Professor is quite knowledgeable in his field. Applies sociology to everday life. Dry sense of humor helps to lighten the course a bit.

Though the lectures may be tougher than raw hide the jokes and interaction with the professor are what makes the class easier to swallow.

took his course online and he was great! very attentive and responsive to the class although he did work us more than i expected! i highly recommend him!

I would recommend this professor to everyone! He understands the subject so well that he can help you with any question. He requires a lot of work, but you leave the class with an extensive amount of knowledge about the subject.

He actually made me want to attend class. I found that his lectures were interesting, and if you pay attention, you will pass.

I took this 8 wk class on-line. He does require a fair amount of work but it was really interesting. Extra credit is available. EXCELLENT communication. I would recommend this class and would take another class with this professor.

took in 5-wk session, very laid back, all tests multiple choice, 4 papers - short, one FUN project, and 5 postings - he gets back to you asap regarding questions and grades - I wish I could take more of his classes - he is way cool! i learned a LOT, course is very interesting, he keeps u posted of what is going on, very accommodating. :)

I just finished one of Prof Cootz's 8-week DL class. He's an awesome teacher. You always know exactly what the assignments are, how to do them, and when they're due. It was a short class but it was super easy--just make sure you complete the assignments on time (and don't worry, you have plenty of time to get everything done!).

Dr. Cootz made sociology the most interesting subject to learn. He's passionate about what he teaches and never has a dull class. I you study your notes you will get an A. He is very willing to help. Anyone that takes his class is lucky.

Took online 6 week class. He is easy to get a hold of. Checks in multiple times during the day. Do the assignments and you will do fine. I recommend him and would take him again.

I had him for two diff classes, Psych of Personality, and Psych of Adjustment, and he is by far my favorite teacher I have ever had!! his stuff is so easy and he's so helpful! He was my first online course, and at first I was hesitant to do online, but he made it AWESOME! TAKE THIS TEACHER WHENEVER YOU CAN!!!

I just took his online psyc of personality class. It was actually a fairly easy class, I got an A. He is very helpful and replys back to emails very quickly. It was alot of reading, but as long as you read you will make a good grade.

Took this as an online 3 week minimester. Great professor. Understanding. Helpful. Prompt response to emails. I recommend. There is a fair amount of reading but that comes with any online class.

Great guy. Was not clear on directions, so his assignments were kind of hit or miss. Tests were fairly easy, just read over your notes and get familiar with the terms before. He doesn't like to answer questions, so just make sure you do your homework and stay up to date. Fun class.

Took this class online three week winter mini semester; great organized professor who was good at communication (sent daily emails to remind of upcoming assignments and quick to respond to questions.) Would take him again if he taught another class I needed. Would recommend to any dedicated student who did not mind doing the work for the grade.

This was my first online class, as well as my first class using the ANGEL system. I was worried, but the professor was so clear about expectations and assignments. He as very quick to respond to emails. This class requires you to be a little bit creative. Lots of reading, but not hard content. Just time consuming.

I took this class online as a fast track class. I loved the material he used, the books were actually interesting. Professor Cootz is very clear on what is expected of you and deadlines are posted in your syllabus. He sends daily emails including reminders and just "have a good day" emails. He is also very accessible through email. TAKE HIS CLASS !

Highly recommend this instructor. Its not for slackers but its clear and near easy. I wouldn't try it without the textbook, but its a nice book choice; inexpensive and simple to follow.

I took a 3 week minimester online. It was alot of work, but if you do the work it is a simple A. There was 4 papers over articles he provided that I found very interesting. 5 discussions and 4 tests if I recall. And one movie project. It is alot to get done in three weeks but an A is def possible. He emails everyday which is helpful.

Fairly easy class. 4 Tests during the semester and a written paper was expected to be turned in each time. His tests were a group effort which can either help or hurt you, depending on how lazy your group is. His lectures consisted of reading off a power point and showing a video (usually reruns of Seinfield or something related to sociology.)

He is an amazing professor. He is funny and keeps the lectures interesting. He likes to have class participation in the discussions and actually wants you to think. He cares that you are learning the subject. My only con is that he won't be teaching all my other classes :). Great teacher!!

ZOMBIES is his theme!! I took this class online for an 8 week course. Professor Cootz loves what he does. At first it might seem hard, but trust me once you get the hang of it it becomes easier. He gives great feedback and extra credit. He give you two attempts on his exams! TAKE HIM... HE IS GREAT!

His classes are interesting and he is always there to answer your questions. He is very easy and his work is very easy. He is not a tough grader and he brought snacks for his class(sometimes). For every work you do make sure to take pictures because the assignment will require you to add evidence that you were there.

Prof. Cootz is a great guy. He was clear with his assignments, and was very chill in class. The tests were taken in groups, which was nice. Also, the class required a lot of work from time to time, but it was very easy and he did not grade tough at all. So just turn in all the assignments & most likely you'll pass with an A. I enjoyed his class!

Cootz is amazing, taking his summer I, class required time. He has a clear grading criteria. Loved the class, I would recommend him, even though there is a firm timeline, and a lot of it to be done, I was able to manage his class and another class for Summer I. Books are super cheap too!

Professor Cootz is really cool and I did enjoy the class. However, every test was a group effort. Normally a lot of students would be happy about that, but a lot of people did not study. The professor was great and funny, but the tests is a huge negative.

I took Cootz for Sociology 1301. It was a fear and horror class. He is the most amazing professor! I absolutely loved his class. It was fun and very interesting. His text are group test and very easy if you keep up with the notes and lectures. 1 group presentation but it wasn't stressful at all. I would recommend him to all students!

Glad to have a professor this creative. Our theme was Heroes, Villains and Sociology! Took him for a wintermester, meaning it was a hard 4 weeks of online class, but very doable if you keep with the deadlines. Quizzes were 5 questions, majority true or false. Discussion posts and Reaction papers on top of quizzes are due every week. Don't be lazy.

I would not recommend taking this professor unless you are into hero's and villains. I did not like this class because of the way that he teaches it. You have to read a villains book and a batman comic book to be able to do the homework and short reaction paper. Unless this is your thing, I do not advise this professor.

I took this class as a minimester online. It was hard to balance the class with my job (30-45 hr/wk) but, the workload is still manageable and an easy A as long as you do the work. 1 unit is 4-5 days, and in each unit I had to read 8 chapters, part of a comic, 5 short stories, then write a 1 pg paper, take 5 quizzes, and short answer questions.

Took a 3 week mini over the summer. Great teacher, easy A if you do the work. Gives a lot of creative freedom with everything graded. a lot of work (because it's a mini), but if you keep up- it's easy.

Very easy A, I took it over the summer for a mini-mester. But if you plan on doing the summer mini-mester, I would say do not take it, the content goes too fast and you will not learn much from it. Otherwise I would take him, he does give good feedback and also two types of extra credit. He is an easier grader, and he does make you read.

Mr. Cootz was a very good instructor. He would always grade your information in a timely manner. He was very fair in his grading. I highly recommend him.

Excellent Professor! I highly recommend taking his course. I took this class online in a mini-mester. A lot of reading, very quick moving, but well worth it. He makes contact with the students 2x/day, which is awesome! Grades lightening fast and is very fair. This class was such a joy. Take his class, you will not regret it!

Took his online summer mini-mester. No tests, 4 discussions, 4 essays (follow directions, and answer all questions), 16 quizzes based on sci-fi stories, and a picture project. 1 extra credit movie project, and 1 extra credit quiz. I am a high school student, and I found this class fun and interesting. A good class and professor.

Professor Cootz was awesome! You should probably be familiar with online course work before taking this. 4 papers, 4 discussions, 16 5-question quizzes, picture presentation and extra credit. Professor checks in twice a day and responds quickly to emails. Wants students to do well, which is the most important to me. Definitely recommend Cootz!

I took professor Cootz 8 week online class. The books that you have to buy are cheap so thats a plus. There is quite a bit of reading but the assignments are super easy. There are 4 discussion posts, 4 papers and a final assignment that is a presentation of your choice. He's also very easy to contact and stays in touch with students via email.

Just completed a 3-week mini with Professor Cootz and, phew, I think my brain is fried! Obviously very fast paced. There were 4 unit paper and discussions, 1 project, and 3 books required. No actual textbook, all notes were in PowerPoints in lieu of a textbook. Stays in touch, very encouraging in assignment feedback. Would take again!

I just took Professor Cootz 3 week mini-mester and had a really great experience. There were 4 papers, 4 discussion post, 1 project, and 17 quizzes (quiz 17 was extra credit). The class goes quite fast, but nothing is too difficult! There were 3 books which were all pretty cheap and quite interesting! Highly recommend taking this class!

His class is really easy. A lot of readings (small stories) easy quizzes (17 to be total) 4 discussions, and 4 essays. The only thing about him is, HE DONT HAVE ANY CONSIDERATION AT ALL. Forget to include some of your resources your grade is 0 (zero) 0 out of 200 points To your project. So, yeah!! Thanks for his consideration!

I took the 3-w mini and it was VERY fast with LOTS of reading. The books are actually pretty interesting & it get's easier as you go. 17 quizzes, 4 papers w/a created graphic, 4 discussions and 1 project. My brain is FRIED! BUT Cootz is a great teacher! Very informative in feedback and a lighting fast grader. Would take again! EC available too!

This class is based on COMIC BOOKS. Who makes a sociology class about comic books. Have to read LOTS of short stories just to take the quiz. You won't know which story the quiz is about until you open it. LONG discussion answers (4 questions 5 sentences each respond to 5 people) Comic books are extremely long and hard to read and tons of quizzes.

Content is fun to read and freely available. Good pace.

Great professor, honestly would take him again. Be ready to read short stories :)
