Assignments every week. Gotta take notes on the powerpoints to pass the assignments. The quizzes have the same questions as the assignments but notes not allowed for quizzes. use the assignments as study guides. There's 2 group presentations and 2 individual presentations it's not a hard class unless you don't take notes or can't pass the quizzes.
Quizzes are easy but make sure to prepare for presentations.
Assignments are open notes. The questions are word for word for the PowerPoint and the quizzes are the assignments again. Super fun class and super easy
Quizzes are easy but make sure to do good on your presentations.
He teaches from PowerPoints that have textbook information. There are multiple quizzes and in class activities so make sure you study! There are also group projects and presentations which are my favorite part. He gives you almost entire creative freedom and gives you good feedback on what to improve. However, you can't pick what group you are in
I like the class!
Work mainly consists of in class assignments take with notes and then quizzes are just the same questions from those assignments with a few different ones added. It's impossible to fail this class unless you are genuinely just not trying. You also don't need the book the PowerPoints slides are enough to pass.
The class was very easy. The in-class assignments are based on the presentations he reads in class. However, the presentations are a tad bit more difficult but easy if you try to be animated, know your subject, and look at the audience.
Great overall Professor clear on instructions and feedback . Would take again!
You will pass as long as you do the work. There are quizzes, icebreakers, two group presentations, and two individual presentations. I recommend making a powerpoint for your speeches, shows you put in effort and are prepared. Your grade mostly depends on the speeches, the quizzes don't count much. Not a hard class just be prepared. No memorization.
He's very easygoing
Don't be shy be confident and be bold
He's a good professor.
He made me more comfortable speaking in person than before
He isa great teacher
Mr. Noel is a great teacher. I remember the first time doing my presentation I was shy, after he gave me his feedback I worked hard and I improve myself. I ended up his class with a good grade.
Get ready for Presentation almost every class.
The professor is quite laid-back & stern when necessary. He keeps the lectures informative with examples & strives to make sure the subject is understood. I'd retake him for an Easy A or B! - Jerry Spring MDC 2025
Pretty chill, some work to do but you can skate by , presentation skills just have to be quality.
Lots of presentations 3 groups and 3 individual. Gives you good feedback to improve later on in the course. Must study for the class assignments and quiz no devices allowed only written notes. Great class overall I do see improvement in my public speaking skills.
The class was not difficult.
He's a tough grader when it comes to all the small things in a presentation, but he will give you feedback. As long as you follow the feedback you will get good grades.
This class will rise your confidence at the time of speaking in front of people. He makes you feel comfortable and easy to present. Makes the students talk a lot so the shyness go away.
Group presentations were fun, he's a cool teacher overall, the class was fairly easy just make sure you attend the class. In class assignments we're open notes just make sure you write down everything. Quizzes are not open note so be sure to study right before that way it's easier to remember
The professor was actually clear since day one about his expectations and he actually cares about students improving on public speaking. He's good but make sure to study cause everything on the powerpoint is on the tests or similar to it. He doesn't make it difficult but just make sure to study. Same thing for assignments just use your notes.
An easy & engaging class! If you're shy this may help you step out of your comfort zone.
The class is easy, yet laidback. All you got to do is individual presentations, group presentations, icebreakers, in-class assignments, and quizzes throughout the semester
Chill professor, group presentations, quizzes. study nd you'll be fine
Professor Jantzsen Noel, is a phenomenal teacher. Although he is a SPC professor it's ironic how quiet he can be. Professor Noel is a great all around person and willing to work with each student.
he's okay.
his very good be on time make attendance you good
This professor definitely deserves a raise. He's one of those teachers that makes you actually want to come to class. He keeps things real, doesn't overcomplicate stuff, and I'm not the most outgoing person, but in his class, I didn't feel out of place. He doesn't force you but the energy in class makes it easier to come out of your shell.
He does really help you with your presentation skills and gives you heavy and valuable feedback but in my opinion don't take his class to early
Write down what he says when he lectures he will write it down as questions for class assignments. He is a good teacher!!
Very straightforward class. Two group presentations, two individual presentations, in class assignments, and quizzes. I am now more comfortable and confident speaking in public. The presentations were about anything you want which made it easier. Highly recommend.
Was a nice class, you will learn
He is awesome, I am more confident in my abilities to speak. He shows fairness and is kind
He's a good teacher, very tough grader, gave me a 50% on a test for a very dumb reason once did not appreciate, overall kinda good teacher
He's… ok I guess. Gives penalties, will take your quiz or in-class assignment if you go to the bathroom during. There is also a lot of writing so make sure to have a notebook.
What I liked about professor Noel is that he is great with lectures, he presents the information in a clear and understandable manner. One thing I didn't like is that I had trouble knowing my grade until the end of the semester. But overall, he's a great professor! Extremely helpful, 8.5/10 would definitely recommend!
The class structure is fairly predictable. He lectures, open note in class assignment then quiz. Same thing over and over for every chapter. 2 group presentations and 2 individual ones. Graded icebreakers. The professor himself has a bit of an off vibe but it doesn't interfere with the class itself. He's very strict about attendance.
he is upfront about his policies from day one. highly suggest taking him though!! I would take him for more classes becus some of the teachers are boring
Fun class 4 speeches 2 group speechs , once you get comfortable with the people in the class presenting is not that bad everyone gets nervous so its not bad when you are, doesnt take points off if you have a heavy accent extra credit on quizzes, need to take notes, overall easy class.
Easy class with a chill professor. The assignments were easy. The professor provides feedback on your presentations. The feedback given helped me improve my grade on the next presentation. Also, the professor replies to emails within 10 minutes.
This was not a hard class to pass unless you didn't try. He tells you what we'll be doing next class and next week so if you get low grades, it's on you. Just come on time, take notes, and get ready for speeches. This was a easy class if you worked.
I got a B in his class. You have to do good in the presentations and quizzes. Take notes during class and use them for assignments each week, but they are not difficult. Quizzes have extra credit. Had I studied for the last quiz I would have gotten an A, but I did not bother. Straight forward.
Great teacher
He is a great professor, pretty chill makes the class fun
Hey Professor, it's Michael Efrece from your summer Intro to Speech class! I just wanted to share with you and everyone reading this that I had an amazing time with this class. I highly recommend it to everyone that needs to take a Speech class. It's very easy and you get to know the other students in your class very well.
He aint bad, just go to class and you'll be good
ARE U READYY
He is a great professor, he brings a good vibe when you bring a good vibe, he does grade fairly, you have to be on your game, but it's fun sharing with the class and involving your creativity and knowledge, 100% would take him again. I will really miss him- we love you Noelly- Melany Garciaaaa
He is a really good teacher and helped me improve my social skills while talking
He's good.
Don't be scared to talk in front of a group. just do it
Be ready to do a lot of group projects
Yea he's cool
Very strict but fair.
Overall, managed to create a cohesive and comfortable classroom. Highly respectable as an educator, gives honest and effective constructive criticism. Seems to have a genuine drive to see students improve. He is clear with instructions and grading criteria, leaving you with little to no surprises.
I'm impressed with quickly you completed all of your tasks we appreciate your insight into unexpected problem thank you for your consistent hard work. I had an amazing experience. Thank you?
You must attend his class on time. As long as you follow what he says and the syllabus, you will pass his class. You will feel more comfortable and confident speaking in public when you're done taking his class. I recommend taking this professor. You won't regret it.
Honestly the class is smooth, he gives you all the answer in the lectures and assignments given before the due date. Attendance is not mandatory but it is, in a sense it counts towards your grade at the end or if you're absence with no valid excuse you won't be able to recuperate what you missed. overall, everything be pretty chill.
Memorize your speeches and prepare your presentations with good detail
Good professor. Prepare to work in groups multiple times. You have to obviously present in front of the class. Clear rubric on assignments. Gives feedback on every presentations. You have in class assignments that are open book. Then a quiz after every two in class assignments. You will be presenting quite a lot but gives you creative freedom.
Professor Noel was very informative throughout the course and the course guidelines are clear. He provides great feedback. I would highly recommend taking him if the class has open seats.
He makes class more interesting! I give him a 9.3 out of10
Really harsh on the mandatory attendance and on grading your speeches. He was rude when I asked why I got marked down for having my arms crossed for a minute because I was cold, and then he mocked me in a rude tone. There are chapter assignments that are useful for the tests.
He's class is very boring, and he's a rude teacher, and every week you have to do an exam based on a lot of PowerPoint that he gave and he's walking around a lot for this quiz. You can't even be 2 minutes late it will affect your grade to finish HE MAKES, every students RATE HIM by the end of the semester on this website in class before we leave.
This course isn't hard to pass if you're on time and take notes. The assignments are open-note & mostly multiple choice. Group presentations are the worst since he chooses your group and is very picky with his grading. Going a few seconds overtime hurts your grade. Overall, He's extremely rude, passive aggressive, and loves giving vague responses.
Fun class, decent professor.
One more thing
Professor Noels class is fun!! Make sure you pay attention and take notes. Thank you. Britney
I honestly had a blast with this professor, it was test heavy and had many things to grade but honestly it was fun and it helped me a lot in being more confident in public speaking. Make sure you study up!!! It's extremely important that you actually read up on the material he gives you since the topic goes hand in hand with test material
The SPC experience was overall fun, and interesting. The examples during the lectures definitely help. For quizzes you have to study but everything is provided to you to pass quizzes and assignments as well. Overall, I liked the class and it has led me into the right step of becoming a better public speaker.
ARE YOU READ! The class was fun and I learn a lots.
If you want to improve your speech its best to speak with the professor directly to get more detailed feedback. However there are lots of easy open notes quizzes that give you lots of chances of picking up your grade. Most of the grades come with presentation with half of them being Group ones, so take it with a couple friends if u can!
This teacher is the goat
Nice calm class, nothing was to difficult. You just really have to get comfortable with talking in front of people and you should be fine.
Write down your notes.
He is a fun teacher and I very much enjoyed the class. ARE YOU READYYYY
I came in this class scared to talk it I was terrified at public speaking infront of others especially those I dont know. But this class is my favorite class of my college year so far I've learned about myself and others. Highly recommend if you're scared of public speaking or giving speeches you get a better grip of yourself.
Solid teacher, just do what you need to do and you get an A. Pay very close attention on assignments and quizzes because they can be tricky. You'll genuinely improve as a speaker after this class.
This class helped me come out my shell and I was able to do fun things with the class.
Lots of presentation, lots of talking, group work, it was an okay class
Your choice to take this class. Take at your own risk.
Very clear grader, sends frequent emails and reminders, and pretty easy to reach out to. Provides practice rooms if resevered in advance. Extra credit for end of semester competition. Check your rubrics, and make sure to attend. Very simple class.
The evil blue shirt mastermind, is a tough grader. But if you're lucky he will make the semester fun. Mercy to however falls upon his gaze, only god may help you now. Good luck
Good teacher
Professor Noel is truly inspirational. He pushes you to challenge yourself and believe in your ability to succeed. One of the best professors I've had.
I'm a Hispanic student, and at first I was really scared when I started my classes. Especially the public speaking I was afraid I wouldn't understand anything. But honestly, I was surprised. It's actually pretty easy, especially the communication part. You just have individual and group presentations, the exams aren't hard, and that's basically it.
It wasn't a bad class. The assignments were very doable. This isn't a class that will stress you out. The class is based on presentations. Although, I wouldn't take the class again due to his personality and because I'm not fawn of how he handles certain situations. Be very aware of how you are in this class he drop you for anything you do.
Rehearse and be prepared for your presentations even if you don't have visuals. if you make it fun, you get a higher grade. Don't mess up on quizzes but if you do there's a optional quiz
Da extra credit competition was fire
This class helped me get past a lot of anxiety
Don't be afraid. Be brave!
