In my opinion Daida is amazing, he tries very hard to set you up so that you figure out everything rather than he tell you the answers. This class is A LOT of work. Be sure to talk to people who passed this course and were happy about it - they are probably the best source of information and advice.

Daida made an easily boring subj. interesting to learn. He let us know that answers would not be fed to us, which was OK given that we could do almost everything with a partner, but those with no programming experience had to work extra hard to learn the material. Concern:HW handed back late or not at all. Despite this,I recommend taking the class.

At first, his class was the worst thing ever. It was very challenging and I never thought I would pass. Looking back on it now, I learned so much and it really was a great class. Daida really knows what he's talking about. He is also a good resource when studying for the exams, to look over papers, etc.

He's an amazing teacher, the stuff he teaches will stick with you forever. But BE WARNED, he is very difficult. The reason his class is so hard is because he tries to show you how you cannot assume anything with your design/strategy, and that even the best plan can fail cuz of a small problem. And he teaches you by experience. And your grade.

Great freshman class! It was one of the most difficult classes I have ever taken, but it taught me so much. He wants you to learn a new way of thinking. One of the things that really impressed me was that he knew everyone's name and he was really approachable. He doesn't always answer questions directly, he wants you to find it out on your own.

AMAZING!!!!!!! I loved this class so much. A lot of people hate or resent Daida because he definitely has a different teaching style, but imo his class was really cool and I learned a lot just about how to think. Thats the biggest thing you can get out of this class, is how to think like an engineer. definitely an excellent professor.

Very good class taught by a very good man/teacher/engineer. It is definitely a hard class, perhaps one of the most time-consuming classes you'll ever take, but it is worth every minute of it. The class does a great job in preparing you to think and act like an engineer. I definitely recommend Dr. Daida to any student taking ENGR 100.

As everyone else has said, the class is a lot of work. Everything taught by Daida is common sense. Unfortunately this is not helpful to anyone that actually has any common sense because it will require you to change your thought process for problem solving. Daida is full of himself, don't mistake that for intelligence. I did enjoy Hildinger though.
