Professor Samuels is great. She is very clear on work and extremely helpful. She's very nice, sweet, and assuring. She will help you whenever you need it, and is very lienant with assignments. She gives many quizzes, but are easy and very helpful for the tests. I would definately recommend her!

She was very nice and helpful, had much patients with everyone who didnt understand but she made HW required and i didnt like that. its college give me a break.

The instructor is very fair, knowledgable and helpful. I appreciate the experience and would choose another class of hers. I do however feel that there is allot of material covered in such a short period of time. I also believe that there should be less material given on a test because there is so much to remember.

Mrs. Samuels is a truely wonderful Math teahcer, she presents the information in very slow and logical ways, she will stop and help you figure out your problems even after class if necessary. She gives credit for work on test so it is very easy to ace her test and i finally get algebra thanks to her. I recommend taking her classes.

Mrs. Samuels is hands down THE best math teacher I have ever had!! She makes everything she teaches so easy to understand. If you don't understand it, just ask her and she will go out of her way to help you! She gives a lot of work, but w/o that work I wouldn't have done as well in MAT 1033! Take Mrs. Samuels!! Best math teacher at MCC!!!

very hard prof. this class is hard period and she gives you no breaks. hard to hate because she is so nice, however, take this class with frankivilla instead. i hear shes great. samuels just makes everything hard, extremly hard grader. most of my class failed this course.

If you do the notes outline and study, you'll do fine. She's a nice teacher and explains the information well. I would have gotten an A if I would have done all the homework! Overall, great class.

I hated math before I attended her College Algebra class!! She started the first class by saying her class has the highest drop out rate which freaked me out! Now, I have a 91% in her class! She is a great teacher and it's so much easier than everyone is making it seem! HW is online and so easy!! She's a great teacher!!

First of all, if you're the type that likes to actually apply yourself to your classes, then don't pay attention to the negative comments about Mrs. Samuels. She loves math and is always ready to demonstrate any homework problem for the class. Most importantly, SHE KNOWS WHAT THE HELL SHE'S TEACHING.

This class was pretty easy. There are a lot of formulas to remember but there is a lot of practice. She assings homework and some projects. She is good at managing time that way she can help her studnets. She's a very nice lady and makes the class easy and beneficial. Remember the stuff from this course it's heavely used in calc.

I would have failed this class if i had taken any other teacher. Mrs. Samuels is the most helpful teacher i have ever had. She has a passion for math and no matter the difficulty, she makes it doable. I love her!

Mrs. Samuels is nothing short of amazing. College Algebra with her in Fall '08 was the best experience I've ever had in a math class. Her lesson outlines and thorough review sheets were very helpful. She is really sweet, and teaches with much clarity and patience. A strong believer in partial credit, too; really fair grading. Great professor!

knows what she is talking about but moves very quickly and does not give enough examples in class. Also she does not explain the rules of math and why they are the rules you just get them and are expected to blindly follow.

She is great. Reguardless of how hard the material is she makes sure you get it. On tests she does extra credit, and quizes are take home. All homework is off mymath labs. I WOULD DEFINITALY RECOMEND HER!

Take clean, 100%-copy-the-board notes. Print out her handouts from angel. Very nice and helpful. Homework is on web assign, which is good because its a tiny workload and gets the job done, but it costs ~$50. You do NOT need the textbook if she still does Web Assign. DO NOT BUY IT. Need to attend and pay attention and its cake. Tests = 2 Ch.

Great teacher. I would recommend her to everyone. I can't wait to take Mrs. Samuels in Trig and Calculus.

Good Professor. I am pretty good in math for the most part. Her teaching is good but she could be better at explaining things. She always teaches it one way and if the class doesnt understand it she is unsure of how to explain it differently. With that being said most of her lessons are crystal clear.

Samuels is a highly intelligent teacher. She incorporates enthusiasm in lessons and checks that students understand all material. Prior to moving onto further in a lesson she?ll ask everybody in class if they have any questions. She demonstrates desire of concern for her student?s to be successful. Best math professor I've ever had in college!

I'm actually very shocked to see bad review about her. To me she is a great teacher! Show up, do the work and you will be fine. She ALWAYS asks if the class understands before moving on. I love her and would take her again!

Wonderful teacher and a very nice person. If you do poorly in her class, it is just because you do not try and do not use the resources available to you. She gives wonderful instructions and is very clear in her directions.

Trig sucks but she makes it as painless as she can. She was helpful and would repeat anything you did not understand. She does give stupid projects that count as a quiz, and uses web assign and it's terrible. I would take her again she is a good teacher.

Very helpful, makes learning the topics pretty easy. Book not required as you just work through her pre prepared class notes. Homework is often and required if one wishes to get a good grade. Show up to class, do the homework, and you should have no trouble in getting an A!

Comes off rude at first but she grew on me. She teaches only what you need to know. Moves quick but will explain more if you ask. The amount of MML homework can be excessive but its an easy grade booster. Turn in the exam reviews for 3 extra percentage points. Harsh attendance policy. Never even opened the book. I liked her, I would recommend.

I love her. I knew nothing about algebra when i started- she explained everything so well, but moved along quickly enough as to not make me feel like a moron. Got an A- which, yes, i had to earn. DO NOT MISS CLASS- that will kill your grade.

WebAssign has to be the most frustrating program for homework, it will cause your self confidence in solving algebra problems to plummet exponentially. A decent teacher with a very bad math program.

Mrs. Samuels is probably one of the best trig teachers i have ever had. I had her for the accelerated trig. class and i never had a problem keeping up.

Calculus is not an easy subject and I was scared going into the class. Mrs. Samuels makes sure you know the concepts and tries to help you understand why you're doing something instead of plainly doing it. She's a great teacher but definitely not an easy A at all. I don't think any calculus teacher is.

Straightforward professor, extra credit for each exam, your final score will replace your lowest exam score, all homework is online, which kind of sucks, but makes it incredibly easy to get a 100 as a hmwk grade, unlike other professors. Helpful, kind, good teacher. Highly recommended for Calc 1.

Samuels is an adequate teacher, but not as inspiring as she could be. Her lectures are pretty dry, but she follows the textbook and gives extra-credit options.

Pretty typical teacher. Sticks to her notes which is based off of the textbook and has homework due twice a week online. If you don't get something, she is willing to help you. Big on attendance!

I was surprised when I searched prof Samuels and saw mostly negative things! I have never been to great at math myself and I found her teaching style very helpful. Attendance is mandatory, reasonable amount of hw, offers extra credit, and she is willing to help 1 on 1 if needed. She is very nice and understanding, for the most part.

I am horrible at math but she made it simple an easy for me to learn. Any time I had a question about anything, a test score, the homework she would always show me where to find the answer an she would show me what I did wrong an show me videos or extra work I could do to help me better remember the material. I loved Prof. Samuels. Math has always been my worst subject but she would explain the material clearly. Ignore the bad reviews because those are people that likely never showed up to class. Homework is required and through MyMathLab. She takes the time in class to go over any questions students have. Would gladly take her again.

She sometimes announced things as class was ending & went over the class time a lot. But I have to say, she is a good teacher. I have always been okay at math, but I actually understood trig. She has 2 parts for her tests: 1 with calc & 1 w/o. She is passionate about math & it helps when you're learning it. Do the hw and reviews & you'll be good!
