has all assignments opened if you want to work ahead don't like that final is comprehensive over a good and easy professor if you do the work and stay on top of it
I really enjoyed this course. Professor Ross was always accessible for any concerns and responded promptly. His coursework was easy to follow and material provided was clear and easy to understand. I feel it was a great course that was very organized.
This professor is always understanding, and allows you to work in your own time. If any issues were to arrive you should always contact him if needed.
I enjoyed the class with Professor Jared Ross. He is kind and understanding and very knowledgeable with the material. He is an excellent communicator and gives great feedback.
There are a lot of assignments in this course, but they were extremely short and fast. You should do well in this course as long as you do all the assignments on time, and read the book if you don't have a basic, surface level knowledge in technology.
Really great professor would recommend to any wanting to learn about the material without going down with the stress of pacing.
Professor Ross is a genuine, understanding, and caring man. He admits his mistakes and corrects them. He is good about responding to messages in a timely manner, usually with in 24 hours. I enjoyed taking his course and I think you will too!
He is a really good professor, the class is easy as long as you are putting effort into his class, I am sure you would be good. The only issues are that there is so many homework assignments per week and his grading system lags sometimes but once you tell him about it then he'll fix it, but I still recommend others to take him.
Really good, offers ways to receive extra credit, communicates clearly about what is expected, and cares about your success in the class.
Ross was brought in as our professor towards the start of the semester, as the original professor was promoted to department head (or something like that). I think he did a good job of managing the course, and there were not a lot of changes made after he took over. He communicated any important updates with us, and the class went smoothly.
Mr. Ross genuinely cares about his students' outcomes but also expects them to put in the work. He communicates well and when something goes wrong, he quickly fixes it and shares the issue. There is a lot of material to cover in this class and it can be pretty dense. Overall a good class.
Prof. Jared Ross is awesome. He''s always willing to help students understand the concepts. The only reason I got an A- and not an A+ is because I missed out on 3 of the assignments (thinking it was due 1 day when it was really due the previous day). He gives opportunities for extra credit and everything in the course is clear and precise
The professor in question is a professional and understanding. Communication goes a long way. I appreciate his patience.
Mr. Ross had the challenge of taking over a class, built by another instructor, a couple weeks after class had started. There were a couple hiccups along the way but he was quick and fair about finding solutions that gave me to tools to succeed in this class.
He is a good professor that cares about his students and gives some extra credit to help out your grade if you miss a few deadlines. There is a lot of material in this class, but you can work ahead and if you stay on top of assignments you will be fine.
Mr. Ross's BCIS 4350 Management Information Systems class was excellent. Each week had approximately two subjects for students to cover, but some weeks only had one subject. Reading, homework, tasks, and exams was done in McGraw Hill adaptive reading LMS. The most frustrating aspect about this class is the length of time to complete work. Quizlet
This course was easy. Professor did not give good career advice about how to get into IT. Not a deal breaker though. Material was awesome and he uses Test Out for the course. So much material to learn that it will make your @$$ hurt. It is ok because if you're one with the Quizlet, then the Quizlet will be with you. I earned my A+ cert half way.
Here is the deal: you can easily Quizlet the class. However, you get what you put in. Quizlet all the answers and you will not learn anything. I made an A+ in this class but it isn't rocket science. I even earned my A+ halfway through the semester. It is cool that instructor works in Tarleton's IT dept but he is not helpful for career advice.
Professor Ross did a great job building this eight-week course in a very short time. If there were any issues, he was available and willing to assist in any way he could. I highly recommend Professor Ross!
I took this as an 8-week course. I had to buy a code for TestOut which is where all the assignments are posted, and I bought the textbook separately. I felt if you already have knowledge of PCs and the three big OS then the textbook isn't needed. Overall, the course was easy and self paced. I learned a lot about Linux that I didn't know prior.
Thank you for being flexible (:
At the beginning of the semester, neither I nor Professor Ross were aware that this was an 8 week course versus 16 weeks. He took a proactive role in making sure that I and the other students were set up for success in a condensed class with a heavy workload. I highly recommend anyone who needs BCIS-1317 take his class. .
This 8-week version of the course will move fast, so you need to keep up in order to succeed. He is very fast to respond and accommodating if you reach out!
The professor had a good layout for my class. Although there were many assignments due each week, it was an 8-week course, so the pace was manageable. Professor Ross was very effective in giving feedback and answering my questions about our CompTIA homework. He responded in a reasonable amount of time.
You will enjoy this class!
He i s a great and awesome professor and cares about student's progress!
Professor Ross is very knowledgeable and provides each and every detail for each assignment. Being an 8-week course, we need to keep it in mind that it runs in fast pace. But if you focus on keeping track of announcements on each topic and don't wait till last minute for submission, then you are likely to pass with good grades.
he was great at communicating so if you have a problem reach out! great professor
Very clear, easy, and enjoyable class.
I think Professor Ross was great and understanding, even with all the changes, and work with it and made to where we could study at a good pace
He was amazing, even with all the changes
Professor was given an unfair hand, but played it well. Determined to help you succeed in this course,
Professor Ross is a great professor. He is willing to work with you through unforeseen circumstances. I will definitely take him again!
Overall, the class was great. I learned a lot of valuable information from the labs and quizzes that I will need to know. The only issue was the number of assignments. However, most of them took only 5–10 minutes to complete if that. Would recommend!
Though this was an 8-week course and a lot of content to cover, he was very understanding. The content itself is doable and not that difficult, but a lot of time management is required. It was very helpful to have an understanding professor and an advocate.
He was very great and super straight forward with everything.
Course felt rushed, but Prof. Ross is always ready to help a student in need.
Very engaged professor, there was a hiccup where the course was supposed to be 16 weeks but ended up being 8. The professor helped every step of the way even when it seemed chaotic.
This is a good professor, that makes the class easy and understandable. He has worked with the class on missing assignments and is understanding about situations at hand.
Mr. Ross isn't bad at all, the only complaints I can particularly think of are related to the very large amount of coursework involved in the class I took, but completing an entire certification program in 8 weeks IS a lot. He communicates often when problems arise, sends out reminders about homework due dates, and gives lots of extra credit.
Amazing professor! Mr.Ross provided amazing feedback, one of the most understanding professors I had!
This class was super easy, it was condensed into an 8 week course, however, all of the labs were very easy and straight forward. Professor Ross was helpful in communicating any discrepancies throughout the course as well. Overall, just do the labs on time and complete the quizzes and you'll be just fine.
In this class you can get ahead, everything is open from the first day except the final. its all through Mc Graw Hill Connect so its very time consuming. But easy course and being able to get ahead and finish early is the best thing which is what I did. I recommend taking this course.
Great Professor, very understanding of real-world issues that many online students face. Reopened a good portion of past-due assignments for some of us to play catch-up. Very fair late-work policy. Would take again for any online course.
Mr. Ross is a great professor, and he always communicated any changes timely and efficiently. It is very easy to get ahead in this class since everything but the extra credit and final exams are open from the start. I would recommend this class, but I would say do your work ahead of time since Cengage is not reliable when working on assignments.
This class is pretty straightforward, you just have to be on top of your assignments. There is a lot of extra credit provided.
Jared is knowledgeable and fair. He desires to see you succeed but will also let you succumb to your own poor decisions. Show up and put in the effort and you'll do fine.
Online Course but seems to be a good, kind professor. Checked in with students and asked if we had any questions multiple times throughout the course, even though it was self-paced. McGraw Hill themed class so VERY time extensive and busy. Could benefit from a bit more professor involvement rather than JUST assignments on McGraw Hill.
This professor is responsive and fair. I found the course to be exceptionally easy to navigate.
Professor Ross is very clear on expectations. As long as you do the work, and take time to understand the concepts you will have no problem in this class. He is very easy to reach out to if you have any questions, and is very motivating. I highly recommend.
This professor has lots of units; try to be ahead of the actual due date. The class is work at your own pace. The units are long, but that is a part of the class. Overall the class is NOT difficult, just time-consuming... VERY TIME-CONSUMING. This is a class you need to stay on top of and not push towards the end of your classes.
He was a very good professor and I enjoyed the class.
This is a great class. A little bit assignment heavy, but everything is posted on day one. Super easy to get ahead in. Professor was very easy to get a hold of and was very understanding. He gave extra credit and all assignments were very clear. Plenty of time to reach deadlines. This was the class that caused me the least stress this semester.
A very good professor with a great attitude. The class was very informative and would definitely take again. I liked how everything was open so I could do as much as I wanted to get ahead in the class.
I would definitely take another course from professor Ross. I really enjoyed how he allowed us to work ahead. The only thing I would of preferred he did was to check in with us a little more often than he did. Other than that I learned a lot from his course and he is an excellent instructor. I would take more classes from him.
Good Professor
Good professor.
Good professor..
work at your own pace make sure you meet deadlines. work ahead if you are able. no late work is accepted
This professor was pretty good. He answers quickly and gets straight to the point. He does give extra credit so that's a plus. I feel like I would have made an A in his class but with work it slipped my mind some assignments were due and yeah.
He is a good professor
This professor proved that they cared for the students by actively seeking out discussion and input from the students in posted announcement. As well as consistently posting announcement to ensure the students understood how things were to progress and answering students questions and posting the answers when they were pertinent to other students.
Professor Ross is very organized and communicates expectations clearly, which makes the class easy to follow. His assignments are practical and connect well to real business scenarios. He gives helpful feedback and genuinely wants students to succeed. Overall, a solid professor who creates a positive learning environment.
I took his class online. He made everything very straight forward and easy to follow.
Professor Ross is an amazing professor and always asks if you need help with anything. As long as you focus and make sure you meet the assignment deadline, you will be okay. Ask for help if you need it. He answers back fast. Great class!!
I took BCIS 4350 online, it was one of my best online classes. Professor Ross clearly outlined class expectations in the syllabus and assignments were through McGraw Hill so the instructions were clear. Professor Ross also reached out to the class several times in case we were having trouble with assignments. Great professor that I would recommend!
He was a very each to deal with teacher. He layed out the assignments ahead of time and gave us plenty ot time to ask questions and get the work done before the due date.
I took the this course online BCIS 4350 with Jared Ross. The best thing about this class is that you can get ahead since everything is open, which is what I did and worked on many assignments during holidays and free time. This is helpful when you are taking other courses and working full time. I would take another course with him.
Mr. Ross continually went out of his way to check up on us to make sure nobody was falling behind. He had a very clear syllabus and calendar and stuck to both.
Great online class. The weekly structure (adaptive learning, fun ABA assignments, case study, quiz) can be a heavy workload but it helped me retain the info. Quizzes are fair with 3 attempts. One exam (final) + extra credit offered. Entire course opened on day one so you can work ahead. Clear instructions & a supportive, understanding professor.
The professor had clear guidelines and instructions, and had the entire course structured and planned out! The professor offered extra credit and checked in to see how everyone was doing! Overall, a great course and a great professor; would definitely recommend this class!
All around great professor!
There were lots of assignments but they help you in the long run. Professor is really nice and very informative. Get extra credit that helps wit your grade. I would recommend to take for an easy A as long as you do the work.
Was a very easy class and gave a second chance for every assignment.
I took this class in the fall. Mr. Ross is very organized and caring. He opens all work at the beginning of the semester so you are able to get ahead in the class. The one downside is he uses McGraw Hill and the ALA assignments are very time consuming, take an hour on average + 3-4 other assignments weekly. Other than that, highly recommend.
To new students, I strongly recommend this professor.
Lots of work, so be ready to plan out your assignments, especially if you are a busy working mom.
Jared Ross is a good professor who is always open to feedback/questions/help with technical issues. I would certainly take again.
good teacher
Really great professor, assignments were easy to follow and submit. A lot of assignments but not hard at all just put in time and effort. Would take him again!
Aba's are time extensive, but does help with learning the material
class is easy to fall behind.
There are alot of assignments.
Very quick with responses and always let's you k ow expectations.
Punctual with replies and very clear on expectations
Jared allows students to work at their own pace, while also giving clear deadlines. He checks in on the class to make sure everything is going okay and is open for questions. Overall, a great professor!
He is a great teacher and the assignments he post are easy to do if you follow the instructions and do the work carefully.
Professor Ross was great! I wish I could have taken this class in person, but that isn't Professor Ross's fault. He's very understanding as long as you communicate and get your work done. Just don't procrastinate, and you will be fine in this class!
This was a great course! If you do the work you'll get a good grade. The workbook assignments will take time. The professor is always willing to help with anything you need.
Mr. Jared Ross was an amazing professor. He is easy to work with as long as you work with him. He made the material understandable, and I was able to go at a speed I needed so I could understand what I needed to learn.
Professor Ross was very understanding throughout the semester. He consistently communicated with our class, whether it was assignment reminders or helpful tips to keep us on track. He even extended our last module to ensure we had enough time to finish, which was greatly appreciated.
Great Professor, he is very kind and cares about you. Lots of work but very easy to get it done!
Overall this professor was a joy to deal with. The class wasn't super hard, you really just need to do the homework and you'll be fine. I'm not a huge fan of mcgraw hill connect assignments, but it did force me to learn. I recommend this professor and this class.
Great professor, enjoyed taking the course
course material is not difficult however the course load is very heavy be prepared to take at least 3 hours out of your week for homework.
My professor was amazing and I had a great time taking this class. I learned a lot of valuable infomration that will help me once i find a job with my degree.
Lots of work but as long as you keep up weekly you'll be fine. Knowledgeable work, very interesting and useful for our degrees.
Professor Ross is fair and communicates very well, he sends out announcements asking if anyone needs help and responds in a timely manner.
I stronger recommend this professor to future students.
Good professor gave us a lot of extra time to finish our work and is pretty understanding
He's fairly easy and didn't take long to respond to emails.
Professor Ross is very organized & his homework schedule is consistent. I appreciated knowing the assignements were always due on Wednesdays & could plan accordingly. I took his course online & it was easy to follow his requirements. The workload is a little heavy, but he also gave extra credit to help out his students. Ross is very understanding.
He's pretty chill, just do your work, and you'll pass! He responds fast too if you need help!
Overall, BCIS 4350 with Professor Ross was relaxed and self paced (with due dates of course). He encouraged finishing the class early, if you're up for that, and the material through mcgraw hill was self explanatory.
Some assignments can take a lot of time to complete, so ensure you give yourself enough time to do those. Professor Ross is very understanding and responsive if you're having any difficulties. He also gives extra credit. This isn't a difficult class; just complete your assignments and you'll do well.
Be ready to do a lot of homework. Class looks intense but its not Prof. Ross is very accessible and replies quickly to messages. I would take his class again in a heartbeat.
Truly a great professor! Well organized and understanding, even let us make up work before the course ended.
Good class. Easy. Good luck.
His class was one of the best I've taken. He kept everything well organized, clear, and easy to follow, while still making it fun and engaging every day. I thought that learning the material was simple and really enjoyed taking this class!
The professor explains MIS concepts clearly through posted materials and guidance. The structure of the McGraw-Hill Connect assignments supports the lessons well, and the professor provides helpful clarification when students have questions about the Connect modules or quizzes.10/10
Professor Ross is easily one of the best instructors at Tarleton State University. His classes offer extra credit, helpful feedback, and flexibility when students need support. If you put in the work, you will succeed. Truly an outstanding professor who makes online and in-person learning meaningful.

Great professor, no surprises and keeps things simple. Highly recommend this professor.
Not the hardest class ever, but be prepared to read a lot.
Honestly, this is a solid class. There is homework every week but it's not difficult, everything is easily explained and broken down, all the information is very accessible. Professor has everything well-structured and organized so that there is zero confusion and always appreciate a professor who communicates well!
I took this course online and it was async. All coursework open at the beginning. There is a lot of homework but it is reasonable as long as you don't let it pile up.
Being able to pace yourself is essential. Time management is important because the assignments can be due on the same day, but there are too many of them to complete on that day so you must be able to complete them over the period of the week and sit yourself down to do so
Time management is crucial some assignments will fall on the same due date, but you cannot complete them all on that date so it's important to be able to pace yourself throughout the period of the week.
This is an assignment-heavy class, but he offers extra credit, and if you do the work, you will pass!
Course was easy enough for self guidance and I felt the instruction was available and willing to answer any questions. Lots of extra credit opportunities!
Very straightforward and easy going.
Course uses cengage and everything is designated as for a grade of not so you can really focus.
Professor Ross communicated very well throughout the semester
