I would highly recommend. He gives study guides before each quiz and makes the labs easier than they are. If you take him you will get an A unless you miss labs, and don't do the study guides but the quizes are almost easy enough to do without them

Kozal is a great teacher! Wish I had him for lecture too. He gives a quiz every week, but takes time to make study guides (study those and there's no reason you shouldnt get an A)! Practical and Final exam aren't as scary as they make it sound, but make sure you study EVERYTHING! take him if you have the opportunity!

If you have the chance to take Professor Kozal for Anatomy and Physiology make sure you take him for lecture and lab. One of the most helpful professors that I have met. He makes study guides for his exams and his quizes in lab. He also goes over every part of lab with you. As long as you do the study guides and study you will have no problem.

He teaches the class as if everyone has no prior knowledge of this subject.

Very helpfull, fun, easy going... If you pay attention during lecture you will do fine on exams.

Tests can be a little tricky, but the study guides are there for your benefit so use them. He expects you to read the book, even though no one does. He is super metrosexual, which is amusing at times. Overall he is a very interesting teacher. I've talked to him outside of class and he is a really great guy. Knows a lot about medicine and science.

He's a good professor and a nice guy. Just print the powerpoint, and review it before the tests, and you're home free. He also gives good study guides too.

Makes class easy, sometimes the lectures get hard to stay awake, but the tests are fairly easy if you put a little bit of time into studying and the very little homework he gives is simple...he follows the textbook perfectly.

This was is easy to excel in as long as you do the readings and minimal homework given. He uses PowerPoint for his lecutes which are helpful. You have a quiz on Blackboard before every exam. Great professor!! Gives you all the tools you need to succeed, but you have to apply yourself. If you have never had anatomy before, keeping up is the hardest part. There is a lot of information quickly and it does not always work to cram the night before. If you get the chance take his class, he will try to help you any way he can!!

This class has a ton of material, but he gave tons of study tips and was willing to answer any question. He also understood that people were nervous about the cadavers at first and prepared us well for it. Tests are fair, but you cannot put off studying! Go to the tutor lab at least once a week. He is one of the best professors I have ever had.

he is the best anatomy professor in the department. take him for both lab and lecture. in our lab, the kids who didn't have kozal for their lecture were doing terrible and were really frustrated because they weren't learning. he's hilarious and he tells your the weirdest ways to remember things- but they work.

Very difficult class, I got a D+ and have to retake it but I have nothing bad to say about Professor Kozal. He is a great guy, very nice and approachable. I can't blame him because Anatomy lab has department tests so I wouldn't have done any better with anyone else. He teaches the material in a way where it is hard for you to forget.

Gave a 10 point pop quiz the Friday before Spring Break. That being said, I would go to all his lectures even though they are hard to focus on. It is just a lot of material in 50 minutes. But it is very possible! Besides having mandatory lectures, if you read the notes, you'll be fine. Its like every anatomy course.

The class is HARD but Jarek is a really great Professor and he is really there for students to help them out. He is really down to earth. Really study the material and don's miss class. My only complaint is that he reads straight from the power points so it can get boring but dont zone out because he may mention something worth writing down.

Professor Kozal is one of my favorite professors I've ever had at Grand Valley. This was a brutal class but if you start studying 2 weeks before exams you'll do fine! He gives super helpful tips on how to study and I highly recommend going to his office hours. They are helpful.

Kozal is an average professor. He reads from the powerpoint slides but makes it very clear on what is going to be on the tests. Hands out random in class assignments. Do not buy the book, you are given the online book for free. Lectures are boring but in the end I would recommend going because sometimes he drops hints for test questions.

This professor was one of my favorite professors at GV. His lectures are straight from his powerpoints, so going to lecture isn't mandatory every day but he gives unannounced in class assignments through the semester. He is very clear and thorough with the material and covers it at a nice pace but studying is necessary to succeed in this class.

Prof. Kozal is my favorite professor at GV. His anatomy lectures can be long and dry, but his notes are set up so you know exactly what you need to know for the test. Because he's in charge of the BMS250 labs, he knows exactly what we're learning in lab, and tells us what we need to know for the practicals and he organizes his lectures accordingly.

If you have to take BMS 250, try to get into Prof Kozal's class. He is one of the best profs I've ever had. He is very clear on expectations and even gives great study tips during lecture. Lectures can get boring sometimes but attendance is crucial. Together, exams are worth 50% of the class grade and lab is worth 40% so try to keep up.

LOVE THIS GUY. If you study the learning objectives you should be GOOD. Take good notes on his prepared PP's and keep up on your studying, it will pile up quickly. Exams are multiple choice and around 60 questions. Typically not many diagrams or pictures. The final was 60-70 Q's over last chapters and around 45 Q's cumulative. Study hard for that.

If you are going to take BMS 250 or 251, take it with Kozal. Amazing professor, very good at explaining, great lectures. INCREDIBLY passionate and it shows. Loves chatting about interesting questions after class. I found his exams easy and got all As, but I studied hard. Does in class activities so go to class, the lecture is important anyways

Definitely 10/10 recommend Kozal!! He gives a few in class assignments rarely announced but they go along with the lecture notes. His lectures are clear, well organized and he is very clear about what is expected!! Lecture notes in full but it is SO worth going to class! His analogies and helpful hints will help you out!!

Professor Kozal is hands down the very best BMS 250/251 instructor. He goes over everything you need to know and makes sure his students understand the process of things. Go to class, it may not be mandatory but it is WORTH IT! I got an A in the course, I had to work for it but he made this class something I looked forward to every day!

Jarek Kozal is my favorite professor! He is so caring and goes out of his way to explain things in a way everyone can understand. I passed BMS 250 with ease because of how wonderful he is! Best BMS 250 Prof you can have! Kozal is very knowledgable and knows how to teach well! he always gives his students tricks and tips for all your quizzes! You can tell he really wants his class to do well! This class has APR quizzes (basically your homework before the lab) which isn't bad at all! and the quizzes are straight forward.

Prof. Kozal is a great choice for a lab instructor for A&P. When youre learning about lots of things at once (axial and appendicular skeleton, etc.), he almost always has a story or mnemonic to help you remember. Youll have weekly quizzes and two lab practicals over the entire semester, so dont forget to study what you did in your previous lab.

Kozal was a great professor for 250 lab. He makes sure everyone is prepared for the material and quizzes. Lectures could get a bit boring, but they are helpful. Lab is worth 40% of your entire grade, so make sure you take it seriously. Hoping to have him in the future.

Strongly recommend Professor Kozal. He explains materials in an easy way to understand and re-explains things that are not understood. He also provides his own lecture videos that go over the most important information for each lab. If you study the material, go to class and review you will do fine in his lab course.

Our online lab met once a week to go over material and do a quick lab, but most of your learning is done through watching his pre-lab videos. There are weekly assignments and quizzes so it is important to stay on top of material, but it is not too bad. Definitely recommend this professor.

I had him for BMS 251 lab, not 250. Dr. Kozal sounds very strict over email, I was a little scared at first, but he is one of the best professors I've ever had. He gives you learning objectives for each quiz, and if you know those, you'll do great. He's super available to answer questions in person/over email and gives great explanations.

Prof Kozal saved my anatomy grade this year! I took him for lab and it helped me understand the lecture material tremendously. He points out where students have gone wrong in the past, as to avoid students making the same mistakes. The nature of the class is hard, but his explanations are easy to understand. Prof Kozal overall is a really good professor. Hes very good at teaching tough topics, and is usually very clear as to what he wants. The only downside is that he can be a tough grader, he wants very specific answers! However, he gives great feedback as to how you can improve. As long as you attend class and put in work, you can get an A.

Kozal is an amazing lab professor. If you want to be successful in lab, I would advise forming study groups with people. Every week there's a quiz which isn't too difficult AS LONG as you study. The anatomy tutor lab will be your best friend. This course is A LOT of memorization of bones, muscles, cranial nerves, etc. 10/10 would do again

Professer Kozal is AMAZING. I highly recommend taking him for lab. The class is pretty challenging but he makes it a lot easier. He gives great feedback and teaches the content in a way that its very easy to understand. He grades very quickly which is awesome! Great prof, very dedicated to his students understanding the material. I had him for lab and I would go to his office hours every week and it helped a lot. 251 is a hard class but he makes it very clear and his grading criteria is tough but also clear. Jarek is so amazing!!! He is so helpful in labs and gives amazing ways to remember things. Each lab was very in depth and the time flew by since he was so helpful. He even made us a weekly schedule for when you should be studying what to ensure you are not behind. This is a hard course, so I highly recommend Jarek for this!

Professor Kozal is one of the best professors I've had! BMS251 is a difficult class, but he allows you to review what you missed on quizzes and will walk through any of the questions and takes photos of quiz question models so you can see them again! He definitely cares about students succeeding in class, it's not hard to pass if you do the work!
