easiest class ever. got to play outside. papers and tests were so easy. awesome teacher too, actually wants all of her students to do well.

Really liked her. Class was made up of mostly discussions. 2 Papers. No biggie, and a group presentation for the midterm. Homework consists of writing a journal entry of reactions to articles we read in our text book. Def take her.

very sweet, a little impersonal, but helpful. go to class and do the easy work required and you'll get an A, but you HAVE to go to class. all your work is done in class, don't cop out, this is what you go to school for silly, to go to class!

This class is an easy A. all that you are graded on is a 5 pages research paper, group project as mid-term, 1 or 2 movie reviews, and you final and all are pretty easy.

wonderful professor, very caring and knows a lot. Is easy and knows it, but it is a 100 level course, so it should be. Highly recommend.

Take her. My roommate took this class w/ someone else and it was hard. I took it with her and it was SO easy. A little boring sometimes. Read the articles, DO YOUR JOURNALS and ALWAYS GO TO CLASS! Attendence is a big part of the grade. Put some effort into your midterm. don't worry about the final, it was cake. Definitely little stress for a gen ed

Class is easy. Just make sure you go to class and do your weekly journals. Theres one research paper and the midterm was a group project. The final is cake, no need to stress over it. I recieved an A.

easy class. just show up and hand in your journals every week and you'll do fine. we had to write a paper, do a group project for midterm, and take an easy final. thats about it workwise

I love Mrs. Chocky! She is an awesome teacher with a great class environment. The class is soo easy, you learn alot just by showing up. Not alot of work, just a mid term group project and 2 papers...so easy...I got an A, and would totally say to take her for social issues.

shes a great teacher. not a whole lot of work. 2 papers, a midterm group prokect and a final is really all we have. and a journal every week. she keeps class interesting. and she needs to with us... 3 hours and 20 minutes is torture.

Chocky is the best! Every class is a discussion on really fun things to talk about, she gives everyone a chance to volunteer ideas. Very easy class and very enjoyable. Take her, you won't regret it.

Wasn't too interested in the class. Gen ed after all. She's fine. Not the best teacher but boring or hard or anything like that. A little scattered but if you can make stuff up, you can join the discussion.

This woman loves open discussion. If you want a good great--just talk a lot in class! Really. It won't kill you if you miss a reading because she discusses it a lot in class. She's great at emailing back and if you just put a LITTLE work in it's a promised A. Also even though it's a mandatory class--take it w/ an open mind, it's beneficial for life

Actually, my story is quiet different. I was going to drop the class after the first few classes. Being international student, I had no idea what the class discussion was about since I thought everything was unrelated to me and american issue was not my cup of tea. But now, I love this class more than ever. The class discussion is very effective

This professor is great! Very informative, I actually did learn quite a bit from her class. Very easy assignments and group project. Your grade is based on attendance, participation (do not really have to read in order to participate in class discussions), and easy assignments. Professor is very clear with expectations. Definitely take her!

Very easy class. Attendance is mandatory and it will affect your grade. Class is fully classroom discussion. 1 project and 2 papers and that is it. Show up, participate, and do the work and you'll get a good grade. Did not like Chocky but its a really easy class. Don't buy the textbook!

I have social issues with her. Class is all open discussion and she loves to hear your opinion. She never references the readings in class discussion but as long as you do the readings you should do well. There are two projects, two papers, and a short final.

No quizzes or tests in this class! The final is just a final paper and you don't have to come in. If you have to take a social issues class, take her! Class mostly consists of discussion, but if you are not a participated it's ok because she doesn't call on you randomly. Such an easy class. Seriously, take her!

I took this to get rid of the gen ed and she was by far an easy A. Show up to class with your journal (5 sentences), and participate a bit and you are golden! She gives out a few papers but they were easy. The midterm is a group project. Final is a presentation. Because she gives few actual assignments make sure you so them well don't BS.

No formal tests or quizzes. One journal due every week, not hard so don't know why anyone wouldn't do it. Assigns two papers in the beginning of the semester and if you actually put some time into them you'll get an A. She gives directions in a simple matter and lists exactly how she wants things done so just follow her format exactly. Loved her.

Professor Chocky is a great woman, but, you CAN NOT take her class if you are a quiet person. Not that many graded assignments and weekly journals are given, but if you do the work and participate, you will be fine.

Prof Chocky is such an amazing person, but her class is not easy if your a quiet/shy person. She encourages group work, and class participation. If you just sit in the back of the class, you won't be getting a good grade, and she may call on you. Just show up, participate, and you will do great

I had Prof. Chocky Fall 2020! She was a good professor and did not assign a lot of work at all. It is an easy class but you have to participate, and you have to have your camera on. Skipping this class will mean you fail. She likes things done her way or no way! But she is lovely. I liked her a lot. Knows a lot and is super experienced!

I had her class in fall 2020 and LOVED her. She gave small weekly assignments and some reading, but it was not at all overwhelming. The class felt like a debate and a discussion, rather than a series of long lectures. The "big" paper for the semester was only 3 or 4 pages long. It's an easy A and a fun class.

This class is all participation and giving your opinion. The work is very easy and not heavy at all. The class material is interesting and she tells good stories, listen in class and you'll get an A.

Professor Chocky had me nervous on the first day of class, but she really comes around. She's very knowledgable and I found myself getting more and more interested in both her lectures and assignments as the weeks went on. A few easy papers, and a clear cut final. Just attend class and participate.

Professor Chocky is a great professor. She is chill and with her class being kinda abt politics and issues, she doesnt really pick sides she looks at the gray area. This class is very interactive and alot of group work. Sometimes theres classes that are boring when she just talks the whole time but its rare, also a couple of movies. Easy class

Professor Chocky was a very easy professor to take. I was scared to take her when I was reading the reviews but she is nice. Attendance matters, so show up. we did 3 papers, a midterm one of the papers was the final. a lot of reading. threatens you with failing if you don't read for HW. overall her class was easy but she's not easy to talk to.

Everyone hates on Chocky but honestly she wasn't bad at all. As long as you pay attention, stay off your phone, and participate every once in a while, she will like you and the class won't be that hard. You don't need to read for every class but you still need the textbook. The midterm and final were both a paper and theres like no homework.

Professor Chocky in my opinion runs an interesting class with a broad range of topics. The papers are very straightforward, however, if you have any questions, she doesn't always want to answer them. Midterm was a little long, but an easy grade. Haven't taken the final yet. Only homework is reading and journal entries which only take 10 minutes.
