He's a clear teacher with a lot of care for the success of students. He connects well with students and goes at a great pace and sends notes through email which is very helpful. His tests weren't too hard and you didn't really need a book although it was helpful.
Good Class. Seems to care about students.
Exams are hard, but he gives chances to make up points. I missed a lot of class due to sickness and court issues and he made sure I had the notes and other information and make up assignments. Really helpful and nice.
Excellent professor. He does not use the book a much, the tests are mostly based on notes, which are excellent. He does e-mail them (very helpful!) but YOU STILL NEED to attend class to do well. The exams he gives are tough, but not unreasonable, and he he is flexible and pretty funny. I think Mr. Blazevic holds you accountable. Awesome professor!!
Exams are difficult, but quizzes and map quizzes are easy. At first I thought the class was way to difficult, but later it was not bad at all. He provides extensive notes for each chapter and does not seem to test on what he does not teach. The book is way to long, over 900 pages, but he made it easy.
Learned a lot. Made boring topic better. Exams were hard. Did not need book.
This guy really cares about the success of his students. Not highly intelligent, but good at teaching what he does know. Great guy, I had him my first semester and intentionally took another class with him.
Course is enjoyable. Took class before years ago and did not learn very much. Dr. Blazevic knows politics and cares about students. However, exams are probably too difficult for freshmen.
Dr. Blazevic usually opens course with a very hard essay oriented 1st exam, but all other tests are largely multiple choice and moderate. Book not needed. Lectures from 100+ pg's of his own notes that he emails out daily. He gives a quiz and essay for every exam. Accommodates and engages students.
Great Class! No complaints except that I wish he would use WebCanvas more. Blazevic is a great teacher and easy to approach and talk to. I hope he never changes.
kinda strange but probably easiest history teacher at Dixie
If he's the one at Georgia Gwinnett College know, then he deserves the rating I gave him. He made the class very fun. His questions are not hard, just study his notes. He is also my mentor, and he is very friendly. I totally recommend him.
Extremely interesting, and fun class, He gives you study guides ,so don't buy the book you won't need it. He offers extra credit in class, so attend. Class is MANDATORY if you want a good grade. Super fun my favorite class of the semester. I would take another class from him in a heartbeat
Great professor. He gives you notes on every chapter and if you study them, you will do just fine. Definitely not overbearing and always willing to help if you need it.
I dont like learning history and I wish I did not have to take this class. The book was way to long. The good thing was the chapter notes and study guides. That made it better.
Great teacher, was a fun class. I did find it kind of strange how every class I went to he always had a popsicle or a corn dog. The way he ate it made us very uncomfortable.
Not an easy class. He expects you to remember every freakin point for an essay you only have an hour to write.
What a great guy! I took both POLS and history from Jason and I've got to say that he's one of my favorite professors at Dixie. His notes are loaded with information, but it's relevant to his quizzes and tests. He grades tough on essays but if you check out the notes you'll get an A guaranteed
i hate this guy. he always tries to be funny but hes really lame. and he always talks about bs
Class is OK. He can be a little weird with jokes. Didnt study real hard, but got a B. It really hard to not get at least a B with a little study and going to class for a few extra assignment for extra points.
Dr. Blazevic knows his stuff. He stays updated in his information. He is willing to work with students. I appreciated the fact that he was never one-sided. He looked at every political view, and taught us accordingly. Though his lectures were a bit boring at times, the information is good, interesting stuff. I'd take another course from him.
Expects the homework and the essays to be on time. He also expects the attendance to be consistent. Lectures are very specific and very entertaining and teacher essential material.
Great professor. Willing to help. Class is not a breeze but not too hard either. Well organized and clear about expectations.
lots of test and quizzes in this class there were 9 total. 3 exams 3 quizzes and 3 map quizzes. Exams are worth 100 points quizzes generally 30 points and map quizzes 20. Sometimes offers extra credit in class if you stay the entire time. He gives you clear notes and just study them and youll do well. Also is kind of funny. DONT BUY THE TEXT BOOK.
His tests were very confusing sometimes including trick questions. It seemed like his goal was to make me not do well in the class. He would give limited time to complete assignments
Although the class is online, I missed a lot of assignments due to an accident. The teacher worked with me and helped a lot. I did the extra credit which helped tons.
Did not need textbook - still got an A. Sometimes boring.
Horrible professor. He thinks he's funny, he's not. His lectures are boring. He puts his notes online, but they are riddled with grammar errors and difficult to understand. He gives a few chances for extra credit, but waits till the end of the semester add it, and that's when he decides what it's worth. I am an A student who got a C+ in this class.
Not easy, but not hard either. The text is OK, but used the notes mostly.
Good class. I had trouble at the beginning. Talked to him and got advice did better. I hate politics but class was good and informative.
The notes he gives are exactly what's gonna be on the test
I took his class online and definitely learned a lot! His discussions for his online students were really easy, while still being insightful. His test questions are really specific, so you can't just study the general points, you have to remember details. Study for more than an hour for the tests and you'll be fine.
It's all in the lecture notes. His tests are knowing the topics & being able to write a description that ties in every lil detail to it. His true or false are killer. You got to work for an A. He has great sarcastic humor so lectures are fun seeing him go off about all the corruption but he talks about important things & is unbiased. Def Recommend.
Textbook use limited since professor provided outline of book with the most important points. Professor didn't test on anything he didn't cover in class/in the notes, so knowing his notes the key to success. Very passionate (but unbiased) about politics, which can be contagious/inspiring. Up there as one of my favorite professors at the school.
He is an amazing professor but DO NOT think you can fly under the radar in this class and still do well. He expects a lot but his expectations are made very clear. He wants everyone to succeed and will help you when you are struggling but you have to put in a lot of work. His notes are very helpful for tests/quizes and he keeps class interesting.
YOU DO NOT NEED A TEXTBOOK. EVERYTHING IS GIVEN IN NOTES AND THE LECTURE. Save some cash, but he is the best and has a great sense of humor
Everybody that says he thinks he's funny is right. BUT HE TOTALLY IS FUNNY! I loved this class. It was an extremely hard class but as long as you put in the work, you can do well. He is understanding as long as you keep him in the loop. What a guy. I'd take another class from him in a heart beat. Work hard, you will do well and be very entertained.
Ok Mr. Blazevick is an epic professor but if your taking this course you will seriously need to prepare for the exams. There were under 20 total grades in this course. The exams are crucial and need A LOT of prep work to do well on. He is very caring and helpful but strict on test grades. He always seems to wear stripes, he just needs a star shirt.
I took his Hist 1700 class over the Summer. He is an awesome teacher, knows his stuff and makes lectures very interesting. No homework or book required, but he has high expectation and class is heavily graded on his tests. Study hard, cause they're not easy. Over all great class, I leaned a ton.
Jason is quite the huge lovable teddy bear that many students are intimidated by. It may seem that his voice mimics a monotone sound, but his lectures are quite entertaining, if you're able to pay attention to his words, and remember them, you should do just fine in his class. Academics aside, you may become friends with this professor and have fun
You are almost as AWESOME as me
Talk to him about your grade! He cares about his students! He is very kind and pretty funny. A lot of people are scared for Political Science, with him don't be. He offers extra credit and will help you understand the lecture. He STAYS ON TOPIC in his lectures and he teaches it in a way that you REMEMBER IT- but still care about your grade. Study!
Blazevic was great! Hes very straightforward about what he expects from you and tells you whats going to be on his assignments/tests. Hes also very funny which makes his lectures even more interesting!
Blazevic is an awesome teacher, but his tests are overly hard, and he grades like there is no tomorrow. In order to get 100 percent on anything you have to include everything which you will never be able to do.
Blazevic is very passionate about what he teaches and gets into a lot of detail. Politics are not my thing but he makes the topic interesting. There is hardly any homework, just study the notes he gives on his powerpoints and you will be fine. Ive taken two of his classes and have enjoyed both.
This class was so easy. All of the tests are at home tests and we hardly ever used the text book. I would highly recommend this class for anyone who needs POLS and just wants an easy A.
I have mixed feelings about this teacher. He is a really nice guy and he has a lot of interesting things to say. I have enjoyed learning more about politics from him. The only problem I had was how hard of a grader he is. You have to basically know the answers word for word or youll get it wrong. Nice guy, really tough grader.
Blazavick is a really good professor. He has a hilarious dry sense of humor that really catches you by surprise! His entire class is pretty much lectures, but with major tests, so make sure you study. All around he's a really good professor.
I would recommend taking Blazevic's online class. He has very clear expectations. I never spent more than a half hour a week working on this class, except when studying for the 3 tests. With that being said, you really need to study the notes for the tests. There are essay questions you need to know practically word for word. Loved Blazevic.
Blazevic is passionate about history & political science and tries to make his lectures interesting for the whole class (even if some students aren't quite so enthusiastic about the subject matter.) He is very organized and clear about assignments, due dates, tests/quizzes. Avoid missing class - tests/quizzes are directly from class lectures/notes.
I tool his online History 1700 class. There is a lot of reading from the textbook because it was an online class, but he makes himself available for students anytime. Not a whole lot of homework, but tests are taken 100% from the notes he gives. SO STUDY THE NOTES! If you do that and pay attention, it's a great experience.
Blazevic is the best teacher I've ever had, he is extremely interesting too. He's super fun to have an outside of class conversation with. His exams are difficult but they're I think he's very fare. I would love to take his class again 10/10 Blazevic is the man
I was excited for his class after reading his reviews, but I was disappointed. He has a very dry personality, so make sure you're ready for a lot of sarcasm. His class was fine. Although some of the tests/quizzes can be frustrating because he throws in trick questions and some questions that require you to be very specific.
I do not care about politics, but I enjoyed this class. Blazevic was willing to meet with me to give a few pointers which helped my grade, especially on exams. Be aware - he rips on all politicians and he always wears striped shirts. The guy seriously needs some solids. Oh yeah, do the extra credit.
Stripped shirt, boots, and black pants. Very intelligent! He's pretty much a living history/political science textbook. He provides very detailed study guides, which are basically the tests, so study those and do quizlets since you will write out detailed essay like answers on the tests. You do NOT need to buy the textbook. Honestly what a good lad
Very straightforward. Dates for each assignment are given before hand. 3 Quizzes, 3 Essays, 3 Tests. Starts each class with current events and that's my favorite part. My class was 2.5 hours long, but he made it go by quickly. STUDY ALOT MORE THEN YOU THINK YOU NEED and answer questions fully for the first quiz. catches everyone off guard.
Blazevic is a really good teacher. He might come off as a bit intimidating, but he cares about his students and is willing to help you succeed. Show up to class. He gives extra credit that often is only obtained by showing up when he gives out one of his surprise extra credit assignments. His tests are fairly hard but not impossible.
Trick questions on tests. Tests have material that he hasn't taught you. Expects you to answer questions in the way he is thinking without specifying how.
He is really clear about what he wants. Put in the work and you will do well. He gives great lectures that are very informative. He wants to prepare you for the real world, so you do need to be ready to study, but all the notes are online and if you study those you will do fine on the tests.
I had a C- in March, but I started discussing my grade with Blazer in email and asking for help since all classes were moved online cause Covid. Blazer helped and gave some hints and brought my grade up. The only way you get a D or F is not trying.
Easily the funniest man on the planet
Blazevic is by no means an easy professor. He makes you work for it and you WILL need to study a lot. The class isn't impossible to get an A in. If you do the work it's not too bad. He has a great dry sense of humor and really cares about his students. He makes sure not to be biased in political discussions and gives you the facts. Great professor!
This was the only class I had to take when I transferred to Dixie, and it wasn't hard at all! 3 quizzes, 3 tests, and 2 EC assignments. The quizzes and tests are based EXACTLY off the notes, so I didn't use the book at all! I never got a 100% on the written portion of the exam because he grades like there's no tomorrow, but an easy A for sure!
Quizzes were hard and he did not tell us anything about what was expected.
So, Blazic is intimidating and it was a lot of work... at first. His chapter notes are what really matters for the few assignments he has. I followed the notes for everything. Blaz is a tough grader, but the extra credit is a life saver. Decent class.
I cannot stand professor Blazevic. He shares his opinion way too much even after claiming he wouldn't. Even though I often agree with his opinion I feel like the classroom is not the place to share that. Overall his people skills are low and I did not enjoy taking his class. I would often find myself dozing off during class.
Nothing like an april fools rating. Course does not have many assignments and most are not difficult except for the 3 freakin exams. You really really really need to study the notes for them. He gives out amazing notes on each chapter. Test essay questions are so insane. I like the class though, its good.
Blaz is tough. The course is hard and it seemed like i studied all the time. On the other hand i am only in 10th grade in high school. I got a B and I am OK with that.
Only graded on discussions and tests. No lecture videos, just chapter notes. I did not purchase textbook and was fine. Just read the chapter notes and you'll do good on the tests. About one chapter a week, and I just read it through and then studied right before test
One assignment due every week on Fridays (quiz, discussion, or test). Was very specific when grading tests. Always docked points on essay questions for dumb things. Overall it was an easy online class but you have to do assignments on time and put some effort in to ensure he won't dock you.
Do the extra credit. That is how I got an A-. Does not penalize for not showing up to class.
If I would have done the extra credit I would have gotten an A. Grades tough on Exams. Gives chapter notes and study guides.
I have to write about this, like now. Epic! He told the class there were rumors of cheating and he changed the final at the last minute. Wow! Some were unhappy. Good teacher and I learned a lot.
His class was so hard! You have to study SO MUCH, which normally is fine, but when you have other classes on top of that it's so hard. Even when you study a lot, the tests are extremely difficult. He does give test study guides though so that's nice. I personally wouldn't take this professor again, but he's alright.
Extra credit is important. I do not like these type of classes but it is required. I did not expect to do well, but the extra credit made a difference.
Professor Blazevic is a VERY Tough grade on exams and quizzes. He expects you to answer every question in a full paragraph(for short answers). I have literally given full definitions from the textbook PLUS an example or second definition and I'll be docked points. If it's for a required credit... Good Luck...
This course should not have been as difficult as it was. The quizzes and tests are very nitpicky for the answers-There were some answers where answers contradicted each other in the same textbook. The quizzes formatting is also very confusing with some quizzes covering chapters we haven't yet reached. Don't take this class unless you need to.
There are 3 discussions quizzes and exams and no final. Theres also 3 extra credit opportunities. Super funny guy but he does expect you to study and expand your knowledge on us history. Also gives extra credit for showing up when the semester is half over and like 7 people show up
Not a fan of this class, but it was required. Extra credit saved me, so do the extra credit. I emailed this dude for help and he helped me with my study guide. The class is not easy, so do the extra credit and he will help if you ask.
I am in high school and the "college students" who are seated around me complain a lot about how hard the class is. Yeah, it is a hard class, but isn't that what a college course is? I am getting an A, but I am working for it. He has chapter notes, which I have use for every assignment. I have also turned in every extra credit assignment.
Just took the final, whoa! There is a textbook, but you can get away with barely using it since Blaz gives chapter notes. The course was tough. I only did one extra credit assignment, if I would have turned in another, I would have A-. Blaz is good, but I would never take again. . . . I do not need any more of these history courses.
Blazevic has made this course 100x more difficult than it should've been. Each exam he expects exact answers to a fine T without any slight error. He words multiple choice questions terribly, and is very little help on explaining his answers. He expects only perfection with each test and will DESTROY your grade because of it. 0/10
I made sure to go through the Chapter Notes in the Modules before exams and quizzes. He grades literally right out of the Chapter Notes. Once I figured that out, life was much easier. The extra credit helped me get an A.
Pretty simple - goes over powerpoints and tells you what chapter to go over for quizzes and gives study guides for test. Just study.
Some are mad cause they haven't had to study for much for the last 2 years. This class was hard, but I did not even buy the book. I used the notes in canvas for every assignment and I turned in all the extra credit. so yeah, this class is hard, but I got an A and I am in high school.
I didn't study very hard, but I focused on just the notes. He always had a dew or dr. pepper with him. I think he keeps them in business.
Professor Blazevic was a good professor, however, there are very few points in the class. It is fairly easy to get an A as long as you use his chapter notes and read the textbook. His grading never made since though, and he would not work with students.
God class. Completely online and students are basically on their own. I was missing assignments and blazevic let me turn in make-up assignments.
The best on campus EVER
The class was tough but I never missed. It was only one day a week. If you study his chapter notes really well and go to class you will be fine. You have to study his notes. The answers to everything are in the notes.
Hardest teacher I have ever had. He does not teach well and DESTROYS your grade. Docks points on every tiny thing. Also, I was told he makes quizlets and puts the wrong answers on purpose. Do not study with quizlet!! On his test, he would switch the number on the years just to trick you even if everything else was correct. Do not take unless needed
You have to do the extra credit. All the answers are in his chapter notes and the class is online. He gives study guides for exams. If I would have studied more ahead of time I would have got an A, but I dont care.
There are 3 exams which are worth a lot of points and were difficult. To get the A, I turned in all the extra credit. Blazevic dishes out some sarcasm so be prepared.
Professor Blazevic has to be one of my favorite professors of all time. He has a passion for what he teaches and really wanted us to understand the importance of the material. With that being said, his quizzes and tests are quite hard if you do not already have a foundation understanding about government. He grades tough, but is also understanding.
Jason Blazevic will call you out when you are being disruptive. He won't get angry, but he will point out that you are not paying attention to the rest of the class. He is very funny, and you feel comfortable to add on to his lectures.
Wonderful teacher, but also one of the toughest I ever had. Although there is technically a textbook, you just need to follow his notes. *Everything* in these notes shows up on the exams and he will dock points for omitting the smallest tidbits. However, succeeding in his class is a rewarding experience and you will learn a lot!
The reason I received the A- is I did not turn in all of the extra credit. Turn in the extra credit! Good class and I had to see him to talk him into reopening an assignment. He is nice and told a joke while eating a peanut butter sandwich. I guess that is why there were jars of peanut butter.
I took this class online and it was often a headache. He tells you everything is in the notes but docks you a ton of points for "only" including those details in the essay portions of each test. Despite changing how I answer the essay questions (including extra details, connections, etc.) I always only got half credit. Extra credit is a lifesaver.
Do the extra credit. I would have an A if I would have turned in the extra credit. He let me make-up a missing quiz as well.
Blazic gave me a weird ruler to help me write better. It worked. He is tough but fair and gave extra credit.
Pretty much everything you need is in the notes. Textbook did help though. I saw blazic at walmart and he told me to turn in the extra credit. Yep!
Great course! Teacher is very Clear, engaging and straight forward. Great extra credit!!!!!!! Overall, great teacher, take his courses.
Love him as a person but not as a teacher. His class is 100% lecture and only that. I don't learn that way so I had a very hard time learning anything and would have to watch youtube videos to actually understand what was going on. The test are also very very hard and he only gives a study guide for the exams.
He is the most interesting and engaging teacher I have ever had. He is very strait forward, but his lessons make you feel like you are listening and visualizing history. He is the best history professor ever!
He calls out students, makes them uncomfortable, but to him its 'funny'. Test study guides are too broad for a great score on his tests. He spends most of lecture off topic from the notes and the chapter. We only get through a maximum of 1 chapter a day, but usually like half one. The notes are about 5 pages so it shouldn't be hard to get through.
His jokes are weird, but hes a good teacher. study for exams and do the extra credit.
Decent class
This class only had 3 discussions, 3 quizzes, and 3 exams, with 1 extra credit assignment per module. That was nice, but you basically just read the textbook the entire semester. There were no lectures or homework assignments. You definitely teach yourself, though he provides notes for each chapter, a study guide, and the tests are open book/note.
