This class with Dr. Kohler was great because she guided us through complex math like statistics. She taught very well and is one of the most excellent professors I've learned through. She cares more about us learning the concepts rather than making it complicated for us.

Overall Dr. Kohler is an amazing professor I would recommend her classes to anyone wanting to learn all things psychology.

Covers a lot of ground for learning and is easy to follow. She has a required textbook that she'll go through with you during class and it covers a lot of the practice and learning needed to do well in this class. Personally, I only spent an hour studying before exams and did well on them so a lot of learning is actually done in class !

She really emphasizes learning in the classroom, and she demonstrates it by making us purchase a textbook for like $30, and she will go through the material of the textbook during class so that you don't have to after class. Of course, you should study as always, but much of the learning is done in class and is easy to follow by her explanations.

She's really clear with all the assignments and exams, and she's easy to get in touch with outside of class. The lectures are important and she does a good job going through each lesson.

She is sooooo sweet and genuinely cares. She always makes herself available for extra help. Her exams are straightforward, not deceiving. So happy i took this class with her.

Dr. Kohler was soooo sweet and understanding. You could tell she genuinely cared about us learning the material. There is a required textbook for the class, that you'll take notes and do practice problems in, but it's only like $35. Also, she's super laid back, even let us have extra time on our exams :)

Kohler is amazing! She is absolutely one of my favorite professors, she is almost always available if her health isn't acting up. She got very ill this semester yet still came even though she was in and our of the hospital, she really cares for her students and student sucess. However, this class is super hard lol so be on top of things.

She is very easy to accomodate and work with students. Makes learning slightly less difficult and also gives some different easy extra credit options. She also allows a curve assignment for one of the first tests if you were to fail.

Dr. Kohler made a traditionally difficult class really easy. Although attendance isn't necessary, she did give a lot of quizzes so if you miss class you miss easy points. Also, although there was a textbook, a majority of the quizzes weren't difficult since a lot of the questions were common sense (as a psych major). She's a great prof, 10/10

Dr. Kohler offers really interesting material in a very easy to digest format. Exams are a breeze if you do the reviews (which are based mostly off lecture material that's literally handed to you) and the final is a paper with a topic of your choice related to what's presented in class. Highly recommend for a class you'll learn in but won't stress.

She was absolutely amazing! In all honesty, I was able to pass from the many chances of extra credit points she handed out. She's super understanding and lenient, if you can't make it to the exam date, she'll let you take it whenever you can as long as it's before the semester ends. I recommend taking Kohler for experimental lab. This class is heavy on group projects, papers, and mini quizzes that are attendance-based, however, course work is very easy and she will help tremendously with everything.

This course is fairly easy thanks to the guidance of Dr. Kohler, she makes sure you understand the progress of research and that everyone is working fairly in the semester-long group research assignment. Janelle Kohler did excellent in teaching. She taught in a way that was easy for students to learn and grasp the topic in hand quite easily. She talks very fast and read off of the slides she provides on canvas. She is always open to criticism and is very open to communication. Never had homework only study guides, exams, and in person quizzes.

Great professor! She tries to explain material as well as she can. She goes by material really fast so pay attention and try not to get distracted. Exams are really easy and we only had about 7 homework assignments each with at most 6 questions. Will need to purchase a mandatory notes packet.

Dr. Kohler is passionate about her job as a professor. She can sometimes talk a bit too fast, but she will repeat herself if you ask. She tries to answer all questions to the best of her ability. There are quite a few quizzes, but they're only three questions. The only con would be the study guide, which is done as a group. It can be annoying.

Grading was the standard 10-point scale divided by tests, homeworks, and attendance with ample opportunities for extra credit. Professor was thorough with explaining topics despite being a 5 week summer course, and she was easy to understand within the lectures.

My statistics professor was incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout the course. She is passionate about statistics and teaching. Her deep knowledge and ability to present the material in an easy-to-digest manner made her one of my all-time favorite professors across three universities. My grade is not a reflection of the professor.

This course is often made out to be scary to psych majors. It really isn't, especially with Dr. Kohler. She helps every step of the way. The only way to not do well is if you don't care or if you don't do any of the work.

I took this profesor after my experience with having her as a statistics professor. I have a history of not being good at math, but that was the first class where I developed a real relationship with math. I will always be grateful to her patience, and immense care when preparing her students.

Dr. Kohler was very hands-on with assisting with our assignments, provided good lectures and in-class examples, and was very forgiving in grading. Easy A+ if you show up to class and fr try on the assignments. Most of the assignments are group work btw. It was a fun class & I would be glad to have her as my instructor again.

She is very clear when teaching and if it seems difficult she will take time after class to speak to you one on one to help understand. Her power point slides were very easy to follow and the hardest part of her class was just the fact that it's experimental psychology.

I took Dr. Kohler's Experimental Psychology Lab class and it was awesome. It is a bit of a tougher class which includes group projects and a longer final paper. But, Dr. Kohler did an amazing job. She genuinely wants you to pass the class with a clear understanding of everything being taught. I would definitely recommend her!

Professor Kohler was an amazing professor! I took this course online and loved the flexibility. Professor Kohler was always sure to make herself available both online and in person. I would love to have her again at some point. The amount of homework was manageable and her tests were fine as long as you took notes and completed the homework.

This is my second time taking Dr. Kohler's class, and I HIGHLY recommend that anyone who can take it take it. She makes it known that she's just trying to teach you, not trick you on tests. She understands that life happens and makes it clear that whenever you look at her syllabus on attendance.

She teaches by doing, she spends less time on why and more time how. Her lectures aren't super long and if you follow along there's no way you can't do the math. I just wish there's more explanation of why we are going what. She's easy to get a hold of and she's flexible which I appreciated.

The professor has tests almost every other week and goes through lectures quickly. She asks if anyone has questions but doesn't wait long for responses. However, she tries to help students get as many points as possible on tests. Make sure to review the posted lectures—they're super helpful for studying.

Best psychology professor. Makes class fun, will help you pass the course if you need help, if you are trying to get into her classes register as early as possible. Made stats so easy, it was crazy. Very good at answering questions, gives answers to homework but it's up to you to do it on your own and only use them as answer confirmation. She puts a lot of trust into her students, so just be honest with her and yourself. Lectures are posted online, but attendance is taken with iClicker. iClicker quizzes easy.

Homework was very easy and was also what was reviewed for exams. Exams were long but all multiple choice and basically from the homework and iClicker quizzes. Quizzes were easy and were done at the end of each lecture. She is very good at giving examples for concepts and that makes it easier to remember. Very great class.

Amazing professor!! Took her for stats which can be hard at times but she made the class manageable and easy to understand. She teaches at a fast pace but always ask the class if they have questions or need help understanding anything which is greatly appreciated. This class was supposed to be taught by a different professor and was passed to Kohler last minute. She added her videos and changed some work but both professors videos were loaded. I feel like if I didn't understand from one I would grasp from the other professors videos.

Prof Kohler was AMAZING this was not a weed out course but it was also not a complete walk in the park. She made sure we knew everything we needed to know for exams and was extremely helpful.

I really enjoyed my semester with this professor! Her teaching style is easy to understand and follow along with. We took 5 exams and she does a really good job of going over the exam the class before we have to take it. She has study guides with the answer key posted on canvas to help us study and her hw also comes with a key highly recommend!

Probably one of the best professors I've ever taken here. I'm horrible at stats/ math in general but she made me understand it completely, she's a great lecturer! Definitely would recommend. Her classes fill up super fast, so you have to be quick! Does require a notebook you have to order through ups store doesn't require a textbook.

As long as you show up to class and pay attention you will be good, plus none of the tests are culmative so that helps. Not a hard class especially with such a sweet professor!

Though this class can be daunting if you do not enjoy math, it is quite simple with Ms Kohler. Tests matter however her guides are exceptional in preparing you for whatever could be on the test. Note taking is easy due to her writing it in with you. No matter if you need a class for an elective credit or a requirement for your major I recommend it.

One of the best professors I have taken so far. Take her if you can get into one of her courses!!! She wants her students to succeed and is always there to help if you need it. Group project ran all semester, so it is a 50/50 chance you will like your group, but as long as you do the work and put in the effort, you will pass!!

Before taking this class, I was really nervous because I had heard how difficult the course could be. Stats is not a simple class, but with Professor Kohler's amazing and thorough lectures, and the plenty of practice exams and problems she provides, this class is not difficult! Dr. Kohler is an extremely engaging and knowledgeable professor, I loved her exp lab class! That's saying something, given the fact that exp psych is generally considered the "weed out" class for this major. She breaks up the long experimental process into easy assignments, and she is both very kind and funny. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!

Difficult subject but professor makes it possible to learn

I was initially warned about this class being challenging, so I went in thinking the worst. However, when I met Dr. Kohler, she immediately changed my perception! Yes, the material is difficult, and there's a lengthy research paper due at the end of the semester, but she helps you throughout the course to get the paper done! It was very manageable!

This is the professor you want for PSY3413 hands down. Very knowledgeable and an absolute rockstar!

I would absolutely recommend taking Professor Kohler's course. It is test heavy due to having an exam every week, but she will absolutely make sure everyone is on the same track before exam day. She is super understanding and sweet, and I think her course made statistics way easier for me to fully understand!

The course is intense! She makes it manageable. She knows the subject she teaches AND she knows how to teach! Absolutely show up for lectures and participate.

The way I was recommended this class was by my advisor saying "if I have students that hate math, or dont understand what theyre doing, I tell them to take her." And if that's not glowing enough; she accommodated my dyscalulia no questions asked. Kind, caring, and ultimately the best math teacher Ive ever had.

Despite this being a 5 week class and being incredibly fast paced and hard, Dr. Kohler was great. She explained everything very thoroughly and never made anyone feel like they were dumb for asking questions. She always stayed after class for anyone that had questions and answered everyone's questions that were in a long tine

She explains the material in the easiest way possible and lets you know shortcuts you can use to get the final result easier/faster. She makes herself available after class and is open to any questions during her lectures. You don't need her textbook, but she has a mandatory "note packet" that's way more ideal for me personally than typing/writing.

Dr. Kohler is a great professor. She made the class very easy, and a lot of things I expected to be a lot of work and very difficult (like our group presentations) turned out to be very low stakes, as she does not expect too much from college students who are new to the field of Psychology.

Love Dr. Kohler! She made this class very palatable by breaking the final paper up into sections that we worked on over the duration of the semester. She is personable, open to questions and will always calm your nerves if you have concerns. She is always looking to improve the class and is open to feedback. I can't recommend her enough!

I personally loved Professor Kohler. At first I had heard horror stories about the difficulty of the course. I was nervous, but she immediately put us at ease on day 1, giving clear and concise information about what was going to happen throughout the course and what was expected of us. Her Statistics for Psychology class was easily my favorite class of the 2025 Fall semester. I will be taking her several more times over the course of my degree plan. THANKS PROFESSOR!!!

This was an easy laid back class, the professor is super sweet, approachable and energetic. Attendance matters for iclicker based on article readings assigned for that day (no textbook). These articles are gone over in class which made it easy to understand. Only 1 paper and 3 exams, and the exams are easy if you do the study guide!

Professor Kholer was very organized and clearly had the calendar outlined on what to expect throughout the semester, including the important dates to be prepared for. Her class always felt structured but not overwhelming! Just make sure to be there for attendance.
