BEST EVER.. EASY A
Professor Werner is a great teacher. She is a genuine person who will do anything she can to help you understand the material. Her tests are easy and straightforward and her assignments are simple and also easy to understand. Overall an interesting, experienced, professor! :)
Prof. Werner is a wonderful lady. She is very passionate about the fashion industry and it is very evident. She does give frequent quizes and tests, so you have to keep up with the reading. Overall, not too bad..
She?s very intimidating. Follows everything from the textbook but if you write what you study from the text, she?ll say it?s too vague and she doesn?t know what you?re talking about. Which I think isn?t right because how are we suppose to know if that?s all the textbook says. This is for a Bachelor?s course, so if I were you I wouldn?t recommend.
Prof. Werner is a good teacher. The textbook that she gave out has a lot of homeworks and in-class assignments. She gives homework every week that's a little too much. But she teaches you everything in a very simple way and help you about anything if you do not understand.
Not the best professor out there, she will give out tons of homework. At one point I had 3 homeworks, 1 presentation and exam all at once. Very overwhelming, I'm sure there are better professors out there that teach the same class.
I don't think she takes into considering the fact that we are taking 5 other classes and not just hers.
Professor is knowledgeable in the Fashion Industry, especially in Product Development. You will need the book, prepare to take quizzes all the time, her tests don't relate to the material in the book. She forgets you have other classes, not just hers. I wish I would have taken a different professor.
Definitely have the passion to teach... but, to be a great teacher, one must know how. Avoid taking her class, because it will get extremely confusing and overwhelming. They really need to get more credible instructors with highly qualified credentials.
Amazing teacher!!! She really knows what she is talking about and has great connections in the business. Pay attention and do all of your homework and you will do fine on the Quiz's and Tests.
She is the sweetest person! You learn a lot from her and she truly cares.
Definitely the best professor at FIT! She is extremely knowledgeable about the industry and passionate about preparing their students to be successful in the future. She is also an amazing person and really cares about her students!! Take her class!
Professor Werner is the best professor I've met so far at FIT! She really cares about her students and their education. She knows a lot about the industry and has a very global perspective on things. She really cares and is determined to teach her students everything they need to know to be successful in their career. Definitely take her class
Professor Werner is amazing! She knows a lot about the industry and cares about her students learning experience. Will definitely recommend taking any of her classes!
Nice and very involved in the industry. Textbook needed!!!! Hard tests, lots of quizzes
Prof. Werner is a great professor! She is very knowledgable and makes class interesting. Just keep up with the work every week and you'll do really well!
I really loved having Prof. Werner for my class. She cares about her students and want all the students to do well. I really recommend taking her!!
This was my first class as a freshman at FIT. Professor Werner is very knowledgeable in the fashion Industry, she tries to keep the class fun and light. You will enjoy this class if you actually have an interest in fashion, it's literally the basics... like fashion 101. Book is mandatory but I didn't use it much, try to find it online if you can.
She's an amazing professor and truly has a passion for the industry. She gives out lots of quizzes and a few tests. As long as you take notes, they are very easy! The final project outline wasn't clear, so ask as many questions as you can! Prof. Werner will remind you of why you wanted to study fashion in the first place!
Run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You will only pass if you truly learn the material. The questions on the exam are always tricky. Study more than the review she gives because there is always 3 or 4 questions about material she didn't mention. A lot of work but at the end f the semester you will have actually learned a lot about planning. Weekly homeworks and quizzes.
This course is not suppose to be hard. I took her class and was surprise how she gets the quiz questions because they are really tough. I would switch professor if I were you. She's not and all of that but she is a really TOUGH grader. You bet you can find a better one to teach you with this course if you are not genius with math.
Professor Werner knows so much about the industry from her experiences and she is really intelligent. She makes it like you are out in the real world doing planning as your job! She is a hard grader and makes you work hard but you will learn so much from this class and her. As long as you pay attention and go to class weekly you should be fine.
She is not clear and her quizzes and tests are confusing. Classes are long and she's tough on grading. Pay close attention in class because her tests and quizzes aren't even from the manual sometimes. If you could take someone else, do so.
A lot of homework. Tough grader. If I have an option, I won't take her class again.
If you have the choice do not take her. Picks favorites, calls you out and try to embarrass students, does not make the long class interesting, tests are completely different from outline.
I loved having Professor Werner. I hate math and am pretty horrible at it but its not the regular high school math I was used to. The class is all about application and how to use simple math( + - x / )in a retail environment. She talks about her experience as a buyer a lot and takes the time to make sure her students understand the material.
Oh gosh ! Here we go !! I took this class online and it was the biggest mistake I did ! First off she is horrible , when u ask for help she will not help !! so do not even bother asking. She will ignore you to the fullest and basically you have to figure it out on your own. Not clear, I honestly believe she has no clue on what she is teaching.
Jane is an amazing professor and if you are in Merchandising Society she will absolutely love you. She strays from the book sometimes but only because she teaches us what she actually used in the industry. She has a lot wisdom to share and she really cares about her students
One of the worst professors at FIT. Knowledgable in the field from past careers but does not present the material in an interesting matter. Be prepared to stay the entire 4 hours and have your energy drained from all the material thrown at you. Extremely tough grader and does not work with students to do better or get an extra credit.
Professor Werner is a fun, helpful teacher! I struggle with math, but she made retailing math super easy. BUT you do have to earnestly listen and pay attention because there is a lot of material. Definitely the most fun math class I've ever had.
Professor Werner is very kind and helpful but you might be better off taking a different professor if math isn't your best subject. Midterm and final are 25% each so if you get bad grades on those it's impossible to do well in this class. Overall a nice and solid professor just your grade depends on tests. The quizzes test on concepts, no math.
Prof Werner is nice and helpful but you might be better off taking a different professor if math isn't your best subject. Midterm and final are 25% each so if you get bad grades on those it's impossible to do well in this class. She was more than happy to help when asking for it (1 on 1). Also gives extra credit, but definitely depends on tests
Professor Werner is super nice and is there if you have a question. Her online class is hard but she does voice-overs for the Powerpoints which are really helpful. She checks over the HW in case Blackboard marks it wrong and if you do the work and participate in the few and easy discussions she gives, you'll pass.
She's my favorite professor in FIT. She give great lecture and everything she teach are clear. Be prepare to study hard, she gives quiz every week and the homework can be hard sometime.
If you are not good at math I do not recommend you take her. She knows the material very well, but does not clearly explain how to do the work. If you are behind or don't understand the material, she just says she'll help you at the end of class but never does. If you skip one class you will fail so try to have perfect attendance.
Will never take a course with her again. Her emails are not very helpful for an online class, she gives no help to her students. She has power points with voice overs for each chapter, but the voice overs is just her reading off of the slides. She give PRE homework and homework and a quiz or discussion each week, plus midterm and final.
Professor Werner always makes sure you understand the material, and is a very fun person to talk to . definitely recommend
Do not recommend Professor Werner. She is very condescending and rude. The material isn't extremely difficult but she is not very good at explaining and makes you feel dumb if you don't understand. The homework is normal for a math class, but the tests can be difficult and mean a lot for your grade. There is extra credit though.
A great professor and great lecture. However, she has a lot of quiz throughout the semester. And participation really matters. It seems that you should take an active part and try to do the exercise on the blackboard in every class.
This woman was by far the rudest professor I have ever had! Im not a talker either and although i was scoring low on most things I did get my work done. This was only to me for no apparent reason to the point where other students noticed. She was not helpful at all and maybe about 85% of the class failed the midterm. All she does is lecture
Save yourself and take a different professor she somehow manages to take relatively simple concepts and make them really hard I know this because when I took FM225 the semester after this was all so easy this professor ruined my gpa if you care about your grades do not take!
Some other students in my class had different opinions, but I enjoyed this professor. As long as you show up to class, pay attention, and do the homework (weekly worksheets) you'll be fine. She is very reasonable and willing to help students.
I loved Prof Werner. She relates the topics to the industry. She has clear instructions so it makes it easy to know what she expects from you. I would definitely take her again. She might seem like a tough grader, but she only prepares you to the industry and she is always ready to talk with you/negotiate.
If you are not good at math, take another prof or get a tutor IMMEDIATELY! The class moves really fast but it is the foundation for merchandising. Participation matter and she will be more lenient if she sees you try. HW are graded tough so do it with a buddy! Overall, she has a lot of knowledge of the industry and knows her stuff!
She was amazing, I would 110% take her again. You do have regular homework assignments and quizzes, but they're not too intense. She sets the pace of the class by how fast or slow you're understanding so don't be afraid to speak up if you're not understanding something!
Doesn't answer questions ! so you need a tutor !!!!!! Super fast teacher ! quizzes are terms matching but very hard and confusing (most of students are annoyed about the way quizzes are) !
Doesn't present material in a clear way, used my own formulas the whole time hers never made sense. Went to a tutor every week and still didn't do well on homework cause of her grading. She grades on correct answer not completion, missed 20 points on something small. Tests and quizzes were misleading. Doesn't like when you ask questions.
Professor has a lot of knowledge about the industry! It's a hard class with any professor but she presents the material well. Textbook is needed. First half of the semester, will be quizzes every week but they're only vocab. Homework every week. Lets you know what's on the midterm and final. Allows for extra credit at the end of year.
Teaches at a great pace, is very clear and willing to go over things multiple times. Very fair with questions on quizzes and tests. Really explains not only how to calculate something, but why its important. If you attend class and do the practice problems, you'll get an A. She's also really quick to answer emails if you're struggling with homework
I think shes the only FM224 OL teacher. If you dont need this OL course please avoid it for the sake of your sanity. A lot of times with pre-HW, or really anything, if your answers arent exactly like hers its immediately marked wrong in Blackboard. The pre-HW needs 70% before you can do the actual HW. Do what you will with that information.
tough class, but you really need to pay attention to pass and class goes very quickly to make sure you ask any questions if you are stuck because it will affect you!
She is a great professor. The course is work heavy but if you put in the effort you will be fine. She really cares about her students and will help them as much as she can.
If you are good at retail or merchandising math this class will be perfect for you and you'll be fine. But if you struggle with math or this type of math, don't waste your time and if you have no other prof. option and have to pick Miss Jane, get ready for a tutor. Don't listen to her doubts about tutors, just find a good one and teach yourself.
Don't take her if you can help it. She gives our class anxiety by randomly calling on everyone. Gives a lot of homework and is hard to keep up with, half the time she's going too fast and I can't understand her. Other classes get cheat sheets for midterms and exams; not her! She can be rude and condescending. She's knowledgeable but can't teach.
She has a great personality and she is a kind person but as a professor I don't like. She uses the textbook for every class which is fine. Homework & quizzes are assigned each week! She brushes through each topic way to FAST. You have to 100% understand each topic by the end of class b/c the quiz & HW will be assigned for next class. Don't slack.
Although she is kind, she fails to portray her ideas clearly and moves at a pace that leaves the entire class in confusion. Homework assigned nearly every class and quizzes frequently. I have straight As and her class is killing my GPA. Don't take this class if you can avoid it... high stress for no reason.
One of the least helpful professors I have ever taken. She is rude and doesn't help you if you are confused. Also doesn't explain how to the problems she just expects you to figure it out and it a very unfair grader.
Honestly never had specific problems with her, but she is just a terrible teacher. She gets very flustered during lectures and is very rude to students when they ask questions or get lost in class. She makes everybody very upset and is super discouraging. Also, gives ZERO partial credit on assignments. I have been extremely unimpressed with her.
She doesnt teach literally just reads slides and then tells you to do problems that she didnt teach you how to and then sits there for a hour while you do them. She is a tough grader and tries taking as many points away as possible. She is very kind and a nice person overall but not a good professor.
She goes through the chapters extremely fast, which makes it harder for students to fully grasp the concepts. I honestly did not found her helpful. When we were reviewing for the final exam, she would tell us the steps unclearly, and she never showed us how to solve the problems on the board. She makes it harder than it has to be.
Professor Werner is one of my favorite professors so far at FIT. She explains everything well, not sure what the other reviews are talking about she is great. The amount of homework she gives gives you enough practice to understand how to do it which I appreciated. If you do enough practice you will pass the quizzes, midterm and final.
Professor Werner is by far my favorite professor I've ever had. I struggle with math, but she is so caring and incredibly helpful when it comes to helping you succeed. Her stories about the industry are very insightful and she provides an environment that makes you want to learn.
We are halfway through the semester with Professor Werner and she has been an amazing professor. Im not sure why she has so many bad reviews. There is homework every week but it is a math class so that makes sense. She explains concepts really well and clearly. She has also been very caring because our class moved online after the college closed.
Shes my favorite
After Reading these reviews I was pretty nervous to take this class, considering I've failed most math courses in my life. For the first time, I really understand math. She's clear and concise, as well as super nice. You NEED a textbook for this course. DO the work, listen in class, go over the PP and you'll do fine.
Truly one of my favorite professors at FIT. She has so much experience and is a very kind and interesting person to listen to! The math in this course is pretty simple, but Professor Werner puts in the time and effort to really help you understand the material and be successful in the class. Very manageable amount of hw. Take her class is you can!
Professor Werner is absolutely amazing! I have such a hard time with math, always have. I am doing well in her class & feel I owe that to her. She is very clear when she teaches, & she puts in effort that many professors dont. She cares about her students & wants you to succeed. If you fail the course, its on you! She is amazing & my favorite!!!!
The best. This was my 1st semester at FIT, and I'm NOT good at math lol. She thoroughly explains math concepts, and gives clear explanations. She even offers her time and help outside of class if you don't understand something! If I ever had questions, she was happy to answer! Just pay attention in class and you'll do fine! Plus, she's funny :)
One of the best professors at FIT. She does not have good ratings on here but I promise you, you will not regret taking her. Super caring and wants to see you succeed. TAKE HER!!
The class is extremely well laid out and easy to follow. Homework is out of the textbook and is graded for each chapter. You don't have to read the chapters to understand because she goes over them in detail in class. You get what you put into this class. If you have a question she is more than happy to stop and help you but you need to speak up.
She is an amazing professor and so helpful throughout the entire semester. She cares about her students and always answers any questions you might have and is not judgy about it. There is homework about every week, but is not difficult because she is thorough with each lesson. You will leave the class knowing the information.
Prof Werner's teaching truly prepares you for what is to come as you move along the FBM track. She is always willing to meet in her office to help you understand the material. While challenging, if you are willing to put in the work, it will go a long way. Homework is involved, but it is so helpful - especially for exam prep!!!
Her class is easy. Shes literally the best math professor at FIT
I took this class during the summer and COVID. It was slated for in-person but changed to distance learning. For all the disruption, the class was well organized. Im not a fan of Voice Threads in blackboard but, her instructions were clear and expanded on the reading. Obviously the professor took the time to make the class engaging and truly cared
Professor Werner is a very kind, respectable, and reasonable professor! Her lectures are very interesting and informative and just like in any other class, do the work and you will receive a good grade. She answers all your questions and she CARES about you and your progress. I 100% recommend you take her class as I have personally enjoyed it!
I TRULLY ENJOYED PROF WERNER'S CLASS. HER COURSE WAS CLEAR AND CONCISE. SHE WILLING TO HELP HER STUDENTS AND SUPPORT WHEN NEEDED. PROF WERNER GAVE GREAT FEEDBACK AND I ENJOYED LEARNING FROM HER. IT WAS AN ONLINE CLASS SO PARTICIPATE, SHOW UP, AND YOU WILL SHINE :)
She is such a good professor! I take any class she teaches. She is so nice and caring and will help you with whatever you need!!! LOVE HER
She's the least understanding Professor during unprecedented times. She can be rude and mean, gives Pre-hw?, hw, and tests often. She also makes everything due days before class day. I will never take her again, I do not recommend her in the slightest.
Professor Werner is by far one of the best professors I have had at FIT. She is extremely knowledgeable about the industry and makes sure you understand what is happening in class. There is homework every week, but it perfects your retail math skills so well. This class also prepares you for the industry, which is extremely important! Take her!
This class is not to hard but with this professor it makes it the worst class. she doesn't cut anyone slack which is extremely rude considering the circumstances atm. she keeps track of how many times you particpate and uses it against you for attendance. if you get one think out of this, dont take this professor. she also gives so much hw!!
I took merchandising math with Jane. This was a rather simple class consisting of percentages and easy addition and subtraction. However, Jane made this class almost impossible. She blamed students for not understanding the concepts and homework is 90% of your grade.
She's a really nice teacher and is passionate. She's good at teaching the material, but it is a lot of work and not easy. You can't slack in this class. The weekly homework would take about 2-3 hours to do. Get a class buddy if you're taking her, it makes the work less daunting and easier to do. Just stay on top of your work and pay attention.
Absolutely fabulous woman. My favorite at FIT so far. Is extremely interested in the content she is teaching, encourages students to stay on top of work, and grades fairly. Tests can be difficult, specifically multiple choice. Very obscure, detailed questions that certainly cannot be answered if the reading is not completed. Overall, wonderful job!
I LOVE JANE WERNER, baes for life I say. Im failing and she still loves me. don't forget about doing the quizzes and your fine.
Jane is truly one of the best professors on FIT's campus. She is kind and compassionate. She does expect you to come in and do your work though. But thats basically any professor. As long as you read her very detailed course calendar and apply yourself you will get an A.
loves squid games very great
I would not recommend this professor. I had her for Merchandising math and she made it more complicated than it needed to be. We have to do pre h.w before we can do the actual h.w! She can also be condescending when u ask a question and are still confused after she "explains" it. There is way too much h.w and the class feels like a burden.
Jane Werner is the worst professor I've ever had. She doesn't help when you ask questions on the material. I met with her for extra help outside of class multiple times and she would just tell me I was wrong when I got a question wrong. All the homework is counted like a test grade, which is also very stressful. Don't take her class if possible.
Worst professor I've ever had. She seems to take pleasure in seeing her students fail. I haven't spoken to a single person who is doing well in the class, even those who enjoy and fully understand the subject matter. I dread attending this class.
Class did not prioritize learning. I fully grasped the information and still could not get a decent grade. Uses computerized grading and makes students feel bad when she has to re-grade because of errors on her end. Not understanding when it came to technical difficulties or missed work. Does not seem to care if students are happy or doing well.
I took Prof W for winter semester - I found her to be extremely encouraging and I learned a lot! She was understanding of a time deadline that I was nearing close, and worked with me after I communicated with her. She is VERY easy to get in touch with via email. She's a fair grader, and the workload was manageable during the short semester.
This teacher is the worst teacher FIT has!! please don't take this class she is rude and gives you like 5 homework assignments every week. no matter how much effort you put into this class she does not care. I ask her for help and she doesn't show up to the meetings. please if you care about your mental health don't take her
Takes test every week, too much of math in this module. She was overall okay, very caring though. Need to participate in class for better grade.
I thought I liked her but I realized she is passive aggressive if you dont understand. She will teach one thing in class and than the homework will be an entirely different thing.
She is a very understanding and kind professor who makes all her grading and classroom expectations clear from the get go. Her class deals with quite a lot of math so attendance in class for lectures and taking notes is very important. She takes the time to make sure students understand the concepts and is willing to help you however she can.
Awful professor. Terrible teacher and gives abominable amount of homework. Is so extremely rude and gives prehomework before homework! Is a very tough grader and doesn't actually teach, just talks. Never answers questions or helps out bc she doesn't feel like it. If you want to lower your average take this class!
All Professor Werner wants is for; you to learn and understand the material. Yes, she does give Pre-Hw, but it helped, and combined with the HW, it's the same amount of questions any other professor would give. Anyone who has given a bad review didn't put enough time and effort into the class. Mind you I've never been good at math.
i took her online class and she cares about her students passing and doesnt want anyone to fail but at the same time once she was rude to me when i asked her to re-explain a question i had. she put her answer in all caps over email. it was a lot of work since she gave 3 homework assignments one day and the next day she gave the final test.
If math is not your best subject, definitely reach out to Prof Werner in the beginning of classes to let her know. She is always open to helping her students, I cant even tell you how many times I probably emailed her for help. She would go through every quiz/test we took and double-check it to make sure we get as many points as we deserved.
If you struggle bad in math, this professor isn't for you. She is so passive aggressive if you don't understand the material and gives off mean girl vibes. She gives out "pre homework" which I have never heard of in my life, IT'S JUST MORE HOMEWORK! She makes me feel so pressured and makes me feel awful about it, hence why I am failing her class.
I love Prof. Werner! She just really wants you to understand the material. Heavy workload, pre-homework, and then actual homework assignments. If you don't catch on fast, she knows, & will suggest tutoring or extra math help. Not flexible tho; I missed one assignment on BB and she didn't let me take it 1 day late when I had a family emergency :(
Professor Werner is an educated person but cannot assist people who aren't math savvy. I struggled through this course and was unable to ask for assistance. Professor is very passive aggressive and assigns A LOT of homework- lots of "pre-homework" and busy work. I would not recommend taking this course unless you are a very strong math student.
This professor is extremely rude and wants her students to fail. She is crotchety and impatient, and assigns prehomework on top of regular homework every week. She on purpose asks questions we dont know; she said "im gonna ask them this one they wont get it right." Like who does that? She isn't a good teacher, she flies through content. Save urself
The lectures were through power points so we had to teach ourselves the material. I wish she could have had videos that explain the material more thoroughly. She responds to emails fairly quickly BUT she is passive-aggressive. Also, she does not allow extensions, (she says she does). Big tip: if you take this class BE ON TIME with all assignments.
This was actually the worst professor I have ever had. Please do not take her. I took her fm203 business intel. course online and she was awful. She was rude and super aggressive whenever I asked any questions. She never explains anything and she words the problems in a very complicated way. Honestly just wants her students to fail.
Werner was highly condescending, passive-aggressive, and a pain to work with. I had never taken an online course before starting my FIT AAS, and I thought I would reach out to her by email to introduce myself and to ask a couple of questions, but she basically ignored my entire introduction and told me if I had questions, I would need to Google it.
As per others she is unprofessional, passive-aggressive, and lacks ownership for her failures. She blames her failures on the student, in consequence leaves the student with a failing grade. I have excellent grades, and this course is actually not difficult. She chooses to make her class difficult and provides little to no assistance.
FM203 is not an easy class so get ready to put in work, go to class, take notes, and pay attention. Prof. Werner does not make any assignment too difficult and she is very fair. However, if you get lazy you will fail. She assigns a lot of homework but you can tell that she just wants the best for her students.
She picks favorites and hates on others. She was extremely rude to me on multiple occasions and talked behind my back to other students and professors. She made sure to make it known she did not like me. I put so much effort into this course and was genuinely really excited about this class until Jane. She's a c u next time.
