Personally, I thought this class was one of the easiest English classes I've ever taken. As long as you keep up with the reading and don't procrastinate too bad on your papers... you should do fine.

Prof Fetzer was a very fair professor and the previous post was right, she does have great legs and loves to kick her shoes off during her lectures - very sexy!

cool nice person, but somewhat of a hard grader. Never get on her bad side. You won't be happy

Ms. Fetzer is easily one of the best teachers in the UTSA English department. Ms. Fetzer really helped me become a better writer, and I think that anyone who wants to write well should take her class.

Awesome professor, she will exploit the writer out of you. One of the best professors I've taken ever!!!

Very intersting class. Class discussions are great but lots of writing. She grades very hard but a pretty good prof overall. I recommend her only if you like writing and are really good at it.

Shes really cool. Modern Pro. Understands you if you take time to go talk to her. Funny and is in love with Mustangs! Talk Mustanges and youll be on her good side for the whole semester.

Great teacher has interesting things to say about everything.

She was very hard, but she taught me a lot.

Ms. Fetzer is a really hard grader. But she is one of the only few professors who actually takes the time in reading her students papers. She really is nice and understanding but you must follow all her guidlines to do well in her class. Definitely do not slack off. She really taught me a lot and i'm very thankful I had her as a writing professor.

tough teacher. expect alot of reading and writing. dont get lazy, dont be tardy, and dont be absent. she hates that. tough tough grader. some papers would F's marked with X's in red ink. if u want an easy ride dont take her class.

shes a very helpful professor, already she has worried about my status as her student. I feel at home in her classroom, and the work is very laid out and understandable.

Great teacher! The class is tough and she grades hard, but a B is easily earned. She is a very funny teacher and entertaining. I recomend everyone to give her a shot. You'll learn something. She will improve your writing, she also gives extra credit stuff to help your grades. great teacher!

Hard teacher, do not be late or absent for class or she will penalize your grade severly. Expects a lot form you. When finished with her class, you will definitly be a better writer though. She was an editor for a long time so do not expect to write a paper before it is do, she will know.

She is an intelligent and interesting teacher. She expects a lot out of her students. She will make you work for your grade and you will write a bunch. Tough grader but she's cool.

Fetzer was a pretty good teacher all in all. She is super strict about being on time and not missing class, that would be my only real complaint. If you go to her before your paper is due and ask for help, she will remember and its good for your grade. Shes not too boring. I would have taken her again if she had tuesday thursday classes.

This lady knows her stuff! She must've been an editor because once you're done with this class, you are one good writer.Very insightful. Nothing is controversial, all is fair game. Felt like a modern philosophy debate sometimes it was awesome. Note: don't skip class, don't be late, and don't procrastinate. She smells last-min papers in a second.

Awesome teacher!i learned so much from her.by the end of the class you will be a writter-even an encredible one if u pay attention.don't miss the class, never be late, and do things ahead of time she can def. tell if u did and essay last minute!very helpful!i recommend taking her class!

Excellent teacher. Available for face-to-face assistance if you're having difficulty. Tough but fair. You get out what you put in - do your part of the work and you will be rewarded with better reading comprehension, writing skills, and the ability to critically analyze the material you read. Highly recommended!

Ms. Fetzer is a true professor. Very dedicated. She wants you to learn. In the very last day of the course, she said "you may forget what you learn in this class, but do not stop learning until the day you die." It was touching.

Awesome prof! My fave at UTSA by far, she really cares about her students and everything you do in class helps your understanding of reading/writing for your essays. She grades kind of harsh but it helps you in later essays. I would definitely recommend her if you actually want to learn

Fetzer is an AWESOME professor! She's kind of loco, but in a good way. She gives you chances to rewrite papers if you get less than a B which is great. She gives out so many chances to do well in her class. She even gives hints before she's going to give a quiz. Just make sure you keep up with the reading and do the papers. I have an A right now

very good professor...gives out a lot of reading assignments but never more than 3 pages long...gives lots of chances on the rewrites....even lets you rewrite the rewrite.....she may seem serious when you meet her but shes very cool...sports fanatic too (hint: write your papers about sports)overall great teacher and i recommend to take her courses

Really fun prof, but she is pretty hard. But if you follow directions perfectly, you will do just fine in her class! She keeps lessons interesting, and never assigns useless assignments. Pop quizzes that she hints at, overall pretty cool teacher!

Wonderful teacher with a great personality. She can be mean sometimes, but that's usually when people show up late to class. She is extremely helpful, and wants you to become a better writer. You get tons of time to write your paper. You can rewrite some papers if you get a grade you don't like, but dont make it a habit it wont be offered for all.

Rude, condescending, and strict. Don't be late or tardy or she will hate you for the rest of the semester. Not very understanding. Treats students like children. Unnecessarily critical. Hate her.

Professor Fetzer is awesome! BUT she does strict grading on essays, she does allow rewrites due the following week though, take advantage of those.Attendance is mandatory, but i promise you wont mind, her class is enjoyable. She's a kid at heart, and always makes funny faces when telling stories of her personal life. Interesting class. NO SLACKING

Prof Fetzer is an awesome teacher. She is a no non sense teacher. You can't pull the wool over her eyes. if you are a slacker, DO NOT take her class. No slacking allowed. She's tough but fair.

Not an easy course but you can expect to have a solid grasp on paper writing by the time you are finished. She treats everyone with respect and expects the same of her students. Do not try to get away with anything in her class she has no problem correcting students on the spot. You write several papers but none of them are very long (2-4 pages).

I had Ms. Fetzer for both comp I and II. She is fair but doesn't put up with lazy students. This is not a course you can skate through. If you put effort into your work it is possible to get a good grade. She is very helpful especially during office hours when she frequently edited and discussed my papers. she isn't easy but she is very helpful.

Janet Fetzer is a GREAT teacher,I have only had her for one semester but I definitely plan on taking her again!She gives pop quizs every day but they are easy&there are 5 major writing assignments.Hard grader but if you give her an early draft to review you will get an A.Lazy people,DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, she will most likely embarrass you.

Fetzer is one of my fave professors at UTSA. It's difficult to get an A, but I received one from hard work on the papers and attendance. Class discussions are interesting and we ended up going over the 50 minutes sometimes. Great prof! go to office hours if help needed.

Extremely straightforward and helpful. While attendance is mandatory, the 4 papers are easy. Miss Fetzer knows a lot of information and wants you to succeed. Had her for both WRC courses at UTSA.

Very interesting but hard class. Instructor seems to be strict but she is very helpful, and her instructions are very clear. Work hard, do what instructor tells you to do and you will get a reward at the end. She doesn't like lazy people.

She loves her students, she shares her life. BUT, grades like crazy!!! She will read the first few sentences and if it is not up to her expectations, she crosses the rest of the paper and gives you no grade. BUT, she does give a lot of rewrites. She gives a lot of chances but only cause she fails a lot of her papers.

THE most professional but sincere professor I've ever had the privilege of being under. The class to me was difficult, and her grading was difficult, but I appreciate it more than she will ever know. It was nice to know how to improve instead of getting a slapped on grade! Simply wonderful! It's not an easy class - do the work, and be open minded!

Class attendance is mandatory. Short readings assigned everyday, and "pop" quizzes over them. Though, she normally hints them to you. Class lectures are really interesting too. She really marks up your essay which is helpful. She never passes back our quizzes, and she claims we are doing poorly on them...but we don't know what we are doing wrong.

Fetzer is a good writing comp teacher. She grades essays pretty hard. She usually does rewrites though. You usually get to pick your essay topic. Readings are required because she will quiz you over them yet they can be interesting. Attendance is mandatory though. Overall, she is a good teacher to prepare you for the rest of college.

Wonderful comp instructor! She teaches you how to write well and relates material to the rest of your college career. She genuinely cares about the students in the classroom- she loves class discussion and she is interested in what the students have to say. She grades a bit hard on essays, so meet with her during office hours for help on drafts!

She is a very hard grader, but will make you a better writer. I hate writing, so I was not really interested in having a difficult professor. However, it was a helpful class. Allows rewrites, but it is frustrating. The class is difficult, but doable. But I did take a different prof for the second half and it was much easier.

Shes a great professor. I actually enjoyed her class even though its mandatory. Not an easy A!!!! You have to work for your grade.

Prof. Fetzer is a VERY tough grader. Must have the CompResearch book. I got C's on all 3 essays. Final exam was an essay as well, a reflective portfolio. She is helpful but takes a while to respond to emails. I was intimidated by her. I personally would NOT take her again as she ruined my GPA and now I am trying to fix it.

Ms. Fetzer... Don't forget, "Ms." or else she'll hate you for good. She's a good teacher however takes forever to grade and doesn't give the essays back on time for you to look over. I got 70s on all my papers, so I would recommend not to take her class if you want to get an A. She's funny, but way to hard to please.

Do not take this course if you want an A. She very reluctantly gives an A. In my class only 2 out of the 30 kids got an A. She is helpful and will review your essays for you, but it doesn't matter you're not going to get an A anyway. Also be prepared to read every night as she assigns pop quizzes just about every other class.

Ms. Fetzer is truly as hard professor, but she is one of the best professors I have taken! You do need to do your daily readings, and be prepared for a quiz everyday. She grades tough, but fair. If you turn in an early draft, she will give you great criticism and it usually makes your paper an A or a high B. Be prepared to work for your grade!

Fetzer is one of the best teachers currently working at UTSA. Bottom line. She grades tough, but does so for a reason. She builds you up to where you need to be. Will you Ace the class? Probably not. Will you become a better formal writer? Entirely so. She's quick witted, insightful, and very passionate. Forget the grade, this class is experience.

Don't listen to that person who's upset they failed her class. She is one of the best professors i have ever taken with. While her class is tough, you will learn A LOT.

Great professor, difficult but fair. I really enjoyed taking her course.

She keeps the class interesting and helps students develop their writing skills. Stay on top of assignments and turn in early rough drafts if you can because she will give helpful comments.I think Fetzer is the best professor I've had so far.

AHHH I LOVE HER SO MUCH!! I didn't have the highest grade, but I sure didn't fail. She's a tough grader, but gives amazing feedback! I'm very sad that her class for this semester was full, because I really wanted her :/ Not a boring class at all either

Intelligent, engaging, a VERY thorough grader with high standards. If you want an easy A, don't waste your time (in college). Prof. Fetzer requires class participation, reading the assigned readings (what a concept!), the ability to defend an argument and at least a high school level understanding of English. She's funny, too.

By far the best ELA teacher I have had, frequent in class arguments made the course exciting, Mostly liberal classmates (Prof is left-leaning, but objective) Me having to defend stances I don't support from MS Media quotes, very clear expectations and very strong adherence to them. Pop quizzes over reading are very easy.

Fetzer was and is an amazing professor. She works hard and enjoys her class, can't ask much more from a professor. You WILL have to read and you WILL have to work on your essays if you were to take her. I recommend taking her IF and ONLY IF you want to improve your writing, you will learn a lot from her.
