Mrs Phipps is a really good teacher. She uses slide show for her notes, which you copy then study for the quick and easy quizes she gives like twice a week. She has reviews on the internet for test and quizes. She is willing to work after school w/you. Take this teacher for history and humor.

Phipps is a great teacher! She teaches in dept, knows what she's talking about, & is easy to understand. Her tests & quizzes are souly from her lectures. She doesn't take role, doesn't give you homework, & you don't even need to buy the book. She uses powerpoint, so basicly you just have to copy down her notes, study them, & youre good to go.

Ms. Phipps is an excellent teacher. There is no reading required at all in the class so there is no need to buy the book. Her notes are all on Powerpoint and easy to copy, plus her lectures follow the notes very strictly. Best part is she never takes attendances, I recommend Ms. Phipps to anyone!

Mrs. Phipps is a great teacher. if you like history you will love her class. do not buy the book because she will not use it. you will learn and have fun. she makes the class very interesting and powerpoint keeps you awake. her test are al right they are rather easy but you have to write an essay for the test. Ms. Phipps is a great teacher. She keeps class interesting even at 8:30 a.m. Just be prepared to read a lot. You get homework almost every night but if you miss a problem or two, you have group study time in class the next morning to go over the problems. Not a bad class to take. You'll learn a lot.

This instructor was funny, sometime hard to understand, but for the most part she was ok, always study the quizzes will help your grade at the end and go to class, She's cool.

Class is not hard. Note taking from presentations in class. (MEANING YOU NEED TO GO TO CLASS). She's a good teacher and tries to make history come alive. I got a B in her class over the summer and didn't have to be a nerd. Tests were in essay format so invest in blue books. they are not hard I prefer multiple choice though. Take her she's good.

EASY! She assigns hw on blackboard but only 15 assignments all semster. Only a midterm and final. You know all the Q/A that are going to be on the tests before you take it. She picks 20 out of the 35. You can make an A without much effort.

This class was so easy! Her way of teaching makes you feel like you were back in grade school. However, there is only a mid term and final. She will give you the questions in advanced. Enjoy.

She's great. I absolutely loved this class. The tests are entirely from the lecture notes, so you HAVE to go to class. And the quizzes online are all from the book, so you need that as well. But she's really easy to understand and makes the material come alive. I'd reccommend her to anyone.

I hated history before I took this class and was dreading having to take it, but now I actually find it kind of interesting. She tells history like a story and all of her test come from lecture like exactly word for word... I was so easy and interesting! I made an A+ in this class.

Overall, a good teacher. I did get an A in the class but I attended it everyday. The notes is easy to follow and the quizzes are easy as well. At times, she would get off topic or say something so fast that no one could understand. But in general, I would take her again.

SHE REQUIRES MORE WORK THAN ANY OTHER TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE COLLEGE CARREER. The fact that attendance is mandatory bc EVERYTHING comes from lectures doesnt even bother anybody, only the fact that her tests are each 5 essays and every week there is a writing assignment and 2 fairly hard homeworks. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!!

Good teacher. sometimes goes off on tangents. go to class b/c she has portfolio assignments that affect your grade. watch many documentaries. encourages class discussion. tests are essay, but mostly right out of notes and book. a few short papers. online homework. A few field work exercises. not hard to pass if you go to class and do the work.

I thought she was a great teacher. She is a bit odd the first day she moved all the chairs around in the room and she talks very fast. You pretty much have to go to class, and do all of the online homework's. Her test questions come straight from the study guide she gives you but there are about 15 short answer questions and there are only 2 test.

I took this class online. Mrs. Phipps is extremely helpful and very clear in her expectations. She occasionally allows makeup work to improve your grade if needed. Great teacher in my opinion. The class is relatively easy. And you use the book A LOT!!!

She is really nice and always in a good mood, but honestly I wouldn't recommend the class unless you enjoy busy work. There are way too many pointless assignments. If you miss one class you are screwed. Tests are all essay. It's not hard to get an A, but there is just a lot of work involved.

Mrs. Phipps is an enthusiastic history professor. She is helpful and patient, but her course requires diligent study and work. Each exam includes 5 essays; homework and writing assignments must be completed for each unit. Her lectures are interesting, and she has a wonderful sense of humor. I enjoyed her class overall!

Very good teacher, everything is clear and learned a few things for her this semester. Just takes not and be in class when there are portfolio assignments. Doesn't take attendance but going to class is helpful.

Ms Phipps is such a sweetheart and I loved her class! I made an A but that is because I came to class overprepared for tests and asked a lot of questions. I am not good at history, and came away with an A. She is a very caring and accomodating teacher. I would take her again and also recommend her to everyone!

Ms. Phipps really knows her stuff. Her lectures keep you awake and the notes every day are crucial. Her tests are essay form, but her study session and independent work days really help. Homework is simple as well (all on blackboard).

I took AMH1041 online with her, she is awesome. The class is very easy as long as you do the homework assignments you should get an A. She gives you plenty of time to do assignments. For the test there are a total of 4; 2 at home and 2 at the testing center. Would recommended her for any of the courses she teaches. The book is needed!

Took this class online and feel like I did learn quite a bit. There is a lot of writing involved though, and she is not the easiest grader, but I still got an A. If you do all the assignments you should be fine. You will definitely need the book though!

Take this class if you need humanities credits because it is an EASY A if you GO TO CLASS!!! She is funny, talks fast, gives days off, addicted to blackboard (which helps a lot), and is clear on what is expected! TAKE THIS CLASS!

Mrs. Phipps is a great teacher. I took this class because I had to, but I will admit, I learned a lot about other cultures. She is pretty fair with her grades. Just make sure you do all the homework, fieldwork and discussion boards (online class). Would def. take her again!

Use textbooks only @ home for HW. Short essay tests. HW grade which helps, because you can do multiple times. Writing assignments, not difficult. Opened up assignments at end so we could better our grade. Willing to help, Wonderful teacher. Go to everyclass for notes...that will be for the essay tests!

Attendance is not mandatory but you better go. she doesn't do essay tests anymore, she gives a list of 12 topics then she picks 5 to test you on but its more complicated than that... Its hard if your'e not used to it. probably not the best class if your'e not a good note taker either. literally 7 pgs front to back in one class...on an easy day.

Took web class... great teacher! Very helpful & responsive if you have questions. HWs can be attempted as many times as you want & a few journals that are easy if you do the research. Tests are all essay, but an outline is provided that is included in the test which helps a lot! Keeps up to date with grades so you always know what you have.

SUPER easy if you just DO THE WORK! Took the class online - had an OLD version of the textbook - but she outlines exactly what you have to know so you can look up stuff online too. Answers her e-mails quick. Great teacher!

She is a good prof, but a little scatter-brained at times. The class is not hard at all, but there are quite a few projects. They are short & easy, but can get annoying. Didn't learn as much as I hoped to, but it was still interesting. Too much time spent on marriage & family and not enough on other parts of the cultures.

Great teacher! Took this class online, you have about two HW (10 questions each) and a discussion board or journal to do once a week. She gives you everything you need to know for all three tests and final.

Great Summer web based course.She spells it all out, gives you Essay outlines for tests and plenty of advance notice for all assignments given. The whole course is based on the assigned textbook-so get one! You get to post on a DB and write journals in addition to HW and tests. Prof. Phipps is super quick to respond to emails etc. Take her class!!

Great teacher - I took her online course - very fast at getting grades posted - and when it comes to help, you almost feel like she is sitting at the computer 24/7 just waiting to see if you need her - loved everything about the class and teacher!!

She was very confusing to me. Her slides are so unorganized and she elaborates WAY too much on topics so you get off track of what you are supposed to learn. She is not my style of teacher, but a lot of people in my class liked her. Then again a lot of people in my class were just as confused as I was... It could either be really good or really bad

This was my first online class ever and I must say.. as long as you remember to check online and remind yourself of those due dates and such.. there's no reason why you wouldn't pass with an A too. She's very efficient at replying to every email and always willing to help. TAKE HER! <3

Assignments are very clear, you have to be motivated to keep up with your weekly assignments, though she sends a weekly announcement on where the class is at. She's very nice, and cares about you passing. I enjoyed her class, would definitely take her again.

All of her tests are essay. You have to work very hard to get an A. On 2 of the 4 tests you have to study 11 topics and she chooses the 5 ou write on. The other 2 tests you get to pick the 5 topics. Most test material is straight out of her lectures. You must attend class, which stinks because she doesn't make it interesting at all.

I liked this professor. She's very clear and easy. She cares about her students and is very knowledgeable. Also, she's fairly lenient on tardiness, which was good for me because I had a long drive in the morning to get there. I recommend her.

The lectures are sometimes boring, but she makes them easy to understand. The tests are all essays for which all the material that you will need are in the notes. The homework is easy and if you need help with grades she will help you. Take her, you'll more than likely pass.

The teacher is extremely clear about what is expected of you. Has 3 easy homework assignments each unit, a very short essay and a test. As long as you take good notes and attend class you will earn a good grade, very fair teacher. I attended every class and studied about 2 hrs before every test earned a 95. Homework and Discussion boards are a main component of the class. Multiple chances at the Homework. Journals are pretty tough, a lot of typing and reading if you want a good grade. Tests consists of writing, however two are with a proctor and two are without. She's not a harsh grader, so if you try she can tell and you will receive good credit.

I took her in the spring of 2015. I've always really liked Mrs. Phipps. However, she covers a lot of material so be prepared to take lots of notes. Her tests are all essay tests, which derive directly from the lectures. To pass you have to attend class and pay attention. She gives you a study guide, so your success is in your control!

Tests are straight forward but don't expect to pass if you're a no show. She doesn't flip over attendance but there is a lot of graded in-class work and much of her tests are based on her lectures. She's one of the more chill teachers. If you show up and do the work, theres no reason you shouldn't get an A.

She is a great professor I personally really enjoyed her, the lectures are a little rough but she makes it very clear what you will be tested on. All her tests are written response so make sure you go to class and take good notes. A few writing assignments, but they are extremely easy. I highly recommend her for this course.

Professor Phipps is a helpful professor and I highly recommend taking her if you are interested in the subject being taught. She enjoys the subject but some of the material is dry and some of the videos she showed were bland. I do suggest taking her but DO NOT MISS CLASS AS IT IS A HUGE PART OF YOUR FINAL GRADE.

Ms. Phipps was the best online professor I've had at TCC. She is extremely fair, clear with her instructions, expectations and grading policy. All of the exams are essays, and all quizzes are from the text. 2 exams at testing center - 2 exams at home. If you stay on top of all your weekly work, you should get an easy "A". She's great!

This class was actually very inspiring, we got to work with two different groups of people outside of the class. She gave us 4 small books to read over the semester and we had 3 discussions due on each book. She gives one test for each book and final is very easy. If you're willing to do work then you will get an A no problem. She was awesome

I'm an Anthropology Major, so this may be a little skewed, but i really enjoyed this class. she teaches well and its a fairly easy class to pass with not a lot of effort

Down to earth and communicates well with students. Fair grading and attendance policy. You must apply yourself to do well, not an "easy A". Attendance is important to succeed.

3 Unit tests, homework and book were online (about 1 hour of homework per week), and there is a class participation grade every day that you don't want to miss out on! Each unit had an out of class project. Study guide is available at the beginning of each unit- super helpful!

I took P. Phipps online course and loved it. Two InQuizitive quizzes and a DB per week. 3 exams and 3 journal entries. The only way you can fail this is to literally not do anything. I opened by book a couple times but definitely could've Googled and gotten the same info. Personal choice, really! Awesome class for any online starters, I recommend.

Took the class online, she is a great teacher. Her exams are essays on the chapters, but she gives you an outline on how she wants it. Homework is on inquisitive which tests you on reading, you should really read the chapters, for it makes the hw and journals/discussion boards easy. Workload is very light, she is very nice and not hard on grading.

I took AMH2010 online there are a lot of assignments mainly a bunch of writings she grades hard on the take home exams but otherwise its not too bad. You dont need the text book you can find what you need online. There are 2 Home test and 2 exams you have to take at testing center this class is passable if you willing to do lots of research

Professor Phipps is a great online instructor. She kept the class engaged with discussion board assignments, many extra resources for those interested in learning more about anthropology, and graded things quickly. This class is not difficult at all and is interesting, just don't skip homework assignments and you're guaranteed at least a B.

She always responds to emails quickly if you don't understand what was given. 3 tests the whole semester, 1st was online, the midterm and final were both OPEN NOTE. minimal work. HIGHLY recommend! If you forget to turn in something she does full credit makeups for everything!

The semester starts out pretty easy but progressing through the semester the DBs get more lengthy. She offered a good amount of makeup DBs this semester. The assignments matter.

Professor Phipps is a really good teacher as far as she wants you to pass the class and will respond back to you very quickly with emails. She has a LOT of discussion boards. At the end of the class she basically opens a make-up DB for each other DB and reopened the work that was due at the beginning of the semester. Easy online class.

All the tests are essays. She goes over the essay topics in class and let's you know that they're going to be used. She's very nice and was a good professor for me to take. You have online quizzes a lot for the text book chapters. Almost every Tuesday and Thursday.

I wish all professors were like her! She is wonderful. Kept students updated with assignment due dates and grading. Always on top of things. Easy to contact outside of class. Gave her feedback and insight on most assignments. Kept students engaged and really cared about us passing.

I have taken her for another class and this. Both online. One of the best teachers I have ever had. Both classes I took required the textbook, and her set up for online classes seems to be consistent. Quizzes are easy, I use the textbook when I take them and Quizlet. Gives study Guides. If you are having a problem reach out to her, v understanding!

Best history class ever! Writing assignments are short (350-500 words), Work load is very reasonable, tests are essays but are open note, quizzes only go over one chapter at a time, redo/make up is always offered. Professor is excellent! Very helpful with reminders of things due and assignments are clear. Will reply to emails quickly.

First semester implementing Zoom classes. Prof Phipps adapted well to Zoom classes and I had no trouble following along with the material despite the difficulties I faced adapting to Zoom classes. I bet she is even better in-person!

Professor Phipps is one of my favorite at TCC. She's always willing to work with students needs, and provides all assignments up front. I always take advantage of getting some assignments done early so I can give myself a break. Class participation in Discussion Boards are mandatory and a huge chunk of your grade. Do the work and you'll be fine.

Phipps' class is very nice! She understands students really well. My only annoyance with this class was the amount of homework that was assigned. Sometimes we would have 7 assignments per week, which imo, is a lot for the subject material we were covering. Tbh, as long as you act like you're interested in the subject matter she grades easy.

Hands down one of the best teachers I have had in college!! Definitely, would take this class again. She had a medium workload some weeks more than others. She usually has about one weekly DB and or a journal. She was really understanding and caring towards my situation this semester. Really easy grader. NO honor lock. Does 3 research papers.

She's great! Lots of writing, but the prompts are fun and creative. Focuses more on writing and comprehension of the topics rather than memorizing history facts. The multiple choice tests are basically for practice and to boost grade, the important grades come from the writing assignments. Overall, pretty easy and enjoyable.

Mrs. Phipps was a good professor. Her class was easy if you stayed on top of your assignments. If you don't have a heavy course load you should be fine. She gave A TON of writing assignments, however. I think her class was where I've had to legitimately write the most. I'd recommend taking this class online, and maybe pick her if you enjoy writing

The workload in this class is heavy, with weekly discussion boards, journals, and a major essay. But the professor is helpful and responsive. Using resources like unstuckstudy alongside the textbook can make this manageable.

I took AMH2020 Professor Phipps online, had a weekly 10 question quiz, discussion that required 300 words minimum and the research paper which she divides into 3 parts. Is super understanding. I would recommend this class to anyone and would gladly take another class of hers. Even allows for resubmissions after she gives feedback on assignments.

I took anthropology with her and enjoyed it, she's super nice and wants the best for her students. I think she does a really good job teaching the class, I learned a lot.
