I found her to be quite helpful. She is open and available for you and she is honest. The material in the class is difficult but she gets the point across.

Dr. Thompson is a very tuff instructor but I promise you will know your stuff when youre done. If you have her make sure you listen to EVERYTHING she says. She is there if you have questions and I suggest you utilize her office hours.

Class is hard and it does major butt kickin on you but shes a good teacher and knows what shes talking about! test are hard but i guess studying and really paying attention helps! i think overall the class isn't that bad id rather have the hardest teacher than the easiest! i know then that im not doing all that bad!

Dr. Thompson's Anatomy and Physiology was taught very well. Although it was a tricky class for some, I did very little and still got an A. She covers all material for exams in class, if you go to every class, and had a very interesting class. Take her class if you want to learn a lot, and are willing to put the work into it!

Dr. Thompson is a very good professor. She knows what she is talking about, she has a lot of experience and she stays on topic. There are a lot of tests but they aren't too bad as long as you study and go over your notes everyday. I would definately recommend her as a professor to anyone who is interested in the medical field. She knows her stuff.

SHE IS HEAD OF THE BIOLOGY DEPT. FOR A REASON. SHE IS CLEAR AND PRECISE ON WHAT SHE EXPECTS AND WANTS OUT OF HER STUDENTS. IF ONLY I COULD TAP INTO HER BRAINWAVES DURING THE EXAMS.

Dr. Thompson is a very thorough teacher. She explains things until you understand them and is willing to help when you don't during office hours. She is difficult and her tests are very hard unless you really study. She especially likes matching questions. Make sure you study all of her tables and charts completely. Overall she was excellent.

Her material is very well put and easy to understand. Although her tests are difficult, the class will teach you a lot! I would highly recommend her class! She is very knowledgable in human anatomy.

She is very knowledgable on the topic, and gets through a ton of material. I learned alot yet her tests are impossible. I had a 3.8 gpa prior to her class, and still im forced to retake it. Figure that one out for yourselves...Goodluck if you take her.

She is an excellent professor. She is one of the smartest women I have ever met. If you want an easy A, don't take this class. If you really want to learn and attend class then this is the class for you. Nothing bad to say, just study, study, study and you will do just fine

THIS is a HARD class. she answers all questions thrown her way. she is sooo smart. MAKE SURE U KNOW CHEMISTRY!! attend class, take notes, and use lots of flashcards and u'll b fine

This is not an easy course no matter which teacher you have. Thompson is a very good teacher, she is very smart. As long as you attend class and take and study your notes you will be fine. I never used the book for this class, all her quiz questions are taken from the notes. I would highly recommend taken her. I am taking her again for A&PII.

Dr. Thompson is a great teacher. She is very helpful and makes herself available outside of class. She truly is there to help you succeed if you are willingly to ask for and take the help. She is hard but you will definitely learn in her class if you regularly attend and study the notes that she gives you. I would definitely take her again.

She answers any questions you may have and is available outside of class for extra help. She definitely wants to see you succeed. No book needed with her!

she can be a hard teacher if you dont study but if you study as you add to your notes you should be fine. if you study the day before the test you will be fine.

Janis is an excellent teacher. She'll say what she wants you to learn, write in on the board and then have your write it to reinforce the information. She has a lot of on-line tools to help with the material and reviews her previous lecture at the beginning of the next class. She is tough in grading and her test but you'll learn a lot!

Fantastic teacher! Lectures are very easy to follow, very explanatory- record to reference later! Offers tons of extra study tools online and is very welcoming to any and all questions. Best teacher I ever had here. Her tests are difficult- duh! But very practical and doable. Study and you can pass with an A easily.

I took this class on line. You do have to study for her tests whe is very helpful and explains everything well. She is a great teacher and would reccommend her to anyone. I would love to take a class from this teacher again. She is very nice. Her tests are difficult but they should be but she gives you exactally what you need to study.

Dr. Thompson is an excellent professor! You can’t miss if you apply yourself. She is also very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. She made learning the material interesting and fun. The study aids with each section helped with learning the material. This class challenged my as an internet class but I passed with a "B".

You don't need the textbook. I opened it maybe twice. If you take her anatomy class, my advice is: study, study, study. It's not easy and there is a lot of material. Utilize the supplemental lessons she gives you online, they help. Her midterm and final are multiple choice. The rest of the tests are short answer and fill the blank.

Dr thompson class is very time consuming. If you study the notes that she puts on the board you are GOING TO PASS. She offers help. You dont need the book. Her midterm and final over ride any test grade that is low (as long as it is higher). Final and midterm are multiple choice. Good teacher.

If you go to class and write down what she does on the board, and pay attention during lecture, you will do great! Amazing teacher. Had a lot going on this semester and she was understanding. If you study and pay attention, you will pass. very helpful!!!! there is a reason she is the dean of the science department (thats what i heard) she says herself her classes are no cake walk ( A&P 1&2) you need dedication and she is tough but you will know your stuff.

I loved her! She explained things to where you could understand them. The only bad thing was the tests were basically your only grade. She did give 2 extra credit assignments. The key to her class is to STUDY! This class takes a lot of time so make sure you can fit it into your schedule.

Anatomy and Physiology I is a tough course no matter who the professor is because there is a LOT of memorization. Her lectures are jam packed with info, be sure to write down any examples she gives you or stories she tells to clarify a concept because they WILL show up on her tests as extended response questions! Was very helpful when asked.

If you read any negative ratings on Dr. Thompson, it would be because these people clearly did not put in the effort it takes to excel well. Dr. Thompson is amazing! Her tests are arranged to prepare to to think in clinical terms. She is always willing to help. She is beyond inspiring and will push you to do well. She really cares about our success

She presents the material very clearly, but the tests are very difficult. I understood most topics, but the tests threw me for a loop.

When I first read reviews I was pretty scared and disappointed. Now that the semester has come to an end I am very pleased with how well she taught. Her tests are not a walk in the park but you really do learn and thats what is important when taking a class. I feel very prepared for my future in nursing and am very happy I put in all the hard work!

Dr. Thompson doesn't mess around. She posts all of the material early in the semester, so you can work ahead if you'd like. She has a lot of lab quizzes: easy, and a lot of lecture exams: hard. There are also discussion posts and a nutrition project that can bump up your grade. (She wants tests to be closed book, but it's an online class so...)

Dr. Thompson is clearly passionate about her work. She was a phenomenal professor. She has a test about every other week, but she replaces your lowest score with your midterm. She explains the concepts well and is focused on getting you the information you need to move on in school.

I couldn't have been more pleased with having her as my professor for both A&P 1 and 2. She is a very intelligent woman, who knows a lot about what she is teaching. The only thing you are graded on are tests, which are difficulit. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you miss a class, you'll regret it. Her tests are solely based off of her lectures

I loved her class, her lectures were so fun and interesting. Its a good thing they were because most of the information to pass was in those lectures. She also put some really good notes online. She gave 2 good opportunities for extra credit. I cant wait for A&P 2 :D

I took this as a full-term course. She was extremely organized with Canvas, which I LOVED. Everything is setup perfect and easy to find. I didn't use the textbook but I did use the lab book and the lesson plans she creates for notes. The exams are only difficult if you don't read her lesson plans and study. You'll need to study for sure!

If you miss class, she will have you get lecture notes from other students. Tests use material covered in lecture but in an application-style format. She is knowledgeable, but you definitely need to study for her exams! She can be a picky grader so make sure you have all of the details in written responses on exams.

She writes out awesome notes during the entire lecture! If you attend lecture and write down what she writes and studies from and the activities she puts online you will pass no problem! I loved her. She's very nice and caring and understanding. She is a fair grader not to tough and she wants you to pass. I wanted to have her for AP II.

Dr. Thompson is an amazing Professor! highly highly recommend. If u attend her lecture, take good notes, and study from the notes/study guides, you will do well in her class. Time consuming class and you must put time in to be successful!

I took professor Thompson's A&P prep class and at first I was very nervous but she was an amazing teacher. There is a lot of reading and you have to take notes but every week she went over what we were supposed to read and prepared us for the quizzes. Overall if you attend class, participate, and take good notes you will pass.

She's clearly very knowledgable, incredibly organized, and I personally find her engaging in lectures. Anatomy and Physiology is a memorization-heavy course by nature, so it can seem like a lot, but her expectations are actually very reasonable. If you keep up, you can absolutely do well in her classes and learn so much.

I intentionally took Janis for A+P 2 after having her for A+P1. I think she's a great professor. She actually records lectures, has great notes to read that prepare you for the test, and is very responsive. A+P is a hard class no matter who teaches it but I felt like I understood the concepts with her.
