Chapman is disorganized and not very clear. I recommend taking Jeff Peterson instead
Jared was a great teacher! His lectures were exciting and kept you interested. His course was designed as ?go at your own pace? and structured in an easy manner. TAKE THIS CLASS. It was cake.
One of my favorite teachers. Lectures are very involved and well done. Great teacher, great class. I would take him again.
Great teacher. Loved going to class. Learned something new each time. Has great experience and plan on taking his MGMT 4800 class
Great teacher, I am a not go to class very much type of student; however, I haven't missed one of his because it is very enjoyable and I have learned a lot. I really recommend this teacher.
Jared is very good at teaching, but he is so disorganized in grading and had like 3 canvases for different assignments? Attendance was literally based on paper rock scissors of whether it would count that day. Had 70 question assignments due 1-2 times a week, and then stats in the media were main assignment. So disorganized that I had to dropclass
Stick with his class and you won't regret it! It looks overwhelming at first, but it's not. Students grade the assignments so be kind. He gives you the answers to his tests through his quizes and he lets you take the quizes as many times as you need until you get a score you like. Great professor and a genius in his field! I'd take him again!
Such an amazing professor!! This was the class that made me decide to change my major to business. A self assessment and a case study articulation, as well as a pre class quiz is due every work, but super easy. Tests are all taken straight from the pre quizzes. In class lectures were awesome and entertaining; he has a lot of experience to share.
Very well educated, personable. Class teaches you a lot, but you must keep up. Lectures don't help with your grade, but are well worth attending.
cool guy, easy enough class. do your work and you'll get an A. Disorganized? maybe a tad. you gotta keep up on the assignments or you'll get swamped and get an F. He doesn't hold class if he doesn't have something worth teaching you. So GO TO CLASS, he ain't just filling up time like most professors at UVU.
He requires an incredible amount of busy work every week. His lectures, while occasionally interesting, are largely unrelated to the work we're required to do outside of class. He uses a website for all of his assignments which has caused problems almost every week. Ultimately, this has caused the class to be completely disjointed and disorganized.
Interesting class, but there is an unbelievable amount of work involved. The biggest problem has been clarity in communication. His tests are phrased poorly, and often have more than one right answer. Vague explanations don't help either. Good guy... not a great teacher. If you have a lot of classes, this one isn't for you.
I took this class on line, and there is a lot of work to be done for this class, quizes, discussions, tests, lectures. Tests were poorly written. Online class project which is difficult to complete with others who are not able to meet and complete project. If you are going to take the online class you must be deciated to the course work.
Took the class online. The weekly assignments aren't hard, but they can be time consuming. There was a big "personal reflective paper" as well as a massive group project. He told a group member that he knows nothing about this subject. He just copied the whole class over from another teacher, and we decided that he rarely read any of our work.
Take if you like to do 15+ hours of completely pointless busy work each week. the tests are 50 questions, but he gives you 4 practice tests for each real test, with each practice test having over a hundred questions. the quizzes each week are equally long and pointless.
Loved the class. There are a few weeks in the middle of the semester that seem a little overwhelming with the amount of work. Class attendance isn't required, but his presentations and activities are worth going to class for. He is super organized and you know from day one what is expected of you. He is very fair in grading. Highly Recommend.
He is seriously the man! His class is very interesting and his lectures are great. He is extremely smart and wants everyone to succeed. EASY A if you have an work ethic at all. He gives you the exact questions and answers for the test. Highly recommend!
Dr. Chapman is awesome! He is funny and very engaging in class. The main struggle in this class are the quizzes. Spend the time to get a good grade on the quizzes. Those questions will be used on the exams.
The dude was un-freaking-real!!! And to get it out of the way, yes, unrealistically easy. Class wasn't required yet I never missed a class. His lectures were so dope. I'm not kidding, I learned more application to the real world over any other class.
you can complete assignments and tests as fast as you want. Very willing to help. Tests are easy! you take 1 quiz a week (online)that can take a couple of hours (open book) he gives your pre-test quizzes that are word for word the same as quizzes. The tests are 50 questions (mult. choice), WORD FOR WORD from the quizzes. book is free!
His classes are sorta boring and confusing. His tests are tough, but at least he reviews them before the test (if you take his class, don't miss the review days). He doesn't use the textbook. But the biggest let down about his class is that he doesn't record anything on Canvas, so you never know your grade until the end of the semester. ok Prof...
Pro Chapman was awesome! If given the chance, take this class from him online. He doesn't make it completely easy, but simply lays everything out for you to pass. He always emails the progress of the class and if you have questions he will answer them quickly and clearly. I would recommend this class to anyone that does not procrastinate.
The best Professor I have ever had, no joke. I took his course a few semesters ago (I'm currently in the middle of a semester) and I cant stop thinking of how much I enjoyed attending his classes. He really knows how to get you to understand the material. I wish all professors had such dedication in helping their students succeed. He's genuine.
This class was interesting. You had the entire semester to do steps in getting the grade. You could finish the class as fast as you wanted. I was able to finish in Oct. That was nice. The class was great.
Jared Chapman is a fantastic instructor. He has a very unique Canvas setup which can be a little bit difficult to understand. But the course is easy & he lets you work ahead so you can finish it in a few weeks. He is very helpful and passionate about what he does. Great professor!!
Jared uses the most unique approach to teaching this subject. Very interesting, however 100% different from ANY class you will ever take. If you are up for an adventure with an incredible teacher who will always give you feedback he is your guy. If you want a traditional class with textbook this class is not for you. INCREDIBLE PROFESSOR! BEST EVER
He has a unique & complex course structure, but once you understand it, it's easy peasy. He lets you work ahead & I was able to finish his course in 3 weeks with just one or two hours a day. It is a very interesting course & I learned a lot.
This class is easy. You can find all the answers are online. Not a normal class but I liked it. If you want to actually learn the subject well I wouldn't suggest him.
Good teacher knows his stuff. Id take him for sure
I took the online version of MGMT3000. It was super easy. I was done with the class within a month of starting it because you can work at your own pace to get the material done. It is very easy to get an A in the class--just keep up with the class pace. Almost all of the exam questions are in the exam reviews, so study those a lot.
If you can take this class, do it! I finished the class in about five weeks. It's a go at your own pace and so easy but you actually learn a lot. Quizlet will be your best friend and I didn't realize that till the last third of the class so I ended with an A-. Get to know quizlet and you'll have an easy A.
Take this class!! Best online class I've taken. You work at your own pace, I finished the class in about 6 weeks. But if you're not good at staying on top of things, be careful. Quizlet has lots of help. 3 total tests, but do the reviews and you'll do just fine. The way he formats his class might seem weird at first, but give it time, it's worth it
Took this class online and I would recommend you do the same! You get to work at your own pace and can finish the class as quickly as you'd like (also penalties if you fall too far behind). Prof was always willing to help and reply to emails/concerns. Fairly easy A! You won't regret taking this class online from Chapman!
I was able to complete this full Summer course in the first block with an A+. You can take the first exam as early as you want and then the rest during any test window. Don't fall behind. If you stay ahead you get extra credit!
Take. This. Class. He gamified the online class and it's amazing. You learn a ton, but get to go at any pace you want. Some people finished the whole course in a week, others didn't start until halfway through. You start at 0 points and level up all the way through the class, which is a better way to structure it. I wish he taught other classes!!
Take the class online as everyone says! There is a lot of quiz style questions. He gives you all the answers to the exams. It is only difficult to figure the game out... Everything else is not to bad. I finished this course in 5 days online. You won't regret taking this class. And you could also add harder classes because this is not difficult.
TAKE THIS CLASS. Prof Chapman would reply if there were any questions/concerns about the way he structures the class. I talked to others about how much I enjoyed the class. I finished the class in four weeks. Excellent class to take online!
Great class. The teacher is helpful with any questions. Id recommend doing a little bit of hw everyday to stay ahead & to avoid getting penalty points. Study guides are helpful. You do need to study well, especially for the applied questions portion of the test. Overall the class is clear on how you get a high grade in the class. Just do the work
The way Jared's class is set up is entertaining. If you like your class is set up like a game then take him! He uses delphinium, which is the software that runs the class. There is TONS of writing, but if you get them done early you can be done with the class within a few weeks.
Professor "gamified" the course, which made it much more enjoyable and motivating to complete assignments. Cafeteria-style w/ a mix of mandatory and optional assignments. You'll need to complete 80% of the optional assignments to get an A. The optional assignments are A LOT of writing. Do not take this course if you aren't a self-starter.
This course starts at 0 points and you build from there. It's extremely interesting, but it's confusing to not really know where your grade is until the END OF THE SEMESTER. Should've been a very simple course, and it is, but don't skip optional assignments if you actually want an A. He's more concerned about the program he built than he is for you
Attendance is mandatory. If I could have taken this class online I would have. The lectures are basically everything you end up reading in the textbook. If you want to hear the information twice, take the face to face class. One big project that is done in parts, throughout the semester. Grading is based of the project and weekly homework/quizzes.
This class was so fun! He designed it very differently than any other class that I have taken. The grading is based on weekly quizzes and tests once you are done with modules. Super awesome and easy class, as long as you do the work. I definitely learned a lot!
This class was great, but the AAPR's (self-assessment surveys) were so heavy and they take so many days to get corrected, so do yourself a favor and don't wait til the end of the semester to complete them, because they take up too much dam time. You also have to review your peers papers for EACH assessment, so beware, and get ready to spend hours!
He has an interesting course layout where you build your grade up from 0 instead of starting at 100. You could complete the whole course in a weekend if you really wanted to, especially since everything is on Quizlet.
This class is awesome in how it is setup. Very much a work at your own pace, so if you struggle with self motivation or procrastination i do not recommend this for you. You learn a lot and his content is easy to follow. I definitely recommend this class.
This was one of my favorite classes, its set up like a video game and super unique. It is a lot of work and writing heavy but also self paced with no due dates so thats nice. I am intentionally trying to take as many classes as possible from him because its so convenient and fun almost. I learned a lot and the material is interesting.
This class is very reading and writing intensive. The exams are difficult, and there are mandatory practice exams that are well over 100 questions. The only way to get an A is to write a lot of papers. The papers aren't long, but they must be peer reviewed in order to receive a grade. The worst part is waiting for someone to review your papers
The class is set up like a game and I really liked it. For those that are ambitious and want to work ahead, you'll love this. I finished 75% of the class in a week and a half. Then I didn't worry about it for almost the rest of the semester. I just focused on my other classes. Highly recommend.
This is probably one of the best classes I have ever taken. I have such a tough time with school and have always dreaded it, but this class was completely different. Since it is self paced, I was able to finish everything pretty early on in the semesterand I had fun doing it! I didn't think that was possible in school.
He doesn't use Canvas to run his course. He created a separate software program that his class is operated through. It's extremely buggy and takes about 3 minutes for the thing to completely load without bugging out. A lot of papers to write. I still feel very confused about how the software operates. Not a fan of it at all.
This class was very interesting. You do the homework assignments on your own pace but if you go too slow you do gain penalty points. If you get ahead you gain bonus points. It was odd but effective. It helped me keep on track. The assignments were very interesting to read and complete. Although every lesson had some sort of writing assignment.
The course was gamified and completely at your own pace. I actually really liked it! Of course there are parts of it that couild be improved, (one is for the program to show a list of what needs to be done) but it was not that hard. Also the exams are online proctored by proctoria, but i hardly studied and got B's on them. He is also quick to resp.
I liked the fact that we could go at our own pace throughout this course. But it really isn't necessary having a professor as this was all self-guided and the layout of the class was done through a website. Anytime I emailed Dr. Chapman I feel like I didn't get all my questions answered and the response didn't feel genuine. Would NOT recommend.
I started out this course because I do use this site for determining which professor to take. Personally I love structure and am used to using Canvas, this class is not structured. Professor Chapman did gamify his class using a different software and input it into Canvas. I couldn't tell what the next thing was and found the game to be difficult.
I was worried about the gamification aspect of this class, because there is no structure at all. I worked ahead and got my grade up to a 92% and thought I would be fine... nope! On the last day of classes my grade still showed 92% but my final grade went all the way down to a D+. Needless to say, I will be taking the class again.. but not from him.
This class was certainly interesting. The class is like a maze, where you complete assignments and earn points. This is REALLY cool, but the content was kinda drab. The curriculum felt like corporate-schlock they make you watch when you get a new job, and I hated that you couldn't redo assignments (not tests.) He seemed very nice, I'd recommend...
This class is hard but it shouldn't be. He uses this thing called delphinium that is buggy and will mess up your grade. Expect to spend 8 hours a week doing busy work that is required. He made the application that you use for the class and seems to care more about his software than students. Take from someone else.
Prof Chapman is so deeply entrenched in his own creation (the delphinium platform) that he can't see how absolutely ridiculous it all is. This has to be the most convoluted course I have ever taken. 100+ FAQ tiles just to explain how to navigate the platform? Nah. Don't waste your time with this silly professor and his delusions.
Way more writing intensive than a class like this needs to be. There are 24 "AAPR" writing assignments, 250-300 words each. For each, you are required to peer review 3 other papers, and then review the reviews. There's also 5 more 2-3 page papers, with the same process. Tests use Proctorio. Avoid this professor unless you love writing.
Honestly, this class would not be so bad if it weren't for the video game-style class that is super wack and frustrating and all the busy work that he assigns us, or the Peerceptiv software that your peers unfairly grade you. If he gives us all this busy work, I think it's only fair that Prof. Chapman gets to grade it.
GO TAKE THIS CLASS FROM ANOTHER PROFESSOR!!! This class is a waste of time and money. The whole semester is a bunch of busy work. Most assignments you fill out a survey and write a response about it. All the assignments are VERY time consuming and there is a TON of them. If you fall behind you get docked points too.
The content of the class really isn't hard, but you write SO many papers. Your grade is based on how many "points" you earn, so you can really pick and choose what assignments you do. You do have to wait for other students to review your paper before you get a grade, so you may be waiting a month or two to get a grade back.
This class was a weird layout and it was hard to stay ahead. There technically aren't any due dates, but you have to earn a specific number of points by a certain date. The assignments are a ton of reading for hardly any points which makes it difficult to stay ahead. Overall, it is not too difficult, just a weird layout.
Worst class! So many assignments for very little points. This is frustrating because your entire grade is based on earning points. It feels like we are supposed to act as the student and the teacher - we have to write and grade papers. I don't mind occasionally peer reviewing papers, but after 90+ papers, it gets old. Grading papers is not our job.
This class is designed in a way that Professor Chapman is fully uninvolved. We grade other students' papers for him. This class consists of a bunch of busy work. Most of them are dumb 1/2-page writing assignments that are time consuming and worthless. I learned nothing in this course and am relieved to be done with this dumb class.
How he formats his class does not work with the types of assignments. This class has no due dates, but most of our assignments are peer-reviewed. You'll be forced to hope other students happen to review your submission for the points to stay above the "red line". Tons of reading and mandatory study guides of 225+ questions each. It's so bad.
I HATE the way this course is organized. It's confusing and hard to follow. There is so much work in this class. It's decently easy, just time consuming and SO much. Stay on top of the work or you get penalized. There's lots of quizzes, and writing assignments, and a few group projects. It's an easy class but I didn't like it.
First of all, super easy content. As you would expect with subject matter of this type. Here's the problem. The volume of homework is absolutely obscene. It is obnoxious. The only reason Jared is a 4/5 currently is that there isn't really another option. You're basically picking the best evil in MGMT 3000. Jared, this is a busy work class.
I am not sure what Professor Chapman is paid to do. Every paper and group project is graded by your peers. I was getting docked points for things that weren't required because my classmates weren't well-informed. I don't blame them I blame Chapman for setting up that class this way. It's unfortunate there's no other way to take this course.
This class is essentially another writing class. It is easy enough, but too much busy work. Everything is completed through Canvas and Peerceptiv so Prof. Chapman is uninvolved and you don't get any feedback. The Peerceptiv process is exhausting. Not only do you write 30 papers, but you review 90 peer papers, and 90 of the reviews on your papers.
This is the most painful class I have ever taken in my entire life. This professor has way too much free time on his hands. Instead of using canvas, which we all already know how to use, he makes you entirely learn a new software that he created, which is quite literally the most ridiculously complicated thing. Obscene amount of busy work.
So many papers, not kidding when I say I did 90 papers in this course, the professor uses a beta software that is not Canvas so its a lot more work to check up on. Grading takes forever because of Peerceptiv and there is little to no feedback from Chapman. Not a recommend professor in my opinon.
Easy A, but the teacher does nothing. Students grade each others papers. Idk if this dude is the laziest teacher ever, but he thinks hes a genius for his class setup where he does nothing. The whole class is just writing papers and grading other students. Its the worst class tbh but an easy A. Chapman needs to learn to actually do his job.
This was honestly the most awful class I have ever taken. The class is brain-numbing, so much reading, SOOO many papers, the way its setup is horrible. Chapman was trying to be quirky with his setup but it is very complicated and makes you want to cry. He does not even grade assignments, it is all done through peerceptive.
Please do not take this course from this professor, find someone else. It seems easy, but it is deceptively stressful. Just as an example this professor feels it is necessary to award negative points in a course with no due dates. There are so many minor issues like this that amount to this being the worst class I have ever taken. Just stay clear.
This class is awful. The only reason I rated it a one is because I can't do a zero.
Class is straight awful. Jared pretends to care with personalized messages but its poorly disguised. Way too much work and the class becomes a factory of busy work. Would rather dropout then suffer through another class with Jared.
You can call me Jared because I'm chapped man. I beg anyone thinking about taking this course from this professor to find another way. It is a war crime how many assignments there are. Nothing is super difficult, but I had less homework during a whole semester taking 18 credits, than I had from this one class. Reevaluate please, for your own good.
I am sure the professor is a nice guy. But DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT take this class unless you enjoy ripping your eyebrows out one by one. It is set up like a video game, if video games were not fun and made you wish you could go back to the good old days when the plague was all the rage. I'd rather watch JoJo Siwa sing karma on loop for 10 hours.
Chapmans online experience is a straight scam and possibly the biggest scam in the business department. The way the class is designed is ridiculous and the points awarded are not proportional to the amount of effort required. His class is out of touch with the other mgmt3000 classes taught. Avoid this at all costs.
The amount of assignments is ridiculous. This class has so much busy work, and all of the assignments are formatted the exact same way, so you end up just BSing them to get them done and stay afloat. It could actually be a cool class with good insights if there wasn't so much to do.
Class is awful so much busy work no real learning or application
I want you to understand that I'm not exaggerating when I say this. I would rather redo every class I have ever taken from kindergarten until now than take this class again. Dreaded every second of it. Didn't learn a thing. More likely lost brain cells in this class. Set up like a game if the game was a 50 hour long game of risk without the fun.
Format of the class is truly awful, I have nothing personal against Chapman seems like a cool guy but this class is terrible. I think this class is a brutal waste of time because there is no real teaching. All the busy work seems like a cheap way to be busy without real learning
Do yourself a favor and skip it. Find another place to take MGMT3000. You will thank me if you follow this counsel.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! Was the worst class ever! All papers are one through peercaptiv. I got a .2 out of 10 on one of my papers because one out of three classmate said i didn't give good feed back. He says you can meet with him so next time you can give better feed back and get a better grade but i didn't get this back tell after everything was due.
Such a waste of time do yourself a favor and skip this version of the class. The online experience was the worst wish I could have gotten something more from this class.
I wish I could have enjoyed the class, I was told to avoid this particular mgmt experience and I should have listened. So much unnecessary work and the work load is a mountain of work. Avoid this class format and take it from someone else or in person.
I want to cry
great guy, horrible class
I wish I could dispute the previous comments about the class and the format. The class format if awful and there is a poor disguise of engagement from professor. I wanted my experience to be different and ultimately it is something I cannot recommend. Please avoid the headache.
Awful experience and really did not enjoy the class.
Jared's a nice guy, but I ended this class on a very bad note. Canvas hadn't been auto-grading our quizzes inside the textbook all year, so I figured I didn't need to do them. Then the last week of the semester he emailed me on how to fix my grade, and it dropped from an A to a C+. I worked tirelessly all week to get it back up, but it was not fun.
I'm not one to usually leave reviews, but this was the WORST class I have ever taken at UVU. The way the course is set up is incredibly confusing and inefficient. Nothing is actually graded by the professor; it is all peer reviews, and almost every message I received from the professor was automated and looked like ChatGPT wrote it. DONT TAKE THIS!
Professor Chapman is awesome and makes class so interesting! I really like how he goes the extra mile and gives you individual feedback for your assignments. He is perfect for teaching this MBA course--Managing Individuals & Groups. His PhD in Psychology enables him to bring really fascinating insights into class discussions.
This class is basically run by Peerceptiv and AI. The professor doesn't teach, just sends generic (and often wrong) email check-ins. When I asked for help, he was dismissive. Honestly not sure why we're paying him when AI and automated emails are doing everything.
