her tests are kind of a little too detailed for a class that is pretty much required for freshman... its not like we're religion majors. so if you have a lot of HW in your classes that actually have to do with your major then i wouldnt take this class.
You learn a lot in the class because she is very knowledgable, but have to work for it. Her tests are difficult. Can skip 5 classes before your grade starts to suffer.
The class is good...but VERY HARD. I'be heard its better than Grant's. The tests are extremly difficult and have really random questions. A lot of material is covered.
She is really nice. I would say take her for Bible and you won't be so bored. And plus she'll bring you donuts.
Very nice and very helpful. Tests aren't too bad. There are daily writing assignments, but as long as you turn it in (and it's not BS) you'll get full credit. Pretty easy if you go to class and pay attention.
Best class I have ever taken!
great teacher - interesting class. very enjoyable.
Easy if you put a little effort into it. I didn't and took a B. Just make sure you show up for class, she starts to really reduce your grade when you skip.
very dedicated. cares about the students.
Her tests are lengthy, and have essays. But she gives you test reviews, so you know what to study for. I am not a religion major, but I thoroughtly enjoyed her class. She is very nice and easy to get along with.
This could be the most interesting class that i have ever taken. Her tests are hard (if in doubt the T/F are always FALSE) but she gives you enough to study for them. Incredibly smart and helpful teacher.
This class is the best...Loves to debate the Bible, and really sheds some light on different aspects of religion. Cool teacher.
Class is pretty easy. If you study you can make an easy A. Take notes and do the readings and you should be good. She is a nice teacher and cares about her students.
wonderful lady. very nice and willing to help and cares about her students. she is exteamly knowledgable about the bible-highly recommended
Fun class, awesome teacher. Cares so much about the subject as well as the students... take home tests! yipee! (but they still aren't effortless). I definently recommend
One of the nicest and most understanding teachers you will ever meet. Religion is a tricky subject to understand, but she is there to help. The small class sizes help create a more stimulating atmosphere.
Although her class was very difficult for me, she was so helpful and nice. If you have any questions or conflicting schedules, she is very understanding.
I loved her class. Its not easy but if you study and go to class and participate you can easily get an A. Also get a study group and study the night before a test! She is an awesome teacher and makes the course really interesting and you learn alot.
amazing teacher--go to class, at least read the text book and pay attention. if you ever have questions, she's more than happy to help!
take full advantage of the lecture and study groups and you should be more than fine. if you study for the tests like you should, you'll do very well. very nice lady
She is very sweet and I enjoyed the class. Lots of reading assignments and the tests can be hard, but she is very helpful in return.
She's awesome, coolest teacher ever.
I really enjoyed this class and she made it really interesting. I've been a Christian forever and I learned all kinds of new stuff. You do have to read to keep up in class or you will be lost and the tests are more over concepts than over definitions.
i love studying religion, but it was hard for me to do that in this class. it's an EASY B...if you study good you can get an A. She likes you if you talk in class....and she makes you talk if you don't
very, very boring
Very informative class. She really knows her stuff. Study all notes as it is amazing how much stuff she can test you on.
GREAT TEACHER!!! She doesn't try to TRICK you on tests. She expects a fair amount out of you but she's good and more than willing to help.
Very good and FAIR teacher!!!
She does all she can to help you. She's fair and concise.
nice woman, tries to help you out as much as possible, tests are some what challenging. Material for tests comes from book, bible, and lecures equally. If you come to class and listen fairly well you should get a b.
She is so Hot right now...so Hot. In fact I'd date her if she wasn't married.
Better than my professor who received the Chancellor's Award this year. As a sophomore, I am glad I waited to take her and highly recommend her to all the freshmen. If you are a religion major, you might try to find someone harder if that's your cup of tea, but this is what I needed.
This Prof. likes to teach her own opinion! Beware! She SAYS she doesn't want to trick you with exam questions but she does. Study your tail off if you want to make a decent grade, but I recommend just taking WORLD religion instead.
This class has a light work load, but the tests are hard. She does not help very much in her lectures.. Hands out the essay before the test, so that helps a lot b/c essays on tests are over 1/2 the grade.
I Loved this class. She knows her stuff and if you like studying the Bible it is an awesome class. Just do all of the reading and know the information and you should at least make a B.
Great Professor, knows a lot of USEFUL things about the Bible. Unlike the other professors how they will teach you useless knowledge (son of ???? Which you will never use.) She will actually teach you specific dimensions of the Bible. Great person in general. Strongly recommend.
Great teacher! I was afraid of a religion class being preachy, but Dr. Quesada kept everything fun and interesting with famous catch phrases such as: "Events like Sodom and Gomorra have symbolic messages beyond don't gang-rape angels." A lot of reading and easy opinion papers, but a lot of learning!
She's great! I learned so much in her class. The tests aren't hard at all if you as long as you are breathing in class. She covers everything in class and doesn't throw anything new at you. She is very willing to work with you on absenses and make up work. I HIGHLY recommend taking this class!
nice teacher, hard class. tests are hard, homework load is light, GO TO CLASS (she takes off for absences), study your face off for the tests. shes nice though.
Study = A. She is an interesting teacher. Go to class because attendance is taken. Take good notes and go over assigned readings for A. She'll work with you if you need help and offered up to 10pts xtra credit on your lowest test score at the end of semester, really helps with only 3 tests in all.
She is a nice professor, but be prepared to study a lot. She doesnt give any slack in her class with grades. You have to have at least a 90.6 in order to round up to have an A. Overall very challenging but nice professor. Reccomended if you like studying the Bible ALOT!
This class has a light work load but that means the tests are worth more, and yes, the tests are fairly difficult. Be prepared to study quite a bit for each and take detailed notes. She is very nice and presents the material very well--academically and unopinionated.
Dr. Quesada is very smart and her class was great. I made an A. Study lightly and an A is definitely attainable. Her afternoon class was writing focused, while her morning classes were more objective. I would definitely recommend her to others.
Dr Quesada is a sweetheart! She is great teacher. Her class isnt too rough if you do the readings and pay attention in class -- you should get an a. She knows what she is talking about and cares about you as a person! Take her!
She is so nice and really helpful.. Tests can be difficult BUT if you study the notes you will do fine. She also provides study guides tahta re tremendously helpful!! TAKE HER!!!
Great professor probably the best in the department Cares about students both in & out of class. Make sure you keep up with the readings or else you're in trouble. Tests are multiple choice with one essay. An A is possible if u put in effort. I really loved her class. Would highly recommend her.!!!
good class
Dr. Quesada is so nice, and such a sweet professor! She makes learning about the Bible fun and interesting. I did'nt know much about the Bible before that class, and I have learned tons! Just keep up with your readings and go to class- she takes attendance. Her lectures are great and you'll learn alot if you put in the effort. Take her class!!!
i LOVE dr. quesada's class. she is such a great teacher, and she keeps it interesting. she's kinda quirky but she's funny. if you do the readings and the handouts, you'll get an A. she gets to know the students and is available outside of class.
great prof. really cares about her students. Do the reading, it helps a lot. Some of the tests are kind of tricky but she is super helpful and gives reviews.
One of the sweetest professors at this place. She runs a very FAIR class. What you put in is what you get. You go class, read and study you'll get an a. The oppisote is also true. If you are a major, take her for sure. She is prob the nicest in the department.
good teacher!! give u readying guides that are the study guides for the test. As long as u read ur h/w u'll get a b. if u try a lil harder for a A but not too hard. Takes attendence & the final is NOT cumulative. gives 15 quizzes and take best of 10!! 4 of them are like attendance grades!!
A great religion class, Dr. Quesada is extremely helpful in and out of class. A lot of reading however, and although the tests are not culumitive they do get harder as the semester goes on. She gives you amazing study guides, though so as long as you do your part you should be fine. Take advantage of the quizes! they add up to another test grade!
She acts like a mother while teaching. If you're eating in class, talking or maybe asking someone the page number .... please believe she will point you out and ask you why you were talking or not to eat. Do NOT TALK in class and please do not text message. Otherwise, she's cool. She knows her material pretty well and her tests are not too bad.
Dr. Quesada is one of the sweetest professors I have ever had. She really cares about her students and is always willing to help. You can tell that her heart is in it! If you keep up with the handouts and pay attention in class you will do well... oh and study for the tests!!!
Dr. Quesada is one of the best professors I have had at TCU! She is so nice and helpful. If you ever have a question, she is more than happy to answer it. Her tests are fairly difficult, but the study guides she gives and the in-class notes are extremely helpful. If you just review the notes and keep up with the readings, you can get an A.
Quesada is a good teacher and her class is interesting. She does a great job of keeping her personal beliefs out of her teaching. You must do the reading in this class in order to do well on the tests, which requires and hour outside of class per class meeting. She expects class participation and I would encourage going to her office hours.
good teacher! she's very nice & her class is interesting. you have to read and actually make an effort but thats every class. She is funny too. Turn cell phones off and dont text during class. She is willing to help during office hours, she helped me. I made a 100 on the first test and an A in the class with effort. TAKE HER!
Awesome professor. The test are very easy as long as you do the assigned reading. She has three test and then quizzes. Make sure that you read everyday! This is the total of what you will need to know for Quizzes and test. Best teacher I have had at TCU yet!
Professor Quesada was a really good teacher to have for religion. i actually enjoyed her lectures and even though i did awful on her tests, i made a high B. Do the writing assignments. they make your grade.
Dr. Quesada is very friendly & passionate about teaching. I heard she was the easiest for religion, but her class was VERY hard. Daily reading assignments, which are very long & boring. ~15 quizzes from readings & drops lowest 2. 3 tests which are very difficult & each has an essay question (luckily, gives essay prompts prior, so u can prepare).
This class is not for those who are not extremely interested in religious history. I thought it would be a fun class requiring little work, but it is quite demanding. I would read all of the daily readings and still made Bs on the tests. She tries to make the class interactive, but the lectures are still rather dry.
expects you to memorize every detail and covers it very quickly for a basic religion class.
in my 1st semester @ TCU this was my FAV class by far. super interesting! wanted to take a class that pertained to my religion this was IT! goes through the bible at a fair pace. lots of reading, but if you just follow the reading guide you can skim. weekly quizzes SUPER EASY if you read whatsoever. HIGHLY recommended, nicest lady and a great class
She is very helpful and accommodating and very intelligent. If you're lazy and don't read your assigned reading this class is not for you. You have to go to class take good notes, do the readings, and work with the study guides she so nicely provides for you. If that is too much for you to do, don't take the class.
Take her for your religion credit!! She loves teaching and is passionate. Compared to other religion classes - she is the easiest. It's still hard but 95% of what's on the tests and quizzes is straight from the book. She wants to help you learn and do well. Know the reading guides, have an opinion in your essays/class discussions, & you'll do well!
RELI 10033 - Great prof! I enjoyed her class. She does require a lot of reading but she provides study material. Periodic quizzes are easy if you read the assigned material prior to class. Tests are medium but if you put a little effort into studying the study guides and your notes, then you will do well.
Wayyy too much work for a core class. I'm a business major and had more homework and studying to do in this class than any of my business classes. I've taken religion for 14 years and I read every textbook and bible assignment there was and I still ended up with a B+. She gives pop quizzes sometimes and drops your 2 lowest quiz grades
Great teacher, even better person, take her
She knows her stuff! Lecture can be dry near the end of the semester. Last half of the semester the readings were SO long and drawn out. Expect to spend a couple hours each day just reading both texts! Be thorough in reviews, tests aren't bad. Quizzes are super easy if you read or even just use common sense.
Nice teacher. Not bad as far as religion classes go
Very sweet lady, class is very dry and gets worse the closer you get to the end of the semester. Lots of outside class work, be prepared to spend a lot of time on homework readings and guides. Not the easiest core class but completely doable if you are willing to work! weekly friday easy reading quizzes.
I never did the reading guides and I got an A on every test. If you're familiar with the Bible you will do fine, if not, it may be hard. Read the text book, way more helpful then reading the assignments from the Bible. Also, the final is not cumulative, and is weighted the same as the other 3 tests.
Good teacher, knows her stuff, and very helpful. Helps if you already have a basic understanding of the Bible, but if you do the readings and study guides you'll be fine. One of the easier religion classes at TCU.
Not bad at all for the required religion class. Keep up with the reading though and do the study guides she gives you. Offers extra credit and curves the tests. Lots of athletes were in my class. TAKE HER! She's very nice and knowledgeable but can be a bit boring. Easy if you do your work and reading
Very knowledgeable and really knows what she is talking about. She's super friendly and sweet and will help you if you need it. She cares about her students. Weekly quizzes normally on Fridays so that you go to class but they are SUPER easy as long as you do the reading. Drops your lowest quiz score. Tests have essays but she gives the prompts.
Just do the reading guides! If it's on the study guide, it will definitely be on the test. The tests have essay portions, but she gives you a choice of prompts prior to taking the test so you have time to prepare. Very knowledgeable, sweet, and helpful! You have to attend class because there are pop quizzes but they're only worth 10% overall.
Class is fairly hard if you don't know the bible well. Make sure to read and do study guides and you should easily get a B. Hot
Nicest professor, I'm a big fan.. Incredibly helpful especially with office hours. There isn't an easy religion class, but this is the one to take. Learned a ton. Managed an A, but it took a lot of studying despite having some biblical knowledge. Prepare before class and USE her reading guides. Drops 3 lowest quiz grades. 10 points extra credit.
not exactly a fun class, but not bad compared to other TCU religion classes. random easy reading quizzes that are a total grade booster, and if you just do the reading and study a decent amount a high B or A is doable. she's super sweet and approachable
Her class is on and off challenging. The quizzes vary from easy 100's and True/False quizzes. Her class is boring, and can seem like forever. If you went to a private school i would recommend this class. She is not as hard as i heard about religion classes.
Not always the most fun class, but she knows the material and she does a very good job at relaying it to her students. If you go to class regularly, do the readings, and pay attention, it is not difficult to do well. She is very nice and she genuinely cares about her students.
If you do the reading, the class is fairly easy and an A is very doable. If you don't do the reading, you'll struggle. He lectures are engaging, and goes over the key concepts from the reading in class. Overall an enjoyable class.
Show up for class, do the readings and youll be fine. Quizes will save your grade, gives extra cdredit at the end. DO the READING GUIDES, not mandatory but they will help you get an A in the course. (the reading guides are the test reviews)
Dr Quesada is great. Show up to class every day though because she gives a lot of test questions in class. She expects participation but I didnt do the readings every time and was fine. Really nice and helpful. Didnt have to study much and made an A!
This was the most difficult class I've ever taken. She does not explain things well and there is A LOT of reading assigned every class! Her 4 tests are near impossible and she only gives 5 extra credit points max for the entire semester and that's only for those struggling to pass like myself! If you skip class, chances are you will miss a quiz too
Ms. Quesada is the sweetest teacher!! She teaches in a manner that makes it interesting. If your struggling she will go out of her way to help you and is very passionate about religion! She is overall a great teacher!! the tests can be difficult at times but if you study it will be okay. Every test has an essay you have to write but she gives topic
I took Dr. Quesada for Spiritual Autobiographies. There are 6 books to read over the semester, but they aren't too long or bad- 1 paper, 1 creative project, 1 final. You can tell she absolutely loves teaching this material and she does a wonderful job at it. I would definitely recommend this class for your religion credit. Get ready to read, though
Professor Quesada is an amazing professor. I can say I genuinely looked forward to her class. She is kind and cares about how well her students do. If you do the required readings & take notes in class then you will do fine on the tests because they are mostly MC, fill in the blank, and true/false. She is also SUPER knowledgeable about the material
If you're great at reading really old writings, then this class is for you. The worst part about this class is the hour or more of boring reading for every class, but if you do all the homework an A should be pretty obtainable. The entire grade is quizzes/tests, but most of them aren't too tricky. Takes some effort though, so I pass/no credited it
Quesada is a very very kind prof! Her class is a ton of information, but you can do it! As long as you read (most of it) and take good notes, you will be fine! The tests can be pretty hard so be sure to study! She knows it's a lot and will give extra credit, you also get to drop lowest test! There are 6 tests overall. Take her!!
Dr. Quesada is an amazing professor that will take her time to make sure you're doing well in her class. If you read what is assigned before class and then review and take notes in the lecture, you'll be more than fine. She's very passionate and knows what she's teaching. Extremely smart. TAKE HER!!!
Dr quesada is so kind - unless your whole class never does the reading ... then she gets REALLY frustrated (as she should). She takes the time to learn everyone's names unlike most professors. if you do the readings and take notes in class you're guaranteed at least a B. attendance policy is you can miss 8 classes and then u won't pass
Dr. Quesada is one of my favorite professor at TCU. She is super nice and does everything she can to help you succeed. This class is very hard, if you are looking for a religion core class that does not require effort, do not take this class. Do all the reading guides and you will do fine. She gives extra credit that is worth 10 points on any test.
I LOVED Dr. Quesada's class. I wasn't really looking forward to taking religion, I had heard it was really hard. Dr. Quesada made the reading doable and really knew her stuff. The tests were simple if you just studied for a few hours. I learned more than I ever thought I would in my Bible class
She is the nicest person, and I'm sure I would love her in a different class. I took Interfaith Understanding with her and was not a fan. I loved that the class was primarily discussion, but you were put down if your opinion didn't match up with hers. Might not be the best class for strong willed people. She does not like to be disagreed with.
Dr. Quesada is so kind and caring. She is a bit quirky but I found that endearing. As long as you do the reading and are respectful to her in class (don't leave or go on your phone she will call you out) you will be just fine. Do the readings and you'll do fine on the exams. She is prompt with getting back to you via email. I would recommend her.
I love her! she is seriously so nice and really knows what she's talking about. I had her online and it was kinda annoying when no one would turn on their camera so make sure to turn it on! She really likes when you do. Make sure to do the reading and take notes during class and you'll do just fine on the quizzes and test. I would recommend her!!
I'm an international student and studied Dr Quesada online. In the beginning I used to struggle a lot because I didn't know the most proficient studying methods but she helped me a lot. She's quick with emails, remember to ALWAYS read and study notes/guides on D2L. Participation matters and talking/ turning on camera in class will make her happy!
I think that Dr. Quesada was very passionate about the course materials. The tests and quizzes were fairly easy, however there is a lot of reading for a 10000 level course. The subjective variables were graded on the harsher end, but all in all I enjoyed the class alright.
Dr. Quesada is great! The class itself wasn't for me, but that doesn't necessarily have to do with the professor. She is very sweet, an easy grader, and all tests (for my class) were open book and online. She does expect your attention and will call you out in class if you aren't paying attention, but she isn't rude about it. Would recommend!
Her Understanding Religion: Society and Culture class was very manageable, she cares a lot about religion and is so sweet. She loves when you participate and the readings are not heavy and interesting. Please take her! Her midterm and final are kind of hard but the classwork can get full points as long as you do it!
This professor knows what she's talking about. However, she frequently allows her left-leaning politics to influence the class material and it makes the class VERY hard to sit and listen to without speaking up. The class itself is easy. If you have a heartbeat you'll probably get an A.
I had Quesada for Interfaith Studies and she was great. She is super passionate about everything she teaches. The quizzes and tests can be hard, however, they are open note, so take good notes.
She's such a sweet lady, and is accessible outside of class and is so accommodating. She's very lecture heavy and expects you to do the reading in the discussion-based class, and the reading can be a lot. Politics sometimes show up but nothing major. Take her for understanding religion: texts and ideas: the Bible if you can!
One of the best teachers I have had. She is amazing and cares about you. Easiest religion class at TCU take it if you need a religion you will love her.
Such a sweet lady who explains things very well. Weekly assignments, but only keeps 10 highest grades at the end of the semester. Midterm and final that aren't hard. One group presentation, relatively easy grader. Take this as your religion with her if you can!
I really enjoyed Dr. Quesada's Understanding Religion class. Tests and quizzes are easy as long as you do the reading and study guides. Her lectures were pretty similar to the readings. She gives great feedback and is overall a very understanding professor.
I absolutely love Professor Quesada, just participate, and listen to lectures and you will be totally fine! If you forgot a reading or two, she will 100% explain it in class! Super sweet and made me love the class.
You just have to attend class but all tests are open notes and the final is as well. The readings are interesting.
A lot of reading and quizzes , but I mean a lot. She will ask you the most specific questions to make sure you actually read for her quizzes. Ive heard of easier classes , definitely take another religion class that is easier and not as demanding. But be prepared to read almost all of the Bible and still feel unprepared for her quizzes/exam.
Professor Quesada was an amazing teacher. I took her 8 am class and she brought energy even when the students were tired. Her test and quizzes were easy if you pay attention in her class. There is reading but if you stay on top of it you will get an A in the class. I would 100% recommend this class because of how nice and caring she is.
Dr. Quesada is a really nice woman, but she wants you to do a LOT of reading at home, then just discuss the readings in class. I took an intro class, but the quantity of reading was greater than what the class was worth. You CAN scrape by if you don't read, as long as you take really good notes in class, but she'll be upset. Easy class overall.
Class is easy and she is the sweetest teacher! Loved having her class this semester.
She banned technology this semester, only allows one absence, and is honestly rude. Expects way too much from students not majoring in religion and gets angry when we don't lead class for her. It's painful sitting through her classes.
She's a nice woman, but she plays favorites- if you know a lot about religion and participate and do all the reading, she likes you. It's not too hard, the test and quizzes are taken home but every now and then there's a hard assignment that knocks your grade- especially the writing portion of the midterm. Relatively boring class- lecture heavy.
She is such a wonderful professor! Would totally recommend
I highly recoomend people take dr. quesada. She grades fairly and exams aren't hard (she allows notecards) lots of reading every week, and so much information to retain on all worldly religions. 1 midterm exam, 1 midterm essay, 1 group project, 1 final exam.
Dr. Quesada is the best! I have never felt more appreciated by a professor before. She really cares about her students and how class goes. She likes no technology, so get a journal or paper notes. shes super sweet and truly cares. AND it is such an interesting and necessary class to take.
Dr. Quesada is such an amazing professor. She is really passionate and cares about you. You do have to go to class every day and participate, but overall the class is really easy. She does a no tech policy but if you want an easy A, take her.
Dr. Quesada is the sweetest teacher and always engages with what you say and discuss in class.
This professor hates technology- that's fine. She treads carefully when discussing religion. The books provided have an overarching, screaming left-leaning political bias. It is not at all addressed by her. She treads carefully.
Dr. Quesada is an easy grader, but she does not allow technology and if she sees it she will call you out in front of the entire class. U cant use the restroom, and cannot talk to your peers during the lecture. She lectures the ENTIRE class with very boring Powerpoints it is hard to stay awake. Environment is borderline unbearable.
Very kind woman, easy class, but long reading assignments for every class. If no one participates, she gets angry. There are a few quizzes, discussion boards, etc. but she's an easy grader. Participation is mandatory: 1% taken off your grade for every absence. Absolutely no technology allowed. A little boring, but easy religion credit.
Overall, the class isn't difficult and Quesada is very kind and easy to talk to. One of the nicest professors I've ever had and engages with students well. Beware of lots of reading, but the reading tends to be pretty short. She also will give you credit for the assignments if you are present in class which is a huge bonus. Quizzes are easy!
Dr. Quesada is one of the best teachers I have had. Her lectures are very easy to follow along with and she is always open to questions. The readings for the class are very manageable, along with the quizzes. If you get the chance to take her class you should.
Dr Quesada is a great professor! She has a great heart, you can tell she truly cares for her students. Note that there are no devices allowed in the classroom. For assignments, we have discussion posts and essays. For exams/quizzes, there is a midterm & a final (both taken online) and weekly quizzes. Really like being able to complete work at home.
Dr. Quesada is a very professional professor who make her expectations clear from day one. The class is easy to succeed in as long as you pay attention and show up to class. Attendance is mandatory, and your grade will be affected if you miss a certain amount of class sessions.
Very caring. Attendance is mandatory, your grade takes a hit if you skip class. Lots of reading, she gets upset if no one does it. Otherwise, her expectations are very clear, she's an easy grader. Lectures cover interesting topics, but sometimes it's hard to pay attention and a bit boring.
Very lecture heavy so attendance is mandatory, or you will miss out on vital information. Class will be very easy if you take notes and do the reading. Professor Quesada is very caring and wants you to do well in the class, I would highly recommend her to any first level college student.
Only homework is to read the Bible. We have quizzes every two to three weeks but they are open note. She gets upset when people are staring at their screens but overall she is easy. Definitely take her for a religion credit.
Professor Quesada is one of the kindest and most engaging instructors I've had. While the class involves a lot of reading, the assignments are manageable. Quizzes are easy, and attendance is key. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for study prep.
For the most part, she is great. Very nice and caring and wants you to do well. However, she assigns a lot of reading, though she claimed she would dial it down in the future. Tests and quizzes aren't too hard but you definitely need to show up to every class if possible. Also, no phones out whatsoever.
This class feels as if it is run a bit more as a high school class, and the professor treats kids as high school students. It was not exactly my favorite, but I did learn a lot. Most of the class is online and easy, but the final is a little tricky. Keep up with readings and assignments are super easy.
This class feels like the students are treated as high-schoolers, which wasn't the best. Lots of reading, but assignments are super easy. The final is the only slightly tricky part of the class. Attendance is needed for a good grade. Do some of the readings and do good enough work on assignments and you'll be fine. Easyish religion credit.
Quesada is a sweet person and prof! She knows most students are taking the class for credit, so showing her effort and respect is all she really wants. The class was VERY reading & participation heavy. I participated, READ, and still didn't always do the best on the exams, which was really annoying. If you show up for her, she'll show up for you!
I would recommend taking professor Quesada for a religion credit. She cares about student success and was accessible outside of class. She is understanding and will especially help out students who participate in class. The class is very lecture and reading heavy so you do need to go and take notes since most assessments are open notes.
I personally think Dr Quesada is overrated. She is pretty condescending and calls out people if she doesn't think you are paying attention. Every class you miss takes a percent off your final so beware of that. Nice lady at heart all in all.
Professor Quesada was a degrading and misleading professor. No iPhones or computers allowed, but that's not the issue. If she felt you weren't paying attention, she would call you out and belittle your participation. She is a very harsh grader but does not specify what she is looking for, the lectures were the most boring thing to listen to as well
I took this fall of 24. She is so sweet and cares about her students. As long as you read and participate in this class you will be fine. Some classes the lectures are boring, but you get in what you put in. I would take this class if you need a religion credit.
OVER RATED. I dread this class more than anything. This was the first year where the tests aren't online, but she does allow a cheat sheet. The class isn't hard, but all she does is lecture and it's painful. She doesn't like computers. She has major attitude when she realizes no one is paying attention, then she cold call ppl she doesn't like.
Low ratings seem to be from people who don't like being called out for scrolling and general disrespect. Really caring professor. I had a couple personal situations that she was super understanding about. Interesting perspectives. Clear expectations. I would 10/10 recommend Dr. Quesada and this class. Do me a favor and participate. She deserves it!
The actual class is easy, you just have to show up and do the work. Its really annoying because in her syllabus it says every exam is online, however, she decided to make it in person. We did get a cheat sheet tho. She is quite literally always in a bad mood. She treats you like a highschooler, constantly cold calls, and is overall miserable.
Least favorite class and professor i've had during college and im going into senior year, shes always in a bad mood, and takes it out on the class. She's very passionate about this class but doesn't understand that everyone in the class is only taking it to fulfill a requirement. Lectures are boring and she's very opinionated.
Best professor I've had in a long time! Didn't even think I would like the class since I'm not religious but ended up being my favorite of the semester. She is engaging, funny, and thoughtful. Stay off your laptop in class and take notes and you will do fine.
Overall, a fine class, teacher treats you like your 15. Cold calls, no technology, arbitrary grading, pop quizzes that are not in the syllabus, and only gives you 5 minutes for the reading quizzes. In terms of religion classes, it is probably not super difficult but expect to be super bored and be taught by someone with a strong religious bias.
This professor is probably the worst ive taken at tcu. all paper class, expect for pop quizzes online. Very tough grader and will cold call people who are quiet in the class. no phones, computers, anything. Really confuses me why she cares so much about that stuff. wouldn't recommend. if u fail midterm then u will have a U automatically
She's passionate about what she teaches but overall it's hard to know what she expects us to know for the 2 exams. Some of the lectures can be hard to follow especially if your reading comprehension is not the best. Heavily class discussion-based, and if you don't understand the textbook well, exams will be hard. Chunk of your grade is attendance.
She is very passionate about what she teaches. Her lectures are sometimes hard to follow and she gets frustrated when people don't know the answer. She will cold call on you if she thinks you are someone that knows the answer. There are 2 essays and 2 tests so study for the tests and turn your essays in on time.
She is overly criticized. Lots of freshmen take this course, who just think it's hard (it's not). She gives a crazy amount of extra credit opps (got my midterm up 15 points after she curved it 5). Might seem rude, but she just wants you to participate since nobody does. 0 hw. 4 at-home quizzes. Easy A with all the XC and a very passionate teacher!
Cold calls. A lot. She gives lots of extra credit, but it's because YOU NEED IT. As someone who's ending with an A, this class was unreasonably confusing. Expects you to be a biblical scholar on the tests because a ton of it isn't on the review. She's very caring, but gets really frustrated in class, and it's annoying. Feels like high school
Don't have to participate in class. She is super nice and caring. She grades really hard, so I would go to all of the extra credit opportunities because she does give you some, and they are easy to do. easy weekly work but hard tests. the review may help, but not as much as it should. She loves it if you are involved in the class or ask questions.
