The classes are defintely tough but she is one of the nicest professors I've had. She's also very helpful if you need extra help during office hours.

Jane Wells is awesome.

Jane Wells is the by far the best professor in the Accounting Department at UK, period. Her tests are pretty tough but there are no surprises, you will learn a lot and she is ALWAYS willing to help you if you need it. I worked very hard in both classes I took with her and got an A in both.

Phenomoninal lady, friend, and professor. Dr. Wells is the best accounting professor at UK. She is so helpful and her lectures are very "real-world" and straight-to-the-point. Attendance is not mandatory, but HIGHLY suggested! She is very forgiving and understanding, plus, a very sweet lady. I would retake this class again just to have her!

You can tell she really loves her job because she takes great pride in making sure she does it well. Great teacher, she will teach anyone willing to learn. The tests reflect the material and are straightforward, but still very difficult, you have to work for your grade. You'll get out of it what you put into it.

Mrs. Wells is a great teacher and extremely helpful. I had her during the first summer session and although she's definitely not easy, she helps you digest a lot of content quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. Just come to class and stay up-to-date. Her handouts rock too.

I never knew there were so many different colors until I took her class and started receiving her handouts, lol. She was awesome. Pretty tough class, but she does her part and makes an A obtainable.

Best Professor at UK. Dr. Wells is not only informative but brilliant. UK is so lucky to have such a high caliber proffesor.

Good professor, but I wouldn't take it at 8:00 AM. She is tough, tests have a lot of information on them and have TF, MC, problems, and short answer. You will have to work for an A. She is always available for office hours though.

Just like all the other comments say, plus she makes you feel like you're the most important student in the class. Always makes sure everyone is on the same page and wants everyone to succeed. Go to review sessions before exams, you will benefit (and maybe get a hint about essay/short answer questions on the exam).

Just like every other Wells class. A lot of work but an A is more than doable. She is always available for help. Her passive-aggressive condescension ticks me off, but she's well-intentioned. Overall a pretty good class.

Wells's IFRS class requires average amount of work but is even easier than her ACC 301 and 302 class. Getting an A is not a problem, just a decent amount of memorizing. Tests come straight from the worksheets. The book isn't really needed, most answers are internet and/or answered in class.

Professor Wells is the best professor I've ever had. She is head and shoulders above he rest.Her class is very challenging but you will learn and understand accounting. Her system is nearly flawless and she is very organized. Do not miss class. I barely missed an A, but not upset, because I learned so much. Take her if your serious.

Professor Wells knows what she is talking about and explains accounting well, but you have to be in class. Grab extra handouts, and work those before the test several times and you will be fine.

You have to study to do well in her class, but she explains concepts really well.

She really helps to make sure that her students understand the material; study hard for the exams. Take the homework and quizzes seriously- it is worth almost 20% of your grade. Also, get into a good group for the annual report project- if you have a good group it is an easy A.

She is AMAZING! She is so helpful and wants you to learn the material. She gives you tons of handouts to look back at and had outside of class review sessions before each exam. She is the best professor I have ever had!

Jane is the best teacher that I have ever had in all the years I've been in school. Her tests are fair and not tricky at all. She loves worksheets and pre-class reading notes. She takes her questions directly from these worksheets and notes. She gives lots of extra credit, also. She is very approachable. Do not take ACC 201 with any other teacher!

Mrs. Wells made the course so easy. Attend class, do the pre-class learning notes, study a little bit, and you should get an easy A. The best teacher I've had at UK so far.

She has a lot of rules regarding class behavior and attendance. But this was possibly one of the most rewarding classes I've taken at UK. I learned quite a bit and retained the information and I don't even know how. Her style of teaching makes even difficult material easy to understand. She made me want to learn more. Very helpful. The most difficult part about her exams is the MC. Gives EC for attendance and bonus points for quizzes. Takes the time to know her students. Highly recommend.

Quite simply the greatest professor on this campus. She honestly cares about her students to the max, and will go out of her way to help a student in any way. Please take her class.

Professor Wells is undoubtedly one of the best professors on campus. She truly cares about her students, and will even learn everyone's names after the first few weeks of class. The class is NOT cake, but you can get an A if you actually go, pay attention, and do the assignments. I recommend her over Cynthia Miller, hands down.

Wells is an awesome teacher that will help you in every aspect that she can. She does however expect you to participate and encourages students to come see her in office hours at any point you become confused. If you pay attention and study her handouts she gives you in class, there is no reason that you should not receive an A in her class.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. She is the kindest woman ever and genuinely cares about students and teaching. Its tough, but she will go way out of her way to help you. She Encourages students to call her house for help so she can get out of chores. Recommend Highly

She gives exams every few chapters so you don't have to cram to study a lot. She drops a few homework and quiz grades. And, she gives a ton of extra credit. She's super helpful and seems to really care about students understanding things. Definitely recommend taking her if you can.

She's a wonderful professor. A little strict, and her classes aren't easy, but she does everything she can to help you learn. She gives a lot of handouts and even her home number if you have trouble. Highly recommend her.

Mrs. Wells is one of the best teachers I've ever had. She truly cares about students and wants nothing more for you to succeed. This means she'll challenge you and the class will be tough, but you will learn more from her than anyone else in the school. Keep your head down and do the work and you'll be fine. Highly recommend

She's AMAZING! Take her. Take her. Take her. She's so sweet and would do anything for her students. Very organized and has a set way to do everything. Grades fairly. 4 exams and a final. HW is 1/5 of your grade. Drops a quiz. My friends were all jealous because they didn't have her. TAKE HER.

Best Professor I've had a UK. Difficult course but she makes it very doable. Be prepared to work hard in this class. Exams are straightforward (though still difficult) and from lecture notes, handouts, and homework problems. Drops lowest homework and quiz. If you do the work and actually try, it's very possible to get an A! She's the best!

Jane Wells LOVES accounting and has put passion into something that could be so boring. Her lectures are interesting and crucial for understanding of the material. She makes her own handouts that enhance learning 10 fold. Taking more of her classes in the future for sure!

I love her to death, but man accounting is no joke. She WILL EXPECT you to practice, practice, practice. You can call her house for help and she is so caring about her student. I do have to retake the class. She will tell you in the beginning that most people do retake it. Go to class. She WILL NOT CARE to challenge you on the exams. Need the book.

Professor Wells did a great job of giving the class handouts and bps problems that were very reflective of the material covered on the exam. She was always helpful if you had questions. The class is not easy, and you will have to spend a decent amount of time studying, but she does a good job of giving you everything you need to get a good grade.

In order to succeed in the class, you are definitely going to need to attend every class, do all the HW (Wiley Plus), read her notes and very important to read the book. In UK, she is the best teacher for accounting.

Takes a potentially very hard class and makes it very doable. Very clear in what she expects and even gives her home phone out if you need help. You definitely need to work for the grade you want and attend class. She gives out lecture notes you fill out and can study from that are a huge help. Super nice but expects effort from her students.

Professor Wells is awesome. One of my favorites at UK. She is very nice and cares about student success. She even puts her home phone number on the syllabus and invites you to call here if you have a study question, which I did multiple times. That should tell you everything you need to know. Easily A-able but you need to be prepared for exams.

Can't say enough good things about Jane Wells. She really does care about the success of her students, and gives some of the best explanations I've heard of accounting concepts. It's not an easy A, but an A is attainable with hard work. Highly recommend.

This review is long overdue. I took her in summer 15'. Now i'm in 302 with a different professor. Here's my 2cents: She is the most sought out accounting professor in Gatton for a reason. She gives great lectures, is more than fair with her tests, and is very friendly and there for you. I wish most accounting professors teached the way she does!

Hard to say enough good things about her. Not only is she one of the most pleasant people, she genuinely cares about her students and will do anything to help them. She takes it personally when people don't treat her class with respect, so put in the work and use her as a resource and you should be fine.

Professor Wells is my favorite professor at UK. I've had her for both ACC 201 and ACC 301 and have succeeded because of her. She explains the material well and is available for questions outside of class. Tests are hard but doable if you study. Textbook & Wiley are a must (online version at minimum). Highly encourage doing the readings.

Cannot say enough kind words about this woman. She's not only a good professor, she's a good person. She legitimately cares about her students and will go above and beyond if you're having trouble. However, this is NOT an easy class. In fact, this may be the toughest class of your academic career thus far.

It's clear why Jane's one of the most highly-sought professors to teach accounting at UK. She makes sure her class understands the material, and is absolutely willing to sit down if a student is struggling. She genuinely cares about your success individually, and it absolutely shows. I honestly wish every professor had her mindset and attitude.

She is by far one of the BEST accounting professors UK has to offer. Not only is she very good at explaining complicated accounting principals, but she's caring enough to make her own real world examples that will be applied after college. She is one of the reasons many accounting majors like myself choose to major in the subject.

Jane Wells is probably the best teacher in Gatton. I have had her for 3 years straight. Her test are difficult. Her classes require focus and out of class preparation. If you do what she says you should get an A. She offers A LOT of extra credit without publicizing it. Apart from the class she really explains the content well.

Sophomore year I heard how great Wells is, so I put my whole schedule around getting her for 201. Since then, I've taken her for every class I can. She expects A LOT from her students, but she will do whatever it takes for them to learn. Exams are very challenging but very fair. It can be overwhelming at times, but you will truly learn accounting.

By far one of the best professors I've had. She is very knowledgeable. Available outside of class if you need her. Took her in the 4 week session so I was a bit worried but ended up with a 98%. She really wants you to do well. There was a lot of studying, but her quizzes and tests were straightforward. Would DEFINITELY take again if I could.

I had Wells for ACC201 in fall 2015 & then 301 in summer I 2016. She was great! Her in class examples was basically the exams and quizzes she made. If you work hard you'll get at least a B, and maybe even an A. She's great! I wish I had her for 302 as well bc she explains the material well! Wells wants you to do well, enough said, glad I had her!

Jane is HANDS down the best, most caring professor I've ever had. She makes such a hard course seem decently easy. However, you MUST pay attention, do the reading, & participate. She is always available & always helpful. I had her as a teacher when her son passed away. She was back in class quickly & incredible at getting us caught up. TAKE HER!!

Jane is awesome. Intermediate accounting is difficult just by the nature of the subject, but she makes it so much better. She spends a ton of time on the class creating examples, making handouts, and holding office hours and Q&A sessions. I hope I get to take her again. Would definitely recommend!

Dr. Wells was a great professor! She explains the material thoroughly and makes a tough subject easy to grasp. There is tons of extra credit (bonus on tests, quizzes, attendance bonus), so if you put in the effort, you should be able to get an A. Show up, do the learning notes and readings, and study. You'll be in good hands w/ Wells!

I was so nervous for accounting because I am not the best at math, but Jane made it so much better I even became a accounting major lol! She is very caring and wants everyone to do well and is extremely accessible outside of class for any questions! Just go to class, ask questions, and go to her Q&A sessions before exams and quizzes!!

ACC201 is difficult because it's an introduction to a whole new topic, but she made it a lot more comfortable and easy for us. As long as you're willing to put in some effort, you'll get a grade you're happy with.

ACC 301/302 are the hardest classes you will take if you are an accounting major. But the great thing about Wells is she walks through exactly what to expect on the tests. No surprises on the exams. Loves getting to know the students.

Just about the most caring professor you will ever have. She loves teaching and it shows. With that said, this class is VERY hard (probably harder than 301, in my opinion). There are no semi-easy questions on the exams- she makes sure that you understand the material. She takes attendance and gives extra credit at the end of the semester, so go.

She is really sweet, really cares about her students. However, as a person who is not going into accounting, the material is really difficult. Being a person who loves accounting, she doesnt always explain things well enough to the people in her class that dont. The exams are hard, so studying is needed.

Jane Wells is the sweetest woman alive. However, she is the head of the accounting department. Her tests are 75% written (gives partial credit), and the MC are harder. If you miss one class you will likely miss a whole topic that is covered on the exam. Also, she is the only prof in accounting 201 that doesn't give quizzes (a huge plus).

Jane is so sweet and you can tell she really wants her students to learn. She gives lots of handouts and doing the learning notes BEFORE class will make your life 10X easier. Awesome teacher, definitely recommend taking her.

The learning notes, in-class handouts, homework, and other materials given to you are extremely helpful for the exams. The class is tough, but as long as you put in the work (redo learning notes, redo homework and handout problems!!) you will succeed. Don't be afraid to ask her for help! TAKE HER!!!! You won't regret it !

Professor Wells is an amazing teacher. She genuinely cares about her students' success. She gives you plenty of material to be prepared for the exams but it is up to you to actually use those. If you have any questions or problems at all GO TO OFFICE HOURS! She is more than happy to help. There is also extra credit for attendance at the end!

I'm not an acc major so this class was tough for me. Wells is the best professor she can be given the hard content, which she can't control. Exams make up a majority of your grade. Do the all learning notes, homework, practice questions, and work through everything until you can do it will no help before taking a quiz/exam. Go to office hours too.

She is an amazing person! Really wants to get to know you as a person. She is really good at her job but because she is older she struggles with technology and is not very organized. making it hard to navigate through canvas but she really tries and always helps when you message her

Mrs. Wells is the best teacher I have had at UK. I had the chance to take her for acc 201 and was very excited to see her teaching 301. People that do not like her are just lazy and don't like the idea of actually doing work. If you do what Mrs. Wells tells you, you will most definitely succeed with flying colors. Wells has been my favorite professor at UK. I took her for 201 and 301. She gives guided notes for reading the book and worksheets that are just like quiz/exam questions. She is always helpful if you go to her office hours and really does care for her students. She has been teaching for a long time and knows what she is doing. TAKE HER!!!!

Best Professor at UK I have had so far. The way she teaches, you can tell she is very knowledgeable in the field of accounting. She is a very nice professor and loves when questions are asked. She lets you know what is going to be on the quizzes and exams and also gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Take her class if you can.

ACC 201 is a very content-heavy course, which makes it a difficult class no doubt. However, Dr. Wells is very organized with her lectures, learning notes, and application exercises, which makes the class doable for the average student. She posts all of the class PowerPoints and practice problems on Canvas, and she wants you to succeed genuinely.

Jane Wells is the best accounting professor you'll find for a challenging course such as 301. She really cares about your learning and has great lectures to teach material. The content is very hard but she walks you through as best as possible and gives great handouts. She doesn't give too much HW but the HW she does give is very useful. TAKE WELLS

probably the best prof i've had here. she knows people are scared of this course and she makes all the content very digestible, even enjoyable. she's also so sweet and she knows everyone in our large class by name. definitely will take her for 301 if i can.

I love her, she is my fave prof ever. The class is super hard but that is just because it is ACC. If you have to take ACC, TAKE HER. She makes it more understandable and is super sweet. She gives occasional extra credit. The grades aren't weighted either.

Professor Wells is honestly a great professor. The class is extremely hard but that's just how accounting is. You have to be prepared to actually study a lot for this class. She actually gave a lot of extra credit as well this semester. She is very intelligent and is always ready to help if you have any questions. Take her for ACC.

From what I've heard, Professor Wells is the best accounting professor at UK and I really do believe that. Her class is difficult, but I think it's more the class vs her. She suggests you complete a set of notes before each class. I have found reading the textbook and doing the notes before class really helps, even though it can be annoying.

Loved her but the class was terrible. I dont like accounting and not sure why I had to take it as a business minor. I dropped the class because I was failing the exams and therefore the class. She is so willing to work with you and is such a sweet lady! 100% take her for accounting. Will make your life less miserable haha

Professor Wells is absolutely the teacher to take. This is a tough class but shes a great teacher. You read and take notes before class and its annoying but is key in helping to understand the material. She talks fast but there is so much material she has to. Attendance is actually a bonus opportunity for 10 extra points and is a huge help.

Professor Wells was a good prof overall, but she goes through lectures so fast it is hard to get down some of the notes. You need to study hard for this course; your grade mostly relies on the exams and quizzes. She gives some extra credit at the end of the class for attendance.

Despite the difficulty of the material, professor Wells makes learning everything very manageable. I came out of this class with a much more in-depth understanding of the accounting process. This class itself is a difficult course and there's no way around it. However, Jane truly does her best to make sure every student understands the material. Professor Wells runs a challenging but rewarding class. Stay on top of the material, use the textbook, and take advantage of her study sessions. Unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for exam prep. Overall, a great professor who cares about student success.

Professor Wells was awesome. She has such organized lectures and notes, there is a notes packet that you just fill in the blanks for. The class is really hard but does such a good job teaching that it was very manageable. One of the better professors ive ever had. The homeworks are very intentional and were vital for learning the material.

Oh my glorious queen Jane Wells... where do I even begin? It's truly sad no 1 will read this review because I'm in her last semester of ACC201. Wells has to be the GOAT; she has the best accounting resume ever. She has this down to a science. I really hope she gets the standing O she deserves when she walks out the Gatton doors for the final time.

I personally did not like her. I do not think i molded to her teaching style very well. I think she is arrogant and stuck up. I did not learn a lot from lectures because I was confused by her setup of notes. Exams and quizzes were hard for me even when we were told what was on them.
