This class is very interesting and Professor Marquard is a great teacher. She has a great sense of humor and makes her lectures worthwhile. Lots of opportunities for extra credit!

She was very approachable, and the lectures were rarely boring.

Her class was really interesting, and there is no homework. If you have above a 95% at the end of the semester she doesn't make you take the final.

She knows what she is teaching. her tests are not that easy, but if you study you have nothing to worry about. good class to take...you learn a lot...and i think every guy should take it.

She is an awesome teacher, HIGHLY recommended class. Lectures are interesting, homework is minimal, and tests are fair. You actually learn and she is very approachable. Take this class!!!

I HIGHLY recommend this teacher. She's awesome. If you are considering the Women and Health class, get this one! She's great!! She gives extra credit opportunities and is always pleasant.

What an amazing teacher!! It is very clear from the way that she runs her class that she loves what she is teaching. As a first-time freshman, her class has been my best experience so far. TAKE THIS CLASS!!

I recommend this class because it is really interesting and the assignments are fair and there is opportunity for extra credit.

EXCELLENT!!! You will find that her lectures are interesting - guys, take this class. Barely any homework. The tests are easy. She doesn't call on anyone. Just listen to the lectures - that's it, and you'll do great! There's no reason why you shouldn't get at least a B. :)

Very interesting course. A lot of info. though. If u have an active sex life definetly take this course. Mainly is about Females, menstrual cycle, sexuality, child birth, drugs,menaupose, mental health state, and nutrition. She also adds males part in the role of this class. A few extra credit assignments.

You need to read all the chapters for the test to be easy. Also, be attentive during class.. MUST ATTEND CLASS. Gives a good amount of extra credit, but should offer more. It's a cool class, but not as easy as you think. You must read, you must attend, and you must be interested in the class to get a good grade in it.

The best teacher in the history of CSUN!! Practically no homework, she will tell you what to study for and her lectures are so intriguing. All you need to do is pay attention in class and youll do fine

Such a good teacher. She keeps everything plan ans simple. Just pay attention, and you'll do fine. I got an A with hardly any studying. She gives a study guide before every test, and drops the lowest grade. Very easy, very interesting; a must for everyone.

Very interesting class you learn a lot about womans health and a little on men just go to class and take notes and you'll be fine her test are straight forward. I got an A and learned a lot about sex!

Lovely woman. Makes learning a lot of fun. If you pay attention in class to what she says, you are bound to get an A. We have reading out of the text book, but she basically covers it in her lecture, so no need to buy the book. Doesn't make things awkward. Straight to the point. Makes you feel comfortable enough to ask questions.

GREAT Teacher! Beautiful lady... great energy. makes the whole sex, periods, and paps smear thing OK to talk about. very interesting and informative. Attending class is not mandatory if u wanna read the whole book on ur own without an easy outline. Trust me if u take this class u will want to show up everyday!

She's an extremely nice teacher...knows her stuff. Make sure you study your notes for the tests too, not just the study guide.

AWESOME LADY! I can't say enough about her or her class....the lectures are very interesting (you'll stay awake, GUARANTEED), the tests are pretty straight forward, very easy (if you study). she's one of the most pleasant professors you'll ever have. TAKE THIS CLASS!

this class is pretty easy, i got a b+ but thats because i would literally start studying half an hour before the test. attendance is not mandatory but it helps, don't buy the pink book, just the collection of articles, her lectures are heavily based of the article book. grading only consists of four tests and nothing else.extra credit: not too ofte

One of the best professors I have had.She knows her stuff, and gives you all the answers for her tests if you come to lectures and take notes.Very interesting class, movies, guest speakers.I recommend this class and professor.If you attend, take notes, and try your hardest you will for sure pass.

SHE KNOWS HER STUFF! Makes the class very interesting and not uncomfortable. Tests are straight from the notes--buy the blue book! Very helpful...lectures are based from it. But if you come to class, you just have to review the notes before a test. You'll actually want to come to class. Pink book--not so necessary. Definately recommended!

Awesome and VERY classy professor. Her exams are strictly based from the blue book & lecture. Even though I did buy the textbook, I've kept it as a resource. Her lectures are very insightful & interesting. Offers extra credit as well. I didn't even have to take the final exam because I was guaranteed an "A" in the class. Highly recommend!

Interesting class, very informative and very easy if you pay attention. Nice professor who is very helpful, you can really ask her anything, I think she said she was a nurse or something of the sort as well.

Jan Marquard is GREAT! She's funny and the material is very interesting so you will want to go to class. if you miss class, its pretty easy to make up what you missed. her tests are super easy if you take notes and do the reading. I has 103% in the class & didn't have to take the final. be there, pay attention, and read the lessons. easy as pie!

TAKE IT!!! Love her class. Super interesting. If you go to class, pay attention (which won't be hard) and take notes, you will pass the class for sure. There has only been four exams, one homework, and one research paper. I really recommend this class.

I loved this class! Super easy!

By far the best professor I've ever had! She's incredibly sweet and cheerful, and truly cares about your grade. She offers extremely easy extra credits to help your grade (which is probably going to be an A regardless because of how easy and simple her tests are). Pretty much no homework at all, no essays, and only 5-6 tests that are super easy.

BEST TEACHER!! Attendance not mandatory, but sometimes gives pop quizzes which you actually earn points for, so they help your grade not harm it! No homework or papers, just 4-5 tests and she drops the one with the lowest grade. Extremely sweet and cheerful! By far the best class and best professor I've ever had! Highly recommend!!

She is the kindest professor you'll have! She makes jokes and really entertains the class. She helps everyone and She always has a smile on her face. I recommend her to everyone! Definitely a must have :)

Sweet lady. Definitely a good class to take, male or female. No homework, just four tests (including final and midterm). Lots of videos, lots of guest speakers. Has random days with sign in sheets. Sometimes gives pop morning quizzes for EXTRA CREDIT (won't penalize you). For a GE, definitely take this class with her.

I LOVED this class. Prof Marquard is such a nice, funny and positive teacher. She sends around a sign in sheet on random days. She never judges on the questions that are asked and basically tells you everything that are going to be on the tests. Two midterms and one final, no homework. Extra credit mini-quizzes too. Would definitely recommend.

4 tests, but lowest one gets dropped. No homework. Lectures are engaging, and can make you laugh. Tests are common sense, but can be tricky if you don't study or at least listen in class. The only problem was that a couple of times she told me I didn't do an assignment, and I had to show her proof that I did it.

Omg! Best professor! I am a first time freshman. I had like 5 different professor and they were all bull. Except this one, professor MArquard is absolutely the best! Her class was so much fun. Its a very easy class, you get much out of it. Her test are common sense, no homework unless noodle post(very easy) I will be taking HSCI 231 with her (:

I love Prof Marquard. This is my third class that I have taken with her and I learn so much! She is super nice and caring and her lectures are very interesting. Show up to class, take notes, study, and you will get an A. Best Prof. I've had by far.

This class is an easy A, and she's a great teacher! You really don't even need the textbook because all of the test questions cover the articles that she posts on Moodle and there's review of the lecture before every test. Also, there were no major papers or projects, only midterms and the final. I highly recommend this class.

4 test, and drops the lowest grades, she brings in many guest speakers and shows videos along with her lectures. There was no homework, other than a couple of moodle post that had to be 3 sentences long! Other than that she is a great teacher, and her class is not hard at all, every thing is pretty much common sense .

Professor Jan is amazing!! I am currently in her class and she brings in a lot of guest speakers. her lectures are clear and she only gives 4 tests and drops your lowest test grade. This class is an easy A and you should take this class with her. She's very fun and is helpful. You learn a lot of new things.

Best prof so far! No hw. Has random quizzes and does attendance randomly. 4 tests and she drops the lowest test score. Kinda need the book. Sometimes lectures can be boring but she does cover what's on the tests. She goes over what will be on the test in class and provides a study guide.

Most interesting class I took that semester. All her lectures were on topic&very informative. I was never bored during her lectures. There isn't many point opportunities besides the 4 exams. Apparently, if you have a 94% or more before the final you do not need to take the final exam. I got an A on all 3 tests & had a 93% so it's not that easy.

Take this class if you can!!! She was hands down one of the best professor's I have had! She gives you 4 exams and if you have a 95% in the class you don't have to take the 4th exam although the last exam is the easiest. She gives random 5 point quizzes that won't hurt your grade if you fail them all! There are no surprise questions on her tests!

She is a very understanding person. She provided great study guides for each test. 4 test but if you have at least 95% you don't have to take the last test. There are pop quizzes but she'll give you 2/5 for just being there to take the quiz. She has lots of extra credit opportunity! She will let you crash her class. No textbook needed.

She is my favorite professor this far; she made me change my major to public health. She is funny and always goes over what s going to be on exams. TBH, if you dont get an A on those exams, you didn't try. Has a lovely personality and cares about her students!!!!! LOVE HER

Had her two semesters in a row and she absolutely amazing!!!! Get a long with her and she can be super resourceful to you.

I really enjoyed Pro. Tormey's class! She's super hilarious and she makes you feel super comfortable with all the topics we learn in class. She does do pop quizzes but they aren't worth a lot, but beware of her exams! There's a lot of information packed into a 70 question-two part exam, so study! I really learned a lot in her class and I def rec!

Super easy A! She lectures and shows movies most of the time. Grades are based off of 3 tests which are almost all true false. She goes over the test the class before taking it and also uploads the questions to moodle.

Prof. Marquard is the best! Definitely recommend her. She's very specific in her lectures and only gives 3 exams plus a final. There's a lot of reading but NO homework. She's kind and understanding. Students feel very comfortable with her and she treats everyone like if we were her grandkids. Beware of pop quizzes.

She truly cares about her students and makes sure you learn. The material is great and youll need it throughout your life, it's impossible to fail this class.

Professor Marqaurd-Tormey is an amazing professor. There were 22 points of extra credit that were offered which was extremely helpful to my grade. If you have a total of 95% and above you do not have to take the final exam which can easily be done. There are 5p quizzes based on what you learned last class given at the beginning of each new class.

So sweet and gives EC! You earn easy points on classwork and we are graded for attendance. Gives out random pop quizzes in the beginning of class at most 5 the semester. 3 midterms and gives out study guides. Test are Multiple Choice & T/F. You don't even have to read if you pay attention to the lecture. No final if your grade is 95% by Exam 3.

This class consisted of a few tests, which were divided into two parts. The class itself is pretty easy and fun. She makes the class fun, and you learn so so much. Also, the guest speakers she brings throughout the semester are pretty interesting. P.s. the book is expensive to buy or rent, and you do not need it.

Unfortunately, textbook is required for this class. She does not have lectures prepared because she usually teaches freehand. There are pop quizzes and her exams are usually based on the textbook and or what she has briefly mentioned in class. She is super nice so if there are any concerns, just ask her personally!

Professor Marquard is a solid choice for any class. She gives lots of extra credit, but do make sure to show up because she will randomly do pop quizzes which also count towards your attendance. She teaches freelance so sometimes it can be difficult to jot down lecture notes. Other than that, I totally loved her!!

A GREAT professor and an easy class! Take this class with her! There are four exams, a few quizzes, and A LOT of extra credit. She went over the test questions before exams, pay attention and you should be getting a B or higher on every test. She does take attendance but if you go to class, take notes, you will pass easily. Very easy exams, textbook is required. There arent any study guides but you shouldnt need them if you take simple notes during her lectures. There were a lot of guest speakers that got boring at times. Shes a little disorganized with due dates but nothing too bad. Class was very enjoyable & we always got treats!

No homework just 4 exams. If have a 95% or above before the final, you don't need to take it its an automatic A in the class. Although I feel like going to class is pointless because her lectures don't reflect anything on the tests, attendance is counted. She brings in a lot of guest speakers. Very good instructor. She does sometimes go all over the place, but cover the necessary areas for the tests. The expectations are clearly stated before each test. Also, there are a lot of extra credit opportunities (30 points for my semester). However, you won't get an A by simply relying on EC. Make sure you go to class.
