This guy is awesome. He is such a good teacher and I have learned a lot from him, however I have had fun too. He's completely fair to his students and treats them like equals. A very down to earth guy! Very highly suggested professor and class.

Great Professor. Easy tests, takes questions straight from power points. Nice, understanding, and if you disagee with a question on the test he will give you credit if you prove the answer to be right. Would take a class from him again!

This guy was awesome. I was really dreading taking psychology but he definitely understood that most of the people in this class weren't majoring in psychology. He only counts 3 of the 4 test so do well on the first 3 and there is no final. Funny guy.

This was one of the few classes that I looked forward to going to. Dr. Allaire had us laughing constantly, but we still learned a lot, and his tests were extremely fair. Great teacher.

I was dreading psychology, but this professor got me "psyched" to go to class each day. His teaching skills have a light that will never go out!

Dr. Allaire is a funny guy. He talks about his family a lot and compares much of the terms to them and other real-life situations which is really helpful. He doesn't take attendance but he gives "extra credit" for attendance pretty often. The tests weren't too hard; he gives you a study guide which literally tells you every termconcept to know!

Dr. Allaire is so funny. He always tells stories in class, and since he has a young child, he can give relevant examples in class of developmental theories. And the examples are all online and open note, and they're easy to begin with. He also gives tons of extra credit just by showing up to class. Interesting class, Would take again!

Dr. Allaire does not take attendance, but frequently gives extra credit for coming to class. All his notes are on PowerPoints that he gives you on Moodle, so you don't need the textbook. There are only a few tests throughout the semester, and the final is not comprehensive. All the tests are online. He's really funny.

His classes are easy enough to pass, but maybe I've been taking the wrong section. He never seems interested in his lecture content, and frequently cancels class or lets class out half an hour early. If you are actually interested in the material, expect to teach yourself or just get a different teacher.

I loved Dr. Allaire. He is obviously incredibly knowledgeable about the subject which made the class really enjoyable. Attendance is not taken but I never missed a lecture because he's so funny and engaging! Occasionally offers extra credit for attendance on days when nobody shows up. Dr. Allaire is hilarious and his class was great. He didn't take attendance, offered extra credit on every test, made tests available online (and open note from home) and dismissed class 20-30 minutes early every day. This class is an easy A if I've ever seen one, and you learn a lot too!

He always ends class about 30 minutes short. He's hilarious and his class is so easy. All of the tests, quizzes, and notes are uploaded on moodle.

Your grade is made up of 3 tests and an optional final to replace your lowest test score. All notes are posted online and attendance isn't mandatory but he randomly gives extra credit for the people who show up and points out specifically what's going to be on the tests when going over notes in class. Easy A, just show up and pay attention.

Dr. Allaire is fantastic! The course is graded by only 4 tests, with all lecture notes posted online. He doesn't take attendance, but he makes a point to regularly reward those who show up by either giving extra credit or additional notes or info that he doesn't post. It is an easy A, but I also learned so much and enjoyed this class immensely!

I went to this class four times all semester and got a 99 in the class. That should tell you everything you need to know. Everything is on moodle, tests are not complicated, professor is insanely laid back.

If you need a GPA boost, take his class.

Dr. Allaire was funny and wanted his students to do well. He had good lectures and gave no homework or readings. Was open to questions and had an amazing TA. He related to students well. His tests were online and multiple choice. Though his class was easy, you still learn lots of good information.

Only tests on his lectures. Grading is only 4 tests, lowest one dropped. Not hard at all. Easy A which wont suck up your time. I kinda wish he cared more though. Laid back but also disagreeable & sometimes dismissive or unengaged. Lectures are good, lots of applicable examples used and rarely takes the whole class time. Not great w/ emails.

I don't see how this prof could get a bad rating when you literally don't have to show up to class an still get a good grade that being said, if you don' go to class ATLEAST go to the exam reviews. it might not change your grade much but he will straight out tell you what is on the tests - thus you don' have to waste your time looking at other mat

Allaire is a super nice guy and I loved his class. Class isn't mandatory, but you'll learn a lot if you show up. We got out 30-45 min early every class. 3 exams, all multiple choice open note. Open to questions, truly cares for his students. Take this class and get an easy A!

You really can't go wrong with Dr. Allaire- he is as laid back as can be. Jason is the best professor I have had at state so far. His class is easy but interesting and if you just look at the notes he posts, you will pass the class. He gives all his exams online, and the final is optional to boost your grade. He is also hilarious.

Jason is a very sweet individual. He wants you to learn and does not make things harder than it has to be. There are three exams in total that are given online--third exam is optional-- and there is extra credit to people who attend class. The material on the tests are also all on the slides, there is no extra reading that needs to be done.

I loved Jason's class! His lectures were interesting and funny, and he always let us out early. Exams were all open note and straightforward. Even though it was an easier course, I still feel like I learned a lot! Definitely recommend Jason!!

He doesn't take attendance except occasionally if it rains for EC but I still wouldn't miss his lectures for the world. There are only 3 grades in the semester all take-home exams that are open note and easy if you've been to class. PS take notes on what he says about his son Noah and life(EC on exams) and his celebrity crush is Ryan Secrest.

By far one of the best professors at NCSU. Jason is so incredibly kind and he genuinely cares about the success and well being of his students. He is very down to earth and will make sure you do well in his class. I cannot recommend him enough. Attendance is not mandatory but trust me you are not going to want to miss his lectures.

Very easy going and still a college kid at heart. All tests were open note and optional final, also will lecture for only time needed (usually shorter than an hour) and won't cover things that won't be on the exams. Awesome guy

I love this man. Only assignments are 3 tests that is IT- online on moodle and open note. Very easy. He is caring and I learned a lot from this class TAKE HIM! This class was interesting and very easy. Tests are online open note. However, the course was almost so easy I didn't find myself actually learning the material. Attendance is optional but there is a bit of information you might not know for tests if you don't go to class.

Dr. Allaire was so easy it was almost a negative. Got a great grade in the class and he gave out tons of extra credit just for showing up, but I really don't think I learned much at all this semester and I never missed a single lecture. He was engaging and class was fun, but I almost wish there was more learning.

Dr. Allaire is has become one of my favorite professors. He is funny and keeps lectures very engaging. Grade is based off three open note exams that were not very difficult. Best psych prof. He is really funny and a great teacher. The class is extremely easy it's almost impossible to not get an A in psy376. He gives out extra credit and if you think a test question was marked unfairly he will listen to your concerns and probably will give you points back for it. 10/10

Very nice guy! Our exams were in-person and closed notes, but they still weren't too difficult (you did have to study for them though). He gives plenty of extra credit and is very understanding. I just wish he was more organized, but I would definitely still take another class with him.

He never lectures for the full class time. His lectures are very interesting, and he explains everything very well. Pay attention. 100% recommend.

The ratings speak for themselves. I attended most classes even though it wasn't mandatory. Lectures were engaging, and I didn't mind my grade only being determined by the exams.

Dr. Allaire is good guy and gives real-world advice about the present job market for psychology. Lectures and exams are the only 2 things this class consists of. If you come to lecture you will learn the information necessary, plus lectures are pretty enjoyable.

Very nice, explains the material well with relatable examples. Going to class benefits your understanding of the subject and boosts your grade.

Like most people are saying, he was an awesome professor. If you consistently go to class you get surprise extra credit! You literally only have tests though, and while they aren't hard to study for, I really recommend going to class since he gives you the answers and tells you when to write down something since it'll be on the test.

IF YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE HIS CLASS DO IT. Coming from a senior who has had many professors in my college career, Professor Allaire is the BEST professor you will ever have. He is so caring and makes his lectures actually entertaining. His classes are not mandatory but he makes it so that you actually want to attend. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This class can be what you make of it! His lectures are not the best, don't trust the course outline he provides. He's always skipping slides of things you “don't need to know” so don't do your notes ahead of time. There will be random extra credit to attendance. All the tests including the final exam are take on Moodle. Those are the only grades.
