Hes a very good teacher.

Great teacher, willing to help. Went through lessons at a comfortable speed
Great teaCHER ..He is extremely helpful ..he makes sure you understand the material before moving onto something else i enjoyed his class
He's definitely a good teacher. He explains things well and takes the class at a comfortable kind. Usually have a test once a week, but if you keep up with the homework and ask questions you will be fine.
He's always willing to help. And he's nice about it, unlike some. If you pay attention, actually come to class, and ask questions, you'll do fine. Especially since's there's usually a test a week.
If you are going to take calculus, take this guy, he explains calculus in a clear manner and makes it very understandable because of his teaching style I was able to get a b+ in this class
He is a great teacher and a great person. He makes sure everyone in the class undertands the topic before he moves to the next one. All the questions on the tests/quizzes are all taken from the homework he assigns ( which he doens't check).
VERY HELLPFUL is always there to help out
Very knowledgable teacher, and by far the best math teacher I have had. He goes through the material clearly and makes sure everyone understands it. It is up to you to do the homework but it will help you a lot on the tests, which are not too hard to begin with.
Eltrevoog is a great teacher. He is very helpful. He goes over tons of examples and everyday before class he anwers any questions from the homework and does them on the board. His tests are based exactly on the homework. If you pay attention in class and do all of the homework, the class should be easy for you.
Great Teacher. First math teacher I ever had where I actually retained information. Just show up, take notes and you will do just fine.
Hes a really good teacher, but his class was based off of tests. There were no other grades taken besides the tests and the final. If you're a bad test taker, do not take him.
The summer course is VERY fast-paced, and it's difficult to keep up with the homework (but he doesn't grade it). If you pay attention, take notes, and ask questions, you'll do well. Plan on not missing any classes, though - it's hard to keep up if you miss a day.
LOVE LOBE LOVE HIM! I have never really done great in ,Math but Mr. E changed this!!! Go to class, take notes, n study you will do well.
great teachr very helpful !st time Iever took algebra he made it fun
Mr. E's teachings are crystal clear. In high school i never understood anything but with him is as if i were learning addition. He does not do homework so studying for the test is a must in order to get a good grade.
Best math teacher I have ever taken. He explains things so simply, but in every aspect so that everyone could understand, including common mistakes people make. Math is my worst subject, and I looked forward to this class every day during summer. HIGHLY recommend for anyone, especially if math isn't your forte!
I can't even start describing how wonderful Mr. E is. He is the most amazing teacher I ever had. I hated math before Mr. E. He made me realize math was not horrible. Horrible were the teachers I had before him. Mr. E. was able to make me like math... something I tought it was impossible. You rock, Mr. E.
I attended class everyday. Mr E. even let me have a few extra min. for a test I was taking. He has these handouts for each section. There are the bomb! He seems to know who in the class is there to learn and who is not. He also showed me that I myself am responsible for MY grade. If I do the homework(thats not graded) I will pass the tests. Best!!
Great Math teacher! Not good at Math but still got an A in this class. He takes his time teaching and makes sure you understand a topic before moving on. Very helpful if you ask. Never bought a book, just took good notes! Definately would tell a friend or family member to take his class!
Mr. E is a FANTASTIC teacher! He takes time with every question and is very patient! He is how a math teacher should be! I have never liked math until this class where everything seemed to click! He throws out your lowest grade too, so that's a plus! Take Eltrevoog, he's awesome! I'm moving on to 094 with him after 090!
Go to class everyday. He is a great teacher and knows what he is doing. He is very well organized and loves his job. He explains everything as though he was teaching a preschooler and if you need help he will help you. Got a B but still advise him.
Failed the class because of my own fault. He did nothing wrong; He really knows what he's doing, and he's always ready to answer any questions. He does a great job explaining examples. Tests and quizzes come straight from the book. He's most definitely not a robot like some math teachers.
He was very negative. I went in to talk to him because I was failing and was very discouraging about the fact that I probably wouldn't have it in me to pass. It was very upsetting because I have a lot of determination I just needed extra help. I ended up passing no thanks to him.
He is an example of what a college professor should be. His notes are given in an organized way with plenty of examples and is very clear about what must be known for exams. Always has tests entered and graded by the next class day and goes above and beyond to ensure all students understand the material. Always available for extra help. TAKE HIM!
Attendance not mandatory but recommended. Book is used heavily. HW assigned but not graded. Answers questions before lecturing. Tough grader but gives partial credit. 4 Tests, 8 Quizzes, lowest quiz dropped, lowest test replaced with final grade if higher. Had a positive attitude. Too bad he's not teaching Calc 170 next sem. I Would take again.
Professor E is the man! I am math illiterate; learn one day, gone the next and I passed. I had to work hard for it, but Prof. E made everything cyrstal clear. He has a good sense of humor, expects you to ask questions if you don't know, and will absolutely help in any way he can. Just show up to class, take notes, and participate - you'll be fine.
Good teacher. Class was a bit difficult and there was weekly homework but you need the homework to learn the material.
Very good professor. Tests and quizes are based on the homework. He is very easy to understand and he makes sure you understand the material. I would recomend taking his class.
Took his math 094 class during the summer and might I add that it is very fast pace and we move from section to section very quickly, but Mr. E makes sure everyone has a pretty good understanding before he moves on! Definitely take him if you have any math classes to take! He is very polite and funny and class is never boring! :)
Even though the I took a summer class and it was compact, Mr. E explained all sections very well and never moved on without making sure everyone was in understanding of that section. Love to have him again for math 098 when I am ready!!!For now going to enjoy the rest of my summer with my Husband and KIDS!!! Have a great summer Mr. E! YOUR THE BEST
Mr. Eltrevoog is an awesome Math teacher! Very detailed explanations. Go to class. Do the homework.. Easy A.
He is a super friendly guy who is willing to help anyone if you ask. Notes were extremely clear and he really explained calculus well. I must say though, homework is not counted but you must do it to do good on quizzes and tests. Overall a really great professor!!
He's a great teacher who takes the time to explain everything thoroughly. He gives you a chance to go home and do homework then come back the next class to ask questions. He gives unlimited chances to do homework so there is no reason to not get 100% in homework.
He was a good teacher. If you have a question he'll do it on the board to make sure you understand.
Awesome Prof! I will deff be taking him for 098. He is extremely helpful if you are beyond confused. Actually cares about his students. Will go out of his way to be sure you know and get info that you need. Show up, do work. pass class.
Great professor! Took his 094 as a summer class. Was very detailed on how to work out the problems. Loved his teaching style and was crystal clear on everything. He gave homework and if you missed a deadline, all you had to do was talk to him about it and he'd give you the chance to finish it. Hopefully I will be taking him for 098 and any others.
Great teacher! Is willing to help and is easy to understand. Would recommend.
TAKE HIM FOR CALC! He's the best. I got a 97. He drops the lowest quiz and replaces your lowest test with your final if you do good on the final. So easy to get a good grade. And you'll actually learn the material if you're advancing in the math sequence. Don't even think about taking anyone else. I would take him a million times. Easily the best.
The best! Very helpful & clear as day. He goes over every little detail you slept through in high school. He cares and seems to take great joy and pride in his teaching. Your grade is worked for and is definitely possible to reach. Very kind and not the least bit condesending which makes it very comforatable with any questions.
He was excellent. There is nothing more to say and if you try hard he will recognize that. Make sure you study and you will do great on the tests. Also doing homework will raise your grade. Its generally easy to do.
Mr. E is seriously the BEST math teacher EVER. I have never been good at math, and he has been the only professor that will do anything he can so you can understand the material. He does not mind spending two days on material that the class feels they need more help on. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them all to pass.
IF YOU ARE A HANDS ON LEARNER DON'T MISS THIS CLASS. HOMEWORK IS DONE IN MY MATH LAB IF SECTIONS ARE TOUCH HE WILL EXTEND THE DUE DATE. DON'T MISS CLASS MISS A LITTLE MISS A LOT. HE DROPS THE LOWEST TEST GRADE AND THE FINAL IS ONLY 20% OF YOUR GRADE. I RECOMMEND TAKING THIS TEACHER IF MATH ISN'T YOUR BEST SUBJECT. HIS CLASSES FILL UP FAST!
This class was super simple. He takes out your worst grade in tests and for My Math Lab he uses that overall grade and puts it in as test grade. Get a 100 on all the homework (which is all online) and you have a free 100 on a test. He is very clear and informative when he explains the problems on the board and will answer any questions you have.
Mr. E is great! Pretty sure I'll be getting an A! Never had an A in math in my life. Test scores are your only grades and homework is optional - but if you don't put in the time, you probably won't do well. He's always available for help and doesn't make you feel stupid or embarrassed for asking a question. I'll be taking him for all my math!
I took him for a summer class. He is very nice and a very good teacher. He uses my math lab so if you do not like doing homework online then don't take the class.
He is very clear in what you need to know and what past math skills you'll need to brush up on in order to understand so for tests. Good for students who don't understand math easily. Gives homework but not graded. You'll need to do it to pass and it's the only time you'll use your book. I'm excited to take him again for calculus!
Explains material well and is willing to help. It's a lot of work. I got 3 100s on his quizzes but got Bs and Cs on tests. Buy the solution manual for the book. I dreaded this class bc of the content and time, 7:25am, but he made it worth it. One of the best professors I've had!
Tests do not cover what you spend most of class time covering. Very difficult tests because you study what you assume is on the test considering it's what you spent the most time learning in class but the tests include material that was HARDLY covered. Very long awkward pauses during lectures to fill class time. Will not take ever again.
he has to be the best math teacher that i have ever had i had a B in the class. I have literally NEVER passed a math class in high school . take him !! he makes math sound easy
Professor Eltrevoog is probably the best math teacher you could ever possibly take. But he makes you work for it. His notes are so easy compared to the hw for the most part which doesn't help. Tests are SO HARD even if you study.
I love Jason! He is a great teacher! I so wish I could take him for every math class. If you do the work and show that you care to learn he will help you and pass you. I enjoyed coming to this class because of him. Don't be afraid to ask questions, he doesn't make you feel bad or stupid. Such a nice guy!!
I went by this sites rating of him when choosing him, however, he is not clear to students who struggle at math. With a few weeks to go, almost half the class has dropped or failed out. We won't cover some material for a month, and he will be surprised we don't remember those 2 examples we did in class. He is nice, but oblivious to teaching.
I would have to say he is the best teacher at JJC. beginning of class answers questions pertaining to hw that he assigns, and goes through it step by step. you have to do hw and come to class or you will be lost. He makes math so easy to understand. I would take him again if i could, don't think about taking anyone else.
He is a great teacher. the content is hard though so dont expect it to be an easy class. i struggle with math and i ended up with a decent grade. if you need someone who will actually go over your problems he is the one to get. also you need to go to class if you dont you will be lost.
His notes are pretty clear. Although his tests are very hard. Nothing compared to the homework or notes. And he's a tough grader. Exams are your only grade in this class.
He is a great teacher. You must show up to class to understand the material. He gives you time for the homework, and makes sure you understand when it due. The test always had extra credit offered. He will help you through the class if you ask him. Definitely recommend, and would certainly take one of his classes again.
I've always struggled with math in high school (C's & D's), but this teacher changed all that! I actually was able to understand math the way he taught it! He made is easy to understand, would actually take time to show students how and why it's done a certain way. He's not like most teachers who make math boring, his attitude makes math enjoyable!
This is THE best math teacher I have had. I had to drop calc the previous semester bc the teacher wasn't good and material is tough. But he explains things well and in different ways if you don't understand the first explanation. Homework is key. Always gives the easier problems on the test than the homework. He's funny and cares about his students.
I had to drop calculus previously and took it again with Professor Eltrevoog, he is amazing! He explains math in a way that makes you understand it. Calculus is not an easy class but if you do the homework and listen during class you will definitely pass. If Eltrevoog taught all the math sequences at JJC, i would take them all with him.
Mr. Eltrevoog is not the greatest teacher, not even the slightest bit of what you'd call a respectable teacher. By no means am I a Mathematician, but in all honesty I'd never even consider taking his class again. If you miss a test and or suffering from an illness. He will not change his schedule in order for you to make it up.
He is super helpful and explains the content really well. He is super funny and has no problem talking about other topics. Homework is online and all together is a test grade at the end, and you have a test each section, 5 test, and 1 final. Its really easy if you pay attention and do the homework. The beginning sections are literally *,/,+. and _.
Good teacher, clear grading criteria, I would take another one of his classes again.
I did not enjoy this class at all. He is hard to get along with and understand. I would not take this professor again as long as I am here.
Really hard test grader. Gives you no credit/points for the homework assignments you do. Gets EASILY annoyed when you don't understand something. Overall I wouldn't take him again.
He is very good at helping work through problems.
Professor Eltrevoog is a really good teacher, I would totally take him again but I am transferring. He is good at explaining and will work with you with any questions that you have. I wish that the class were longer, not sure if he teaches in a slow pace but people in my class did ask a lot of questions. Overall god choice, can not go wrong!
Took the time to explain material in detail, i have a much better understanding of the mathematics taught due to his teaching style. Highly suggest signing up for one of his classes.
Awesome teacher definitely one of the best I have had for math, will not hesitate to answer questions about anything math related even if you should have learned it in a previous class. Very patient and very awake for morning classes. Tests are pretty difficult of you don't do the homework, and you do make good progress during class so don't skip.
Good teacher and I think he looks like Macaulay Culkin.
Eltrevoog is an amazing teacher and provides you with all the information you need to know to understand what you're learning, and to do well on the test. The class is what you make it. So if you pay attention, participate, and do practice problems you will do well. And if you don't do any of those things your grade will reflect it.
From what I remember, He was a really approachable guy and seemed to enjoy what he did. And that enough made it enjoyable ESPECIALLY FOR BEING A MATH CLASS.
He was a very straight forward professor, very clear on expectations, no homework, test are a bit difficult but if you participate and ask questions you will pass.
I struggle in math and I loved Mr. E's way of teaching. He makes you work for your grade but is vey understanding and kind.
Honestly one of the better professors I had the pleasure to work with thus far. Yes you are expected to work but the work is not much at all. With HW given online and learning in class with the exception of tests, that is about all you will be graded on. Be sure to participate and ask questions along with focusing in class. I do highly recommend!
I don't reccommend Eltrevoog. Homework must be completed on My Math Lab with a 70 or better by the due date before you can take each section test. Does not give extentions on taking a test. He stated if you can't get atleast a 70 on each homework you need to drop. Extremely limited office hours. Math is my hardest subject but he is not helpful
Lectures are easy to understand, does not collect homework, if you do it: easy A
Good teacher but tough class
He is a wonderful teacher.
Great teacher who cares about students understanding material. Complete the homework, ask questions, and show up to class and there should be no problem getting at least a B.
This was the first math class I never fell asleep in. This teacher actually taught me something and made sure everybody was learning at a pace we could all follow. By far the best math teacher I have ever had.
great professor. easy to understand lecture. homework is not collected but it will give you a better grade. put in the work easy A
I absolutely love Mr. Eltrovoog. He is such a great teacher and really knows what he's doing. He takes time to teach everything and to make sure it is understood by everyone. If you have questions, ASK- he gives you so much time to ask and encourages it!! Really great professor.
This is the first time I have taken a math class and come out understanding the material from front to back. He explains the material slowly, in depth, even slowing down if you don't quite understand it. My only criticism is that he does not teach calc 2.
A good teacher but if math is not your best subject, then I don't recommend. He doesn't give credit for homework but if you don't do it then you won't do well on tests. There are no quizzes either, so your grade in the class is based solely on test grades. His tests are never multiple choice. Come prepared to every class with homework questions.
I took Mr.E for both 090 and 094. I liked his teaching style, the issue I had was the test. He makes you use mymathlab for 094, which I personally was not fond of. The class is very test heavy. I liked him as a person, and I feel like if I was a math person I would like him more.
Prof. E is incredible! I struggled with math in high school and through some hard work and great direction by Prof. E, I made a huge turn around. You definitely have to work in his class and come with questions. He will in no way yank questions or progress reports from his students, its up to the individual. Highly recommend.
I attended his 094 class last semester and it was one of my best classes. He has online homework on MyMathLab and a couple of in class tests. My advice is to not miss the days before the test because he takes the whole classes or partial class to allow you to ask questions and go over problems that you do not understand.
One of the greatest Calculus professors i have encountered in my college experience. Professor Eltevoog is the real deal, although i have got a C in his class because i needed to put more effort for such important class. He teaches the material with fascinating enthusiasm and he understands and analyze each and every bit of it. I recommend takin
If you work full time, this class may not be for you since you do have to dedicate a good portion of time to do HW bc your grade only depends on exams. Good teacher, drops your lowest exam score prior to the midterm/final. Word of advice dont wait to study the day before an exam, study days in advance. Also, dont miss class he covers a lot!
He will help out any student. He teaches in a way to make sure everyone understands that material. explains very clearly. strict about due dates for homework. Great math teacher 100% recommended
Professor E is a very solid choice for Calculus I. The homework is not collected but if you complete all of it there will be no confusion as to what might appear on the Exam. Often you will even see problems right out of the book on an exam. If your algebra skills arent terrific, you will improve big time over the course of the class. only con: 7am
Awesome teacher! I'm so not a math person at all. He made math come alive for me. He has a passion for math and teaching and it shows. He was truly inspirational. He provides you with the tools to succeed. No surprises he is very clear cut. He really cares about his students and always available to help. He will go over the material again.
He was a great Professor. Even though there are a lot of homework questions, it is worth it. He makes sure to go over the tough homework problems every day. He is very helpful outside the class. I received an A overall in my Calc 170 class. I would definitely take him again.
Hands down the best math professor I ever had. Tried taking him for 098 but he wasn't available the following semester. The lectures were to the point and easy to follow. He was very funny and cared for his students!
best math professor I've taken at jjc, will take it nice and slow if you do not understand the material, awesome at answering email when help is needed, will send you a copy of the notes you took in class if you were not able to attend. WOULD TAKE AGAIN IN A HEART BEAT!!!
One of the best Mathematics teachers you will get. Very strait forward with his expectations and curriculum. It is NOT hard to pay attention and even with originally believing I was terrible in math, I managed to ace his class. Would take him again when possible.
Great Professor, really knows his stuff and how to convey it to the minds of his students. Very test and homework heavy, but gives you plenty of time.
I don't know if its because of COVID and were online or just every math teacher at JJC sucks but he just uploaded notes/ videos (that aren't even his) and we teach ourselves. We take test on sum website that HE doesn't even grades the computer does. So what do math teachers even do?? If you get 2 questions wrong on the test your already at a B :
never hated math until this class... I understand we are in a pandemic but this teacher should not be allowed to teach an online class. Would not recommend this teacher at all even if hes the last option...
Took him spring semester of 2020. Before everything went online I had a 89 in the class. He is GREAT in person but online he doesnt care for his students. Gets passive when you question him. He didnt even teach the class, he took someone elses lecture vids. I learned nothing that semester
literally taught myself. This teacher was no help and I never felt prepared for the tests. The test questions are way harder than what we are given to practice. He doesn't curve the test or give extra credit which most math teacher do. Would've been nice since were forced to take it online. Doesnt grade hw so u HAVE to get every ? right on test
This guy is absolutely awful for online classes. He uses lecture videos that are not his and you will not get a single lesson taught to you by him. You will feel ill prepared for 90% of the work you have to do. Your time spent with him is greatly reduced compared to the in person time U would have gotten. Absolute waste of money. YouTube education
Tough grader , requires you to do full work, even simple work which is not necessary like adding 2+2. He expects you to write it out. Overall i don't recommend him not a good teacher his work ethic is not good !
Although the class was online he was very helpful. He answered emails right away and always made sure to answer your questions during the meeting times. He is super helpful but like any class you have to put the work in. As long as you try and ask questions youll be fine.
Really nice guy who is dedicated to helping his students. His email is always open and he responds very quickly, also holds 2 teams meetings a week for answering any questions you may have. I decided to take his math 094 next semester because he's very helpful and I learned a lot in his class.
Youtube education, if you expect a lecture every week, look elsewhere because this is not the place to be. To make matters even worse for the student, he makes use of a much flawed proctoring system.
He does not really teach any lessons. The lecture videos he uses aren't even his so his expectations are different from the other professor's video. He also says he likes to base everything off the book but the videos/notes are not from the book. There are three different ways to do things and one is acceptable in his eyes. Bad proctoring system.
Indiffenrent towards the student. Places some random videos that are at time not even helpful for the homework and still expects your work to be flawless.
I had high hopes coming into this class as there were a lot of good reviews pre-covid. Now, I do not recommend him at all for online courses. He seems to be lazy giving us lecture videos that don't necessarily demonstrate a good portion of the problems on the test that are taken by someone else 7 years ago. Very disappointed in his professionalism
The averages for almost every test were between the 50's-60's. He simply encouraged me to drop the course and he does not give his own lectures. You get points taken off of exams if you don't show work for graphing calculator problems on paper??? Uses a proctor system that's confusing. Does not give points for guessing. Nice guy but bad teacher.
Very condescending and careless about his students. His lectures aren't his and are more confusing than helpful. The averages for tests are very low since he doesn't prepare his students and takes off as much points as possible. Overall do no take this dude ever literally the worst professor I've ever had.
No matter how much you prepare with the given materials you will always feel ill prepared for the tests. They are much much harder than the homework and use a terrible proctor software. You need to show work on the tests and he seems to want to take off as much points as possible. If your forced taking this guy I truly feel for you.
I suck at math and taking this online sucks he was there to help you by appointment or you could wait till 1 of his twice-weekly teams calls. He's a tough grader on your scratch work so make sure to be detailed, he will take points off for that. if we were in person I do feel that I would have learned better/more and prob would have gotten a B or A
He was an amazing professor. Very easy to talk to when you need help. Attached lecture videos to the homework to make it easy on the students to find them. If it wasn't for my physics class I would have passed. Highly recommend choosing him as your professor.
The man doesnt trust his students and doesnt read properly message that are being sent to him would not take any classes from him
He is a fantastic professor. I took Calc 170 with him as my first in-person math class after covid, and it went great. His class is structured with the assumption that you attend every day. There is kind of a lot of homework, but 90% isn't graded. The test questions are based off of the homework questions, so doing the homework is a good idea.
The grade is 90% tests and 10% homework, with 7 tests and 7 homework assignments in the semester. If you go to class, do the homework, and ask questions, you'll pass. I took calc in high school and was hopelessly lost the entire time. After taking his class, I feel so much more confident. I can't recommend him enough.
I took Professor Eltrevoog a few semesters back and I am now in diff EQ with a thorough understanding of calculus due to my time in calc 1 with this professor. He is fair in everything he does. The class takes effort, however, it is well worth the investment.
PLEASE watch the videos attached to the homework & take notes, they're EXTREMELY useful & u can earn an easy 100% for each homework assignment from doing so. I put them on 2x speed w captions & take notes. Tests in-person after every 3 homework assignments (every 2 weeks or so) just repeat your hw assignments or study your notes & you'll do fine
the class itself is very easy but he is a horrible teacher. makes it almost impossible to pass. doesn't allow make ups.
I took the hybrid course and the assignments we had were on math lab with no lecture or videos supporting the material. The practice test was similar to the in person exam, but you really need to understand the concept to actually pass.
This professor is quite amazing. Really smart guy and definitely knows his stuff in the math field. I do not believe he deserves the low reviews that some people gave him. He is definitely one of the best math professors I've had and highly recommend him to be your professor.
Professor Eltrevoog did a great job of teaching the thought process behind Calculus topics and making sure everyone was up to speed. He allows ample time for asking questions from the homework. There is little homework you have to turn in, so grade relies heavily on tests, which are not too tough. He is very easy to reach and funny. 100% recommend
Good professor overall. He was always ready for questions and would explain thoroughly so you had a complete understanding
Eltrevoog is an amazing professor, and I'm glad I took him for my introduction to calculus. He explains the topics introduced in his lectures thoroughly, and will answer any questions on the practice homework students have. He's also great in his office hours. Would definitely recommend anyone who is going into calc to take Eltrevoog!
Hybrid class, which I suppose is an inherently difficult way to teach algebra. While much of what we did in class was inquire about problems from the homework, he did an excellent job at it. Amiable but strict. 80% test, 20% homework which is still necessary if you want to pass the tests.
Professor was great at explaining the topics and helping us understand. His tests were laid out nicely and reflected the homework very well. As long as you do the assignments/homework he gives, you will pass.
The class relies heavily on the teacher from a 3rd party resource. Sometimes the lectures don't always go over what's in the homework, leaving you frustrated. On top of that the class moves fast in the summer so tutoring is not a simple option for those with busy schedules. Math tests are also proctored on campus and you can't rely on notes.
Terrible "teacher" . The tests are graded unfairly, he removes as many points as he possibly can. Late HW is 50% max per question. The video lectures that aren't even him explain things one way and he expects them done his way somehow. I would not recommend this guy to anyone
It is a mistake to take this class online. Not only are you on your own, but the material provided will not prepare you for tests. The tests are given within a few days of completing the chapter. By far the worst math class I have ever participated in. What a waste of time and money. Perhaps he is better taken in person, but online is just a joke
The teacher applies no effort of his own in a class that requires the teacher to help students. This class is not meant for online. The lectures provided miss important test subjects and homework subjects. This class is better taken in person and with actual help and lectures. Do not waste your time and money doing it online.

The teacher was detailed when answering questions & ensured the students asking questions understood. He was attentive to questions, responsive through email, & overall a great instructor. This was a summer course, so it was very fast-paced but the teacher made that clear. He does not lack effort, but the students leaving false reviews certainly do
I don't recommend taking the online course. You're on your own. There's no chance to bring your grades up if you do bad on a test, only homework. Even that isn't submitted to the grade book til the very end of the course. The lectures leave out valuable info, and zero notes are allowed despite all of the formulas. I will be dropping the course.
Professor Eltrevoog has a unique teaching style, but if you engage with it, the class can be manageable. The tests are challenging, so using Unstuck study and the textbook is crucial for prep. Overall, a tough but rewarding course.
This is one of the best Math professors I had the pleasure of being taught under. He cares about your grades and he is responsive. He is a nice teacher and you should study under him.
He's a nice teacher and very attentive! He will respond to all your questions and emails in a timely manner. Take this professor in person whenever possible and you will be guaranteed to pass!
Not sure when he stopped teaching his own classes. He uses what he calls a reverse lecture. You teach yourself from YouTube and prepared notes that go along with the videos and ask questions. The homework is a bit difficult since most of it comes from the book so read your book and see a tutor. Should be called self guided not hybrid w lecture
This course is hybrid, and your lecture notes consist of links to youtube videos for the topics combined with even more in-depth homework utilizing the eBook. I highly recommend fully completing each homework assignment and going through them a couple of times to prepare for exams, along with notes. I would certainly take this professor again.
Great professor, probably one of the smartest professors I've had and an amazing teacher. Only thing is, I just don't really like his curriculum. It consists of 8 tests and no quizzes. While this is more forgiving for exams, it requires a more rigorous consistency because you have an exam every other week. I also hated the flipped class idea.
I took online trig and calc 1. His courses are test heavy and most of your grade will come from exams. Do the homework and watch the lecture videos (youtube videos from another teacher) and you'll do fine. He's a hard grader, I've gotten marked off on correct answers for things I disagree with, but he picks the easier questions from the sections.
Im only giving him a 2 because he's nice . Other than that he is a horrible teacher. He does not post his own lectures. He relies on Pearson to teach his students how to do math problems. The homework can be alot of you don't do it throughout the week but it's not bad. You have to pass your tests in order to pass the class. Do not recommend online.
