Dr. Rowe is a rude professor who takes time at the beginning of the class to explain how stupid the students who are. Furthermore she will take every chance to tell a student he is wrong and embarrass the student. She assigns pointless work like weekly spelling test on simple words and current events daily including weekends. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS

Worst professor I've ever had. She is rude and boring. She will find some reason to not give you a good grade. I've made an A on every paper until I got to her class. Not only was the class boring, she didn't help. She yelled at the student for "talking too much" during a group discussion. If you can avoid taking her, do so!

After taking this class you will consider becoming mute for the rest of your life. She will find any reason to belittle a student. She'll try and push her liberal agenda which is ironic since she studied at Regent. Her tests are the exact same as the study guide. Her lectures are tedious powerpoints. NOT COLLEGE MATERIAL.

Prof. Rowe should not be teaching this class. She is very rude and her teaching style is extremely vague and sets students up for unnecessary work & frustration. Ex: Changes the final paper last minute, asks everyone to do one in class and then, after 75% have been emailed to her, says she wants it handwritten and turned in. In the next 5 minutes.

Honestly the worst professor I've ever had. She almost cares more about grammar than the actual content of all papers you have to write in the class. She is extremely mean and says negative things about students' work all the time. Her teaching skills are bland and you'll find yourself never wanting to go to the class.

Avoid at all costs, very rude and old, spends most of the class talking and coughing, rambles on about nonsense teaches a communication class but has terrible communication skills, says the same thing to everyone after a speech all in all do not take this professor!!!

She is incredibly unclear in her assignments, doesn't care to cut you a break for trying and always seems to be upset at her students. Not really sure why but she just always has an attitude! I'm a very reasonable person and there are a lot of reviews on here that I found I disagree with because it gives the teacher a tough break, but please don't.

Worst teacher, the class could be interesting if it was taught by someone else. There are 3 papers (1000 words or 5-6 pages) and 1 five min "presentation". You can get Feedback on papers before it's due, but when I did it, I corrected all her notes to me and still got a C on the paper. No extra credit. DB are not graded. You'll need the book!

the hardest Professor I've had. Grammar is so important to her that the rest of your paper seems To not matter. when you question her she gets frustrated with you as if you didn't try. Complete waste of time and money, I felt like I had no chance of passing after the first month. And I'm actually a decent student, no genius, but I do my best.

The worst professor at ODU by far. I have her for Environmental Comm, honestly I don't think she even has lesson plans for most days. She relies extremely heavily on class discussions and gets frustrated with the class, calls us lazy and is outright disrespectful because she can't comprehend that we don't keep up with the latest news. I wouldn't take her class again. I'd give her a zero. The final project is a headache. Each paper is worth 20% of the grade. Her feedback is not legible. There is NO extra credit, so don't expect it. She does not give clear rubrics for the assigned projects. Many of her directions lack clarity. Seriously, choose another prof.

This professor is the toughest grader I've ever had. If this class is a requirement for you, TAKE A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR. Seriously, the only grades we had were papers and a final project. I am a good writer but I got D's on all of the papers.. she is impossible to please no matter how hard you work! Would not recommend to anyone.

She's very vague, narrow minded, and just that stereotypical mean, grouchy professor that no one want's to look at or speak to. She is actually very scary to look at, this isn't a joke. No one wants to ask her questions because she is first, so scary looking, second, she will make you feel stupid or won't even understand the question.

Worst professor Ive ever had DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE! She is the hardest grader and doesnt talk about anything during the lecture . She knows most people will fail her and even said it herself. You only have five grades so if she grades you poorly there is no coming back. Complete waste of time money.

This may be one of the worst teachers I have experienced at ODU. She doesn't respond to your emails or posts. The blackboard discussion assignments are not updated from previous semesters; so, the current assignments are unclear. Professor Rowe grades very low without much explanation or articulation of thoughts over your writing. DO NOT TAKE HER.

Her lack of organization with uploading wrong material all semester cost me my grade. A professor teaching an online class must be organized and blaming your students for your mistakes is not the answer. What a waste of time and money. DO NOT TAKE HER

Took Comm 335W. Horrible demeanor and interpersonal skills. Previous students warned me not to take her. I regret it. Difficult to unsurmountable grader. Took a hit on a great GPA due to this class.

Best to avoid this lady. She doesn't give you the information you need to do a quality job in her class and grades very harshly. She had 5 graded assignments TOTALLING 100 points for the entire course. (She grades papers out of 20 so you essentially need to be perfect to get an A.) Can't even fit everything terrible about her in few enough characte

Terrible Professor. Spent half the class coughing. Very rude and would interrupt your speech to tell you what you were doing wrong in front of everyone. Not encouraging, makes students feel uneasy, you could tell the whole class did not like her. I felt no improvement in my public speaking skills, if anything they got worse. Do not take her.

she is not understanding to college students whatsoever. She should not be a professor. It was a waste of money, time, and effort. She also goes against her syllabus and her own word throughout the whole semester. Not recommended at all

This professor can be very rude to students with their tendency to interrupt their questions, contradict their statements from a previous class, or outright refusing to take questions about assignments. The whole class consisted of 4 graded speeches and a single quiz so be prepared to do well or you'll sink rather quickly. Avoid if possible.

Avoid this professor like the plague! Ive always been an A student and I have never struggled as much as I am with this professor! A very rude and abrupt professor! Any time you email her, she wont try and help you, but only try to make you feel stupid! Her papers are impossible and her information doesnt match qualified research! STAY AWAY!!

If you would like to keep your sanity during the semester, avoid taking this professor. The course is equivalent to having four papers due, five tests, one speech and eight final exams all the next days. It's not worth the time and mental energy needed to complete the course. Just stay away. stay FAR AWAY!

Terrible teacher! She doesn't teach well at all and she doesn't have a lick of respect for her students. She is mean, rude and doesn't want you to succeed. I would not recommend this class because I didn't learn anything and got stiffed on an extra credit grade.

Professor Rowe is very disrespectful to students who have not "earned her respect" and will often speak rudely to anyone and everyone. Her class isn't hard or anything but be ready to be spoken down to if you turn anything in late or have technical problems.

Would not recommend Professor Rowe. The course itself is very easy, but she is not a good professor. Classes consist of her reading over PowerPoints the entire time. The test answers are based on what SHE believes is the right answer and not what the textbook says. Its an easy class, but be ready to write 6 papers all 750+ throughout the semester.
