Dr Frick is a nice lady and the class isn't too bad but she is annoying as hell. If you take this class, be prepared to listen to her talk about her kids every five seconds. She is not as funny as she thinks she is... but she's also not the worst professor ever.
easy and you dont have to really go to class if you just read.
Dr. Frick isn't as easy as everybody says. Her tests can be in depth, and aren't simple definition questions. If you read, you should be able to make a B or better. She's a good teacher though and she makes it interesting-watch movies, guest speakers, etc. I liked how she interacted with the class often!
Dr. Frick's class isn't that hard if you read the material, but she is very unclear about her expectations and directions and her tests are tricky. Read the book and you will be fine, learn the main pts of the chapter and even the trivial ones, because her tests are ridiculously tricky. U don't have to go to class because her notes are rele general
her tests are quite difficult and even after studying I found that I didn't do so well on the tests. just be forwarned that do not take the class for an easy A, because you wont get it. On the plus, she is an extremely nice lady and makes the class is enjoyable. she loves her kids!
Dr. Frick is a badass professor. She uses humor to make the course content approachable.
I really enjoyed Frick's class. She is very funny and entertaining. The class is easy if you take notes, pay attention, and do the reading.
Take this class. If you do choose to go to the lectures they are not that bad, she mixes in humor and interacts with the students well. The test are all multi-choice and if you review the class notes and read you will get a B more than likly an A. She is also great about answer emails and posts on CT. She has answered several well past midnight.
Dr. Frick is not incredibly easy, but it's not too difficult to get an A. She's very straightforward about her tests and answering any and all questions. Her lectures are interesting and humorous and not at all hard to stay awake in. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking to take PSYC1101...just review the Modules well before tests.
I must be the weirdo on this page because I did not like Dr. Frick. Nobody that I knew liked her either. My test scores went up when I only read the book and did not come to class. She was unprofessional because all she did was talk about her kids which I could care less about. When I asked for help she told me to read the book! Yea...I did that..
I was really close to getting an A if I put a little bit of more effort to it. You have to read the modules everday!!!
I really don't understand how people would find her class even remotely difficult. My studying amounted to nothing more than reading the reviews at the end of the modules the morning of the exams. This tactic netted me a 96, 90, 78, and 90 with the lowest score being dropped. Needless to say, the class was an easy A.

This class was really great. THe teacher is really nice...she makes the lectures clear and is very helpful.I love her teaching style. Her tests are pretty easy. Reading the book helps alot! Overall I really liked her.
Frick is an amazing lecturer. She kept the class really interesting and always added anecdotes about her children since she specializes in that area. To get good grades on the tests you have to study the book a lot, going to lecture helps too.
frick is a great teacher and her tests were multiple choice and the focus is always on stuff she talks about in class. you could probably get away with just memorizing the notes, but i always read over the chapters. although attendance isn't checked, it's worth going to class- it's interesting. she drops your lowest test too.
I really enjoy this class. I am in the process of taking it but this class made me change my major to psych. So far I have made As on all the tests. Do read the chapters and show up for class- it really reinforces it. I really enjoyed this class. She is nice and interacts- which is a pleasant change.
Great teacher! Acutally look forward to class. Keeps class interesting with video's and interactive questions and examples. if you study for tests you will do fine. Very low key, interesting class. Would def recommend!
She really annoyed me. She kept talking about her kids and UGA women's basketball team. I pretty much know everything about Colin Frick right now, but I can't say the same thing about psychology. If you're looking for a VERY easy A, this is the perfect class. If you're a psychology major, better avoid her.
Mrs. Frick is a very fun professor. Her lectures are not boring by any means. She was personable, even though it was a 300 person lecture. Her tests are hard, and mostly book material, which she touches little on in lecture. Don't cram for her test, you will never do well!
She is a wonderful professor. Really great at explaining ideas. Her tests are challenging. She tells you to read the book and lots of people don't for the first test, but they soon learn.
Be leery of this lady. She is all nice and interactive in class, then smacks you in the face with very tough exams. You MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST read the textbook--NO ALTERNATIVES. Know the concepts and applications of them--don't just passively stare at notes the night before. READ THE TEXTBOOK!!!!!!!!
great class, i learned alot and had fun going to class. frick tells stories and is very personable without being a pushover. read the book but also take notes. i got an 84 on the first test and a 96 on the second. she is well respected in her field. labs are alot of busywork but i guess we won't have those next year anyway.
I really love Dr. Frick. She's very personable, and she gives lots of great examples of class material. I made 98, 92, 80, 96 on the exams with the lowest one being dropped (didn't read at all but went to class for the 80). You do have to read, but I found the book and her lectures to be really interesting.
Dr. Frick is a wonderful teacher. She is insightful & provides practical applications for the material. She is very passionate & easy to understand. Lecture notes are ppt, but she does not post them on WebCT. However, they follow the book exactly.
I was not impressed with this class--Dr. Frick is a nice lady, but she's all over the place. Nags us to get expensive clickers which she says we can buy back--we use them 3 times, stores won't take them back, and we get a measly 5 points extra credit. Lecture notes are useless unless you wanna hear a biography about her children. Must read text
She was a really nice lady and class was entertaining but her tests are hard. READ the book! every sentence! class notes are almost useless because she just goes along with the textbook. not an impossible class but not an easy A at all
i loved this class! she always kept my attention the whole time- i never got bored. as long as you go to class and read the book (read everything- she even uses picture quotes), you'll be fine!
I enjoyed this class. The teacher makes everything interesting. However, YOU MUST READ THE BOOK. Her tests = the book. If you do that, you should get an A or B. I read the book, took notes, and got an A. She also dropped our lowest test grade.
I loved this class. Dr. Frick had so much passion and really made me want to learn about the subject matter. The tests were fine. No tricks, just study the articles for class. Take her!!
Dr. Frick is really entertaining. She tends to go off on tangents about her personal life, but she always brings it back on topic eventually. Plus, she doesn't just read off of powerpoints. Her tests are thorough, but they're definitely fair. You have to study both class notes and the book to do well. If you do this, you can definitely get an A.
Dr. Frick is a sweet lady who is a great professor. She always relates the material to her personal life, but sometimes that makes things become more clear! Her tests are sort of difficult, and really the only way to do well on them is READ READ READ. Her notes basically outline the book, but she's still a great teacher! Love her!
I enjoyed this class a lot. She's funny and her lectures are interesting. The tests aren't that hard as long as you read the book, and the book she chose for our class was very clear and easy to read.
Excellent teacher and class is not that hard. I went to class every day because she does lecture on some things not included in the book and tests over them, but it is definitely possible to get an A and not attend class. READ THE BOOK - I cannot stress this enough.
It is completely obvious Dr. Frick loves teaching and loves psychology. She makes class interesting. Her tests are difficult. The powerpoint stuff isn't really important. READ THE BOOK! The only way to make an A is to read the book and outline the chapters yourself. Class is only important when she plays films because they WILL be on the test.
Dr. Frick is a nice woman. I would only recommend this particular class, however, for Psychology majors. You HAVE to read every single word in the book to make an A in the class. Her notes and power points are pointless and the only point in coming to class is to watch the short films which are guaranteed to be on the test.
Dr. Frick is a good teacher. Her class and lectures were always helpful. Reading the book is a MUST in order to pass. I would reccommend her. Discussions were interesting and she was always available for help via office hours, after class, and very prompt with e-mail.
Dr. Frick is a good teacher. Her class and lectures were always helpful. Reading the book is a MUST in order to pass. I would reccommend her. Discussions were interesting and she was always available for help via office hours, after class, and very prompt with e-mail.
Dr. Frick is a good teacher. Her class and lectures were always helpful. Reading the book is a MUST in order to pass. I would reccommend her. Discussions were interesting and she was always available for help via office hours, after class, and very prompt with e-mail.
It was obvious that Dr. Frick loved teaching - her lectures were very engaging and she was a good speaker. Her tests, however, were very hard. You have to read EVERY part of the book (even side notes) to do well on her tests. She lets you drop your lowest test grade so that was nice!
Great teacher with enthusiasm! Tests are generally easy. Go to class and follow the assignments and you will definitely get a good grade! lectures are great!
Dr. Frick is a really good professor. My only complaint is that she didn't keep up with grading the assignments. I didn't get all of my grades until the day final grades were due. It's kind of hard to know if you're doing things correctly if you don't get your grades until the class is over.
It was very interesting class. She is funny (always has a joke in the beginning of the class).
This honors class was a great intro to psychology though it convinced me to drop my psyc major. Tests have tricky wording, but class is interesting. Dr.Frick is a bit scattered brained so it is difficult to always know what assignments are and when they are due. Throughly reading the textbook is a must!
This was an honors class with only about 15 students. The subject matter is fairly easy and to do well on tests you need to read the book and memorize main concepts and vocabulary. Many assignments allow for subjective grading so be sure to participate in class, which is probably the best way to get on Dr. Frick's good side.
She's a great teacher! She's funny and tries to make lecture as intereting as possible. READING IS A MUST! If you want to do well don't just depend on lecture notes, you HAVE TO read the book if you want a good grade on the tests. Overall the material wasn't difficult it was just a lot to learn at once but it is totally possible.
Dr. Frick is outgoing & personable. Tests are m/c & short answer & weren't too hard if you read all of the chapters, which is a MUST b/c her lectures are mostly conversational/stories of her experiences & the covered content in class is sparse. Attendance taken thru random inclass assignments. Overall, good class to take
Dr. Frick is super funny. The class is enjoyable. There is a lot of reading but she tells you what to focus on and what you don't have to read. The TA always gives a study sessions. If you put in the effort you'll do fine.
TAKE IT. she is awesome and makes the class enjoyable. If you keep up, its not hard at all!
Dr. Frick is funny and makes the class interesting. There is a lot of group discussion, and the class follows powerpoint notes. She covers most of the material in class, but you DO have to keep up with the reading in order to pass. Attendence isn't mandatory but she asks questions on the tests about videos she showed in class.
Wonderful professor. Notes and exams are straightforward and she makes the class so engaging and interesting. READ THE TEXTBOOK. You will not do well if you don't as she does not lecture on every point in the book. No attendance taken, but there are a handful of in class assignments, like writing a summary. LOVED HER CLASS!!
Favorite teacher of the semester! Definitely loves to teach, and always makes sure you understand the material. Definitely read the book-- she doesn't lecture on everything. Tests can be challenging, but she gives you a "Not-Study" guide and several hw and quiz grades and drops lowest test. TA was AMAZING!!
She was a great teacher with lots of energy and good at explaining concepts during class. However, her tests were HARD. I made C's on the first two tests and then finally started making B's after going to the extra study sessions held by the TA. She does drop the lowest test grade though. YOU MUST READ EVERY CHAPTER OF THE BOOK!!
She's such a great teacher. She has a wonderful attitude. She tries different media to help you learn like videos and class discussions (that are ACTUALLY interesting). She makes it really easy to learn. Best part, is she gives you study guides that SPECIFICALLY tell you what to study! You're never over studying.
Dr. Frick is great professor and knows how to engage the whole class in lecture. She shows a lot of videos and just has a great personality. I wish she taught all my classes! If you need PSYC1101, taker her class!!!
Amazing teacher. Frick makes learning Psychology so easy and fun! She's hilarious and makes the lectures more than tolerable. Tests are based on lectures though and she does not post powerpoints online so going to class is necessary BUT she almost makes you want to go to class.
Frick is by far one of the best professors I've had at UGA. She is engaging and her lecture style makes you want to attend class. There was a period when I had to miss a lot for work, but she is so clear with the course material so it did not jeopardize my grade. I HIGHLY recommend this class for all you non-psych majors. I loved it.
4 easy tests, comes pretty much straight from her lecture. Need to read the book if you want an A, but you could easily make a B without it. Very fun and interesting lectures. I thought it was a super easy class, and I highly recommend her!
She starts off the first 30 min of class with nonessential "housekeeping." She does not assign reading until the last minute. She covers barely any content in class. She is very passive aggressive. She does post study guides that are very helpful. She often goes on tangents that barely pertains to the topic.
Textbook was free and online! Lectures are actually pretty interesting. Participation matters in that there are scattered "attendance grades" throughout the semester in the form of brief in-class assignments. Read the book to get an A on the tests - they're relatively easy and clear-cut.
Professor Frick was my favorite teacher by far! Her lectures were entertaining for sure. The tests are challenging simply because a lot of material is covered, but if you study you won't fail! Absolutely recommend
The class is mainly in class group activities and discussions. There is little to no lecture. There is reading due for every class. This class is an overall good class but be prepared to do a lot of reading and no real lecture.
Be prepared for a good amount of reading each week. It was frustrating because Dr. Frick did not update the reading schedule frequently toward the end of the semester, and I was behind as a result of her lack of updating the reading on time. Also, don't be surprised if she posts the reading for a Tuesday class at 1:00 A.M. that Tuesday. Just saying
Dr. Frick is passionate and hilarious. TEXTBOOK IS FREE. Important to read, for sure. Although the in class activities seemed a little useless, it made the class more interesting rather than just a lecture. TAKE HER. TAKE THIS CLASS. IT'LL BE GREAT. I easily made an A+ without studying that much. Went to class, took notes, and read!
Be prepared to teach yourself the material. This class is basically an online course. We used a new textbook this year which was FREE and it was great, but we never used it in class. You pretty much teach yourself everything you need to know for the tests. Her lectures in class can be entertaining and helpful, for sometimes we have powerpoints.
I LOOOOVVVEEE Dr. Frick! She is an absolutely amazing teacher. She is super funny and always wants to help and has good in-class activities. For her class, you will have to do all of the reading and take in class notes, otherwise you will not do well. I highly recommend her class and would definitely take again!
I am an engineering major taking a psychology class for a core requirement and I felt like I spent the most time on this class than any other. She does assign a lot of reading that you have to do to pass because she teaches close to nothing during class but instead chooses to do useless group activities that taught me nothing.
Professor Frick is a very nice teacher. PSYC 1101 does require a lot of reading so be sure to keep up. Her lectures entail in depth material of the material in the book. You do have quizzes over what you read and about 5 tests as well. She is very comical and makes her lectures interactive and fun. If I could take again, I would.
Frick was honestly pretty great. The textbook she gave us was free online. In class she constantly made it fun and relatable, like showing clips from the Office or making us make brains out of play-dough. Her tests are many and pretty tough, but she drops the lowest two. You have to read A LOT, but it's worth it. Definitely would take again.
Pretty scatterbrained but overall a very nice professor. The material is interesting and the class is fairly easy. She usually gives a study guide for each test. Doesn't take attendance but every once in a while she will have a little in class group assignment for a participation grade.
I love Dr. Frick! Not only does she have great knowledge on psychology, she also makes our lectures engaging, fun, and full of content. She drops our lowest teat score and the final is optional, because she wants us to succeed. You do have to work for a good grade (read your FREE textbook, and pay attention/take notes in lecture) but its not hard.
Dr. Frick is hilarious! Her lectures were a lot of fun and I definitely enjoyed them. The class does have a lot of reading and there are a lot of test (but she let's you drop 2 test scores and the final is optional so it's ok) but the material is really intersting and the text book is free! Would recommend!
By far the best professor at UGA! Be ready to do all of the out of class readings, or else you won't pass the tests. I would not call this an "easy A" class. She is such an interesting professor, and it is not a normal lecture class, since it has many group activities. She really cares about her students.
She's the best teacher I had this semester. She is super good at making lectures not unbearable and the quizzes are online and super easy. The material on the tests is pretty straight forward, but you're going to have to study and read to get a good grade on the tests. Final was optional and she dropped our lowest test grade.
Dr. Frick was amazing and SUPER funny! Although I sometimes struggled with some of her test (which was probably on me for not studying enough) she drops a lot and helps you out as much as she can. We got to drop 2 test and 2 quizzes. Lectures aren't extremely important to attend but she sure does make them interesting!
Her lectures really do not do a good job at teaching the material that is going to be on the test. A lot of it is reading on your own, and then you do not know exactly whats going to be on the test. She is fun, lectures are always entertaining.
Dr. Frick is a really solid professor. In a lecture class, it's easy to get lost, but Dr. Frick took the time to pay attention to everyone. Reading the textbook is a MUST DO, because everything isn't gone over in class. Reading the textbook almost guarantees an A, but taking details notes an proper studying is essential as well.
I love Dr. Frick! Easy A as long as you show up to class and keep up with the work. She dropped two of our lowest tests, which could also be the final, and gave extra credit.
Professor Frick is super generous with tests and extra credit. Although her lectures weren't very helpful in preparing for exams, they were super entertaining! And as long as you read the textbook thoroughly you should be prepared for tests. My only complaint is that she was unorganized, often posting study guides and quizzes at the last minute.
I love Dr. Frick!! She is so caring about her students, dropping two tests grades (one could be the final) at the end of the semester. She is a crazy woman and never fails to make you laugh. The tests can be difficult, because she does not really teach test material in class. Just read the book though and you'll be fine. Highly recommend!
tests are 80% of final grade, but she drops lowest test grade and final is optional. Tests are easy as long as you read the textbook. Also drops quizzes and other assignments often. textbook is free online. lectures are engaging and inclusive. It feels like a talk show instead of class. Offers fun extra credit. Best 1101 professor you can take!
Dr. Frick is very reasonable. Reading is required to make an A, but the books easy to follow. Participation activities in lecture to hold attendance accountable and she assigns quizzes over the reading. She is very nice and enjoys talking to her students and makes it fun. She doesn't post her slides online so make sure you go to class to get notes.
Dr. Frick has to be one of the best professors at UGA! Her lectures are insightful, and she makes them interesting by using funny videos and pictures to teach hard topics. The class does require you to read the assigned chapters (and there are a lot of them), but it is doable. Overall, she is phenomenal! TAKE HER CLASS!
Great professor! She was interesting and so willing to go the extra mile to make the class convenient for everyone. She was incredibly organized and does everything she can to make sure you get the grade you deserve. She was easy to listen to - the class is super interactive. Go to class though - lots of small graded assignments!
Take this Professor! She is an amazing teacher with really interesting lectures. the exams are detailed, but if you study you will do fine. 10/10 recommend!
Dr. Frick is amusing, but she tends to ramble on and doesn't give very detailed lectures. If you don't read the book, you won't pass the tests. Attendance isn't "mandatory" but she gives group assignments a lot and you have to be there to get the credit.
She was one of my favorite professors. Very kind and Very funny. Has wonderful lectures and makes classes very interesting. The tests aren't easy but if you pay attention and keep up with the reading they aren't hard. I would definitely take her again!
I thought I was gonna love this class, but ended up being really bored. It was an easy A, and the tests were all multiple choice with an optional final.
Lecture mandatory because she has in class activities where you are in a group. Has 6 tests but will drop two lowest test scores, final is optional. wording on test can be very tricky, but gives study guide for each test except final. Gave us extra credit for dressing in a halloween costume ; 2 extra points to our lowest test grade. An A is possibl
Pretty cool
Great professor, would totally take again. Do the usual studying for tests and quizzes are online and easy.
everybody knows she's basically the best intro psych professor. Hilarious, great lecturer, homework quizes are a good grade buffer. Her tests are rly straightforward, 1 of 4 gets dropped, final is optional. I'm taking her courses on development next & her research on infants is rly neat
Dr. Frick is an amazing teacher. You get to pick groups and in those groups you have to complete some in-class assignments. She gives you a study guide before each test which tells you the exact things you need to study. One test gets dropped and that includes the final exam as well. Take Frick !!!!!
Dr. Frick is very passionate, but she uses this intro class as an audience for her personal life and anything else she has to say. The entire test is the readings except for a couple of questions, but usually those are in the book too. Make sure to watch any videos she posts and DO the study guide. She'll usually tell you when the group work is.
Dr. Frick is a blessing. I love her lectures and she's very friendly and funny to everyone in class. She teaches psych through both textbook material and personal events. She loves class discussions too.
Dr. Frick is amazing! She's hilarious and is genuinely interested in what she's teaching and getting your attention on it too. A lot of her teaching style is to teach the info through experience which is great if you remember info by examples. Always read the book, take notes, & follow the study guides she gives and the test will be a breeze
Janet is literally the best teacher there is! Not only is she funny but she also is a really good teacher! While attendance isn't mandatory, some days there will be group activities for a grade, but she usually tells us in advance.
Dr. Frick is awesome! Her lectures are interesting because she is really funny and laid back. Reading the text book is important for getting an A but it's free and online! There are four tests and a final but you can drop one of them. 15 quizzes (again, you can drop one), and in class assignments. I really loved this class.
You read so much for this class. She lectures about the book, so you think you'd be okay, well you won't be. you legit have to read to do good. a good majority of the test questions come from the readings. she drops one test and it can be the final. tests make up 80% of your grade, so don't mess up on one or it will be hard to bring your grade up.
You can tell she really enjoys Psychology and loves teaching it. A lot of days are lecture where you take notes, but even though it is a lecture class we did activities often in groups. There are online quizzes every week/every other week that are very easy. The material was interesting, but the tests were very hard. Definitely take good notes.
Great teacher. Really understands psychology well and does a great job of explaining it. You gain a wonderful fundamental understanding of it; even teaches good current life skills like managing stress, the psychology of learning, and the best ways to study. Go to class and take good notes. Semi-weekly chapter quizzes before the lecture
Professor Frick's class is easy as long as you put in the time to read and understand the textbook. It is not necessary to go to class as most of her lectures are summarizations of the textbook, but you need to know more than a summarization to do well on the tests. She is funny and entertaining and makes it easy to get an A if you put in effort.
I really enjoyed Frick's class! The book was online/free, the final was optional, and the tests weren't too bad if you read the chapters. She's funny and very knowledgable in the subject of psychology. I would take her again if I could! Pretty easy A, but I also learned a lot!
Dr. Frick is an amazing professor. The textbook she uses is free and online. There are many grade opportunities, and the final is optional. However, her tests are extremely in depth, and if you do not read every word of the chapter, chances are you will miss a lot on the test. Dr. Frick cares about Psychology and her lectures very much!
This class sucks if you are someone who needs one on one attention, questions, etc. She is not available outside of class and lectures every class period. There is very little extra credit offered and the grade is largely determined by tests. She does let you drop your lowest test though which is nice
Dr. Frick is awesome. She makes class fun and enjoyable. If you study and take good notes it's not hard to get an A.
Dr. Frick is an incredible professor. Not only does she make psych 1101 fun by doing Kahoot quizzes, we also got to construct playdoh brains in her class. She is very lecture heavy and her tests aren't easy. she is available outside of class for help and is extremely sympathetic to things going on in students lives outside of class.
She's super easy going and fair! You do need to read but if you do you'll be fine on the tests.
Dr. Frick is an amazing professor. She loves what she does and it shows through her teaching. Frick provides you with everything you need to succeed, but you do need to put a little effort into it. I definitely enjoyed the class, the assignments were really easy, and attendance isnt always mandatory. Overall, easy class and great takeaway.
Her lectures rarely cover what's on the exams and exams count for 75% of the total grade. They're pretty hard so you really need to study and a paper is due at the end of every week. Never talk to her in person, always talk via email as if she doesn't have physical proof of a conversation she will forget it happened.
Prof. Frick is AMAZING. Not only is she hilarious, but she makes the class super enjoyable. I definitely looked forward to class every week. Be prepared to read if you want an A in the class.
Dr. Frick is frickin awesome!!! This class is so easy and the textbook is free. All you have to do is read and youll do well on your tests, honestly you dont even have to come to class BUT Dr Frick makes class worth coming to!!! She is so funny
The best professor. She is hilarious with great lectures. She usually does not have time to go over everything in class but she gives study guides to tell you what you have to read. If you read and take notes and go to class it is a super easy class and the tests will not be hard. If you do not read you will probably not get As on tests
Easy if you read the book and study her study guides. Class isn't mandatory, but sometimes there are group assignments. She has online quizzes like every other week (answers are easily found on quizlets online). 2 easy papers that i'm pretty sure everyone got a 100 just for doing it. Drops one test (can be the final), and one quiz or paper!!!
Super funny and knowns exactly what she's talking about. Keeps lectures intriguing through various methods. You don't even have to attend class to pass (because of the FREE textbook) but I enjoyed going anyway. If you're great at multiple choice you will thrive in this class, but I struggled only because I'm not good at it. Lenient towards grading.
Dr. Frick is the best professor. 10/10 would take again. The class is honestly easy, just go to lecture and read the book. If you read the book and pay attention in class an A is so easy. The class itself is super fun as well, she is really funny and extremely knowledgable. TAKE FRICK!!!
Professor Frick was hands down my favorite teacher this semester. She is super caring and knows exactly what she's doing. The class was difficult just because of the material that it covers but she makes it easier and really helps out students who are having trouble. All around she's a great person and a fun professor.
Dr. Frick is the best! One test drops, including the final so you may not have to take that. One quiz and in-class activity also drops. It's a lecture class but she does her best to make them interesting, either through in-class small group activities or personal stories that are funny and relatable.
This class is a lot of memorization with lots of reading. If you don't read and take notes from the book, you can expect to not do great on the exams. She drops the lowest exam, quiz and in class assignment so that is a huge bonus. Class isn't mandatory but her notes are good even though lectures can get boring and she has pop-up assignments.
Okay, Dr. Frick is an AMAZING person and so caring but I wouldn't take her as a professor. She's always "behind" on teaching because of the obnoxious amount of unrelated stories/examples that drags on for most of the class. Never available outside of class nor were her lectures any different than the book. I finished an English paper once during it
Dr. Frick is awesome! She seems to really be interested and care about what she teaches. She's funny and approachable. It's important to go to class bc she teaches a lot of info in lectures, and there are some group activities. Tests are a difficult if you don't read the book, so read it. Overall great class though
Dr. Frick is really great. Her class is very lecture heavy, but she does try her best to keep them interesting with her stories and examples. That being said, her lectures can get a little boring and repetitive. As long as you read the textbook (which is free by the way), and you take notes in class, it should be relatively easy.
Great personality and interesting material. This class is kind of hard though, especially if you haven't taken a college course before. She spends a lot of classtime with stuff not related to the course like personal information. But she is clear on stuff thats on the tests. Gives good study/reading guides and gives opportunity for ?s before tests.
Professor Frick's class was probably my favorite of my first semester of college. I found the material from class pretty easy and really interesting. There is quite a bit of reading, but the textbook is free and not many out-of-class assignments. Really funny anecdotes and easy grader. She gives less work than Welsch. Lowest test grade dropped!
This class is very fun regardless of anything. She's very chill and class is fairly interesting. Tests are very textbook-heavy, but you get to drop a test in the end. Very easy class
Dr. Frick seems like an alright person. However, she spent a total of 15 minutes of an hour and 15 minute class period to talk about the material for the test we have in less than a week. She spent the rest of that hour speaking about random off topic things. I'm paying to learn about the material, not off topic things for an hour.
Dr. Frick is awesome. She really cares about you and things you tell her. She makes class fun and enjoyable. If you pay attention, participate, and study, you will be perfectly fine. She does post a lot to read for this class though, and it really helps for the test.
Get ready to outline a textbook. Her lectures reinforce these concepts. She is an amazing person and she gives a drop test.
Most of class is discussion about unrelated topics, lectures are basically just book headings (doesn't go into much detail), book is most of the test, so MANDATORY. She says she'll post reading guides which is nice, but doesn't do so until a few days before the test so get ready to cram. Our final is today and we still don't know 20% of our grade
I took Prenatal Development (PSYC 5100) with Dr. Frick, who is so genuine, for a 1 month summer course. There was no textbook, so she assigned readings every night to prepare for the next day's class. Dr. Frick always chose interesting, relevant and poignant readings to spark great discussion. Fast paced, but not overwhelming. Highly recommend!
Awesome professor. Gives lots of assignments to boost your grade and keeps class interesting. Going to class helps and there are random group assignments in class. Quizzes on elc for every chapter that help review for tests. She drops a test and that can include the final. Overall great professor, highly recommend.
Dr. Frick is a great teacher! The lectures did not help me very much for the tests, and most of the material from the test comes from the book. She is a caring teacher and wants everyone to do well and tries to make sure that happens! Very outgoing, entertaining teacher to have as well. Just READ, READ, READ!
Dr. Frick is amazing. I absolutely love her and class and enjoyed coming to class because of her. She lectures but most of the test is from the textbook, so read it and you will be alright. She gives extra credit on the occasion. Attendance isn't mandatory but it is better to go because some things that she lectures about shows up on the test.
Dr. Frick is great, she's funny and very informed on the topic. The class is hard though, you have to read the textbook and if you don't go to class you probably won't do that well even though she doesn't take attendance. She's also not super available outside of class.
Frick is really cool but not the most organized person. To get A's, you absolutely need to READ AND GO TO CLASS!!! Lectures are different from readings and you need to know both for tests. She cares a lot about students. She lets you drop one test which can even be the exam. Just get ready to put a lot of work in if you want the A.
Her class is not terrible but her grade scale for an A is very high. She wastes a lot of lecture time, but her study guides are very helpful regarding what material is needed from the textbook. She gives a droptest which can include the final. She is a great professor, but not as great as a lot of people say.
Overall, PSYC 1101 with Frick was quite easy, the only difficult things were her tests, but she has a lot of cushion room for you to do well. If you put in the work you can easily get an A. I would recommend her. Only downside is she can sometimes be a bit disorganized here and there, but nothing horrible.
Dr. Frick is an incredible lecturer, a lenient grader, and very fair. The only thing that made this class difficult was the threshold for an A was a 94. However, she does provide a lot of extra credit. If you are going to take an intro PSYC course, I would definitely take it with Frick.
Janet Frick is by far my favorite professor ever. Even though it was a large lecture class, she took the time to get to know me and care about me. As a psych major, I can promise you I will be taking one of her classes again. You need to read the textbook and attend class but by far the most interesting and funniest professor you'll have at uga.
Dr. Frick is the most caring teacher I have ever met. She cares so much about her students and makes sure that everything is fair. She is pretty funny as well and makes learning about Psychology interesting. Shows a lot of videos in class and makes class feel more like a social function than a real class. Dr. Frick is GOATED.
I love Dr. Frick! I have taken 3 of her classes and they've all been wonderful. Her lectures are very interesting and it's easy to stay engaged. She adds a lot of her own stories which are always funny. She's super helpful and caring, so I always felt like I could come to her with questions. Take her if you can!!
If you can, take Professor Frick! Shes amazing and shes so sweet. I can promise that if you have her for second semester, she will give you minimal work and no required attendance on the week that was supposed to be spring break. Shes so helpful and understanding when you submit things late too. Overall, an amazing person.
Dr. Frick is the best professor I've had at UGA. Going to her class is not only informative but fun. She is lenient on grading while still being fair. You do need to do a lot of reading but if you do your reading you should pass the class. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Frick is the best professor I've had! Her lectures are very interesting and the outside work isn't too much. She cares a ton about her students, especially during COVID.
Dr. Frick is a wonderful professor! Not only is she passionate about what she teaches, but she clearly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Her lectures and interesting and informative, and the textbook we used was free! Most of the work involved quizzes straight from the textbook, and the tests are easy if you pay attention and read
Dr. Frick is really caring about her students but she's side tracked and lectures were usually a waste of time. She would never set due dates and failed to do additional lectures she promised. Her grading scale is CRAZY and she refused to round my grade .55 to have an A in the class despite me attending every class and completing all the work.
Dr. Frick was my favorite professor my freshman year. I had her during the covid pandemic, and she was extremely understanding. I learned so much from her class, and I wish I could take it again. While she can be a little disorganized sometimes, she really cares for her students, and she wants us all to do well, so it doesn't impact us.
I really enjoyed Dr. Frick's class this semester. It was all online but it was enjoyable. Dr. Frick is very nice and understandable of student's situations this semesters. Tests are very textbook heavy!! Overall, very nice professor and fun class.
BEST professor I have ever had. Dr Frick always went out of her way to have extra office hours, answer emails, and stay after class to talk. There is a textbook required but she provides a link to the free online version. I love Dr Frick so much that I'm taking another one of the classes she teaches. I HIGHLY recommend!!
She was an amazing professor and an amazing person. If I can I will try to take more classes with her because she actually cares about how you as a student are doing rather than just teaching the material. I got an A- in the class but tbh if I had just tried harder by attending class and taking notes I could have easily finished with an A.
Dr. Frick was by far the best online professor I've had. She made learning via zoom interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed coming to class. There was lots of reading but the textbook was interesting. All of the tests were open book and the quizzes were easy. I seriously recommend this class to everyone!!!
Dr. Frick genuinely cares about her students & their physical/mental well-being. She cancelled class on Election Day bc we were stressed, and she makes sure to make lectures interesting. Tests werent too hard but you need to pay attention to the lectures to know everything. Quizzes were reading based. The textbook she uses is online & free.
I'd definitely take her. Solid choice. Super funny in class and cares about her students. Gives study guides for all tests that are so helpful. We have a groupme with her and she's hilarious and connects well with students. I really like her. Tests count a lot and can be very hard if you don't study. All multiple choice though, so not too bad.
Dr. Frick cares so much about her students its quite possibly unmatched. She listens to us, moves dates if we are too stressed, and is engaging in lectures. Her exams are hard if not studied for properly, but nothing that is impossible if you study. Highly highly recommend her class, and if you don't end up taking it, still try and meet her:)
I suggest Dr. Frick she is such a sweetheart. Class is not mandatory, but I suggest going or watching the recorded lectures because a lot of the questions on the tests are from lectures only. Read the textbook and take notes, do the study plan quizzes (which are easy), and don't get behind, and you will get an A.
Dr. Frick is an amazing teacher, she lectures well and often includes that information on her tests. There is a lot of reading to do but often she just wants the general idea however, she might be a little over specific sometimes. 4 tests including the final, one dropped. Two papers, fairly easy As. Just read and take notes in lecture.
Dr. Frick is genuinely so sweet and I looked forward to all of her classes. The study plans and quizzes are really useful for actually learning the content, and I was able to get A's on every exam by using them (even though I am not a science student usually). Go to lectures and use her study guides to prepare for content on the exams- they're fun!
Professor Frick is so cool and really does care about her students. The class is really easy if you just do your bare minimum reading and mostly pay attention in class. Definitely recommend if you just need an easy intro course
Dr. Frick is the most amazing professor at UGA. TAKE HER CLASS! She actually cares about her students mental health and she makes the 300+ person lecture class feel like a small class. There are 4 tests and the lowest grade is dropped, and that includes the final. She is the best, take her class.
Love, love, love Dr. Frick. She made Psychology a really great class for me, and was able to make a lot of hard concepts feel really easy. There are a good bit of assignments, but they are all pretty simple and straight-forward. Just be sure to make a Quizlet or something similar for tests and you should get an A in this class.
Dr. Frick is great! She is very understanding and extended deadlines a few times when the class was overwhelmed. Her lectures are very interesting and definitely prepare you for the test. The textbook readings and quizzes are also helpful. Test are easier than most of my other college tests and she drops your lowest. Overall great class!
SHE WAS AMAZING. tests are very straightforward if you take notes in class you will be fine. drops one test, including final. weekly study plans and quizzes which are not hard.
Frick is a sweetheart, she can get annoying at times, but she cares about her students health. She often changes due dates if a lot of people ask. She drops your lowest test grade too, including the final. You will have to read the textbook though, which takes a good bit of time. Her tests aren't all that difficult though.
If you read the textbook, you'll be fine. The tests are multiple choice and mostly require rote memorization of terms and methods. The lowest grade of all tests, quizzes, and homework is dropped. Textbook and quizzes are online but the tests are in person. Frick is a kind, engaging professor who keeps lectures interesting and interactive.
Very nice and caring. The online textbook we used was very easy to use and was very helpful. Class lectures were digestible, however, some class activities were boring and just unnecessary. Overall good class and would recommend!
Dr. frick was def my favorite professor and really cared about her student's well-being.
Dr. Frick is super chill. Only two short short assignments all semester, and grading was pretty easy. Test questions come from the lecture, lecture comes from the book (but not straight out of). Everything you need to pass the class is online, but I still enjoyed going to lecture bc Dr. Frick would put a lot of her own personality into teaching.
Frick is a great professor and is very passionate about the topics so its interesting to attend lectures. Shes very nice and engages with her students outside of class as well. There were 4 tests and 2 essays with some weekly assignments, but they were all very doable. She gave out study guides for the tests and overall, its a fun class.
Dr. Frick is so caring and understanding. She is super easy to communicate with, has clear criteria for papers and tests, and overall wants you to do your best. She records her lectures so you can always go back if you can't make it to class. She is also pretty funny and engages a lot with her students!
Such an amazing professor!! Lots of reading but she made it really interesting and If you did the reading you would get a good grade, lots of ways besides test to boost your grade as well. Super flexible and my favorite teacher this semester, really cares about teaching
Amazing! The textbook was online and very cheap, and it had a lot of practice questions. While there was a lot of reading, her lectures were very entertaining! At the beginning of every class, she would ask an interesting question for us to talk about with neighbors. She's very lenient with her grading system; a test was dropped, for example.
If you want an easy and understanding professor, Dr. Frick is the choice. We used an online textbook so was not a huge fee for books. Her class is very low maintenance and she sends out study guides before every test. She does review in class and over zoom before tests. We had 2 papers and 4 tests but she gives extra credit and extensions on papers
Dr. Frick was amazing! Her lectures are very interesting and she makes the 300 person class seem small. The interactive classroom definitely eases the nerves. I would recommend coming to lectures as they are fun, and also prepare you for the test. Her texts cover both lecture materials and the textbook so be sure to stay caught up. Take her!!!!
Take Dr. Frick!! She's an amazing professor that truly cares about the success of her students. Her lectures aren't mandatory as you can get 90% of test answers from the book, but definitely go because she's very funny. Get ready to read and take notes from the subjects listed on the study guides as test can be a little challenging.
Professor Frick is such an entertaining lecturer. She just switched textbooks so some of our classes felt a bit unplanned or chaotic, but she really is an amazing teacher and person. In lectures, she always includes funny anecdotes to help us remember concepts and to break up all the information, but be ready for lots of out of class reading.
Her lectures were useless, and the tests were hard.
Frick was great!! She made a 300+ person intro class feel like a 30 person class with her humor and cheerfulness. Content is not hard, but it does require more reading than I thought. She is SO caring, though, so I wasn't bothered by it too much. She is incredibly accommodating, and pushed back multiple assignment deadlines for us. TAKE FRICK!!!!!!
Take this PSYC 1101! Tests and assignments can be difficult but are super reasonable if you study. In order to get an A on tests, you have to read the textbook. Her lectures are interesting and funny but not always necessary for success.
I LOVE Dr. Frick. She's incredible. Her lectures are hilarious and she made the 300 person lecture class feel like 20 people. You will need to read a good bit of the textbook for the tests, but the content isn't hard. I can't say enough good things about her. She's lovely.
Dr. Frick is such a kind, engaging instructor who really cares about her students. Her lectures are interesting and concise. You'll have to read the textbook for a more in-depth understanding of the material, but all the assignments really serve a purpose and help you connect the dots. I can't recommend Dr. Frick enough!
Dr. Frick is an amazing professor!! There are a lot of textbook assignments, but they really do help you study for the tests. Tests can be a little difficult, but if you go to class and read the book you will be fine. She's so sweet and funny and tries to get to know her students which is what I love about her.
Dr. Frick is one of my favorite professors. She genuinely cares about each student, providing resources for us, both academic and extracurricular. I took her class during the midterm election, and she provided regular reminders during the first few minutes of class for us to go vote. Keep up your Achieve (online) assignments, and you'll do well.
This class definitely wasn't all it was hyped up to be. Lectures weren't the most engaging, assignments didn't feel intentional, and, as an upperclassman, I felt that exams were a bit challenging for an introductory level course. Nothing particularly good or bad about Dr. Frick's section, but I would opt for another professor if I took it again.
Her lectures are very interesting, but somewhat useless for succeeding on exams. The only way to do well on the exams is to read the text book, and the exams are very content heavy. She really cares about her students, but this class requires a lot of work. If I had to retake this class, I would probably opt for a different, easier professor.
Professor Frick is such a caring lady. Her lectures were also interesting and interactive and she is always trying to help her students. The only way to pass the tests is to read all the assigned chapters in the textbook, but going to class always helps
Professor Frick adds a lot of flavor to a pretty easy-to-understand course. Her lectures are fun and entertaining, although attending class isn't really necessary. Success in the course really depends on keeping up with the textbook. Although Frick could be disorganized at times, it was never detrimental to my ability to do well. I recommend her!
Takes a while to put in grades and to release what is going to be on the test, but provides all powerpoints from class, a study guide, and a meeting before the test for questions. Class is interactive and fun. Attendance isn't mandatory but tests are compiled of info from class and the textbook. Uses Achieve for other assignments easy 100s. STUDY
I would be surprised if anyone gets lower than an A in this class because it is so easy to do so. The easiest, no brainer choice for this class.
Great professor and overall an easy class. Lots of readings before each class and the Professor didn't respond to a single email of mine all semester. I would take again, but the lack of communication was annoying.
If ur not up to reading a whopping 1423 textbook pages for one semester divided up into 2 exams I would NOT take this class. 75% of grade is split by 2 exams (unless you take the final which divides it into 3). Each is based on roughly 600-700 textbook pages. Lectures suck and are useless. She never updates anything or is on time to posting on ELC
Dr. Frick is really kind, but her lectures do not really help with exams that much so I never went to class. Her class is 75% based on two exams, but if you read the book, you will do well. She is very sweet and understanding but can be hard to reach outside of class. Overall it is a good option for an upper-level psych class!
This was such a great seminar to end college with. she is extremely understanding that we are all seniors and made the class engaging and enjoyable while not putting too much work on us. there was only one presentation, a group annotated bibliography, and one test, and she is a fair grader. all of the assignments were easy and I learned so much
Loved her, her tests were funny and easy. Just go to class, and do the assigned work. I never read the book and always did well on the tests. There are two papers graded by the TA's and I unfortunately did not get a good one. Would definitely recommend.
Dr. Frick is awesome. She cares about her students a lot and keeps every lecture very interesting and easy to stay engaged. She wants you to do well and it's easy to if you get everything done. Tests can be kind of harder than you expect, but if you read the textbook (this one is not that bad) you'll be set. Definitely recommend her.
Dr. Frick is the best! She cares so much about her students and makes her class interesting and fun. There is a lot of reading for the class but she gives you plenty of time to complete the readings and questions with them. She provides plenty of material to review for her tests and they aren't too difficult. I would 100% recommend Dr. Frick.
Dr Frick is amazing! Her lectures are interesting and funny! There is a lot of reading but its doable. She also gives detailed study guides that tell you everything you need to know for the tests. It's obvious she cares about her students and wants them to do well. I really enjoyed this class and would recommend!
Dr. Frick is so knowledgeable and her lectures were so entertaining!! The only homework you'll have is textbook reading and answering questions embedded within. The tests aren't difficult at all if you read the text and pay attention during lectures. Definitely recommend this class!
Dr. Frick did an excellent job at making her class interactive and enjoyable despite it being a 3:55pm class. Her lectures were easy to follow, and her exams consisted of a combination of questions from the lectures and from the book. Most of her homework was reading and questions on TopHat (some multiple choice and some short answer).
The professor is super fun and interesting during lectures, but her tests are worth 70% of your final grade. If you are a bad test taker or have ADHD and struggle to pay attention during lectures, DO NOT take this class. I made 100% in every aspect of the class except for exams and it ended up lowering my GPA a lot.
Dr. Frick is a nice professor. She is sweet, understanding, and lenient. She dropped the lowest exam grade, the two lowest reading grades, and five absences. Though, her lectures can get boring, and the Top Hat readings are long (despite her cutting stuff down).
She was a good professor but was quite rude at times. Tests are 70% of your grade. She drops the lowest test and some of the attendance but you have to do amazing on the tests. Class is reading heavy
Class was actually too easy. You will pass the class as long as you are not on weed over 50% of the time in that class. She just doesn't start teaching the lecture until like 30 minutes into the class. Reminded me of high school.
Absoltuely incredible
Professor Frick is such a fun and outgoing professor. Her class is not extremely difficult, but to do well you need to read the textbook and pay attention to the tophat homework. Attendance is taken sometimes in class, but you can miss a day or two as some attendance grades are dropped. Overall a super fun class and great professor.
Frick is an amazing psych professor! Tests are 70% of your grade though so study hard for those. Luckily, Frick gives a study guide highlighting everything that will and wont be covered on the test so its easy to know what to review. She also drops 1 out of 4 tests grades (awesome). Also two papers, and textbook assignments but this class is doable
Dr. Frick is hands down the best professor I've ever had. Her lectures are always interesting, and she regularly interacts with the students during the lecture. Attendance doesn't make up too much of the grade, but 70% of the grade depends on tests, so be ready for that.
LOVED HER! She always had funny lectures that were interesting and informative. Very understanding too, I missed a test and she let me make it up a week later with no deduction. Her tests are difficult but manageable if you study and pay attention in class. Definitely recommend Dr. Frick for this course.
Dr. Frick is a great lecturer, and really cares about her students. She makes it clear from the beginning that you have to READ THE TEXTBOOK to do well in her class. Students that read the textbook and studied did perfectly fine in her class. I learned a lot about developmental psyc, and I'm glad I took this course with her.
She is very disorganized and does not communicate well with students. She will promise to post information and not do it for weeks or months. Assignments sit ungraded for 2 months minimum. Just avoid if you can. She is nice but doesn't have it together.
READ THE TEXTBOOK!!!! While her lectures were incredibly interesting and fun, most of the material tested came from the textbook. She is SO understanding and such an amazing person overall. You can tell she cares about her students and wants what is best for them. Take her if you can, but do not expect an easy A
She is extremely nice and funny, very very lenient, and extremely helpful too. Two exams do make up a big portion of the grade and they're a little tough, but nothing crazy if you study. Everything else is graded extremely easy just make sure you go to class so you don't miss points from in class activities.
She is a great teacher of psychology, very funny. My favorite class. Just study what she tells you to study and you will do great on her exams.
Dr. Frick's class is engaging, but the heavy emphasis on tests can be challenging. The textbook and TopHat assignments are important, but unstuck study was a game-changer for test prep. Overall, a rewarding course if you're willing to put in the work.
She isn't that clear and the lecture is simple and easy but the questions are more detailed and harder. She is slow to responding to emails...She is a nice person, but the tests seemed a little unfair and difficult since the lectures are short bullet points and pictures. She posts powerpoints pretty late too. No extra credit
She does everything in her power to prepare you for exams, she posts reading guides, study guides, and does a zoom review the night before the exam so we can ask questions. Theres not much work to be done outside of class, and attendance doesn't really matter, everything is posted online.
I LOVE professor Frick and couldn't recommend her enough. Her lectures are engaging, and she helps prepare us very well for the exam. Sweetest woman ever
I loved Professor Frick, she made lectures interesting. Attendance was not mandatory but there are a few in class activities that will be graded. 3 exams and a final. The textbook is free and online.
The class is pretty easy. The textbook is online and free but VERY important to read to do well on exams. She gives guided reading notes to help guide studying. I didn't think this class was very difficult and it was interesting at times. I would definitely recommend attending class to understand examples in class but it's not mandatory.
You'll definitely want Professor Frick for PSYC1101! Her lectures very engaging and brilliant. Exams aren't hard, although they require lots of studying to get an A+. She is one of the more relatable professors! There's many assignments, quizzes, and discussions throughout the semester, but they're very doable and actually interesting.
Dr. Frick is the easily best professor I had this semester! Lectures are easy to pay attention to, she is funny and keeps you entertained. Two easy papers spaced out thru semester. 3 exams make up your grade (3 midterms and a final, but your lowest is dropped so if you do well you don't have to take the final). I definitely recommend this class!
I love Prof Frick, she is truly entertaining in her lectures. She gave us an free online textbook for the class and she only wants you to read certain parts of it (based on her reading and test guides). This was an awesome class and made me debate switching my major to Psych.
Very interactive and lecture based professor. For the tests I would mostly rely on the textbook, just know all the bolded words definitions and the general concepts and you'll be fine. However sometimes she does test on things only talked about in the lecture so I would attend.
Tests are EASY if you are good at memorizing and attendance isn't mandatory. Didn't go to most classes (tho the ones I went to were very engaging and interesting). Lowest test score is dropped so the final isn't mandatory. Not very much homework. 2 papers grading criteria is very clear, not difficult to write (more observations than essay).
As long as you read the textbook & review her posted slides, you will do well. I never went to class & did well on all tests, papers & quizzes. She drops lowest test - so the final is optional - and tests aren't too hard anyway. She is hilarious & obviously cares so much about psychology and about her students. Take Dr. Frick!!!
Janet Frick is amazing. Her lectures are interesting/funny, her quizzes are online, and attendance is not mandatory. The tests take a lot of studying and outside reading, but that is pretty much the only outside work required. She uses a free online textbook, but it is a little bland. She also has an optional final because she drops the lowest test
Great professor but very textbook heavy. A LOT of memorization. 50q tests x3 and 70q final. Entertaining and mostly informative lectures. Content isnt hard at all, just a lot of it. TA's hold review sessions too. She is slow on emails though. Quizzes and the HW was v easy. I am salty though because she doesnt round at all and was 0.1 from an A.
She's very funny and cares about her students. She always stayed after class for people who just wanted to talk. Her lectures were always interesting and if you went to class, the tests and quizzes were very easy. Also the final is optional.
Professor Frick is easily one of the most caring professors at UGA. She not only provides tons of extra credit, but so, so much extra help if you ask her. I was initially struggling in her class, but she and the TAs helped me to improve my grade tremendously. Easy exams, phenomenal stories, and a hilarious and caring person.
Very very nice and makes lectures in a 300 person class feel smaller than they are. I could tell she knew what she was teaching and cares about her students, as she says that she won't make anything harder than it needs to be. Make sure to study and you will be fine
Probably the best professor I have had. She cares about students and the subject and makes such a large lecture feel small.
The course was not horrible but the tests were very tricky and I always studied hard and didnt do the best.
I love Dr. Frick! Her class does depend on a textbook, but she is clear on that from the beginning so just stay on top of that and you'll be good (It helped me when studying a lot!). She is very caring and her lectures provide lots of helpful examples. Only 2 main bigger tests and a final so definitely a good bit of studying but very manageable!
Great teacher. Although her lectures aren't mandatory, going defintely helps as some of the examples she uses can appear on exams. Exams are also fairly easy if you go over the powerpoints that she posts and skim through the textbook. Quizzes are taken online, no respondus, and are basically easy 100s. Tests are worth 70% of your grade so prepare.
This class was not hard! Three exams, short quizzes for every chapter, and occasional quick writing assignments. Attendance wasn't mandatory, but she did have in-class assignments sometimes. Her lectures were always very interesting and full of personal anecdotes. The only downside is that you HAVE to read the textbook to do well on exams.
Very knowledgeable professor with great lectures. However, tests weren't only from the lectures but also from the assigned textbook. She does tell you what parts to focus on though which was nice. Tests were in person with MC and short answer questions but they weren't overly hard. Other grades were quizzes, essays, and in-class activities
Tests were textbook heavy and lectures sometimes helped. Just a lot of memorization in terms of content. Frick was kinda disorganized when it came to grading and lectures. Personally, her lectures did not help me because I never knew if she was saying something important or as a fun fact. She's rlly nice though.
Dr. Frick is the best! While her tests do require you to study a decent amount, she's a very caring professor, and her classes were pretty engaging. There are some quizzes and two papers, but all were pretty easy if you just do the work on time. Dr. Frick would always crack jokes and leave funny eLC emails, which just made me enjoy her class more.
Dr. Frick is a great professor! Tests are 70% of the grade but are very straightforward and easy. Reading the textbook is kind of a lot but she makes it way easier with her reading guides. Two super easy essay assignments and easy weekly quizzes. She lectures very well and is very engaging. Take her!
Genuinely the sweetest woman ever!!! Her lectures always fly by, and half the time we get let out 20 minutes early. Her tests are pretty easy if you study. I studied 2 days before most of the time and got high As. She assigns readings from the textbook, but gives you a reading guide so you know what to study for the test.
Everyone should take psych with Dr. Frick! She is hilarious and I loved getting to go to her lectures this semester. The class does cover a lot of material, but if you study before the tests then you'll do well! Dr. Frick made all of the topics she taught so interesting, and I would take this class over and over again just to have her.
Love Frick. Her lectures are extremely enjoyable but unfortunately not too helpful with exams. If you do not read the textbook you will fail. She is hilarious and very sweet.
BEST PROF EVER. SO sweet and funny. A lot of the tests are solely what she puts on the lecture slides. A good amount also comes from the textbook, but she provides reading guides to let you know what you need to pay attention to in the study guide. Tests are all multiple choice. She is AMAZING and I even switched my major to psych because of her.
LOVE HER! my favorite professor yet!
she's actually so funny and cracks jokes left and right. she's so nice and understanding great lectures but you will be reading A LOT. Her tests are not hard AT ALL it's really just vocab and definition but it is A LOT of vocab to memorize, and you need to memorize all of it, even words that were just in the textbook and she didn't lecture on them
Avoid if you can, not the best professor.
I loved this professor so so much. She was the highlight of my year. If you have the opportunity to take this class, you better do it. She is hilarious and the course content is actually interesting. Furthermore, she is very clear on what will be on the tests, and she even makes study guides for the students. Forever grateful for Dr. Frick!
Janet herself is very nice but the class itself is difficult. 4 exams and they are only multiple choice. Lowest is dropped but many questions are about names of people or specific facts from the textbook that are easy to forget. Other teachers are better for PSYC if you are just looking for the 1101 credit
