At first she seems like a psycopath, but u end up learning a lot and she turns out to be a pretty chill lady.

My first impression of her was that I really didn't like her, but as the semester went on she became one of my favorite professors.

She definetly seems intimidating in the begining but i say stay with her. she is wonderful, and after her class the G lot didnt seem so bad. the work is not really hard,she brings very interesting points and topics up in class. I learned about myself, purpose, and life in that class. TAKE IT!

the first day i had her i was scared, and i thought she'd be the toughest teacher ive ever have, but i was completly wrong, shes very good and i learned a lot from her. Just go to the class, and do her assignments and ull get a good grade, shes not that tough on grading

Ya` are all crazy. She is the best prof. by far i have ever had at NCC. Yea she may be tough but thats what you need in college. She taught me more this semester than i thought i would. Its amazing how intelligent she is and her words really make a diff. if you really listen and understand.

She is an amazing person and professor.

She is the best teacher i have ever had at NCC. 'til this day i still go to her for guidance. She helps student look into themselves and really learn how to evaluate others communication skills as well as your own. She is the reason why i want to major in communications.

i've had her 2 years in a row and she is such a good teacher. she may come across rather strict or "mean" at some points, but shes really a nice person.

She expects you to participate for your own learning. She gives alot of real world examples. so what she is teaching makes sense. You will definately come out of her class thinking and speaking better. Tests are easy as long as you do the assignments

she is very realistic and not flaky like most professors. she makes the class very interesting and fun to be in. i am glad to have a professor that cares about students when they show that they want to be helped

plzz dont take her. really hard and the way she grades the papers oh God its really bad. i went to writing center twince. they told me my paper is good but i got C when u type 4 pages and go to writing center 2 time still u got C

Best Professor. She really gets you thinking about the world. She really connects with the students, everyone in class could relate to one thing or another she spoke about. Of course she expects you to speak it is a comm. class. If you take her, you will come out of that class a better communicator for sure!!

I loved her! She is a professor and a person who has made a difference in my life. She has a way of making you see the world in a whole new light. She opens your mind and gets you thinking. I was disappointed when class ended! There hasn't been a day that goes by that I don't hear her voice and something wonderful that she has said.

If your willing to open up your mind you'll do AMAZING in this class .. not too hard.. she is awesome

My gradeB+. I attended her buss. com course and it made me look at my corporate future and my self diffrently. She opened my eyes to an inner understanding of self and the communication aspect of the corporate world. She has a masters & Phd. and is exteremly insightful. I wished I would have taken her for my other com courses.

By far the best porfessor I had at NCC, and probably much better than the ones I have at NYU. It's not an easy class; good classes aren't easy. For those who left a bad rating: I can understand your disapointment, you can't even write properly in your own language (I'm a foreigner), so how do you pretend to learn how to communicate porperly?

I don't think her class is hard at all. But you definatly have to walk in with an open mind. Her grading is a little messed up but if you hand in a draft and ask her to look it over and do what she says, its pretty easy to get an A...

Very Awesome teacher. If you come to class with an open mind and listen to what is being said in class and take notes you will do good in the class. It really helps to go to the writing lab for the papers. Or have her look over a rough draft before you turn in the final paper. She really know what she is talking about and teaching.

Professor Farrell Leontiou is by far the finest professor I have had in my college experience. She is demanding and comes into the class with the expection that we are all adults who should be prepared to learn. Her approach is very unique and inspiring and has truly changed my life. Her classes are difficult, as all good clssses should be.

If you can open your mind and LISTEN to what she is telling you..you will do awsome in this class. It is like therapy. You do learn a lot about yourself and other people. If you do exactly what she says in the papers you have to write you will do fine! OH and Participate in class 25% of your grade! If she knows you she will like you.

A brilliant and inspiring woman--I left her class every day w/ an enlightened feeling. She's given me a tremendous amount of confidence and knowledge that will last a lifetime. If you don't like to participate or if you want an easy class, don't take this one. If you're up for a challenge and want to grow, this is the perfect class.

Best teacher ever! She really inspires one to look deeper and think outside the box. My actual thought process was completely revamped after I left the class..shes a great professor and a great friend....just go in with an open mind A++++++

This is an amazing professor! I think everyone needs to take HER class as a graduation reqirement. She opens your mind and retrains you to see things a different way. Its a class you'll never want to miss! It's a very personal, participation-filled class. please take this class!

She is an awesome professor, all of you who say she is not are incapable of comprehending good teaching and need to grow up because this is the real world. WE'RE NOT IN HIGH SCHOOL GUYS!!!! Prof Leontiou is ONE OF A KIND. She teaches how to find self respect by respecting others, recreating yourself by being present, discipline by engaging, and achieving success through commitment to what you love. Appreciate life and have a positive attitude, DO NOT saying anything demeaning. This class was like a THERAPY session to me. A+++++++++

She was very smart and I learned a lot from her but she graded really hard for no reason. she is excellent though and i do recommend her to everyone. Please do take her, you will learn a lot and see things from a different perspective. A true gem to Nassau!!

I went to this class just to fulfill a requirement, thinking it was public speaking-i was WRONG! This was the most rewarding class I have ever taken. She teaches you to think for yourself, take responsibility, and how to grow up. This class was better than therapy! The class gets pretty close too--it was very difficult and sad to leave! LOVED HER!

I have no clue what any one was talking about and if this is the same proff that I had. For starters she is an extremly easy leniant proff. She gave one easy test on a book and gave one enjoyable five page essay and that was virtually it. The best class I ever took at NCC, she is inspring and such a great professor. Bc I learned so much about myself and the other sex and its just a great class to take with her. One quiz on a book, which the book was great AMSFM by Frankl and one paper and one presentation. She works at the pace of the class so if you do not particapate. Do not go :)

Professor Leontiou is by far the most amazing professor at Nassau Community College. She has helped me both inside the classroom and in my everyday life. I still have my notebook filled with everything she has talked about. If you listen and pay close attention, you will get SO much out of it! She is a true inspiration and has changed my life.

Took me a few classes to learn about who she really is. She wants the best for her students and teaches valuable lessons and tells stories. If you participate and show effort, you will do well. Does not appreciate slackers. The two books she uses are inexpensive. You can tell that she truly loves her job.

Out of all my years in education, Professor Leontiou is by far the best teacher I've had. It is an honor to be in her class. This woman is full of wisdom and life lessons. She the type of teacher that gets me excited to go to class. She changed my life. She's a genius. I have nothing but the utmost admiration and respect for her. Enlightening.

Professor Leontiou is one of Nassau's finest. She gives you all the tools to do well, you just have to put in the work- and the work doesn't feel like work; it helps you find your purpose- this class made me a better person. It's college, people. You have to be responsible. Also, though her books are essential to passing they only cost $10 each.

Cemented my desire to be a screen writer. Helped me see films in a whole new light. Looked forward to every class and was disappointed when she canceled. As long as you put in the effort and enjoy what she's doing, you'll have a great time. Thought she can take her class a bit too seriously, but that's the worst I can say.

I absolutely enjoyed taking this class. Through her lectures and stories she transforms you into a better person. As long as you show up for the class, participate occasionally , READ THE BOOKS! (you won't pass the test without reading it and it isn't much), and take notes from her lectures, you will do fine.

Janet Farrel-Leontiou is the most incredible woman I have ever met in my life. Her class changed my life for the better and I carry her teachings with me every single day. I consider myself beyond lucky to have taken her class. I wish I could take a class with her every semester.

She's a really great teacher; I was able to learn a lot from this class. Her ideas are so thought provoking and inspirational. If you take college seriously at all you will reap the rewards from this class. Honestly an easy A but don't go in with that mentality. Attendance is mandatory but if you have a good excuse she's pretty understanding.

Professor Leontiou- Farrell is very nice but she is very tough grader. Personality I like her but she is very very demanding in her assignments.

I took this class a few years back and still think about her and the lessons she taught all the time. Class was like a therapy session in the best way. She had a way of explaining things I had thought about all the time. Always walked out feeling enlightened. She is such a special woman.

If you are hoping to find an environment where you can learn about yourself while receiving a top level education, you must find a seat in Dr. Leontious' class. It will be your first step to learning a whole new way of sending and responding to messages to others and to yourself.

Hands down the most dedicated professor I have ever had. She truly has a gift when it comes to teaching. Shes into her students taking life lessons out of her class and I respect her so much for that. She taught me a lot in one semester and gave me a new outlook on school in general. Dont slack, keep an open mind, and enjoy a great professor.

One of if not the most influential persons I have ever met. When Dr. Farrell Leontiou speaks to her students she truly sees them and hears them. She is a wealth of knowledge and the very personification of an educator. It is a gift and a privilege to sit in her classroom. If there were only more of her the world would be a better place.

Amazing professor. Classes are extremely lecture heavy. The class was really interesting, but if you don't like the class after the first few weeks, just drop it. She doesn't grade you on much, just one test we took and then our final paper. If you're not introspective, you'll hate the class. Highly recommend, Leontiou has some great discussions.

omg! the best teacher I've ever had. she made you understand everything and it took her long to make you realize how awesome life is. she makes you open your eyes to a new life and new beginnings. i almost cried at my last project because the class was ending and i was so inspired. i will never forget what she taught me!! take this class.

Interesting and fun course. Lots of reading, but I learned a lot. I learned new ways of seeing things. I didnt get the best grade in the world, but I learned a lot. I teach my friends what Ive learned. I recommend the course and the Professor. I have a learning disability and the Professor was very understanding. I laughed throughout the course.

This was an amazing class. I learned so much about communicating with people and effectively listening to people. Dr. Leontiou is a wonderful Professor. She truly loves what she does and it shows. If you read the required books and participate in class you will do fine. She is very fair and will help you if you ask. She cares about her students.

Com 101 with Professor Leontiou is a special class. Her passion for communication from a humanities perspective is inspiring and motivating. As in any college course, participation is recognized and encouraged, which is easy with such thought provoking material. It is a true gift to learn about the world that we can create with our own words.

Professor Leontiou is such an inspiring woman overall. I walked into her class with the mentality of "getting it over with" but little did I know her class would change me completely. Professor Leontious COM 101 class is a class that I think everyone should take. The class teaches about the power of the spoken word, and gives a fresh perspective on how your words and thoughts shape your life. It helped me regain my passion for school. If you engage with the class, you will get a lot out of it and get a lot from the professor.

Prof L. is one of the best professors you'll probably ever have. COM101 with her changed me. She doesn't just teach communication, but growth. She pushes you to be the best version of yourself by helping you find your own voice. Anyone that complains about the class simply didn't recognize that! The hw is reflecting on yourself. 10/10 recommend!!

This was my favorite class this semester. She an interesting experience & I learned a lot. She is a kind & respectful woman. However, she is not afraid to speak her mind. I admire that. You can gain something very valuable from this class. All you need to do is open up your mind and hear out the professor in every lecture. Make sure you take notes and read the books as well, the more you do the less difficult the final project will be.

My Experience at Nassau with Professor Janet Farrell - Leontiou was great. I enjoyed my time in her class.She really cares about her students. There were very few tests in her class but she keeps everyone involved and on track with her lectures. If you come into class ready to learn and contribute to class you will do great.

I absolutely loved this professor. She makes you realize things about yourself that you never realized before. She also speaks her mind; if she doesn't agree with you, she will say it. All you really have to do to pass her class is to do your hw and participate. I totally recommend!

Excellent profesor! She's tough but if you participate, you'll go far. There weren't papers, quizzes, or tests. You just had to do was come to class with an open mind and the willingness to listen and learn. In addition to writing a reflection after every class, reading one book, and reading her textbook and answering the questions it asks

She is an amazing professor and anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't taken the time to absorb what she teaches and apply it to their life. I have anxiety and I was super nervous about speaking up in class but I spoke to her about how I felt and she understood and gave me advice. She knows we are capable of much more than we think. I learnt so much.

She's tough, firm, very scholarly, but nice. Don't take this class thinking you'll get away with doing nothing.
