He is decent professor who still seems nervous in front of a class of 120 people. His tests are not like the homework. Just show lots of work and you get a lot of partial credit. He is always open to talk to, whether you'll learn anything during that time is another thing. Lecture is boring, it's all theory.

The lecture sections are not very helpful because there is too much theory involved with the material. Dr. Brown does his clumsy best to teach, and he is often times amusing on accident. He is willing to talk with students. Beware that the tests are composed of a couple of multiple-part confusing free response questions often w/o numbers.

I think he's a great professor. No physics lecture is going to be interesting because it is nothing but deriving equations, that you don't even need. He is a good professor though, if you just listen to his main points. I have an A in the class and don't study much outside of class, so TAKE HIM!!!

This guy may (still unsure) know his material but has a VERY difficult time explaining to students. His tests resemble nothing that was covered in class. For instance: on one of the Phys 221 tests, in order to answer one of the problems, you had to recall how to integrate kinetics from Phys 122 (without any review of the material) Benefit: American

J-Bro is a nice teacher, pretty fair guy. He gives "corrections" (curves) on some things which helps if you end up sleeping through class a few times. He does have some good points that are helpful to know, but sometimes the derivations are not as helpful as some examples would be.

It is true that he is fresh out of grad. school and fall 2006 was his first year being the head of a class. He is a brilliant man, but it is easy to get lost in his class. I have a feeling, though, that in a year or two when he gets his stuff together and has some experience, he'll be a fine teacher. I must say he was very fair with his grading.

I found that attending this class did not prepare me for the homework of the tests, but attendance was required. We mostly discussed general concepts of physics but the examples we did in class were not as helpful as they could've been. The exams are based on the homework, so if you can understand it, you should do well on the exams.

I didn't have the other professors, but I don't get how he can be the best physics option. His lectures were so boring, and rather than teaching a way to solve the problems, he'd just run through them once and move on. He's the kind of professor to wait until the very last second to dismiss everyone and if you ask a question he gets really rude.
