This class is very simple. The textbook is really the only thing you need to pass this class. All her tests and quizzes are done on Vista out of class in your own time. She does not allow laptops to take notes on her PowerPoints nor does she put her PowerPoints on vista. Honestly, you could pass the class without her teaching.
She is an awesome teacher. She doesnt really take attendance. All her exams and quizzes are online. I highly recommend you TAKE her
The class was fairly easy, just go to class and take notes. The tests were all online, except for our final, but it was only over two chapters. The textbook is a must in order to study for the online tests! I would recommend it for a general political science class :)
Terrible teacher if you even want to call her that. Shows up to class late almost everyday. Reads straight from the power point doesn't add much to the lecture. She is not helpful at all, never responds to students email. She takes things personal and brings her personal issues to class feels immature. Worst teacher I've had yet.
Not a very hard class at all. Rarely took attendance, but stressed that on the days she did you would need to be there. All tests are online, so using your notes and books made them simple. She does not give cumulative finals, which was nice. The class can be boring because she just reads from the Power Point, but take notes and you'll be just fine
Teaches straight from her powerpoints, and tests are extremely detailed from book--you need to carefully read every paragraph. Literally. Also, a very core-city Atlanta attitude in the classroom, be aware.
Tests are incredibly detailed over book material, and teaches strictly off her powerpoints, with some discussion. Refused to reply to questions in emails.
This Prof. is horrible!! She is no help at all and her tests are so detailed you better study every senescence in the book. She rarely takes attendance, but she gives pop quizzes and if you miss you cant make it up. Even if you are dying. Honestly you could never go to class and make the same grade because she doesn't teach. Save your GPA!
If you have trouble with political science DO NOT take this teacher. Not only is she rude and sarcastic, her tests are next to impossible even with studying and if you miss class she won't try to help you. One of the most un-helpful professors I've ever encountered.
She is by far the worst professor I have had at KSU. DO NOT TAKE HER! Not only is she ruse to students, but she is also very unhelpful. No schedule on syllabus, and forgets to tell the class when quizzes and tests are. Not many grades, so the ones you have weigh heavily on your final grade. Way too hard for a general ed...JUST DONT DO IT!
Horrible does not begin to describe this "professor." Late every day to class. Does not respect others opinions. Test material is not covered in class. No point in taking notes. Does not make her own test. Try to memorize as much of the text and maps as you can. Gave open book test in groups and highest gade was an 87! Absolutely horrible!
I've never met such a rude, disrespectful teacher in my life. Class is mandatory, their is no course schedule on the syllabus, her grading scale is confusing. You can study day and night for this class and will never get the grade you want! You could be dying on the floor outside of class and I doubt she would care. Dont take her!
Do not listen to students that are bashing this professor. Those that do not like her and are failing are the ones that didn't try hard enough. She gave extra credit, a take home quiz, and outlined chapters for us. Students are upset she did not spoon feed them a good grade. And she was late maybe twice. Get over it. Overall a good COLLEGE teacher!
Honestly this teacher is great! You can pass this class, just read and take notes. She teaches from her powerpoints mostly. She also gives extra credit and works with you. Dont listen to the bad comments because those people probably didnt come to class and failed.
Tests are hard, but multiple choice and it all comes from the textbook. She does not retest over information (ie the final was only over the last 2 chapters covered) She is very nice, approach her before you miss class, with a legit excuse, & she will help you with whatever you missed. Attendance is mandatory. I would definitely take her again!
As someone who went to class everyday and studied ALL THE TIME for this class, I still found the tests unnecessarily challenging. With that being said, I am not good at POLS. Avoid taking this class if you are bad at this subject. She will NOT email you back, ever. Also, completely unapproachable and very rude a lot of the time.
Worst teacher I have ever had! Went to every class and still learned more from reading the book than from her. She needlessly punishes students in multiple ways for not coming to class, like not posting her powerpoints or a schedule and ALSO takes attendance. Reads straight from the powerpoint. If she's having a bad day, takes it out on students.
No day-to-day syllabus, so no idea what you are doing that day. She expects you to have chapters read before class, but you have to ask her what to read. Tests and quizzes are straight from book. So read! GO TO CLASS! She'll hand out assignments and if you're not there, it will hurt your grade. Final is just two chapters. Do-able class, I got an A.
Very unorganized, doesn't have a set syllabus, doesn't know how to talk or reply email
I loved Dr. Younge!! She is an independent woman, and knows exactly what she is talking about because of her experiences. There WAS a syllabus with dates- people are obviously not prepared for a real college course. I got an A. As long as you are responsible and act mature, she will work with you.
Awful professor. She doesn't remember what she tells which class, and it affected our class's grades a lot this semester. No syllabus of dates, no structure. Don't buy the ksu book that's more expensive, she doesn't use the constitution part. She finds everything "interesting" but doesn't explain why. Do not take her!!!
Very rude professor, She lectures using powerpoints which seem straightforward but only about 15% of that material will be on the test. She doesn't give out study guides for tests to help you study, if you're not good at absorbing absolutely everything from the text book then i recommend not taking the course.
Dr. Younge was a good professor to take because her attendance counts almost as much as her tests do. Don't miss class and your grade should be fine. I reccommend not getting on her bad side if you want to pass the class because she knows when people are cheating or not attending class but having their buddies sign them in.
Dr. Youngue obviously has a passion for Political Science. She knows the subject well but I feel like we do not cover as much as we could. Definitely read your textbook, it helps elaborate on what she doesn't go over. She can be funny at times and friendly but overall she can be very condescending. Every 3 days you miss your grade goes down.
Knows a lot aboutPOLS..BUT wont post notes(can't bring laptops/recorder),is very hard to get in touch with via email, does not give many grades, can be VERY RUDE when asked questions, does not seem to care about the students success in course and is not willing to make ANY exceptions positive note: Tests are easy if you study/go to class.
She is very passionate and knows the material. She is very good at making the material intresting and easy to understand. As long as you show up to class (which is 20% of your grade) and take notes then the course is fairly easy.
I love Dr. Younge's class! She makes the topics very relateable and interesting. You NEED to have the book for this class to do well on the all multiple choice tests. You do study groups in class. & Attendance is MANDATORY because it counts for 20% of your grade. If you go to class and read the book you'll do fine. AND THERE'S EXTRA CREDIT!
The class was not terrible. All exams are based off of the assigned chapters in the book, not really off of the notes in class. To me, it seemed like she isn't extremely educated in the subject, when asked questions she doesn't go in depth or just avoids the question all together. Not a terrible class but definitely need to pay attention to pass.
She is not a good teacher, excessive note taking is all you do in class. and half the notes you take are not on the test. She is rude, and has a smart attitude. you need the book to pass because her notes do not help.
Dr. Younge's class will leave you with a bittersweet feeling. At times, you will feel like you're wasting your time, but sometimes the lessons are great. PURCHASE AND READ THE BOOK YOU WILL DEFINITELY NEED IT!!!!!
If I could re-do my semester, I would honestly not take Dr. Younge again. I did not mind her class, even though the long powerpoints were difficult to take notes from. What bothered me was her lack of consideration of the students in her class. You never knew what kind of mood she was going to be in for class. I do not recommend.
I would not advise taking Dr. Younge's class. I typically have no trouble retaining material from lectures, but her lectures are absolutely AWFUL. They are unorganized, confusing, repetitive, and she never gives good examples. She also has a very unnecessary rude and sarcastic attitude, especially towards students who dare to ask a question.
Dr. Younge was a great professor! She made a boring subject pretty interesting. It's obvious that she knows a lot and I enjoyed her teaching. You HAVE to study for her tests if you want to do well, but she gives you everything you need to get an A in her class.
She's really interesting. She gives examples and tries to give as much detail as possible. Attendance isn't mandatory but is advised to go. Go to class and you will do way better. All tests are multiple choice and we have about 3 group assignments that are all in class.
She is awesome I passed with a 107. Literally the easiest class. Speak up make it fun, go to class and use the book and notes to study the assigned chapters. Dont be lazy and you will pass this class!
Test are hard if you don't study but are almost always graded on a curve. all lecture and note taking it was a fun course and she is hilarious. Get a seat in the front she allows you to miss 2 or 3 days but no more without getting grade deduction. Group assignments are important so dont miss those days and get the book!
I got over a 100 in this class but this was litteraly the biggest disappointment of a professor she's a "Dr" and makes it very clear that she is above her students. She messed up grading a test and lied to the class about it almost giving everybody failing grades. If you're in her class read the book and study for tests if not take someone else!!!
Ms. Younge is the most stern professor that I have taken to this very day. Her class wasn't difficult, but it's not easy at all. She gives lectures and your best bet is to take notes even though the notes alone won't help you on the tests. YOU HAVE TO BUY & READ THE BOOK. Attendance definitely matters; gives extra credit. Also, she's kinda moody.
Although some days Dr. Younge's class was miserable because of notes, she is a decent teacher. Reading your textbooks is essential for exams.
Dr. Younge made the class really interesting in my opinion. Show up to class and study for her tests and you'll do fine. You'll need the book. I would take her class again.
I was nervous taking S&L Gov because I failed her American Gov class freshman year. The keyword in the previous sentence is I. As a Junior, Poli Sci Major I knew I had to pass this class so I bought the textbook, and went to class. She is the fairest at grading. If you do the work, you get the grade. She's an amazing teacher, I highly recommend her
Don't skip class
Professor Younge was very fair. What you made on the tests and assignments is what your grade was. Attendance is super mandatory you get points for just being there. All in all great professor, I would take her again.
Skip two classes, drop a letter grade. The material itself is simple. The lectures are simple. The grading is simple. But she is a headache in itself. Not her teaching, her personality. If you can avoid her, do. I dread being in class. You know the people that have to be "condescending" to feel funny or purposeful? Bingo.
She was just okay. It's your basic gov. class. Don't skip, your grade will suffer. Tests were easy if you read the chapters and went over notes from class. The book is mandatory. Not one of those professors you wake up and rush to class for, other than the fact that you have to. That's about it.
Professor Younge Is very straight forward in what she expects from you as a student. The test are not difficult but you need to read the book and make note of the terms that are highlighted throughout the book because those will be tested . She usually lectures with powerpoint so you take notes from that. She makes the class enjoyable & relatable.
She's is okay. Not the best peach on the tree, but she'll do. Attendance is mandatory and she's super serious about it. Lecture is just a bunch of power points and definitions from the book. Exams are easy, just content heavy. Beware of her "online" assignment, it's a group project that she graded harshly.
Annoying, all she wants to do is talk about Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, she talks all class about stuff that will never be on the test. Her tests are hard and you get 4 which makes your whole grade & some bs project worth 200 points. Don't take her she has an attitude most days and makes you want to smack the hair off her head
No papers which is awesome, but your grade is made up of mostly exams. And a GROUP project, yes ... we all pay tuition to work with buddies and hope they do their part right? Lecture is PowerPoint heavy & we talked a ton about the election but of course that's because it was occurring as the class went on. If you have no choice, take her.
Professor Younge really helped me to understand the interworkings of politics enough to help me form my own opinion and ideas politically. It's important to come to class because she will drop you by a letter grade if you miss more than 2. Also make sure to study the book closely for tests since most grades in the class are only based off of tests.
Lectures are irrelevant to the test content, its all from the book (and sometimes not even from the book). She grades attendance harshly, but misses class more than you're allowed to. Randomly bumps people up a letter using a "pick a number" lottery. We met all criteria on the group project and got an 80, would never tell us why. Avoid her.
Dr. Younge was okay.. not the best not the worst. The class is very lecture heavy and attendance is mandatory. Definitely have to read the chapters. She does make the lectures kinda interesting and usually lets out early. There are 4 tests and a group project.
Dr. Younge has a very spunky attitude. Her classes are all lectures, she gives good notes, but gets easily off topic. Her tests got progressively harder throughout the semester. 4 tests and a group project. Not bad but you definitely have to study
I loved her! I've always been so bored by history, but she made class interesting and easy to understand- really funny too. Only four chapter tests the whole semester- 2 regular chapter tests & 2 count as midterm/final. Other than that you do one online assignment and one group project which were both easy. Attendance and reading are a must though!
I love her! She's nice, she makes american government not as dreadful as it has always been, and she's a good professor. The tests are not that hard. You usually just need to look over the key terms in the chapters and the notes she gave in class. Her lectures are somewhat heavy, but it's not anything dreadful at all! She keeps class interesting!
I took her 8 am and it could have been worse. She will give you attitude on a bad day but she's funny and I enjoyed that that early in the morning. Her powerpoints are straight from the textbook. She only lets you miss class once before she drops you a letter grade. Tests are easy if you read the textbook and take notes. I recommend.
Professor Younge is an okay professor. There's 4 test and you have to read the book to pass the tests. You can only have 1 unexcused absence or else your final grade is dropped a letter grade. All you do in class is take notes. It's a great class if you know a lot about government, but if you don't then you definitely have to study a lot.
Professor Younge is by far the best professor that I've had. She lectures a lot but makes it very interesting and light, so you won't be too bored. Attendance is mandatory and she won't take any excuses for much of anything, but I thought that was a good thing. Her tests aren't hard if you read the assigned chapters and review notes.
The class is based off of attendance, four test grades, and two in class assignments. Her lectures and notes given will get you a C at best on her tests. You must read/outline chapters if you want a higher grade. Very strict attendance policy. Wouldn't recommend.
I'm a freshman but I really liked Younge. I wouldn't recommend her for everyone. Here's what I did to get an A. Read chapters before class. Take notes and pay attention. Make a quizlet on the key terms and multiple choice questions in the book. MASTER IT. Then highlight important info in the book day before the test. She seems nice though.
likes to get mad at students for not writing down notes and doesn't like students to look at her while she teachers. Fear of public speaking isn't the best job for a teacher.
grade is from 4 tests, 5 in class assignments, and attendance Test are from the book not the lectures
Dr. Younge is passionate about what she teaches, and knows her stuff. However, she is so incredibly condescending to the students and makes it miserable to be in the class. Nice enough lady, but wow I wouldnt recommend her to anyone.
She is a very irritating woman. You will bond with all sorts of different people through the mutual disdain of her. Her class is easy enough but you got a listen through a whole lot of her poorly formed ideas. Quote of the year "All women are brainwashed so they don't want powerful jobs." Don't bother taking notes, they are irrelevant to tests.
DO NOT take this professor. I missed 2 classes of the semester and she dropped my entire final grade from a B to a C. Also, her lectures have nothing to do with the test because it is all based off of the text book.
i had an awful experience in this class. the way to make friends is talking to everyone around you about how rude mrs young is. definitely do not recommend. does not care if her students pass or fail. tests extremely hard and straight from the parts of the book you're not asked to read. tells you not to write down certain things and then on test.
Very rude and likes to embarrass students. could care less if you pass or fail. will not go out of her way what so ever to help you pass
I just would not recommend this rude professor to anybody
Really dislike professor younge and her stupid attendance policy do not take her under any circumstances
just dont take it
This is a professor that you should only take if its your last option.
Mrs. Younge has the worst attendance policy i have ever seen. She takes 10 points off if you miss 2 classes. don't take it
Jasmine Younge is not for everyone. Her personality can come off rude, but I find it funny. Her attendance policy is strict, but it isn't a problem if you just SHOW UP TO CLASS. The tests basically cover what she lectures in class.
she is very rude and likes to pick on a few students. I laid low and avoided contact with her to not be outed. Her lectures have nothing to do with the test, its all in the textbook. Her test are okay if you read. You dont need to come to class but if you miss 2 classes you get a whole letter grade dropped which is ridiculous
she was an alright professor. her attendance policy was nice if you came everyday, but if you missed two days she dropped a letter grade. tests are hard and some questions are like trivia questions that are irrelevant to the course. her lectures are long and boring, but also useless because everything in the book is on the test
She was an okay professor. Kind of rude, and her lectures weren't very helpful for the tests. To pass the tests you'll want to study the textbook as much as possible. She also occasionally gave out extra credit. If you miss class more than twice, your grade will suffer.
Professor Younge knows her material well and gives real world examples to help relate the information. Unfortunately, her test questions come mostly from the textbook which you must read thoroughly. Her attendance policy is a bit ridiculous and her attitude can come off rude. She wasn't the worst professor and I did learn a lot.
idk how anyone enjoyed her class. i made friends by bonding with everyone i sat around by talking about how rude she was. her attendance policy could make or break you. only excused for funerals of immediate family members.
She has a sassy way of saying things so if you cant deal with sass you cant deal with her but personally I found it funny. She doesn't play around and gets straight to the point which is something I really liked about her. I thought the tests were super easy only 50< questions and all directly from the book. She is not trying to trip you up.
just do not
Every class is a lecture, but there were a handful of in-class activities. The tests are pretty hard, and the final test is very hard even though she says it is like the other tests (study a lot for it). She's funny and sarcastic. The first 20 minutes of the class are spent discussing current events. She does make the content interesting though.
her lectures are very long. if you miss class she will not excuse it. she doesn't respond to emails at all. her test are 50 questions, the final is really hard. she's also VERY sarcastic and it comes off as her being rude sometimes
She only gave us five tests and a few easy A assignments throughout the semester. Attendance is mandatory. Her final was way harder than her other tests. She lectured everyday. She liked to discuss current events, but I was never sure if I was getting the true picture of what happened.
I loved Prof Younge. She is funny, sarcastic, and she knows her stuff! The tests became easy after I actually started studying how she told us to in order to pass. Does different review games the week before a test, which is extra credit . The final was hard. Had a few in class assignments and one assignment outside of class. READ the BOOK!
Super easy, no homework, common sense multiple choice tests. BUT if you care at all about learning politics from a smart, informed and unbiased perspective do not take her. She claims to have grown up in a split dem/rep household, but clearly inserts bias in her lectures which continually evolve into preaches about her opinions on sensitive topics.
She does not care about you at all. Sign your ass in first thing when you walk in. Lectures pointless but attendance is STRICTLY MANDATORY (literally only emergencies). Avoid if possible. Test straight from chapters and her notes don't cover it all, so just take textbook notes during class. Bad at replying to emails, rude, and not rational.
I would recommend not taking her for political science.. plenty of other teachers.. do yourself a favor... please. i took this class so you wont have to. DONT DO IT.
Shes super rude and doesnt care about you. Very irrational and full of herself. She has an obvious power complex and only allows two absences all semester. She just rants all class. Shes choppy and rude and claims to be super knowledgeable but frequently quotes fake news and pop culture info that isnt grounded in facts. Come to be indoctrinated
She is very strict and gives you an attitude even when you are genuinely asking for help. Hardly ever answers your questions and tells you to check her syllabus or email her. You must read the textbook to pass her tests because her notes are vague. Attendance is mandatory, you can only miss two days on the third day your grade drops 10%.
she is not helpful at all, not sympathetic even when theres an emergency. definitely would not recommend taking her class.
Useless lectures, is very rude and TRIES TO BE! Just read the book well to ace each exam in 20 minutes lol. 3rd absence, 10% drop :(.
I thought she was a decent professor. Her attendance is strict and if you miss more than two days your grade drops 10%. (Try to make every class for max points at end of semester). She offers extra credit more often than not for assignments and tests. Read and outline chapters yourself and attend class and you will do well.
I thought professor Younge was good overall. She has a witty personality that is not compatible with everyone. She is very passionate in her subject she lets you know what you need to do in order to do well. Offers extra credit. Be prepared to read textbook and outline outside of class or else you wont do well.
I was intimidated by this professor when reading the reviews, but let me tell you, easiest A of your life. Attendance is MANDATORY unless you have a legitimate emergency. Dont ask questions that are already stated in the syllabus. Dont be on your phone when shes talking. READ the textbook before exams. Thats it. Funniest professor ever.
4 exams 4 easy in class assignments took final online very liberal teacher but she made the class funny for me and it wasnt very difficult make sure you go to class everyday because its 20% of your grade.
Lectures are unbearably boring and she is very strict, but not in the good way. Does not care about her students feelings enough and has no empathy for students unless they're literally in the hospital.
Theres no hw in her class, and she sometimes gives extra credit, yet these are really the only 2 good things. She is rude, and VERY strict with attendance. She gets upset with kids when they ask for extra help, and says that the textbook and lecture notes are all you need for the class. I ended up doing well in this class, but it was a struggle.
This class is so hard for no reason. People who do good in this class are pols majors I promise. She is also sooo rude. Don't ask her questions unless you want to be embarrassed in front of everyone, and don't skip class either. You drop a whole letter grade after 2....
Professor Younge's class was horrible. I was afraid to ask questions in class because she would embarrass students if they didn't know the answer/asked questions. Your grade is most made up of tests and the tests are extremely difficult. Attendance is 20% of your grade and she has no empathy at all for her students. Worst professor I've ever had.
This teacher is the only teacher that uses lockdown browser. Along with the fact the no one has made over an 80 on the mid term. And she uses harsh/weird wording on all her tests to make you fail.
Not a lot of assignments. I studied the lectures and textbook but test grade didn't reflect that. Doesn't answer questions and is rude. Class shouldn't be mandatory because lectures do not help just read the textbook if you are in her class or try and get another professor. My classmates and I tried asking for help but never received any.
Don't take her dude. The tests are going to make your life suck.
I took this class online and it was very challenging. Professor Younge provides bulleted outlines in her power points that contain no details about events or key terms we are discussing. You take 4 tests (which are all very difficult) and have 3 assignments throughout the semester. I would not recommend this professor if you don't like hist/govt.
by far the worst professor ive ever had. attendance is mandatory, if you miss class, u can drop by a letter. powerpoint slides of notes are never posted and she even encourages students not to share notes. the tests are unreasonably hard and straight from the textbook, not slides. no late work allowed and did not care abt covid/internet issues.
To start off her lectures are absolutely pointless anything she says is straight off the book so I recommend just reading directly out of the textbook, but attendance is mandatory. Her exams are ridiculously difficult , you have to memorize the chapter to do well. Also when ever you confront her you always calls you disrespectful.
This professor takes out her frustration at life on students and deliberately tries to make it hard, such as refusing to answer questions, not telling students what chapters tests are over, deliberately wording questions to make them unclear/hard. She also called campus police on a student for asking a question she found rude.
She is very rude and has a constant attitude towards her students. In her power-points she just outlines the main points but her tests are over the textbook so make sure you read.
Gets mad at students for simply asking questions. Also her online assignments Are only opened for 3 hours on Friday morning , so if you work I would not recommend taking her class. Failed half the class on the assignment for the first week, not good. This weeks assignment she couldnt even put the settings right on lockdown ,nobody can access it.
Do NOT take this professor. If I could rate her a 0, I would. First of all, her tests are so specific, it is impossible to make an A on the test without memorizing the chapters of the textbook. Second, her quizzes are worded very badly, its hard to make a 100. On top of that, her lecture materials will not be on the exam.
I would not recommend if you want a professor who actually teaches and helps you to understand the lessons. Tests are the only grades in the entire class except for a couple quizzes here and there. She hates when students ask her questions and gives attitude. She cares more about being a comedian telling stories and jokes in class than teaching.
Professor Younge is rude and uncourteous towards her students. The class lectures consist largely of Younge complaining about students and their e-mails to her. The syllabus changes frequently and took our in-person class online. It is not a pleasant class, avoid at all costs. Take anyone else.
Didn't have a good time at all this semester. Doesn't listen students' opinions about the course.
Do not recommend! Very hard class with lots of reading. She does not care about students opinions and gets on to students who ask simple questions. Lectures do not correlate to test, you must read or else you won't pass.
Might be snarky if you ask a question in front of the class, doesn't give any feedback on tests or assignments when questions are missed. However, if the class does too bad, she'll reteach the section.
The tests are very heavy on the chapters and her lectures are just titles of each area you need to review. You have to know every piece of the chapter because she will word it as tricky as possible. Only opens online assignments for 4 hours max ( not available until 11:59 pm) so be sure to wake up and submit assignments immediately. Don't take her.
Jasmine is atrocious, but honestly the class was not too hard as it was very similar to Gov. in high school. Moving on I got an 85 for attendance even though I signed in and participated in every class. When I emailed her about it I never got no response! Lastly, be careful, Jasmine doesnt appreciate people with differing opinions from hers!
Bad at lectures, its all about PowerPoints and whats in the book. She goes off whats its in the book so it doesnt help that much.
She talked about her self for 30 of 50 mins a class for 4 wks until I dropped her. She doesn't respond to emails, her lectures are unclear & unrelated to the subject/assignments. She made us all move closed together like we aren't in a pandemi, she won't let you take pictures or upload the slides. She's condescending, unwilling to answer questions.
Lectures never cover the content at the level of detail of the tests. If attendance wasn't mandatory, I would tell you to skip her lectures and read the textbook, but instead I will say: take notes on the textbook, not her lectures. Will not respond to emails, shames you in class for asking questions, and will blame poor performance on tests on you
She is absolutely horrible. She does not teach at all and makes her tests extremely tricky. She trips you up on purpose. Her test are multiple choice, but it's sometimes 1 out of 6 choices. DO NOT CHOOSE HER
Professor Younge is the worst teacher I have ever encountered. Her lectures are extremely boring. She also does not care if you have an excuse or are sick. She will force you to take the exams. I had the flu with a 100-degree fever and she still made me take it. She will tell you what's on the test and when it's time to take it, it's the opposite.
Beware- She has never answered an email in her life so don't even bother trying. The lectures are not what's on the test, you will find that information in the textbook. She will blame her mistakes on the class and won't own up to her faults.
She cannot use technology very well, expect to be blamed for her mistakes. The tests have a lot of information only found in the textbook, so expect to read a lot in it. Do not take this professor if you have other options.
She is not the worst professor, but definitely not the easiest. As far as the exams go, you will be fine if you just read the textbook because her lectures cover a minimal amount of information compared to what is actually on the exam. Also, she is not great with technology and there were often errors holding back students from doing the work.
Just awful.
She is literally the worst teacher ever, she makes attendance mandatory when being in class won't even hope you pass the quizzes. Quizzes every Friday. In this class, you basically have to teach yourself, because nothing that she teaches is on the quizzes. There is no study guide for any quizzes or the midterm. JUST DONT TAKE A CLASS WITH HER!!!!!!
Lectures don't reflect whats on the quiz, you basically have to read the textbook on your one time. Won't answer emails and can't use technology.
TAKE ANOTHER CLASS IF U CAN! attendance is mandatory, quizzes every Friday and the powerpoint presented in class do not help on the quizzes at all, you still have to go in and read from the textbook. do yourself a favor and pick another professor!
If you can, choose another professor if not good luck. Attendance is 20% of grade and if you miss more than 4 classes it TANKS your grade. Lectures do not reflect what is on the quizzes and exams.
Attendance is mandatory and if you miss classes you will fail. She claims that attendance affects how much extra credit you are eligible for, but its not what it seems, her version of extra credit is asking the class a question and first one to run up and give her a written answer gets like 5 points on a test. Also expresses her political beliefs.
Attendance is mandatory, miss 4 classes and you fail the attendance grade. Quizzes and Test follow criteria YET they are worded very off/ and seemingly straight from her head, almost like she wants confusion. Poor email manners/lacks understanding because she thinks she's right. If you have a choice do not choose this class, if you don't.. lock in!
Not a good teacher.
Do what you can to not have her as your teacher! Prepare for everything to be on you and your fault. Even is you are attentive, get A's, and come to class… she will most likely still not help you. This class is entirely self taught. When she talks it is very minimal information or not on topic.
The class is tough, but if you stay on top of the textbook and use study aids like Unstuck study, you can do well. Attendance is mandatory, so don't skip classes. The professor has a unique teaching style, but engaging with it can pay off. Overall, a challenging but manageable course.
Many of her assignments were only watching a 8-10 min video just, and discussions were opinion based. Take notes of things she says during lecture, not necessarily all that's in her PP. Likewise, get info from textbook especially vocab, from what she reviews in class and you will do fine. SHE REALLY ISNT THAT BAD, DONT BE LAZY, YOU WILL BE OK.
This class was by far the most difficult class I've taken so far. The information being taught isn't that hard, but she doesn't teach it at all and the textbook she gives is poorly written and politically one sided. Didn't learn anything useful since every resource we had was bad. Everything a class should be about, is lacking in her classroom.
There is room NO for leniency, empathy, compassion, or mutual respect in this class. If you want to feel like a bad student and be put down when you need help most? Look no further. Not sure how she is still allowed to teach… the last good review was from early 2020 late 2019… 4 years of bad reviews!
WORST professor I've had during my time in school. Extremely stuck up, and talks down to her students. Whatever she lectures on is NOT in the test. I missed one class the entire semester and she docked me. Her multiple choice test is 6 choices and worded tricky. Take any other professor if you can.
She is very rude and lacks understanding. It takes weeks to receive a response from her. Come to class or you will fail.
