the best professor ever!! recomend to everybody great great professor
The best professor ever nothing negative only positive, Easy A can not complain :))))
he's great to get along with, hes good looking. class is a lot of work but its helpful information. :)
Awesome class. Do your work and you'll get an A. Don't take this class if you don't like speaking in public or group work. Not a lot of extra work so do everything that is assigned and turn it in on time.
This class was easy but everything is due at the end of the semester. Make sure you do all of the assignments early, and you won't have e a problem. His class was really fun, and he made it easy for the students. Would definitely recommend him.
I absolutely loved this class. The professor is so adorable, quirky and a little odd. He appreciates grammar, writing and he has a love for what he does. Much better than a generic old professor. You can tell that although he has 1293238 classes, he cares. A+
Professor Calabrese is a great professor! His class is really easy if you do all of the work on time. The only downfall is the 40 articles due at the end of the semester which are really hard to finish the last few days! Make sure not to procrastinate on them!!! I really recommend this course! He's really into the class and enjoys what he does!
professor Calabrese keeps the class engaged and gives a fun twist on the class and gives you the opportunity to understand mla format and become a better student. I highly recommend him.
Awesome professor. Engaging and passionate about the material. Humorous and pleasant with quick wit. ASoIaF fan, which is just cool. If you do the work when it's assigned and keep pace with the assignments you will be fine. If you wait until the end of the semester to start your 5000 words of required writing, you're gonna have a bad time.
Great professo, I love this class. He makes classes fun and interesting. Do your assigment on time, that's my best advice. A lot of work but if you don't wait until the last minute, you will not have any problem. I highly recomend him.
I love this class, professor Calabrese makes the classes fun and interesting. If you like to get your assigments done on time, there is nothing to worry about. I highly recomend him.
Great teacher, learned alot!
Great professor! He makes the class fun and interesting to attend. If you don’t procrastinate and do all your work on time you will get an A! I highly recommend his class
Everything you need to know for the entire course is on the syllabus. Which makes what he expects from you, very clear from the get-go. Professor Calabrese runs a very well organized class; you'll enjoy it even if you don't enjoy composition. Keep up with the assigned work and you'll be fine.
Professor Calabrese is one of the best professors I have had. He makes his class fun and filled with work but you really don't notice it because of the way he has it set up. i recommend this class to anyone who has to take comp 1.
I had a lot of fun in his class; He gives a lot of asignments, just don't wait at the last minute to them. English is my third language and I did fine with his help, I got an A. Definitely recommended!!!
Great Professor. Learned alot. Class was easy just have to stay on top of things and not fall behind.
Pretty easy class. Just do your work when it is asked and youll be fine. u already know what your going to be doing before you come to class. Easy A if you do what your suppose to.
One of the best classes I've taken. He was very helpful with assignments and he basically gives you what you need for an A. Do not leave the Newspaper Articles until the last minute!!
He makes getting an A as simple as can be. No text books used. mid to heavy work load, but never confusing. Always interesting writing topics. Highly recommend.
Excellent person and professor. You just need to follow the deadlines and keep a good rhythm until the end. The syllabus is clear and tell everything you need to do to pass the course. Do not procrastinate and you will be fine.
Best class ever, he's the most unique professor you can have.I recommend taking his class. Very easy you just have to keep up with the assignments.
Professor Calabrese is a great professor. His class is designed fr you to get the grade you are looking for. If you are a high achiever the class is an easy A if you are not you mught find it overwhelming. Gives you chances to get better grades on your essay prior to the deadline. T grade yu receive is up to you.
Prof Calabrese is by far my favorite professor. I would highly recommend taking classes with him any chance you have. The work is fun, a little time intensive, but rewarding. He really does make it easy for you to get whatever grade you want as long as you put effort into it. I loved the in-class debate. Looking forward to Comp II with him.
Prof Calabrese was by far my favorite professor. He definitely designed his class so that you can get the grade you want as long as you put the effort into it. I am looking forward to taking Comp II with him. The in-class debate is also a lot of fun and a good learning aid. I would highly recommend taking classes with him whatever chance you have.
I just had Professor Calabrese Fall 2013 and he was great! Assigns a lot of work though so you definitely should not procrastinate! This class kept me going and I was constantly doing work, but it wasn't that bad. He mad the class fun and entertaining. Definitely recommend!
Just do your work and you should get an A. I suggest doing a few newspaper journals a week to keep a good pace.
This class was my favorite! Great teacher! He is a very fair professor. As long as you do your work and meet your deadlines you're sure to get an A! Assignments are clear, you just need to put in the work and NOT PROCRASTINATE! I suggest to do newspaper assignments weekly.
He is very funny and makes Literature fun with his different exercises.
Calabrese is awesome he keeps the class interesting and gives you plenty of time and instruction to complete assignments. the only way to fail is by not going to class. he's a wonderful professor i'd recommend his class to anyone.
I enjoyed the class very much, I understood exactly what to do and how to do it, and I found myself looking forward to class, looking forward to the professor's jokes, teaching methods, and general company. Also I made three fairly close friends thanks to one of the assignments.
He is an amazing professor and will work with you to get an A. He makes you feel comfortable in his class. Professor Calabrese designs the course so you can easily achieve the grade you desire. I am not big on presenting in front of an audience however I was not as nervous as I usually get when I have to present my projects in any other class.
This professor is very efficient and fun. If you keep up with your journals from day one and don't slack on any assignments then you'll get a good grade in his class no doubt. Have fun and enjoy his style of teaching!
Comp II has an literature emphasis. The Professor is funny and clearly outlines the course. He has given me courage in my writing, both academically and personally. You have plenty of time to get the grade you want. There is also unlimited extra credit. I am sad that I will no longer have classes with my favorite professor. Enjoy!
Awesome professor, highly recommended!! I would definitely take him again if I had the opportunity!
Engaging, creative, alternative, flexible, fair and fun professor. He gives his students a lot of freedom, responsibility and creative license. I highly recommend him!
Great professor. Explains the assignments thoroughly, fun, and efficient. Works by task not by time. So whenever the assignment is done he releases the class. Make sure to keep up with the journals!! Good luck and enjoy!
Awesome professor! He is extremely helpful and really cares about his students. If you do not understand an assignment he will repeat himself until you do! Stay on top of your news journals or else you'll be overwhelmed towards the end of the semester. OVERALL AWESOME!
He was an awesome professor. He is very clear on what he wants from his students. DO NOT procrastinate because you will fall behind. Do a little bit of your Journal every week so you don't have to be overwhelmed at the end. Overall he was a great professor. I got a 97% on his class so if you put your time into your work you should be just fine :)
I took Prof. Calabrese for Summer B. Definitely, a fast class(6 weeks) with the 4,000 word requirement and 40 journals just like a full term semester. Calabrese is clear on all assignments and due dates. I got a 98%. If you do not procrastinate it will be an easy "A". Class is fun, totally recommend him!
Professor Calabrese was a concerned, attentive, and enjoyable professor. I specifically enjoyed how he interacted with the class. He would often put music on during in-class assignents, which made it a more relaxing environment. There's a lot of writing; just don't be late with your assignments and don't procrastinate with the reading journal!!
Professor Calabrese is one of those professors that is easy but won't take B.S. for assignments. Do the work, pass the class. Simple. Don't skip classes on days where you have a Peer Review or you won't receive credit for that assignment. Essays are easy. Overall, easy assignments. Don't procrastinate.
Very easy class, Calabrese can be pretty sarcastic and a little confusing when answering questions.
Awesome teacher, he is a very charismatic guy who seems to enjoy teaching and does it in a fun and efficient way! Don't get behind on the journal entries.
This class wasnt that bad. People complain about the journal entries which are a pain, but you will live. So basically you will only be writing 4 papers throughout the whole semester. They are not due until the end of the semester, but you will have a due date for the rough drafts. Dont skip out on those. They are just 2.5 points, but it adds up
You have a guaranteed A in this class if you are willing to put the work in. He usually allows you to do as much extra credit as you need to get your grade up to where you want it. All of the essays are due at the end of the semester but his class definitely teaches you not to procrastinate.
Almost all of the assignments in this class are simple and seem pointless. Not the most interesting class but it's not hard. If you do your essays and journals, you should be fine. Just don't wait to start them and bring the rough drafts in on their due dates.
Prof. Calabrese's syllabus is crystal clear on what you need to do to get an "A." You could potentially have the class completed very early. He provides helpful feedback on the 4 essays that are required for this class, which enables you to improve your grade before the due date. Loved his teaching style and I highly recommend.
Great professor. Class is very easy, but you must show up for lecture and do not procrastinate. Focus and you will get an A without a problem!
Very good professor I took him for ENC 1101 and passed with an A, he is very clear on everything you do. Second time around for ENC 1102 he was good, you should know what to do if you had him for comp 1. I mixed up the days for my final and emailed him the day of just a couple hours later about possibly taking it and he said no. I was pissed.
I took both Comp I and Comp II with Prof Calabrese. His classes are enjoyable and he is fair and encouraging. If you plan ahead an don't leave all the work until the last day, you will do great. The lectures are fun and he grades leniently, provided you turn in everything on time.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! I took him for comp 1 and 2 and I got an A in both without having to take the final. Don't procrastinate and youll do fine. Would definitely take any class he teaches!
Makes class interesting and assignments are easy because you can pick the topics.
Professor Calabrese is a great professor I had him for Composition I. His class is very enjoyable and his class isn't extensive, he gives you all the material you need to know and you're on your way. Assignments are easy as long as you don't procrastinate. I would recommend this class to anyone.
Great Class
Very reasonable and very easy course as long as you can handle the papers that are assigned.
Rule #1. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. You might think this class is hard because its pack with lots of writing and reading, but truth is its really not that hard, the work is actually pretty easy. Mr. Calabrese is a very cool professor. he gives you chance to do 20-80 journal entries if you happen to not be doing to well in the class.
Class was excellent and fun to go through. The only thing to watch for is procrastinating all of your work till the end
AMAZING CLASS! This class is super easy if you do the work. Syllabus has the whole semester planned out with the assignments and when they are due. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!
This was a great class. He was very clear with everything from the beginning. Gives you extra Credit and lots of time to do them. He's also very funny. Loved this class
Lots of work but not difficult. Just tedious assignments. Turn ALL work in on time because he does not accept ANY late work at all. He is a great teacher and uses interactive methods instead of boring lectures. Would definitely recommend his class.
Mr. Calabrese was an awesome teacher, the assignments were very interactive and different. He was also funny, and used great teaching methods to really tune in my learning focus and really reached a newer level of learning in his class. Thank you again! I hope to have you again in the future.
He makes class fun and easy going. But don't expect an easy grade a lot of work throughout the semester but it all adds up. Plenty of extra credit for any assignments missed. Will not take late work but the semester well planned out beforehand so you know what is due and when. So make sure to keep the syllabus on hand.
NEED more profs like Calabrese!! Keeps it SIMPLE/straight to the point! Consistent, thorough, and has awesome dry sarcasm. He literally explains the exact assignments/expectations needed for the entire semester on the 1st day of class. This class is the reason I actually did not procrastinate this semester, so DON'T. His humor makes class fun, TAKE
I would not say this class was easy. However, you have to put lots of effort in other to pass. Don't expect to just show up in class and pass. Please do not procrastinate. Professor Calabrese is nice, full of energy, and funny. He is really creative. Do not wait the last minutes to get things done. U will get an A if u follow the syllabus! Take!
Everything in the class is basically a discussion post that's due before class starts. Attendance isn't mandatory, I only showed up for 2.5 classes (I left after a break) and still managed to get a 96% in the class. The final paper is supposed to be 2000 words, but as long as your paper is clear and concise, then you'll pass.
This is practically an online class, consisting of discussion posts relating to that weeks homework. There's a lot of reading mostly short stories and some poems, that being said the book is a must. A lot of interaction between students in class. He's a funny guy and does his best not to over work you seeing as he is a student too so he gets it.
His class was basically online. Type up replies about readings. Can be anything you thought about in the readings; and then one paper at the end. You didn't really have to show up to class because what we would do was discuss the readings from the book and our posts on canvas. He is very very nice and communication with the class is mandatory.
Class is easy and usually gets out early! Professor Calabrese is one of the best professors I have ever had! Attendance is not mandatory but usually there is something due every class. There are 4 essays due and one is the research essay which is 4,000 words. He gives you a chance to turn the essays in to see the grade first.
Professor Calabrese is a fantastic professor! The online format for his course was very interactive and engaging. There was a lot of work involved, but his format kept a steady pace and it was actually a fun class. All of the students seemed to enjoy it.
I loved my ENC1101 class with Professor Calabrese so much that I will be in his class for ENC1102 this upcoming semester. He makes learning fun and his grading rubric for papers is easy to understand.
Very cool guy. I missed maybe 3 or 4 times in my semester but did so strategically and never missed anything. Do not procrastinate! No matter what comp teacher you have, you will be writing essays. His are pretty easy but have rough drafts due throughout the semester so keep up with them. Calabrese is a nice, simple, and rather easy prof to have.
Everything is online, so you work at your own pace. His due dates for the course is final so do not procrastinate. Writing about literature may seem scary, but his essays are easy and he is open to questions about assignments. You are graded on discussions, 3 papers, quizzes, research paper, and a final. If you have a busy schedule, take Calabrese.
He's so nice and so funny. I love him he is fair and he is empathic
This a simple course but not super easy. He is fair with everyone. Do your work ahead of time to receive feedback if writing isn't your specialty. He is a great guy that really takes his teaching seriously but yet keeps it fun and innovative. He cares about his class so show that you care and you will be good.
He is super straight forward with his grading criteria, provides plenty of extra credit, grades very quickly, does not care about attendance, and gives hilarious lectures. My only complaint would be it's maybe too easy of an A.
Hes really understanding and gives extra credit. The class is fairly easy and hes extremely nice.
Calabrese is a super cool dude. Very simple and concise grading. Most of the grade is based off of 4 essays, 20 article reviews from the book, and class participation / attendance. Unbelievably easy as long as you keep up with the work. Would recommend to anyone looking for a breezy class (o:
Great professor, will help you out with the assignments and tell you what he specifically wants. The class is not easy there is a lot of work but if you keep up you have got an A. TURN EVERYTHING IN EARLY!
Great Professor. Definitely a class for a more extroverted individual. The assignments are simple and not time consuming. Just complete the work and you are ensured to pass the course.
Awesome professor. His assignments were fun and took up very little time. Class was amusing and we discussed very interesting topics. Would definitely recommend choosing him as your English professor. Turn in everything on time or earlier and an A will be your grade.
Great professor, would definitely recommend. Just turn things in early and you'll be fine .
Great professor. Would definitely take a class with him again.
Professor Calabrese is an amazing teacher, he is very clear about the assignments.
Calabrese is a great professor! I highly recommend taking him, its any easy A as long as youre on top of your assignments. Dont procrastinate like I did because you will be up for days trying to make it up. He assigns very unique assignments that really make you think and give ample extra credit opportunities. Not to mention, hes hilarious!
He is really good! Easy A, just have to work for it. Overall would take again
Professor calabrese is a well educated professor. he shows respect to all his students and respects everyone equally. his assignments are extremely easily as long as you do not procrastinate. This class should be an easy a. you may have a speech in the beginning of the year & a group presentation but he grades easily. I recommend taking him.
Easy class. Attendance is mandatory. Always do everything that is on the syllabus. He gives extra credit which is always a plus.
Do. Not. Procrastinate. Aside that, easy A, great professor. If I were to take another English class, it'd definitely be with him again.
Great Prof he's got a great sense of humor. Gotta stay on your game or else you will be bogged down in the end.
Hes lit. Take him!
I really like Professor Calabrese he's an amazing teacher I had him for Comp 1 and 2 his class is easy but there is a lot of homework he has a great sense of humor and he makes class fun I would definitely recommend taking him
Amazing
Very good professor.
Professor Calabrese is one of the nicest and coolest professors I have had. He is extremely nice, hilarious, and makes the class easy for everyone. For one to pass the class, you just have to attend all classes, complete all assignments and there are many extra credit opportunities as well. Only recommendation: dont procrastinate
About 5-8 papers expected. Be ready for a lot of printing and revising. Essay prompts are very interesting and Mr. Calabrese is very helpful on idea and thesis development. Make sure you finish rough drafts on time and revise throughout the semester. All major essay final drafts are due towards the end of the year.
Try to do assignments EARLY. assignments are easy but DONT procrastinate because its a lot of paper work. Good class and professor
Lots of very boring papers. Do them early or you will be overwhelmed. Classes are kinda boring.
BEST english professor out there. yes there are a couple long papers but he doesnt grade hard. Classes are mandatory but are pretty short if he gets through everything (he will). Super cool guy and nice, just do your papers early and you wont be overwhelmed!!!! Gives you specific guidelines but have to use your imagination on some papers.
I had this professor for Composition I and Composition II Literature and I LOVED both of his classes. He is a very fair grader and he provides all opportunities for you to get an A in the class if you do the work. Do not procrastinate in his class!
Really smart profesor, he was always prepared for every assignment, showing knowledge about the topics, the classes were very organized and easy to complete, and he gives opportunity of extra credit, very interesting!!
Don't wait until the last minute to complete assignments. Classes were boring and you pretty much figured things out on your own or asked classmates.
Great Professor with a very interesting style of teaching. Don't procrastinate and you'll get an A.
On the first day, he gives us a syllabus, and you should follow it. Don't procrastinate, if you do then you'll be in big trouble because it is a lot of work to due. There are 2 quick and easy presentations, two 500 words, 1000 words, and 2000 words essay. Although there are extra credit opportunities throughout the entire year.
not a lot of homework. gives work for enire course at once and lets you work on whatever you want.
He's a very good professor and I am now taking him again for comp 2. His grading procedures are weird but they help you strive more for an A.
THE BEST ENGLISH PROFESSOR IVE EVER HAD !! -Lets you know everything that's due at the very beginning of the semester so you have time to plan out your work and get ahead start -Gives multiple opportunities to resubmit your essays and do ec before the due date -Gives you amazing feedback, and wants to help you pass!
Would highly recommend this Professor. On the first day of class all assignments are made clear and the professor sticks to the schedule. A couple essays but major extra credit points. Would recommend attending class to be as informed as possible.
Great!
Plenty of extra opportunities and lots of ways to add up to an A. Can turn work in early and get graded to improve as many times as you want before the final due date for portfolio. Easy to ask questions, no tests, optional final, understandable grading system. You will have to self-motivate, and there are long-term assingments. 10/10 overall :)
The class is the easiest class I have taken I will be returning next spring , he does not grade hard .
Really great at explaining things. Hes a great Professor!
Professor Calabrese has to be one of my favorite teachers at FSW, his class is so incredibly fair, if you do your work diligently, it's impossible to fail. for ENC1101 this year, the attendance policy was rescinded, but I'm not sure if you guys will be so lucky, as it's 10 percent of your grade.
Professor Calabrese is a fantastic educator with a great deal of inspirational comments to help you succeed. If you do the work and follow his plan, youll be on the right track to success.
Great professor, his grading policy is advantageous to students who like to work ahead (you can turn in papers early). Take advantage of everything he provides from extra credit lyric reviews and turning in essays early so you won't have to take the final. Finally, don't procrastinate on essays. The later ones can be very long (Total of 4 essays).
Professor Calabrese is an easy-going teacher, who cares about his students. Since the first day of class, he made his grading policy very clear. He gives out a syllabus that includes the entire course schedule and due dates of every single assignment. As long as you don't procrastinate, you should easily get all your work completed on time.
As long as you do you part, you will be fine. Manage your time with the music video and reading journals since those take up a lot of time. Also, try to turn in revised and final drafts of any essays as soon as possible so you don't have to worry about them later. Overall, he's very chill, respectful, and funny as well.
Professor Calabrese was a really good preofessor. His syllabus was really helpful becasue it had the whole semester planned out and you can work ahead. There are many essays assigned and 2 presentations. He provides extra credit. Overall a great professor and really cares about his students!
Professor Calabrese is understanding as long as you show up to most classes. He really tries to listen to what you think. I would recommend taking his class but make sure to never get behind and turn your work in ahead of time.
Professor Calabrese was a great professor and if you are planning to take Composition 1 or 2, I would recommend him because he really connects with the students, gives extra credit, and teaches really well.
Professor Calabrese comp 1 class is a great class to take. His teaching style allows students to be free and creative in their writing. The best advice would be to start early on work and not to procrastinate till the end of the semester. If you wait till the end of the semester to turn in work it will be overwhelming.
Excellent instructor. Classes are a combination of fun with study.
He's a great professor, if you get things done on time you won't have any problems.
Amazing teacher. You do have to write a few papers throughout the semester but they are not super hard topics. He normally gives you a topic and you can find a section that you would like to write about. I would take him again, he is good at connecting with you and not being a rude snarky prof
Professor Calabrese is a very good teacher. There is a lot of writing, but it is not terribly difficult or overwhelming. He makes his expectations very clear from the beginning and takes feedback about his class very well.
Professor Calabrese is a really good professor, he has a clear grading criteria. He is always available to help and if you do all his work you will pass the class. There are no test during the semester only the final. He gives you plenty of time to do your homework. Everything is pretty straight forward. Don't procrastinate.
The professor made class super interactive and made our time useful.
Professor Calabrese is definitely one of the best professors I have had. His class is very laid back and entertaining. In the syllabus he writes out the what will happen and what will be due in each class for the entire semester so it helps you stay organized. Biggest tip: Do not procrastinate, it will affect you later on.
Professor Calabrese is one of many few teachers that doesnt act forced and miserable to be there, he genuinely cares about the success of his students and does a lot to help you if you need it. Theres like four essays and a couple short assignments but they are super spread out and all do at the end of the semester, just dont procrastinate!!
His class allows you to work at your own pace. His grading system is reversed, so you will start with a zero percent and work your way to an A by turning in assignments. The biggest grade will be your portfolio, which is a collection of essays and other papers that you have plenty of time to do. You wont do any learning at all. Just writing.
Professor Calabrese's course isn't an 'easy' class, but he structures his class very well. Everything is consistent, and nothing is unexpected or sprung upon you. He gives a syllabus at the beginning of the year that lists every homework and when it's due. It is really up to the student if they want to pass. If you want to pass, you will.
Classes are not boring and he's a nice guy and easy as long as you hand your work in on time.
Hes definitely one of the most flexible and caring professors i know. Youll feel very comfortable in his class , just dont procrastinate in his class and you should be fine .
A good combination of teaching students basic valuable skills, while also helping to plan the course very clearly along the way. Know exactly when everything is due, how many points they are worth, and how to get the most points on all of them. A very helpful, understanding, and task-oriented professor. Two thumbs up!
I love this professor. He is very clear when it comes to grading and his lessons make perfect sense.
The class has a grading structure that allows you to go at your own pace and get ahead if you like. Helps you become a better writer and points out things that you might not think of.
He was an awesome professor, genuinely someone who wants to help and helps, taking him again for comp 2
He's very organized, so you know what work you have to do before the end of the semester.
This class isnt hard as long as you do the work. Do not procrastinate because then everything will pile up and youll feel overwhelmed. He gives a lot of feed back and will help as long as you ask.
Professor Calabrese is a very caring guy. He will talk to you and make sure you understand what you need to do. Attendance was mandatory at first but halfway through the course, he took that way because people asked for it to not be mandatory anymore. He is a great teacher and I recommend taking him if you actually want to learn how to write.
He will try to help you, but when something is due there is no chance to turn with late penalties. You only can do extra credits. you can turn in essays ahead of time many times you want to get a good grade as long it is not due.
The assignments allow students to be free in what they write. You can go choose what you right about and use your opinions often.
Great guy and class is easy
DONT PROCRASTINATE FOR THE PORTFOLIO!!! Overall an amazing teacher! Best one Ive had at FSW by far for my dual enrollment experience.
Great personable guy who gives good feedback and great lectures. He lets you show up on days when there is an assignment due and won't take off points otherwise. Would recommend taking this professor.
Great guy that gives several chances and opportunities to succeed in the class. Would recommend taking ANY of his classes!
DONT PROCRASTINATE FOR THE PORTFOLIO!!! Overall an amazing teacher! Best one Ive had the best time in his class
STAY on top on your assignments! DO NOT leave them all for the end. You will find yourself very stressed if you do.
I enjoyed your teaching styles and group discussions. Overall great class on e this I believe i did not find beneficial were the music video reviews and journal responses.
Professor calabrese is a great composition profe. He layout the whole semester for you and lets you work ahead if you would like. Also gives very interesting lectures.
For a writing intensive course, this is your best bet. He gives plenty of extra credit opportunity. However, he is a pretty tough grader so make sure your papers always fit his criteria exactly.
Prof. Calabrese was my favorite teacher I had at FSW. It's an easy A if you do the work and he's awesome
Professor Calabrese was great. I had two of his classes from Fall 2019 to Spring 2020. He really built up to essays and made sure that we knew what we were doing. He taught MLA very well. Now that I am at a different college I am grateful for the head start that he gave me.
I really enjoyed this class. I took it in a Mini- B semester so it was fast paced but not extremely difficult. This online class involved summaries based on the readings. Make sure to pay attention to those and start them early so you don't get overwhelmed at the end of the semester. Professor was responsive, involved and I highly recommend him.
This class was SO hard. I don't get why everybody likes him. I barely passed.
Prof. Calabrese is a great professor and is really easy to work with. He provides quick responses to questions sent via email and holds flexible office hours as well. The assignment load is very low, with 1-2 assignments a week being the standard. Took him for English Comp 1 and passed with a 100%!
Super cool professor. He is pretty strict with due dates but I get why. He sends out weekly videos with very useful information. He also has days throughout the week where you can connect with him on zoom and ask questions. Very easy to get ahold of, grades VERY fairly, and always gives great feedback.
Prof Calabrese was great. I would definitely take this course again. Get ready to write many summaries and about 6-7 pages essay! very easy class, as long as you put the time into it. Very time consuming, but not hard. Prof Calabrese always gives feed backs and comments on the assignments. He also sends reminders every day!
His expectations are clear and considering other professors hes very lenient. His grading system is different but understandable, do his work and youll pass. He gives enough time to do assignments and ask any questions about them before their due date. This class isnt a big worry just put in the work.
Honestly one of the best. All assignments were opened up after due date for people to turn in for full credit. Attendance isn't mandatory but lectures are usually fun and educational about the topic. Not a dull moment in his class.
He is one of the best profs I've ever had, He is very caring and actually wants to help. I took him online and his instructions were very clear and understandable. He responds to his emails. I wish I could take him for all of my ENC classes.
One of the easiest classes but if you have a depressive episode and fall behind, kiss your grade goodbye. He was not understanding at all when it came to my situation but he is such a lenient grader that you can revive your grade once you get on prozac. Also his lectures are useless but he does random assignments during class so go to class
Everything is due the same day. Going to class was useless. For the final, he made us answer 20 questions with min 2 para, just for him to grade only 4 of the 20 qns. Days before the end of the semester, he reminded us of a 40-para-assig that he only spoke about it the first day. The work was ez but class set up is for failure, most students fail.
I would recommend this professor to anyone who is efficient in time management. His class is very simple but slightly time consuming. Attendance is mandatory but can be made up through extra credit. The syllabus for the course was extremely thorough on deadlines, class work, all assignments for the course, and what he expected of each.
I have much respect for this professor I like that he's very organized and the syllabus he hands out the first day of the semester has everything about the class and answers all your questions you have. I have 2 more months for the semester to end but I found his class pretty easy and not hard to manage just don't forget the due dates
This was one of the best professors I have ever taken. He made class extremely enjoyable and although he is strict when it comes to deadlines, he cares about all his students and wants everyone to succeed. His class is very easy, I don't think I have every learned so much from a professor. I would definitely recommend this class! :)
I took Mr. Calabrese for both ENC 1101 and 1102, he was by far one of the best teachers I have ever taken. He is super strict on the deadlines, but gives ample amounts of time to finish each assignment. He was very kind and lighthearted and tried to make his class as interesting as possible. If you try you will pass
Professor Calabrese is super organized and makes the course easy to manage. The syllabus has all the details, and his instructions are clear. I found unstuck AI and ChatGPT really helpful for preparing. Overall, a great class!
If you like to work at your own pace, take his classes. You can turn in your essays throughout the semester, and if you turn them in before the due date and you have errors, he allows you to fix them with infinite tries. Attendance is also a grade and mandatory. I had him for Comp 1 and just finished Comp 2 so I recommend it.
He's enthusiastic about literature, he gives actual feedback on discussion posts. He has one deadline for 4 essays+ and lets you know at the beginning of the course, so please please DO NOTTTT PROCRASINATE! He offers extra credit so take advantage!!!!!!!!!!! Overall, his class was fun and lemme just say: I've had enough Bob Dylan for a lifetime.
Best professor Ive ever had. Super funny and was creative with the assignments and didn't grade assignments harshly. If your taking comp 2 choose him he is awesome and you will pass as long as you go to class and do majority work.
Show up to class, turn in assignments early rather than later, and do the extra credit! Everything you need to know is in the syllabus! Overall, an easy class.
Professor Calabrese is great. His class was fairly easy and fun. Just make sure to do the extra credit and don't wait like I did to turn in essays, finish them early. If you do the extra credit and stay on top of assignments, you might not even need to take the final. Don't leave the reading journal for the last minute, you'll regret it.
If you need to take a comp class take Professor Calabrese. I love his class he makes composition easy and understandable. He finds creative ways to make us write where we actually enjoy it. His class is based on points and are end there's a total of 110 points which makes the final optional. He also gives good feedback and is ready to help.
he chill ngl
The class is very straightforward and the professor is hilarious. The workload isn't hard and doesn't take much time. I enjoyed it enough to take him again next semester. If you can do the work that's given to you to do then you should be set.
