Easy A if you are on time and have a good attitude and do the (short) papers on time. Lots of interesting videos about the great people in the industry. If you're one minute late he will count that as one full absence so be on time.

Great teacher who actually works in broadcasting. Show up on time and hand in your work on time and you will get an A. He does not tolerate people who are late or lazy you will be marked off for this. Tests are right from the book so if you don't get a good grade in the class it is your own fault.

Mr. B is really approachable and knowledgable about the broadcasting business. If you want to get into the industry, he is your man. He brings up Rush Limbaugh a lot, which made me want to put my face through the desk, but if you can get over that the class is easy. He lets you use the textbook for exams, too.

This guy is a trip. I've never had a professor that was so dedicated to teaching. I hate sales but I have learned so much from this class that I feel more confident about myself. Mr. B has explained everything we need to know about sales and marketing for my career. This is a must take class if you want to make money in broadcasting.

Wow! Mr. B got us to broadcast the football games. this is the coolest class ever at Valley. I leanred so much. I am a media arts major but changing to Broadcasting becuse of Mr. B and his class. He is tough on tardies but well worth the learning experience.

Great class. My first online expereince. Professor B makes things clear right from the beginning. I learned a lot and was entertained as well. I would definitely take another one of his classes. I met him in person and he is a very nice man.

Interesting class, hands on and full of information. Learning the fundamentals of radio is well demonstrated in this class with this professor.

Mr. Beaton is helpful and clear. Although communication may be an issue, the class is pretty self explanatory. ALWAYS do your labs at whatever costs, it'll pay off during your final. Tests are open book, so that is easy. The class is very hands on.

Mr. B is a great professor, willing to help all of those that want to learn. Some say he's an ass but i've had him for a total of 4 classes now and all I have to say is don't be tardy and shut up when he says. If you do that, you shouldn't have a problem.

It took a while to be in his good graces again, but once there he became very helpful and gave me some great opportunities to be live on air! He's a taskmaster so be on time or homework won't count. I highly recommend Mr. Beaton's Sales and Marketing class. The years I've taken Broadcasting and Television production, this is the first class ever in which the focus was purely on the sales' aspect. I learned a lot from Mr. Beaton - particularly how Radio Stations and Television Networks survive financially because of ad sales.

This was an excellent class in Voice-Over Diction & Narration. I learned a lot particularly through the use of learning by doing it. Mr. Beaton was extremely helpful & knowledgeable with the current trends in radio and audio production. Having this class offered online made it great particularly in getting the assignments done.

Mr. B makes broadcasting fun and interesting. I took it online and by far it has been my most social online class. Mr. B is always around to help if you're stuck either through private message or the chat room. The tests were not that hard, as long as you read the book and there were only 4 one page papers to write. The final is a 10 pg powerpoint.

I took the online course for Broadcasting 1. It was interesting, easy to use the etudes format, and a fun class throughout. There were some hiccups, but these were not due to the teacher, and he is looking into them to help streamline the class. I would suggest this class to anyone.

He is such a fun, easy professor & the class is so much fun. Hands on the radio volt.YOU get 2 have your own show & learn all this type of fun radio stuff. Hands on! Mr. B is a good guy. The class format: each week (15 weeks), you'll write three posts in an online forum. Each week there will be a 10 question test, straight out of the book. Every other week there is a voice recording assignment. It's a marathon, but easy if you dedicate yourself to doing the work.

Mr. B is a great Professor - He takes the time to check with his students and always offers his help in the assignment as far as understanding the assignment. And gives his input in a constructive way that keeps you motivated. Hope that he will be teaching more of the Broadcasting and Media Arts courses.

This was a great class for learning and practicing sound recording, editing, and mixing. You must have the computer, hardware & software to do the assignments or - at least - have access to one. If you don't, then this may not be the online class for you. Teacher doesn't accept late assignments so plan accordingly. Glad I took the class.

Professor Beaton is a great instructor who cares about his students. He has a few hard and fast rules, come to class, come to class on time, do all your homework, and test. You adhere to these rules and you will get an A. There are many instructors who have the same rules and the grade you receive has no certainty. It could be anything.

I liked this teacher though sometimes I felt like I was learning about his life more that I as about the class it is in retrospect that I see his stories about his work in radio was very informative. The tests are right out of the book and they are open book tests.

Took the class during the summer. Mr. B is very helpful and is always willing to help out his students. I highly recommend him the class is an easy A. Just make sure you do the assignments and go to class. Class consisted of 1 midterm (open book), 10 video notes (in class), 2 essay, 4 discussion questions, 1 ppt.

I've taken him for almost all the broadcasting classes, he's really easy and understanding, you must have the book for his classes cause his quizes are open book but for this class I just did my internship and got and easy A. Amazing professor, very blunt & punctual. Explains the lectures in many examples, always talks about his personal life when it comes to the subject. Prof. Beaton has a very clear reading criteria. I took his class online. It was actually my first online class and I thought it was very easy. Assignments are posted on Sunday nights and you get a full week to do them. You have to post in your discussions and follow his instruction to get full credit. There are no quizzes or exams.

The best professor I have ever taken in my 4 years of undergraduate studies. I took his online class which consist of 10 very fun discussion posts, 2 short papers, 1 short powerpoint project. Very relaxed and laid back class. Literally impossible not to get an A unless you completely neglect to do the discussion posts. Highly recommend!

While this was the easiest class I have yet to take (and probably ever will), it was also just as informative. I took Fundamentals of Brdcstg 1 and not one exam or quiz was held, just short essays, discussions on Canvas and a final Powerpoint. Incredibly easy Winter class just wish I got a bit of feedback. No in depth topics, basic stuff. Take him!

Mr. B is a good professor. For his broad 10 class it was a hybrid class when I took it. I preferred it online because the class is about 3 hours. But you will need to make time to come to the station and practice and also record your projects. Theres always someone in there from the club to help you! Don't be shy just ask they are super nice.

Easiest class I have ever taken. Only 5 assignments and 5 discussions for his summer class. You can finish your weekly work in one day in a short amount of time. No tests, no quizzes, and no book! Definitely recommend this class and this professor.

The easest class I have ever had. He is clear on what he wants. you just need to do 10 homeworks in tortal. 5 of them are class discution and you havet to write a few sentences for your classmates. other 5 are very short essayes. take his class . It is a chill class. Easy A.

Had him for Winter 2020. Easy A class. He doesn't believe in tests. 2 HW assignments each week totaling 10 for the entire winter session. If you need some easy units, this is the class for you. As to how much you actually learn about the class is really up to you

Professor Beatons course teaches you what you need for radio and television advertising. The projects you complete, have you apply what you learn through the modules. He also returns your work graded right away.

A fantastic professor. It is an online class and is not demanding. Don't expect feedback on your assignments. So, ask if you need help and he makes the time. He is very responsive to emails etc. and is there for the students. He cares about broadcasting and the future of his students. He wants you to succeed and is there for you.

Must take his Broadcasting 26 class. Took it in 8 weeks. So easy and stress-free. If you need an elective for your Gen Ed classes TAKE HIM!! You will love the class!

Took Professor Beaton's online 8 week 026 class. Super light class and you learn some cool things about Broadcasting for film and television. Simple weekly discussions and one easy project and essay. Professor Beaton is very nice and a light grader as well. Great class to take for credit.

Easy class and its fun! I learned a lot, I recommend this professor! He always responds and helps you, neatless to say I got the highest grade in the class I was so shocked! But extremely happy, it takes time to figure out the voice overs but its a fun class! Take him you wont regret it! Lots fun and interesting things to learn in broadcasting

I really enjoy having Professor Beaton. He's super chill and laid back, but still gives great feedback and clearly cares about his students. He's easy to talk to, never makes you feel dumb for asking questions, and is honestly a great mentor. Highly recommend him!
