Professor Gerson is very passionate about economics. She works hard to teach the material. She cares that students really understand the basics of economics. But still, read the book!

I learned a lot from this course, but not really from lecture. I learned a lot from section and from preparing for quizzes and exams. The class forces you to learn the material, but lecture itself sucks. The room's dark, it's early in the morning, and Gerson talks above our heads. This class is hard.

Gerson seemed really knowledgeable of economics and to really enjoy it. It was really hard for her make clear things for someone who had never taken an econ class before. Lectures made no sense since she just read off the slides and learning from the book was useless since she wrote it. NO DIVERSITY IN INFORMATION!

Gerson is one of the strongest Econ 101 professors. She makes everything very clear. The two times I went into office hours she was quite helpful. She made econ seem very easy. Definitely try to be in her lecture. If you are in honors, take her econ 108 class as a supplement. It is an easy one credit class which will make econ 101 easier.

She's very good at explaining things in the class. Going to lecture helps a lot, but it's not necessary. If you do the practice exams and do them well than you will do well on the real exams. Exam questions aren't hard as much as they're trick questions, which is annoying.

Econ 101 and 108: She was such a great instructor and truly enjoys the subject and her job of teaching it. The details in her lectures gave me a solid understanding of basic Econ, even though I didn't attend every class. 108 taught me much about the economy and world around me, something that I had very little understanding/knowledge of before.
