He is just wonderful. He will take extra time to help anyone and is very clear in his lectures. He is also very fair in grading, which is important in this sort of course. I would DEFINITELY recommend Briley!

I spent 25 years being too afraid of math to go to college. I enrolled, not expecting to pass the first course. Mr. Briley was very patient, kind, and helpful--even when I came into his office in tears! He tells the class what to expect and is more than willing to help. Advice: do your homework! It's the only way to prepare for the tests!

he is kinda hard to understand at first b/c he is such a monotone, but he is a very good teacher. he is willing to help his students in any way he can. his grading is very lenient and helps you out as much as he can on the tests and quizzes. i definitely recommend him for a teacher!

Mr. Briley is a really good teacher. He is definitely helpful, nice, and patient. He absolutely does not mind you asking questions. He is a little strange, but goes over and explains very good. He is good for people who are not strong in math and those who are, too. I would suggest taking him every chance you get. Great teacher and a nice man.

Best Teacher EVER. I took him for the MA 100 and MA 112 combined course. I am TERRIBLE in math and almost failed my senior year in high school due to math. He is the ONLY teacher that has ever been able to teach me math. Take him for ANY math class you have if possible. Also do your homework, it will help you on the test! Overall, GREAT teacher!

I was always horrible at algebra and thought I'd never pass in college. I understood it so much better when I had him. His class was fast paced and it's important to go to all the classes or you'll get behind. He's very nice and funny at times. You need the textbook for homework. His first test was kind of hard but they just got easier and easier.

Dr. Briley is extremely helpful & explains things in a very slow and helpful way for those who have a hard time w math. I took his "100/112 fast math". I did great and anytime I didnt understand something I went to his office before class and he explained it. He gives 3 quiz's per test which gives you several oppertunities to bring your grade up.

BEST math teacher ever! Very structured and organized. Does not grade hw but will go over any problems the next day in class. Very clear at explaining what to expect on tests/quizzes. Very straight forward. Usually the lesson is done early and you have time to work on homework during class. Very helpful!!

Dr. Briley is a very good math instructor. He will help you after class and is always in his office during his posted hours. He is very clear and professional in everything he does. I would definitely recommend Dr. Briley for ANY math class. If you do the homework, you are bound to understand and do well because he is excellent at what he does!!!!

I took this course online. He teaches by explaining at a very nice pace on a power point screencast video. The great thing is you can watch the videos as many times as you need if you don't understand. I like to watch again right before an exam.

Mr.Briley is a good professor, he is very fair. I missed more than the allowed days and he never confronted me, but I also kept an "A" in the class. The quizzes, tests, and online homework all coincide nicely.

I took this class as as a half semester with MA 112. He explains everything thoroughly every time he goes over answers so that you're sure to get it! Even though the class was half the time, I still passed with an A! ^_~

This class was taken as a half semester along with MA 100. Even though it was sped up and I had issues with the first time I took it (not with Mr. Briley) Mr. Briley makes it easy to understand and always goes through the problem when going over answers so you're sure to get it! Made As on EVERYTHING except the last test.. remember those formulas.

Mr. Briley is the best teacher I have had at UNA. He is very clear with his teachings. He is always willing to help and work around your schedule. His lessons, homework (online), worksheets, quizzes and tests all match up and help you get a better understanding of the material. I wish I could take him for every math!

I love Dr. Briley! I've already signed up for his class next semester. He is kinda monotone, so that may put you to sleep. He gives very clear, easy to understand notes on the board every day. You have MyMathLab homework for every section so you'll need the access code but no book. Super easy class, as long as you pay attention, you'll ace it

Dr. Briley is an extremely clear teacher. His class is very boring because he has one of those voices that wants to put you to sleep. His test and quizzes are easy as long as you pay attention. Gives lots of examples and notes are easy to follow. Very helpful and would recommend

I struggled with math, BIG TIME! For anyone who is not confident in math i would recommend him. He I had to drop math 100 and i was extremely discouraged when it came to math. He goes over the material thoroughly and is easy to talk to and cut up with in his office. I wish there was more teachers like him. I passed and took him once!

Took this as a 2-in-1 semester class with MA110. Great guy, extra credit available on the tests. I never bought the book; towards the end of class, he posts the questions for homework out of the book on the board. I would just copy them down before I left.

I actually took this class online, and found it to be a lot easier than in a math class. His online lectures are very clear and the homework helped tremendously. I actually missed my final (doh!) and sent him an email about it and he was able to let me take it on a different day. He's a very nice guy and a great teacher.

Briley has to be the best math teacher I've ever had. He works problems out on the whiteboard and if you copy all of it down AND do the homework (online) assigned, you should get an A. If you're confused about something, he's more than happy to help you figure it out. Textbook is optional, however you have to get the online code for homework.

You have quizzes and like 4 test. I suck at math and maintained a 100. So easy.

Briley is a wonderful math teacher. I am not even good at math and passed with a high A with a breeze. You take a ton of notes, but he makes it very simple to understand and is willing to help you outside of class if you don't. All homework is online and not that much of it and is never due until the test day. Test are simple and I barely studied.

Professor Briley is amazing! Absolute must take. If you struggle in math, he makes it so easy to understand. I wish all professors were like him.

I studied for about 7 hours for the final and received a much lower grade than I thought due to a few dumb mistakes and came to see him in his office later to see what I did wrong. He rounded my high D up to a C and talked briefly. Dr. Briley is a great and caring professor and a really nice guy to talk to if you ever go see him in his office!

Great Math Professor. You definitely want to take notes. Grades fairly. His final is very hard compared to the rest of the exams so study. NEVER let him catch you with a phone in class.

Very difficult class, but Dr Briley is an excellent professor. He grades and responds to emails quickly. I am a History major therefore terrible at math, but if I had to take another math course, I would choose Briley. He does require proctored testing and uses the Lockdown browser. Make sure you complete all the homework or you will take a big hit

I took this course online. He made it easy with teaching presentations to understand the material. He gave homework for each section on My Math Lab, then tests were taken online in the classroom. He also gives good test review sheets prior to the exams.

I am NOT a math person. Dr. Briley made video presentations for every section. The MathLab homework isn't a direct reflection of what you should expect on the tests. his test questions are exactly like what he goes over in his videos. If you try to breeze through it you will not pass. He will work with you as long as you communicate with him. 10/10

Very straight to the point in classroom instruction. Responds very quickly to after-hours questions. Not easy, but not hard. Lots of MyMathLab homework, but it helps. Gives partial credit on tests.

He makes math very easy, even for those who struggle with it. I recommend him to everyone I talk to. However, he does speak with a monotone voice, so if that is going to make it hard to pay attention, you might want to take someone else.

Briley is absolutely amazing. All of the lectures are very clear and easy to understand. He gives quizzes but they are short and very easy. Tests are usually 10-12 questions but are easy and he gives partial credit. Only thing I didnt like was the amount of homework he gave. Im good at math, but even if youre not he is very helpful.

Oh my goodness I LOVED this class. And thats really saying something because I hate math. Dr. Briley makes sure you know what youre doing. Hes such an amazing professor and Id definitely take him again!!

I absolutely love Dr. Briley's courses! He is really nice and he is extremely helpful and explains problems so well! I've taken 2 courses that he's taught and I would take more if it were in my major!

He is funny and very help. He does give a lot of homework but it is for our greater good. I dislike math but he made it fun. The class is not hard but you will not get an easy A, If you do not do the homework and study for the quizzes and tests. If you miss more alot of classes, it will not count.

I took Briley online for 110 and it was a good class. He is EXTREMELY boring to listen to, but his lectures are clear. There's lots of homework, but his quizzes and tests aren't too difficult. He made a ton of accommodations due to COVID-19 and was very quick to respond to any questions. I am HORRIBLE at math, but still managed an high A!

I LOVE professor Briley. If I could take him for every math course, I would. He is extremely organized and straight to the point in his lectures. He gives amazing partial credit, so even if you get the wrong answer, you will usually still gain a point or two. I will always recommend Briley, he is an amazing professor.

AMAZING!!!!!! I hate math but he made class so enjoyable and he grades your work so even if you try and get the problem wrong you get partial credit!!! I didn't do too great on my final for 110 but he rounded my 87 up to an A. He's great. 10/10

Dr. Briley is the best! He goes slow and is very clear. DO THE HOMEWORK. The lecture is mandatory. If you have 3 or fewer absences, you can replace your lowest test grade with your final exam grade. This course is very test-heavy, with 3 tests and a final exam. I was worried about taking calculus courses, but it is easy if you put in the effort.

His class is quite easy, do the homework or else you will be overwhelmed. His class is one I don't have to worry about, in honesty take him.

Even though the lectures are slow, he is a great teacher. He is the only teacher Ive had in a while the actually explains all the steps in a problem. I highly recommend taking him. I am also planning on taking him again for MA 122

I have never been good at math and Dr. Briley changed that! I even enjoyed math in his class! His lectures are so clear and easily understandable. Just keep up with homework and quizzes!

Professor Briley is very good at what he does. I am just not good at math and even worse when the class is online, because my motivation lacks. His class is very passable as long as you do the homework assignments and keep up with the lectures. Not letting yourself get behind is the key.

He is amazing at explaining how to do math! He uses MyMathLab for homework, which was super easy for me to use personally. The homework can sometimes be different than the material in class but MyMathLab helps explain problems to you as well.

He is such an amazing teacher! I am honestly not the greatest when it comes to Math, but he explained things very well in lectures. Make sure not to miss class to much, he teaches a lot in lectures. There is a decent amount of homework, but as long as you complete it ahead of time it shouldn't feel like a lot.

10/10 my fav Math professor I've taken! GIVES PARTIAL CREDIT!!! Lectures are easy and straightforward, if you email him a question, he will get back within 2 hours. There is a decent amount of HW, but it is really not bad. I suck at math but he made it easy to understand and fun. I'll miss him when I take Trig next sem!

Briley is a great teacher. His grading is fast (usually within the next meeting), and he goes over what a majority of the people missed after he passes out the graded test. He's generous, understanding, responds to emails, and always willing to help. He creates an environment where you are comfortable to ask questions. ATTENDANCE IS IMPORTANT

An amazing teacher, really helps you to learn the material. My favorite part about this class was he gave partial credit on quizzes and test. So, if I missed a question he would give me half credit because I used the right formula. His voice gets boring to listen to, but its worth it. Overall, he was a great teacher and made math make since.

Dr. Briley is very blunt and his lectures can drag on seemingly forever, but he's great at explaining things. I have genuinely never felt this good about a math class. Very monotone, don't take him first thing in the morning, but I would 100% take his class if you're not good at math because he makes it feel easy.

Math is definitely my worst subject, but I really learned the material in this class. Some of the Mylab homeworks were difficult, but as long as you watch the videos and take notes you will do good. very good explanations, but takes the willpower to get everything done when taking online.
