I took her for two semesters and enjoyed her. I think she is probably the best professor for Intro. to Accounting. She is boring and I fell asleep almost every day, but she takes attendance and give quizes randomly that don't do anything but help your grade. Good luck. It's a tough class.

Best Accounting teacher at USC. Material can be tough but she is very helpful. Wants you to LEARN the material. Class can be somewhat boring but she trys to make it interesting. She is a sweet lady and great teacher!

The systems class was such a waste of my time. Some of the material was so ridiculous that I was bored. Fergusson seems to really care about how students do. There are a lot of projects that she acts like she gives you so much help on, but her instructions are very vague. Study slides for exams.

She's a great teacher, and much more interesting than Kerr, but I would recommend taking Kerr just because she writes all the tests and you get used to her writing style before the tests.

She is the best teacher I have had so far. She wants every student in there to make an A. She is very sweet and very knowledgable about accounting. only word of warning: just bc she writes the tests this semester doesn't mean she'll write them in fall 2006 but worth taking no matter what!

Very helpful teacher, if you have any questions about what's gonig on she will stop and answer it. Very boring, half the class is asleep, but that'll be with any ACCT teacher. I'd recommend her over most teachers because she also teachers the review session and is very knowledgable.

I had her for Accounting 225 and 226. She is willing to help when you need it. Gives extra credit added to final grade. Exams are extremely hard, but if you study hard you will make at least a C. AWESOME TEACHER!

Great professor. Very clear and will answer any/all questions. Tests are difficult and get more difficult as class progresses so do well early. You can manage an A and easily get a B if you do the work. Homework is extremely important. Take her!

Ms. Fergusson is a great teacher. She teaches well and does not berate students unlike some other accounting teachers. She is very clear and does plenty of examples so that by the end of the class you have a good fundamental grasp of accounting.

ACCT 221 is NOT an easy class but Mrs. Fergusson tries REALY hard make it so you understand it. She gives you every opportunity to get help, she talks slow so its easy to understand. If you ask a question she makes sure she answers it properly. Tests hard but not impossible if you study. If u do the work theres no reason why u shouldnt get a C or B

DO NOT TAKE IT ONLINE. I have never made below a B, and I failed this class. Extremely difficult. Only saw her once in person. Weekly homeworks and quizzes that you have to go turn in to your TA. Lectures are boring and hard to focus.

I love Mrs. Fergie! Although she babys you some, all she expects is for students to act respectful and normal in class (you'd be surprised). She actually cares about her students and is the only prof. to teach a lecture-type class that I've had that has learned all her students by name. She really knows the material and is more than happy to help!

I had Mrs. Fergusson last semester for 225, i thought this semester she made the class alot easier. She does everything she can to make sure you succeed. Pay attention to her examples because they are just like the HW/test questions. Attendance is mandatory but it helps with tests. Very nice and helpful.

I didn't think she was that bad at all. If you take the time to show her that you care about the class she will do what she can to help you. I stongly suggest doing all the homework and making it a point to let her know you on a personal level. She is strict and by the book, but still yet she is fair.

Professor Fergusson is the best professor to take for both 225 and 226. She really wants her students to do well and if you just go to her office anytime you have questions she'll really get to know you, and she will know that you truly care about your grade. I took the class online. BAD IDEA. Great thing about her is she has lecture notes that help you stay focused. I regret not doing the optional h/w in the textbook. If you do take her online, the trick is to speed up Windows Media Player. She talks slow, so it helps, and it makes her lectures last only 45 minutes compared to 75

Mrs.Fergusson is a GREAT teacher, she tries to make it easy as possible. She is always there to help, attendance is not mandatory but make sure to show up if ACCT is something you just dont get the first time, coming to class will assist you in understanding the material. Doing the homework, practice tests, and going to SI meetings also helps.

She's great! Loves questions, lots of office hours and multiple TA's. Do the homework, go see the TA's (they know her style and go over the problems in detail). I took her for 225 & 226 at 8am. She's a morning person and really tries to help out everyone. If you're thinking of being an ACCT major TAKE HER! She knows this stuff like its her name.

FERGALICIOUS!! :D Mrs. Fergusson is actually really cool and is always there to help you out. It's definitely not an easy class, but its not something I'm pulling my hair out over. If you want at least a B you need to keep up with the homework assignments. If you want an A go to SI weekly and you'll be groovy.

Very good professor with an exceptional grasp of governmental accounting. Genuinely cares if her students are learning, definitely in my top three professors I've had at USC. Very good at explaining the material to students in a clear and concise manner. Advice: come to lecture, listen, do the homework, and don't read the book.

Awesome professor, very well organized and very fair with students. The textbook is a snoozefest. The grad project is very long, it will require many hours of work on your part spread over at least a week, you cannot do it at the last minute. Plan accordingly.

She is the nicest lady! Granted 404 is boring as heck; if you just go to class and study the powerpoints/text well before exams, you should have no problem getting a B+ or A. The projects are boring but not difficult, just put in the time and it'll really help your grade out. Take her if you can!

She teaches the class through lecture videos online. Normally 1 lecture per night but sometimes 2. It normally takes 2 hours to complete the videos and fill out the studyguide. In class there is an SI that does examples. My biggest problem is that there are only 3 tests. You have a 5 question quiz each class. HW once a week and study guides graded.

Not an overly difficult class. If you cannot pass this, then don't bother continuing in the business school. All online lecture videos with just class once a week, which allows you to watch the lecture at any time in the week. TA needs to be good if class is going to be easy.

This is definitely a hard class if you don't listen the lectures and do the homework. If you do the work and study hard it's a pretty easy A. The first exam we had for the semester, half of the class got D or F, and I was the one of the five people who got A. If you want challenge go for it, if you just want a easy class, this is not one for you.

This class will be easier that 225 because she is a great teacher. Go to class. She tells you when the quizzes are. 3 tests and a cumulative final. Multiple hw assignments. She drops your 2 lowest quizzes and hw grades. Nothing is hard, just listen in class and study a few days before the test.

Everyone knows who J-Fergie is, but what they do not realize is how much she cares for her students. Always willing to help, and even offered to call me and explain it when she could not meet up. Go to class, even if you do not pay attention, it will drop you a letter grade if you skip too many.

I struggled with the online lectures in ACCT 225 but having lectures with Fergusson were very helpful. I feel like I learned a lot and understand all the information. I really enjoyed this class.

Well you don't have a choice for ACCT 226 but that doesn't mean you're stuck with a bad teacher. J Ferg knows how to teach. Don't let the online videos from ACCT 225 fool you. Go to class and listen and you will learn the material. The seating chart and big brother TA's were excessive but otherwise I enjoyed this class.

Really enjoyed class with Professor Fergusson. Thankfully USC still has her honors classes in person which makes it a much easier class when compared to the online lectures. 8 "pop" quizzes, drops your lowest two, two tests, and a project. Overall I enjoyed the class.

Mrs. Fergusson is a great teacher. I had her for ACCT 225 honors and she was always super pleasant. She's definitely a tougher grader but its usually fair. The other thing she does is that in ACCT they're supposed to have unannounced quizzes but she always tells you when they're going to be. Her study guides are also very helpful.

Janice is the best professor in DMSB that I've had up to this point. She is an accounting wizard and underground student favorite. Everything she teaches makes sense as long as you pay attention and keep up with everything. She's a pretty tough grader but as long as you don't slack off you'll be fine.

Mrs. Fergusson is a great professor. She actually made accounting interesting. She really cares about her students and provides countless opportunities to get involved outside class. It's very clear what you need to understand for the exams. Don't expect her to round up grades, either.

Janice is the go-to professor for all things accounting related. People who complain about her don't do the work. If you do what she says, you'll get an A or B. She gives extremely clear guidelines for the exams before hand.

Very caring and accessible outside of class and is also willing to help with any issues you may have (way more than you would expect a professor to). Not taking her if given the chance is a terrible decision!

Solid lecturer but tests are quite heavy on the material. Do the book work alongside the graded homework and you're guaranteed an A. Watch out for the Budget Project and be sure to pick a solid group or you're doomed.

I took A$AP Ferg for two of my honors accounting requirements. She lectures but loves to answer questions for anyone who needs something explained in further detail. Tests are lengthy and tough, but she gives you a study guide outlining exactly what will be covered. Group project is long but can boost grade. Dropped lowest homework.
