She's great, dosent waste time. Her grading is very fair and she is excellent at understanding her students work.

She does one-one conference where u discuss ur papers and u only stay for half the class time. I've never stayed for the full 1:50 mins or whatever duration class is suppose to be. Very fair grading and extremely helpful! u cant go wrong taking her

When she assigns an essay, she'll make the topic clear and gives her students an idea of where to go. Very flexible, and nice personality. I also like the conferences aspect because she tells you what you need to improve on and helps you if you dont understand something.

She's is a GREAT English professors and extremely nice, too. For her class, she let you choose your own topic that you're interested in researching and writing about then you stick w/ the topic throughout the whole qyarter. No reading **** stuff required like other professors ^^

she can explain well sometimes, but, with her grading, she is very unclear. ON the essays, she just puts "i dont like this", instead of explaining what you did wrong...not the best

Best English teacher I've ever had. She always grades fairly and gives good examples to help you understand her assignments. The conferences are cool because they help you improve your work. Best English teacher ever.

Funny lady, very nice. Her paper grades seemed kinda random, but I improved on each one. She didn't ever write very helpful comments though. Nice to get out early, and this often happened. That was quite cool.

She is totally awesome! the best teacher there is to teach english.....i absolutely love her....she'll help you with anything, she's not uptight, she's great at explaining things....she's just awesome!

profesor does a wonderful job helping the students understand the material. there is a lot of writing involved but she's always available to answer your questions. she provides a good evironment for the student. good class.

I love Prof. Kraft because she's so easy to talk to and is really cool! Only 4 essays, no final, and a $17 booklet! That's pretty cool! I would love to take her class again. I HIGHLY recommend her.

She's very nice and explains the topic very well. Her only problem is that she grades everything by a "B" scale. If you write a crappy essay, she'll give you a "B-". If you put in 100% effort, she'll give you a "B+". There is just no way in pleasing her. If you're lazy, take her class. The class doesn't last for more than an hour.

Professor Kraft is very clear & helpful. She returns e-mailed questions fast and is understanding when you have writing difficulties. I highly recommend taking this class, even though she may seem easy you learn a lot and can take what you learn on to your next writing classes.

She is one of the greatest teachers I have ever had. She sets time aside to meet with her students one-on -one, to discuss assignments and does a bit of counseling. She actually helped me in picking a major that I would enjoy and helps me get to my ultimate career goal. She gets a perfect score in my book.

She is one of the nicest teacher I ever had. I still can't belive it that I passed her class because she caught me cheating. I respect her for that because she gave me a chance to fix my mistake and because of that I learned to never cheat again in my classes.

she was awesome..we would go to class and she would go straight to the point..we didnt have to go to class every day...but as long as we had everything on the due date she was awesome..extremely help ful. we didnt have to spend money on expensive text..she made her own book which was like 20 bucks

Kraft is an amazing professor. She cares alot about what she teaches. She believes strongly in group work and is likely to show a movie at some point. GREAT PROF

Great Professor! You have to write one entire paper for the quarter, but you work on it in steps. And she helps you along the way, so its really easy! She is really helpful, and the midterm is an essay. The final is just to turn in your paper (the one you spent the whole quarter working on). Just be sure to pick a good topic.

great great professor. 4 essays, you do peer review then you turn it in a week later. really easy got like a B average on my essays she gave me a B+ class always ended early. she was really nice, didn't expect a b+. fair grader but in the end will give you a generous grade. extremely helpful and down to earth prof. take her!

shes a great professor! very easy going & gives you lots of oppurtunities to succeed. need to attend class or else you'll probably feel like the class is harder than what it is... no midterm no final! four papers throughout the quarter with lots of time to get them done. book is around $20 :] shes awesome!!

She's so down to earth, really clear about what she's teaching you, and she knows what she's talking about. I liked how she allowed us to write freely. 4 papers in all, no final or midterm, lots of days where you don't have to come in! take her!!

Trouble w/ writing? u're ESL student? YOU WANT HER ! short time lecturing, ONLY one topic writting for the whole quarter, ONLY one cheap textbk for class, EASY A if u work a little hard, B for sure even u're lazy

She's such a sweet lady and really shows enjoyment for the subject. The way her class works is that she assigns an essay, a week after, we print 4 copies and peer review w/classmates and then a week later submit final draft. We have four essays total which is the majority of our grade. She isn't a very difficult nor easy. Recommend her for everyone

I took her class a year ago but I wanted to rate her. She is an awesome teacher, you just work on one paper all quarter long, 10pgs long, but you have 3 months to do it, c'mon that's easy. Provides A LOT of time. Got a B+ >:/ not happy with that but overall, SHE'S GREAT! must attend class!

Very good teacher,and understandable.I avoided English 102 for so long and surprisingly I got her. I got a B+ for the class. You only work on one paper all quarter long and its about the same topic all quarter long. TAKE her, it is time consuming but easy.

nice teacher, u only need to finish one 11-13 pgs long paper, whih are consist of four parts for the whole quarter. Hard to get A on each part. But do have extra credit for last one. overall, easy class and relax. i got A-.

Professor Kraft is an AMAZING teacher. She is also a great friend and mentor. She was pretty harsh on the individual essay grading. But she really considers you as a person while grading the overall course. THE IDEAL PROFESSOR!! She is so helpful in office hours. It's nice to know that CSULA has professors that care about their students. A+ Prof!<3

This teacher grades hard for her essays and she assigns journals, we have to do them everyday. Overall she only assigns four essays, the last one being the final and best of all their not in class essays. She also lets you have a private session to help you on your essays. If I could try harder, I would've gotten an A-.

Loved her 102 class. About four essays throughout the entire quarter, put into one at the end. I wrote 16 pages out of the minimum 10 and got a well-deserving grade. Sweet lady. Peer reviews a lot. Oh and you don't show up to class for about 4 or 5 times a term. Go to her office, it helps if you are struggling! 102 much easier than 95, 96, 101! (:

There was only three essays, the essay assignments were not difficult but she is a tough grader, so make sure to have her look at your essay to get feedback before turning it in. There really is no homework just some in class journals. She doesn't really teach you how to write she kind of lets you do that on your own by providing student examples

She is very straightforward and is a great professor. You don't have to show up to class all the time. There a total of 4 papers that are very easy and she guides you. At the end you combine all four papers into a big paper which is very easy. You will love her class! Good luck! :D

I absolutely recommend this professor to everyone! For one thing, the whole time you are writing one paper. You choose any public policy issue you want and you write several essays on it which she breaks down for you easily. She gives you plenty of time to work on them by not having classes. Don't hesitate to ask for help!

I had her for English 101 and 102 and both times I passed with an A. You will usually write a draft and the have it reviewed by peers and then a final draft. She gives plenty of time to finish. If you need help she is always there so don't be afraid to ask because she is really nice and helpful.

Love this professor. She is really straightforward and helpful. You write 4 essays, but you're basically writing it on the same topic. Don't stress she gives you time & there's peer review. The final: you put all your essays together to write the final essay. Really enjoyed the class, it's easy to get an A as long as you put in effort.

TAKE THIS CLASS. She is a great teacher. Class consisted od 4 essay, first 2 are 2-3 pages long and last 2 are 4-5. However, the topics are interesting. Easy A honestly.

I am that type of person that was so scared to take English 102, because I simply hate writing. Professor Kraft made the class interesting and capable for everyone to pass. You have to focus your writing only about one topic, and write about it the whole quarter. Easy grader and shes very chill !! I would totally recommend her

This class has you writing several essays to create one big research paper that counts as your final. There are no tests or midterms and not even a textbook, just a workbook that she herself created. MLA book she suggests isn't necessary if you can write well. She's so, so nice & absolutely loves her students! Definitely someone that cares!

Prof Kraft is definitely one of my favorite professors. She does try her best to help you out and does care about your work and how you're doing. We were required to write a min. 10 page essay about a topic you're passionate about, but she spaces it out so you don't feel overwhelmed and stressed. Class was fun and easygoing and I learned a lot.

Jan Kraft is amazing, there are few papers she is an easy grader, most of the class got A's and B's. There is only class about once a week, she says the other class days you should use to write and meditate.

Professor Jan Kraft is amazing. Take her for english 1010, and 1050 if you are a freshman at CSULA. She's sweet and she really cares about students grasping how to construct a good essay. You will need to purchase her textbook which has amazing sample essays and thorough instructions about what to write.

Jan is an amazing professor with good contributions to essays. She gives lots of feedback for the essays and if you need extra help, she is always in her office during her office hours. There was 4 essays, but you can write about any topic you want. We also didn't have class everyday so we can work on our essays. Straight-forward, clear grading.

She teaches the way that professors are supposed to. She gives you lot of time to do research so most of the time you will not be in class. I highly recommend her class.

Professor Kraft is a great choice for students who feel uneasy about their writing skills. She cares about her students and wants you to learn the subject matter well. Be ready to write! It's a must in order to pass this class. But she is willing to help you. I learned how to research scholarly journals, books, newspapers, etc. from her class.

She's a very sweet person, and really makes you feel as if the purpose of the class is to help you. She's what a good professor should be. The class is mostly essays, so as long as you put in the effort and do them, she'll ensure you pass the class.

This class is mostly about research papers. You'll have to choose a controversial topic, research, and write four essays about it. You have the option to peer review with people that coincidentally have the same topic as yours (Extra credit). Chill professor tho.

Professor Kraft is AMAZING! In ENGL 1050, there are aprox. 4 small essays and one final paper (10+ pages) with a few small assignments sprinkled in. I know it may sound intimidating BUT it's not too bad. You have all semester in which you work your way up to the final paper. You are able to &quot;recycle&quot; your works because it is all based on one topic.

No zoom or in person, final is a 10+ page essay with lots of sources, the essays you do throughout the semester are big! parts of the final essay so its not hard unless you skip the essays, there's not really assignments its all mainly essays, you choose a topic and research about it throughout the semester. was lost at first but caught on easily

Not an online class, but there's only 1 mandatory meeting date- everything else can be found online (even requesting meetings with her via office hours). Mainly independent work w/ criteria given. She's also flexible in extending deadlines as long as you ask. Really cares about students, wants everyone to succeed. Final is accumulation of essays.

Such a great Professor! Going to class is optional. You have 3-4 essay throughout the semester and then combine it for the final which is a 10 page essay on a topic that you want to talk about. Very essay. Professor is very understandable with any issues that arise.

Professor Kraft was understanding and was very communicative/ gave excellent feedback on my papers. She had family matters going on, but did her best to respond to students. The assignments were not hard, but do not wait last minute. I recommend to take her class as she is a wonderful professor.

Take Professor Kraft's class if you can. Why? Class isn't mandatory (+ we only met a few times). There's a clear schedule of the assignments and class meeting times. She replies to emails quickly; easy communication and sends (weekly agenda) announcements. She gives feedback on essays, gives essay examples, and gives lots of time to complete them.
