She gives a lot of extra credit so if you study there is no reason you can't do well. Definatly prepared me to move on in math. She tries hard to be funny and she really isn't, but that is easy to overlook.

Helpful teacher more than anything. lots of office hours. Extra credit. 4 100 point tests, 100 points of hw, 200 point final. no reviews, but no real surprises on the test.

Very nice, very helpful, very clear...but sometimes it gets annoying when she talks to the class like we're 2 years old.

Shes a nice teacher and will help you if you ask, she wants you to succeed. She goes at a nice pace, but shes a good lady and a good teacher do your homework and you will get a B+ or an A.

I thought Ms. Peart was a very good teacher. I had 1150 with another teacher, wished I'd taken Peart again. Peart was clear and explained math very well. She was organized, not all over the place. You knew what was due to be turned in and you could ACTUALLY take notes from her examples.

Those who complain need to grow up. You're not in highschool anymore! The module program is an excellent way to become secure in the basics of algebra and is explained the first day of class. Put the time in to attend all classes and do the homework!

Gives a ton of homework, but if you keep up and do the work, you will be fine. Fair teacher... no surprises.

I found her class very easy to follow. If you have a question, she takes the time to explain it throughly and she didn't grade on attendance. The people who wrote bad reviews should rate themselves because there is plenty of help available if you utilize it.

Mrs. Peart is a very nice teacher, if you have a question she doesnt put the pressure on you by trying to make you figure it out yourself. She works with you on it. Very Helpful. If you had to choose between her and Kathy Chiasson i would take Peart.

Afer having several other math teachers at OCC AH, I now realize what a great teacher Peart is. Hers was the 1st class I attended after 20+ years and now that I've had other profs in other courses I realize how straight forward she was. Easy A if you do the work.

she is very helpful and very nice. i had troblem with mode 2 and she came in the math lab and she help me out a lot she explins math problems very easy she makes you understand the material a lot better. if you are scared of taking math TAKE MRS PEART!!

Prefessor Peart was an amazing teacher!! She is very flexable on attendance, flexable on due dates (only because she likes to make sure you know what you're doing), excellent at spending time with students and making sure they comprehend and understand the criteria. She is also very nice and a lot of fun to be around. I recomnend her strongly.

She's about the same as most math prof's. Fast talker and writer, shows you some tips and tricks here and there. You do use the book quite a bit for examples. MyMathLab is a nice tool. Knock's a lot of points off quiz problems for the littlest things. Is in love with her calculator. I'd take another class with her again.

Peart is the best math teacher I have ever had. Although she does go through things quite quickly, she is very aware of her student's and cares about their understanding of her teachings. Extremely helpful, and funny. I've never been good at math or had any interest in it. But I got an A and looked forward to going to class, with her.

Peart's class was set up really weird..There were two teachers and if you passed the first test you stayed with one and if you failed you went with the other and if you got a low grade on the second test you failed the class..Personally I am terrible at test taking let alone math so I failed the class. Overall good teacher but weird set up.

She was great! I am not really a fan of math since 5th grade, but I always got good scores. I failed this same class on the winter semester, teacher was horrible but she is awesome! PEART IS AMAZING. I'm really an idiot when it comes to math and i'm being nice by saying that. Never have I had a teacher who kept me up to speed and interested in what I was doing until Peart's class. She takes baby steps with you, which I needed(not everybody in the class liked it) She is very helpful and will explain something again if needed!

Mrs. Peart was the best math teacher I ever had. You'd better be ready to work and study, but she helps a lot. All the notes she wrote on the over head during lecture were later posted on My Math Lab. I actually enjoyed math for the first time in my life. She's great!

My last math class was 10years ago (No I'm no old) and I was nervous taking a Summer II math class.I almost dropped after the first class, but after talking to Mrs. Peart, I'm glad I didn't.She is amazing and made boring math easier to grasp and understand with her tricks and short cuts. Great Prof. Do the homework, go to class and pay attention = 4.0. I got a 4.0 by doing the homework..do the work and you'll do great. Wish I had every math class with this prof. Very fair.. No surprises on any test.

I loved how organized she made her notes! She also offered the notes online for those who don't write fast or if you miss the class! She has very clear notes. If math is not your thing she really does help you out! She curves the test, if you do the homework, pay attention during the lecture, and at least try a little hard you will pass the class.

Janet was my first math teacher at OCC and I honestly loved her. I wish she taught MAT 1100. A good thing is homework is optional, she gives you pages to do but you don't have too, so its all test and test are very straight forward and everything we learned in class. She helps out ALOT and makes sure you understand everything.

Wonderful teacher. Explained everything very clearly. If you do the homework and pay attention in the class- being in the class while she explains everything is half of the job of understanding the material and getting a good grade. She really cares that students do well. Best math teacher I ever had!

A friendly and eager-to-help teacher. Do all online homework, it is the best way to learn in this class! Lectures are straight-forward and informative, and there is always extra credit on the tests. She is easy to approach and explains material very well. I'll definetly be taking her again (she teaches elem. algebra to calc 3).

she is a knowledgable and good teacher, the material is kinda hard but she skips the stuff that you don't need. she assigns weekly worksheet worth 10 points, if you do that; it should prepare you for the exam, No surprises on the exam. exam is worth 108 points so you have 8 extra credit points every exam. absolutely recommend her to anyone.

Mrs. Peart is hands down, the BEST teacher I've had at OCC. She taught algebra with enthusiasm and teaches the subject in a clear and understanding manner. If you come to class, study, take in all she has to offer on the subject, and DO the homework, you'll pass with a great grade! She really helped me a great deal in getting an A+.

Janet Peart is the best math teacher in Auburn Hills, she will give you the best ways and methods to be successful in her class and in math in general. also she presents the subject in a easy and fun way so you learn math without any effort. I took her in 1100 last semester and now I'm taking 1150 but I still use her math solving techniques.

She was the best math teacher I have ever had. I have taken Calc in high school and none of those teachers compare to her. She explains things very clear, and is understanding if you take longer to learn. I would love to take her again but unfortunately she does not teach the next class... :(

I dislike math, A LOT. Mrs Peart was a wonderful professor! Encourages questions in class and is always will to help. She is very available during office hours and even responds to emails on the weekend. I would absolutely take her again for future math classes.

EXCELLENT professor. always willing to answer questions and help. good personality for anyone who deals with any personality disorders or depression like me. lots of homework, but its calc 2, what do you expect. would have gotten an A if i studied, but depression makes life hard in general, so i didnt study much. i highly recommend

Great math teacher!!! Never understood math going through high school and she explains everything so much better. Goes over test questions until you feel confident for the test. Would definitely take her for every math class if I could.

Peart is one of the best teachers if you're struggling with math. She breaks things down one by one and makes you really think and apply. Her lecture papers are scanned and put onto D2l and if you do the homework you will EASILY pass the class. She also explains things in basic concept so if you're not math savvy you will understand it.

She is an amazing professor, i struggled in high school being three years behind in math as a senior but she explains everything in detail and takes it step by step. If you struggle with math TAKE HER!!! as long as you show up to class and do homework you will pass!

SUCH a good teacher. Makes it personal, helps you ALL them time and she is 100% available all the time. Hilarious, the lectures are easy to follow. Tons of homework, but I only did 80% of it and I still got an A-. Do the homework, put in effort and you'll win an A.

Mrs. Peart is an amazing teacher! I am not a huge math person, but she explained things in a way I could understand. She was very easily accessible outside class and is willing to meet during office hours. She will sit down and explain things if you have trouble. She is also very funny. If you are hesitant about math at all, TAKE HER CLASS.

She's the BEST! I took Calc 3 with her. I wish I took Calc 1 & 2 with her too. I took this class in summer along with three other classes. She was a lot of help, I took 2 tests out of 4 in the ASC (Academic support center). She is very organized, her notes are all color coded. Easy and clear notes .

Best math professor at OCC. If you're bad at math I would 110% suggest taking JP! She's helpful and understand not everyone is a super star at math. She's the only reason I've passed math at college.

JP is very lenient with attendance, asking only that you show up for your own sake. If you decide NOT to show up, she's very good uploading her lecture notes online. I took 16 credits this semester while working 4-5 days a week, and having good notes and the ability to skip without it hurting my grade was a godsend. I didn't show up much, got an A.

JP was the best teacher I could of had for this course! She is sweet, caring, and knows her stuff. She teaches in a manner where she would want her students to understand-not the traditional by the book way of teaching math. She gives 5/6 extra credit on every tests and drops the lowest score even if its the final exam. Shes great! Take her!!!!!

Peart is my favorite math prof. of all time. She made calc 3 easy to understand, and made her own homework assignments tailored to how she was teaching. I still use her techniques over at OU since it's so straightforward. She'd occasionally give extra credit, too. I wish I could have taken every math class I needed with her. TAKE HER CLASSES!

JP is a solid choice for calc 3. if you try the class actually becomes do able. There are weekly worksheets (13 total). 4 exams and a final. She does offer extra credit numerous times.

JP is amazing, simple. This was the third math class I have taken with her, I wish she was teaching trig id take her for the FOURTH TIME! She explains things so simply I was terrible at math before her. She uses my math lab for homework DO IT. Its great for learning the course work and gives examples and sample problems. Take her you wont regret.

I loved math before college classes. I loved this professor she was very helpful in every aspect. I would never take another professor. I had attended this same course at 3 different colleges 3 times and couldn't get above a D+. She made me love math again and I not only passed her class I got an A. Very fair on grading and explains everything. ��

This lady grades in such a way that if you try you'll pass. There was a lot of EC throughout, and she gives tons of points for work. A weekly worksheet helps to buff out grade further. Lectures were videos that you could watch at anytime and there were multiple exam times. Lectures were easy to understand for the most part. She's a good choice!

I bombed the first 2 exams (sub 60 on both) and still passed with a B-. Her grading is very generous and she has lots of EC. She has worksheets that's due every week, all of which are to make sure you study the current chapters. Book wasn't needed, her videos and slides were enough. She seems strict at first but she's a real care bear. Recommended.

Great professor. J.P is always willing to provide feedback and gives lots of extra credit. Take her if you need ELEMENTARY ALGEBRA OR ANY MATH CLASS.

Highly recommend Professor JP! She gives extra credit, makes videos going over material, makes practice tests that prepare you for exams and emails you back instantly. You have to put EFFORT into this class if you want to do well. The exams are proctored but its no big deal. Overall very happy I took this class and recommended everyone to Prof JP!

3 tests (100pts) and a final (200pta). No hw because of 8 week summer term but if taking the usual there is weekly worksheets, which follow the lecture and help on the tests. Optional webassign is quite long however I found lecture videos and worksheets to be enough. Make sure to write down all work for partial credit and use study helpers mostly

JP is a great professor! Her lecture videos were very easy to follow and she has a really sweet, down to earth personality She posts worksheets that are very helpful for gauging exam material, gives out extra credit, responds to e-mails fast, and offers an 100 point homework option which really boosts your grade! Would recommend for Calculus 2.

This is the greatest Professor to step foot on planet earth. I took calc 1 &2 at Oakland University and decided to take calc lll over the summer and she is by far the best Professor I have had to date. If you want to pass, do all of the worksheets they reflect the exams.

I usually don't rate Professors, but I have to with JP. Calculus is tough sometimes, but she just makes life easier and not stressful to students. I had an 8 week class with her and I learned more than a 15 week class. Absolutely the best. Highly recommended. she really cares about her students. I always loved her. I wish they are all like her.
