If you want a teacher who wants you to succeed this is your guy. One of the best people I ever met. If you do not do well in his class, it will be your fault, not his because he will go above and beyond to help you in every possible way. Great class, great professor.

Jason is a helpful, caring, supportive, and kind. All quizzes are open notebook, so keep good notes, show up to class on-time, don't miss class and if you have talk with him, study hard, keep up with labs online, and see the student lead for help. Mr. B is by far the best instructor that Valencia has ever had. I highly recommend him. I took him in the spring term and I enjoyed his class. He makes you want to come to class, as well as keeps his lectures interesting!

Hands down the best professor I've had at Valencia! He puts in the time to help you achieve a good grade. His doors are always open if you need help, and he gives extra points on essays. His tests are open note and you usually have a weekly journal entry that's a piece of cake. I definitely recommend taking him! Extra credit opportunities!

Professor B is one of the best teacher I ever have. He is very easy to understand and always available for you at any time.

Professor Balserait is awesome!!!!!!!!! I would recommend his class. He is always willing to help you understand the material. I Truly enjoyed being in his class but would suggest that you do go to class or you might miss the information needed to pass, as well as putting in the work. This professor is absolutely amazing and I am glad I listened to everyone else's reviews. He is a bit of a harsh grader on essays, but he is extremely understanding. I missed a lot of class but when I explained to him my situations (there were a few) he understood and accepted me turning in assignments via email. A compassionate Man indeed.

Professor Balserait is a great teacher. He is super nice, and is there for you whenever you need him. He offers extra credit and is very clear on what he expects from you. Your final will be a paper, and all quizzes are online. There is a substancial amount of group work, so if that's not your thing then beware, but it is really not that bad.

Took his ENC1102 online class and enjoyed and learned more in this class then any of my face 2 face classes. Very organized. Class followed the theme of being an other We read some good stories, a comic, and watched District 9. Great class.

Mr. Balseraits class is a great class. Its easy but you still learn. Not a ton of homework, no tests in class, and as long as you do the work, you'll do great. Very nice, and helpful. You can get the book online for very cheap, you don't use it very often in class but you definitely need it for at home quizzes.

I would definitely recommend taking Prof Balserait. He is very clear in what he expects of you and his class is easy to pass as long as you show up and pay attention.

I loved this professor. One of the best I've had in my first year of college. His class wasn't easy, but he tried to help us any way we could if we had questions. The class was very engaging, we read some great material and he's a tough but fair grader. Overall, I had a great experience. I wish I could've taken him for Comp 1.

My friend told me to take Mr. B, and I did. Loved this class. For an online class, he was very involved and kept me motivated. We also mainly read short stories, a graphic novel, and watched a movie. Excellent feedback. Learned so much. I wish they had a Comp III so I could take it with him.

GREAT TEACHER! I never had trouble with an assignment. He was very helpful and encouraging. He gives tons of extra credit throughout the course. Binder Project was the easiest A. This textbook will change your outlook on the world and daily life forever!

One of the best teachers I've ever had. He is always available and will work with you. Really accommodating. Lectures are more discussion based than actually lectures.

I learned a lot in his class. He is very personable and cares about all of his students. He creates group projects and such making the class go by fast. At the end of the semester, I was sad it was over; since our professor made us all close from all the projects. Take him you won't regret it. You will learn a lot and will enjoy it while doing so!

Mr Balserait is great. The class has plenty of work to do, but you won't find a nicer teacher to deal with. His online class is extremely organized and easy to navigate. He gives good feedback on everything and grades super quick. Do all the work on time and you should get an A.

Mr. B is an awesome professor. Like any class have to show up and do the work, but he will work with you if an emergency occurs. He gives some extra credit, but the work is not hard. I will be taking the next class he teaches.

Professor Balserait is simultaneously easy going and organized, a balance many professors struggle to achieve. He thoroughly explains in-class material and clearly makes an effort to create a comfortable environment for his students. Homework is moderate, but straightforward. He is awesome! You don't need a text book but a book you will be reading through out the course, it is inexpensive. He gives extra credit and is extremely helpful. Professor Balserait was a great English Professor, the best I've had in a long time! There are weekly discussion boards along with short quizzes that you are allowed to use notes for and he has a very clear grading criteria. As long as you include everything he ask for then you will get an A! Details are SUPER important! Highly recommend his class!

Professor B is a great professor for English. Work load is moderate but his expectations and instructions for assignments are clear. Took him as part of LinC class with Humanities and the professors worked together to make assignments count for credit in both classes. His lectures are helpful and he is easy to communicate with outside of class.

Be prepared to write! Class is not easy but assignments are clear as is the criteria for grading. Modules are only open a week at a time but class schedule lets you know what's coming and helps prepare for larger assignments. Professor is very responsive and provides great feedback. He wants students to understand assignments in order to succeed.

Mr B real cool and Im not a writer at all but when I took his class I pass with an A. He also seen I actually cared about my grade so I think he really tried to give me an A. But you have 4 papers to write 1 is a mid term and 1 is finally exam. He give stories to me and quiz on every week as homework but its super easy. He allow 4 absents. :)

Prof. Balserait is a pretty tough grader. Especially for your essays ad research paper. The assignments were a few discussions, 3 essays, 1 research paper, a final exam response paragraph, and short story quizzes.

Mr. Balserait is very clear in what he expects from you. Most weeks consists of three assignment, but some have only two. The two-day due date on that one assignment every week is definitely not appreciated but understandable nevertheless. He doesn't want you to leave everything for the weekend. There is a lot of writing. He is not a tough grader.

Professor Balserait is really caring! He is very clear in the things he wants . Organized syllabus . If you need help hell be there for you. He assigns great stories to analyze . I would take him again!

Mr.B is awesome he does not grade hard at all, he's actually really understand but let you know exactly what you need to fix! We did about 4 paper total, 3 of them were analysis essay's on stories we read and 1 was a research paper that was very broad and you could choose whatever you wanted to write about. He also has little assignments.

He is really nice but does give you the grade you deserve so don't be lazy. Open book quizzes, discussions, and tests. Easy to cheat with SparkNotes. The hardest part was the analytical essays but still got a high B on them.

Honestly, one of the best professor I have ever taken, he is fast answering emails and is always willing to help you. There is a lot of writing material but it its easy. If I could I would definitely take him again.

I loved this Prof. I'm taking him again for ENC 1102 because he was that great. He cared a lot about our wellbeing and ingrained in our brains that he would be there for us. he responds to emails super quickly and is always there to answer any questions you might have. There are three papers but he gives you a lot of time to write them.

Amazing professor!! I wish I would have taken him for Freshman Comp 1. He makes it very clear what is needed and gives great feedback on how to improve. He is always quick to respond if you need help and understanding if you are having computer difficulties or issues. Even gave ways to get some easy extra credit.

Professor Balserait really is the best English teacher I have ever had. I have never gotten above an 84 on a paper and this semester I had 95s and above. He really tries his best to help us look deeper at literature and draw conclusions based on OUR thoughts and opinions and not his. The discussions help a lot, so definitely participate if you can.

1st college class and he made it amazing. Took him mixed mode for 1101/1102 and loved it. Very clear on whats due each week(usually 1 journal, discussion, quiz but they're short and simple). 2 shorter papers, 1 final paper. Really line by line good feedback on papers. try to participate in the in-class discussions they're lowstakes and can be fun!

GREAT INSTRUCTOR, - LOTS OF ESSAYS/PAPERS TO DO, INCLUDING ROUGH DRAFTS, OUTLINES, AND FINAL PAPERS. - ASSIGNMENTS CAN BE A BIT CONFUSING WITH HOW THEY'RE LABELLED BUT IF YOU MAKE IT TO CLASS EVERY TIME, YOU'LL KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. - SPENDS CLASS TIME GOING OVER EXAMPLE ESSAYS AND BREAKS DOWN WHAT YOU SEE IN CANVAS.

I am so sad it has come to an end because he is so fun and has a great personality. The lectures are super interesting. He connected his modules brilliantly. In doing so, he really prepares you for all future assignments and he gives the greatest feedback that helps you do better each time while encouraging you on your strong points.

This professor was great to have. You'll be assigned a few essays, but they are spread out widely over the course. the main things you will do every week is a story, a quiz related to the story, and a discussion on the story. He also responds to emails/inbox's you send.

All of the work he assigns you is weekly does not feel like a chore or busy work. Everything he has you read/view is for a purpose and you do feel like you actually learn something. He gives you clear instructions and feedback on almost every assignment, allowing you to learn from your mistakes. Had him for two sems, ultimately a great professor!

spring2024: CARES for his students & very understanding when life gets in the way. Provides all courses material, no txtbk. 4 moderate sized papers that extremely easy. EASY final, weekly assignment but again easy with effort. Excellent feedback on papers that youll write better for future college courses. Wish there were more professors like him

Professor Balserait was honestly amazing. I took him for 1101/1102 and I'm really glad I did. He is super straightforward, and the assignments are easy. He assigned a short story, quiz, and discussion post every week. I work full time and I was able to knock them out in one day. He always gives detailed feedback on all your assignments. He's great!

ENC1102 isn't an easy course due to the amount of work. I'd highly recommend Professor Balsereit to anyone. He is passionate and loves his job. He is very interactive and cares about the students well being. I took him in ENC 1101 in person and i'd recommend going in person if you can! It's an easy class if you keep up with reading on time.

Lots of assignments, roughly around 4 a week, take 1 to 2 hours to complete. He doesn't care if you cheat as long as you paraphrase. Doesn't respond to emails. The class is easy overall; it just takes some time to do the work.

I loved Balserait. He always seemed ready and excited to talk with the class. Every week you read a short story and then theres a short easy quiz after, theres 3 writing assignments, 1 of them being the final paper. Word count for all of them was 800-1,200 so pretty easy. Writing prompts were easy and you can be creative with them too

Balserait was great! Weekly modules posted with a quiz, journal, and discussion. Easy to finish in 1-2 hours. 3 papers with 2-3 weeks between them being assigned and the due date. They had clear rubrics and criteria, and he would grade and provide line-by-line feedback within a week or two. Responds quick to emails and is very understanding!

Prof Balserait is very passionate and a great teacher. The course has a good bit of work, but he explains things very well and slowly builds up to bigger assignments, which helps a lot. He is also a super fair grader. I would highly recommend him.

Great professor, he explains the material very well, passionate about teaching, and he takes time to make sure that you understand the material. Usually, you'll have 1 or 2 pretty easy assignments a week with 3 essays over the semester. There is a midterm and a final in this class, but you can use the work that he does with the class on the tests.

AMAZING Professor. You will have reading assignments and test for them. All of your papers will have very clear instructions. The criteria will be available for you throughout the course but if you need help outside of that, he is easily accessible and very helpful. He definitely cares about his students, I would take his class 1000 times over.

Golden retriever energy. He is a very sweet and passionate professor who genuinely wants to see his students do well. Even at 10 AM in the morning he brought in a lot of energy and made sure his class was entertaining. I would totally take his class again. However, I do understand why students with English as their second language would struggle.

Professor Balserait was genuinely one of the best teachers/professors I've ever had. He was ALWAYS quick to grade assignments and provide genuinely helpful feedback without being condescending. While dealing with a personal issue, I reached out and explained my situation and he was understanding and willing to work with me in case I fell behind.
