She is not a very good teacher because she gives the Exam a week before you take it. So basically you don't have to go to the lectures if you have a friend take the notes, and you can borrow the book (you don't have to read the chapters or take notes)

I was supposed to work with her last semester for an independent study, but she didn't follow through on setting things up. Janice Joseph is lazy, arrogant, and simply a b****. She needs to be fired right away for her inability to work with her students. However, her traits seem to be the criterion that Stockton uses for selecting faculty/staff.

Not the nicest lady. Average teacher at best. Tests are all essays/short answers based on handouts. Alot of unnecessary notes. Wouldn't recommend the class but some material is interesting.

Horrible professor. All her notes are straight from Wikipedia, and she hands them out, and you're expected to memorize them front to back and spit it back out on the test. Each test consists of about 157 memorized paragraphs. You learn nothing and the movies are HORRIBLE. Don't bother calling her on the phone either she'll just blow you off.

Extremely tough grader when it cmes to her tests, which are 100 percent essay and written short answer. The class is ok, but her tests are torture, and she counts bad spelling against your grade. Don't take her if you wish to get an a. You won't get one unless u kiss her butt and memorize her notes word for word. God help you if you're not one of her favorites.

I had this prof for critical social issues, a G course. She is completely rude and not helpful at all. Tests are all Bluebook and impossible to please her. Class is like sitting in a bad debate. I would NEVER recommend this prof for anyone. Stay away!

The entire course consisted of class discussions. I didn't pay tuition to hear other people's opinions. 3 tests all short answer and essay, she grades EXTREMELY hard, I could write the answer word for word how she gave it to us and she would still mark it wrong. She is rude and won't respect your opinion.

She is very hard to understand as there is a language barrier. She is very stern and does not care about students. Harsh Grader. Tests are all open ended and essays. Their is a ten page research paper which she never explains.

She's not very clear when she speaks and when you do understand what she's saying she can't understand what you're saying so it gets frustrating. She also wouldn't stop talking about Dog the Bounty Hunter and Lindsey Lohan.

Took this class for my Choose Two and dropped it. The class is a waste of time. You won't learn a thing. You can't even understand her when she speaks. Her tests are awful. She makes you buy 2 books for the class; one is for the tests & the other is never used at all. Her lectures are pathetic and pointless. Please avoid. Do not waste your time.

This is one of the worst professors you will ever see in a college setting. I have taken over 35 courses and have not seen a professor as bad as this one. Open ended exams, zero help. A sexist coward at best. Dont take her in any courses.

She doesn't take the time to learn anyone's names. The exams are all short answer/ essay. It's a lot of writing and a lot of memorizing. She gives you a study guide that is literally everything on the exam. It's a lot of information if you really study you'll be fine. I got 98 on first exam but others got 40. One group project, 3 exams.

Avoid this professor like the plague! Never answers questions, talks over you, shows horrible outdated videos... The only professor that says it's RUDE to take notes. I participate in class every day yet she never even learned my name. I try to respect all my professors but I struggle to have any respect for her.

I took Dr. Joseph for a social issues class and she made her opinions very known in the class. If you disagreed with her points of views she would laugh at you and wouldn't call on you. Only assignments all semester were 2 exams and 2 papers and she is very unclear with grading criteria. The material was easy but she made the course unenjoyable.

I drove an hour, three times a week and feel like I wasted my time. She has a very strong view on the content & laughs at you when you disagree with her. 2 papers, 2 exams and a group project. Took off points for ridiculous things such as using contractions. Study her exam guide and you shouldn't have a problem passing. It is just a dreadful class.

Most of your grade comes from exams. There are only two and they are all short answer and essays. She constantly contradicts what the powerpoint says so it's very hard to know the actual answers to some of the questions. She laughs at people who have a different opinion than her. Avoid if you can at one point everyone in my class was failing.

Each exam is hand written in complete sentences. She is a harsh grader and will take off points if you use the word criminal instead of offender. When you ask a question her response is almost always, "I already told you were you not paying attention?" and if she asks for your opinion and it differs from her she will talk down to you until you do.

Would not recommend to any aspiring criminal justice students. She is harsh and rude. The only thing good about her is that she is wildly funny. Dr. Joseph likes to ask questions to students, if the response disagrees with her own opinion, she will laugh in your face and makes you feel dumb. She yells at students, creating a hostile environment.

Worst professor I have ever had. Rude to students, not helpful whatsoever, isnt clear about assignments. Doesnt give any dates or assignments due in the syllabus. Janice was a horrible professor. She does not respectful and laughs at you if you sound dumb. she is very strict and old school. She also will not remember your name but she excepts you to remember hers. I will not recommend taking any of her classes.

Only gives 3-4 items for the course and grades you on that only. She leaves poor feedback on exams and tells you that you are wrong but does not explain why. She will argue with you during class over your own personal opinion. If you send her an email she will not respond to it. She grades very hard and barely even teaches the course.

Probably the WORST professor I have had during college. She is extremely rude, you cannot have a different opinion than her, and she takes forever to grade things. She will give horrible feedback on assignments, and quite rude feedback as well. She'll say she emailed you directions and whatnot, but she never does, and she'll say that YOU are wrong.

Intro to Victimology. AWFUL PROFESSOR! She tells you that you have a 4 page paper due in the middle of finals week, her exams are all essays and if you don't use her words specifically she will fail you. I went from a 4.0 GPA to a 3.5 because of her. She only gives 2 papers and exams but grades them harshly. Doesn't answer emails ever. DO NOT TAKE!

She's truly the worst professor I've ever had at Stockton. She argues with students about everything, gives less than a week per paper (no assignments or tests are listed on her syllabus, she emails you about a week before the due date about the assignment), and never responds to emails. The material is very easy but she's makes the class horrible.

I hated this woman. She is honestly one of the rudest human beings I have ever met, and it is incredibly infuriating. She refuses to learn any of the students' names, so she just refers to them as "you" and points at people. While other classes are taking midterms, we only had 2 assignments. She lectures us that we shouldn't go to peers for help.

If you ask questions you will get a response of her yelling at you. She doesn't explain things. Just repeat the same information over and over. Doesn't care enough to get to know her students. Doesn't put grades in the grade book so you will never know how you are doing in her class.

I showed up to all of her lectures. Did well on all of her assignments and exam but when I ended up super sick at the end of the semester, she took my grade from a A-to a C+ all over one exam. My gpa suffered greatly. She promised me a B but put a C+ as my final grade. She will forget what she says to you so save emails. She can be super rude.

She is extremely unorganized, barely answers emails never grades until the last moment, never posts on blackboard and will not show you the grades even when graded. She shouldn't even be a professor

This professor only gave us 2 exams with 15 questions on it, she barely gave any work so your grade was defined by the exams or papers. The whole class struggled with her class.

Took this class in Fall 2022. Did not provide an actual syllabus, gave almost no guidelines to any assignment. Graded only off of 2-3 "exams" that have 15 questions and a few essays. Not only does she not give feedback, but be prepared not to understand her handwriting when she does give you that ONE piece of feedback you want. A nice person but not recommended as a professor at all. She just reads off of her slides(which she does not allow laptop use, she hands out printed packets of the slides) and adds in a few questions on the topic. Halfway through I realized just putting in an airpod and taking your own notes from the packets is the most beneficial use of your time.

unfortunately this class was a requirement to graduate. they need more victimology professors asap because she cannot teach this class. Numerous students had to correct some of her information because it was wrong. She yells and picks on students randomly. If you have to take her bc you have no choice keep your head down and do your own research.

She told me she did not care about my problems, and told me to go to someone else. Actually stopped answering me at one point. Overall, if you can find another perceptor do so.
