4 tests and that's all of your grades. Powerpoints are not very good, if you don't read the textbook you won't pass. The tests are very difficult. If you think you got a B on the test, you probably got a C or lower. I would not take this professor again. 10/10 would NOT take again.
Dr. Epstein has a hit or miss type of lecture. Sometimes they are good, and most of the time they are not the best. Although he does recaps which are good, sometimes he rambles a bit too much about other things and runs out of time. I find it annoying that he doesn't post his slides online, so for those who take notes before classes, beware.
Epstein is a great professor. The tests mainly revolve around applying concepts you learn to real-life examples. Since he is a lawyer, he brings a lot of expertise and those real-life examples to the table, which helps you understand for the exam. He doesn't post his slides, but he posts his lecture so attendance isn't mandatory. Highly recommend!
This class is not a skate by class. You will have to work for every point. That being said, it's a great course that will challenge every brain cell. He will meet with you during office hours to go over the material and look over your test. To do well, participate, ask questions, and BE PRESENT for lectures. You can't wait last minute to study.
Professor Epstein is one of the few LEGL 2700 professors available at UGA. Take somebody else if you get the opportunity; please. I taught myself the entirety of this course using the book. Your grade is based on ONLY four exams (he drops one), and you have no outside resources to help you succeed. At all. I don't know why he has great reviews.
This class is pretty easy if you read the assigned text and watch the lectures. I always read the chapters beforehand so that during the lectures I could just take a few additional notes and narrow down what I need to focus on. If you study and pay attention everything is really straightforward on the test.
I think Epstein is a fine professor. He adds a lot of real-world examples to his lectures, which can be helpful. I took LEGL online so it was not very interactive. He is not very helpful with test prep, and the tests are very application-based, which is a little difficult to get used to at first. If you take Epstein, get the book to help study.
He cares so much about his students and the material. LEGL itself is quite difficult, but he does a good job applying almost everything to the real world. It is a hard class no doubt, you have to try, but he does his best and is passionate about what he teaches. Thank you for an excellent semester!
The class content itself is not horrible but there are better professor to take this class with at UGA. The final is cumulative. The only thing you have to study is the book and the recorded lectures he posts (no power points posted). You will have to put in lots of effort to get a good grade but he will give EC for participation (not much).
people will complain because the content isn't super interesting but it's an easy class. memorize the content and you'll do fine. I didn't attend the zooms, but I always watched the lectures and took notes afterwards and got an A. your grade relies on four tests, so don't mess around. honestly, he's a great professor and I enjoyed having him!
epstein is a great teacher! he knew a lot about the content and his lectures were okay to watch. if someone had a question, he would assign himself homework to go and find the answer. he's a super proactive professor if you make the effort. people hate because there's only four tests but just watch the lectures. he dropped a test this semester
Professor Epstein is super cool and a great professor. He was a great professor and is super flexible and always willing to work with you if you communicate with him. I'm a big fan of his lecture style, and I learned a lot of valuable stuff in this class. Being over zoom made lectures boring sometimes, but that's not on him, that's just COVID
Take this class if you want to hate your life and spend endless hours studying for useless course material! I am currently spending HOURS and DAYS prepping for the cumulative final exam. 90 questions, 90 minutes, proctored, and lockdown browser. Professor Epstein practically teaches the class like you're gonna be a lawyer. But this is BUSN LEGL...
Epstein was a great teacher. Getting an A is definitely doable if you pay attention to the lectures. There is no homework! He is super nice and caring and wants his students to do well. He tries his best to keep lectures entertaining and gives his students every opportunity they need to succeed. I recommend taking him!
There is a lot of material. If you can pass with only 3 tests and a final you might be fine otherwise I would not take his class. His concern is to teach material give you tests thats it. If your grades were his actual concern hed of made more assignments that encouraged learning. I regret taking the class and I should have withdrew from Day 1.
epstein is very knowledgeable about the material and it showed in his lectures. lectures contain a ton of info and i felt prepared for every test. i got A-'s on every test. he gives extra credit for participation. however, final is cumulative and it brought my grade down from an A- to B+ (borderline A-) but he doesn't round :/
Very lecture heavy and doesn't post notes. Gives the best feedback, all the grade is based on exams so be ready to study. Very helpful and a great professor.
as long as you go to class and take notes, the class is super easy. he teaches it in an outline format, which makes the content easy to understand. he's super straightforward but its not an easy A because it does require studying and going to class. if you dont mind going to class, taking notes and studying a little, he's a great choice.
Epstein is very knowledgeable. He obviously cares about his class and students. The class is always organized and straightforward. It is easy to learn the material. I don't get the reviews here saying they study days on end. You would have to be pretty trash at business concepts to need that. 2 hours the night before an exam and you'll do fine
Professor Epstein is extremely knowledgeable. I had considered pursuing a certificate in legal studies prior to taking his class, but now I will without a doubt. He's a great lecturer, he's funny, and he's passionate about the material. Your grade is almost entirely dependent on tests, but as long as you keep up with the material you'll do well.
He is a nice, knowledgeable professor and his exams are pretty straightforward and easy. 2 highest test grades and 1 final will determine your grade, but you won't need to worry about it too much.
This class might just be my favorite at UGA, while Professor Epstein's class is based on 3 tests & final, he prepares you so well to do good on exams, & I found myself learning the law in a way that was more than just memorization & learned how to actually apply concepts. Super accessible outside of class & always willing to help. Def taking again.
Great Prof, Tests easily match the lecture material so if you go to class (and dont use your phone the whole time) then you'll pass.
Overall I really enjoyed the class! I wouldn't take it if you aren't a good test taker though because the entire class is based on three tests (he drops the lowest one) and the final with no other assignments or quizzes. He does offer up to three percentage points in extra credit though. Solid professor and an interesting class.
He is a great professor. You might feel overwhelmed by lots of readings and grade structure (2 exams and final-33% each), but you can skip readings and still be fine as long as you go to classes. His exams test you on actual concepts rather than your English skills (no trick questions) and they come straight from his lectures. Take him if you can!
Although the content of this class was very straightforward, the professor was not clear at explaining the content and his class/lectures were very frustrating to sit through. He does not engage his students and excite them about learning the content. The course only has 4 tests the entire semester, with no quizzes/tests. Don't take it with him.
Everyone has different preferences, but I want to argue that he is very clear at explaining the content. He usually provides us made-up or real-life examples along with the concept, which makes it easier to understand and remember new concepts. He is extremely nice and willing to explain/help students inside and outside of the class. I loved him!
I would not recommend Professor Epstein to anyone. I attended all the lectures, spent hours and hours reading/studying for exams, and still could never get above an 85 on any of the tests or final exam. His tests are mainly application based and true/false. The final exam is cumulative and lowered my grade significantly.
He is really passionate about what he teaches and you can tell he genuinely wants his students to do well. However, be prepared to read a lot and study! He gives 3 tests (one is dropped) that are only 33 questions and a 50 question cumulative final. You cover a lot of material so it can get overwhelming but would recommend if going to law school.
Dr. Epstein is super passionate about this class and it definitely shows during lectures. He is 100% a good teacher. However, your grade is determined by 3 decently hard tests. I say take the class for the professor, but be ready to go over incredulous amounts of lecture notes to review for these tests
I loved taking Dr. Epstein! There's a quiz after every lecture but they're pretty easy if you pay attention so go to class. There's only 4 assignments total (3 tests and 1 final) which kind of sucked but he drops the lowest test. When preparing for the tests talk everything out. If you can explain it and give examples you're set and an A is doable.
He works lectured-based. You should review the chapter before class, take notes on his lecture & then review those notes for the exams. There are daily quizzes, easy, & exams, which can be easy if you listen to his examples. Make sure to ASK QUESTIONS, he gives great examples & will even research a question for you and share it in the next lectur.
His lectures include everything you need to know. Listen and take notes during class and review them for the exam. His exams and daily quizzes are straightforward and not hard to understand. If you listen and ASK QUESTIONS then you will do great. He is open o helping students understand concepts and makes sure to use lots of examples. Great!
Epstein was an amazing professor I've never written one of these before but I am for him! His lectures are very entertaining and engaging. He makes the concepts easier to learn and his tests are very fair if you listen to him in class. The book can help but listening to his lectures and noting what he emphasizes in his slides is more important
I have had him for both LEGL 2700 and 4400. He's very passionate about what he teaches and gets the class engaged in what he is teaching.
One of the better professors I've had so far. This class is completely lecture-based, and tests are pretty much drawn from what is gone over in class, with very little from the textbook, so it's in your best interest to attend class. Epstein is very engaging and obviously very passionate about the class, and is also extremely accessible.
Amazing professor, very engaging, and enjoys what he is teaching. His tests are very lecture heavy, he doesnt use the book often, so show and take notes and youll do good. Weekly participation is taken by review quizzes and discussion posts. One of the better legal professors to take!
Epstein is caring and very coherent in his lectures. He explains everything very well with plenty examples to help understand concepts. The only grades in this class are tests, but the tests are exactly the notes from class with zero surprises, so just show up and you're good to go! I loved this class and am sad to have to say goodbye to it.
Professor Epstein is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about this course. Not only does he explain his lectures thoroughly, but he throws some humor in them aswell. 5 tests make up 100% of your grade with one drop. Highly reccomend.
Epstein was an amazing professor. His lectures were straightforward and easy to follow. The tests were straight from the notes and were not too bad. You need to study hard for the tests but other than that the class is not work heavy at all. Epstein is such a nice guy and I would totally take another class with him. I highly recommend.
Epstein was my favorite professor this semester!! He cares deeply about all of his students and makes class very interesting. The tests are challenging and you have to study a lot but they are very fair. Also you don't have to read the textbook outside of class. You won't regret taking this class.
This is a fine class. Do well on the first four tests and you won't have to take the final. It's not bad, especially with the extra credit (do class participation throughout the semester!). Just give it minimal attention and you'll be great.
best prof I've had at uga and its not close. he knows the stuff very well, loves teaching, loves the subject and cares about his students, its lecture heavy but very fun and engaging, but if you just go to class and take notes you'll probably get an A. He makes it easy to grasp. His test count for a lot, but they're very straightforward and simple.
He is by far the best professor Ive ever had. He clearly loves his job and wants to get students involved while still making class fun. He made me want to come to class and want to succeed. I highly recommend taking any class you can with him, he will make it fun!
Epstein is NOT a good teacher. Do not believe these ratings. His powerpoints and lectures are incredibly unclear and unhelpful. Your entire grade hinges on 3 tests and a final. The tests are closed notes, 50 questions in 50 minutes. This man gives me a headache.
He provides great examples in class and makes the information enjoyable to learn! Ive gotten an A on both of our past tests and I strongly believe reading the textbook helps. I recommend going to every class bc you dont want to miss any important info. He drops your lowest test grade too and is overall a great guy
Hands down one of the best professors in Terry. I don't even like legal but after this class with him I'm considering doing the legal certificate. Your grade fully depends on the three exams but they are multiple choice and very straight forward. Take notes during lectures and you'll do fine. Take Epstein for any class you can take that he teaches!

Professor Epstein is amazing. His class was a regular lecture style layout, with extra credit quizzes offered after every class. There are 3 tests and a cumulative final and they are application based which makes them harder. I would definitely take him again.
I actually enjoyed this class a lot. Epstein is a great professor and is very clear in his lectures. He does not post the slides, but I understand why he did this because it encouraged me to go to class. Tests are very straight forward. As long as you go to class and study for tests you should make a decent grade.
Professor Epstein is my favorite professor I have ever had. His lectures are entertaining and very interesting. I wish I could take this class again. He drops a test and offers lots of extra credit for going to class and taking in-class quizzes and for participating in online discussions (both are easy). His tests are application-based but fair.
P Epstein is a really good professor. it's heavy-lectured based but it's not hard. optional textbook that will always help you make an A on the exams. I never went to class and only studied the night before and still passed his exams. exams are application-based but fair. doesn't post notes/slides so if you can get them from someone else you're set
Loved Epstein!! Take him if you need to take legal. If you show up to class, take notes from the PPT, and study them right before the test you'll get an A. You have to show up to class to take the notes because he doesn't post them on ELC. The bad thing is that there are only 3 tests (3 exams with 1 dropped + a final). 20/1000 pts of extra credit.
I don't really understand why Epstein has good reviews. His class isn't hard, but he is honestly a lazy instructor and kind of a jerk. Definitely not the nicest and I felt uncomfortable approaching him outside of class because of the way he spoke to me one time. I took his class because someone said he didn't give a final, but he did.
Epstein is a straightforward guy. Go to class and pay attention and the tests should not be too hard. Three tests and a final make up your entire grade (one unit test gets dropped) along with up to 2% extra credit. Epstein makes the class interesting by relating material to current events and pop culture. Good sense of humor.
Epstein is one of UGA's best professors. He is so passionate about teaching and brings humor into his lectures. They aren't necessarily very funny jokes, but they are definitely dad jokes that you would expect to come out of his mouth. Besides his jokes, he goes into detail about every single topic and helps you understand. Tests are hard though...
Professor Epstein was an average professor at best. Definitely knew the material well, but did not portray it as such. He gives a cumulative final, but doesn't allow you to view old tests to study for it. He is not the friendliest and will frequently give sarcastic answers or make you feel dumb for asking the question. Graded only by 3 tests.
Clear and concise lectures that directly translate to test material. Very knowledgeable too. Tends to make cheesy dad jokes. My only real complaint is that he does not post the slides or allow taking pictures. So if you miss a single class, you are out of luck if you can't get the notes from someone.
Epstein's lectures were very clear. The material isn't hard but there's a lot of it so you definitely have to study. The grade was only based on tests but he offered some extra credit at the end of the semester. One of my favorite classes though
Average at best. Lethargic lectures & useless slides (even though they're posted). Makes a big deal about students not coming to class. Don't be honest on the Test 1 survey because he'll use it against you. He told us people were doing too well without coming to class so he would make Test 2 harder. Kind of a jerk. Not even to the final yet
I love this man so much. Best class ever.
Very nice professor, makes it easy to go to class.
He is the best legal professor. You have to go to class and take notes, but if you pay attention you will get an A. He is captivating. You do not have to read. There is no homework.
I loved Mr.Epstein's class and have recommended him to everyone who has to take Legal. His lectures are interesting and interactive. He doesn't try to trick you for tests - take notes on what he says in class, study those, do the practice test book questions and you will do well. I have highly enjoyed this class and would take him again for another
Epstein was such a good professor. Such a nice guy too. He has very interesting lectures with great examples. Take notes on his PowerPoints in class and you will get an A on every exam. Very knowledgeable about his area of expertise as well.
If you have to take legal, definitely take it with Professor Epstein. He knows what he is talking about and provides really good examples to help understand the material. He doesn't post his lectures, so make sure you go to class and take notes. The tests are pretty straight forward just study your notes. I really enjoyed this class!
Good teacher but this man makes it clear that he is the only source of information you have. He doesn't post powerpoints, he doesn't post lectures, and he won't let you go over tests. If you miss a class, you gotta ask your friend for notes. For a class so information heavy, he should really consider posting the Powerpoints.
Attendance isn't mandatory but will count for extra credit at the end of the semester. The tests are very content heavy, but as long as you study leading up to the exams you will do fine.
Professor Epstein really cares about his students and about the course material. He really relies on lectures in class and reading the textbook, not a lot of other resources available. He was a fair grader with fair tests so if you go to class and study for the exams, you'll do well.
Honestly, one of the best professors I've had. Just show up to class and take notes and you get an easy A. It is test heavy but he gives out extra credit for showing up to class and taking the end of class quiz.
Dr. Epstein was an amazing professor. He has an engaging lecture style that makes learning the course material very enjoyable. He's lovely and I couldn't recommend him enough if you have to take legal.
Overall pretty good professor but your entire grade is made up of only 3 tests (you can drop one of the 4 unit tests but not the final). He doesn't post his slides either so gives incentive to go to class. go to class and study before tests and should be fine. helps to hear him explain concepts and gives tons of useful examples.
Knowledgeable and nice guy, but not a fan of his class. Refuses to post slides and slides have tiny font and lots of text so you miss info. Spends 20 min of each class reviewing info from previous class. Gives survey, ignores feedback. I'd prefer attendance grade over no slides. Gives quiz at end of class but often leaves >1 min left to take it.
Tests are hard. Other professors offer a lot easier courses. I would take another professor. Nice guy, his tests and lectures are just hard to follow and keep up with.
Cool guy and is really nice. He knows what he is talking about, but the tests are very hard in my opinion and meant to trick you. If possible, take a different professor unless your up for a challenge.
Mr. Epstein is one of my favorite teachers at UGA. Not only he is an amazing lecturer who utilizes real-life examples outside of the classroom to understand the course materials, but also a hilarious and friendliest teacher. His Tests are not that hard as long as you attend the class and study a few days before it.
Awesome professor that makes the class interesting and enjoyable. tests are slightly difficult, make sure to study in advance and have all of the notes for the class.
Professor Epstein was a great teacher who made his class very intresting! The subject matter can be dense at times and a little boring, but he does make lectures as fun as they can be. He cares for his students and prepares you well for all the tests!
Extremely boring lectures but you have to attend because he does not post any slides.
Epstein is fine and one of the better LEGL 2700 professors, but there are some things you should know. Your only grades in the class are 3 tests (ones dropped) and your final. You can get max 2% extra credit if you do the discussions and in class quizzes. In class quizzes are three questions and the end of class, easy if you pay attention.
Not a bad teacher, probably one of the better LEGL teachers at UGA but still boring and a lot of unnecessary work. He is test heavy and the class participation quizzes and discussions only make up for 2% of extra credit for grades. Be prepared to come to every class because he doesn't post slides and always does participation quizzes.
Honestly his lectures are extremely boring and unbearable at times.
Epstein is a very good professor if you are interested in law. If this is a topic that interests you, take him. He does his best to make lectures interesting and humorous. But, if you are a business student looking to get a good grade, find another professor as his tests can be difficult and require you to have a deep understanding of the material.
Tests are hard and he expects a deep understanding. Does not post his slides which makes studying really difficult. The extra credit is a ton of work and not worth it in my opinion. Attendance is not required but since he does not post his slides you need to go. I was at most classes and took notes and really struggled studying without the slides.
The professor makes this class fun and relevant. If you show up then you will do fine. He is very accessible out of the classroom and makes sure you understand the material. He also gives you plenty of opportunities for extra credit. If you show him respect, he will show you respect.
Honestly don't buy into all these reviews. His lectures are incredibly boring and unbearable at times. Probably one of the most unreasonable professors that makes you do a bunch of extra nonsense for no reason. Remember don't skip class he doesn't post slides oh wait also make sure you save your 200 pages of notes to study for the final.
Honestly this class is insanely boring and he is such a by the book type of person. Remember if your sick, family emergency, can't make it to class don't email him you have to go to student care and do a bunch of nonsense to get it reviewed just to get the slides and notes. He also post probably the most pathetic review docs I have ever seen.
Epstein was an okay lecturer at best, but the lectures felt insufferably boring at times. He is not flexible about absences and you need to jump through a bunch of hoops just to receive the material you missed. His test requires a great level of understanding of the material, and the final is cumulative, making his class a lot of unnecessary effort
Professor Epstein was ok at the most. His lectures were extremely boring and it was hard to pay attention. He doesn't post his notes on ELC so you have to go to class every day. Every class he has a quiz at the end. The grades consist of 4 tests and discussion posts.
Professor Epstein was ok at best. His lectures were extremely boring and he doesn't have any other assessments besides 4 tests. Also, he doesn't post his slides on ELC so you have to come to class and also he has a quiz at the end of class. In order to receive a good grade in his class go to class and pay attention and do the quizlets.
One of my favorite professors at UGA. 3 tests + a final but you can drop one of your test grades just not the final. Highly recommend
Overall, Professor Epstein's class was good. The tests are challenging, but if you attend all of the lectures and review a couple of days before each exam, you should be solid. Attendance is super important and I think the extra credit makes a huge difference, so be sure to be diligent about doing the extra credit throughout the semester.
jason is so nice! he always starts class with a fun fact and throws in good stories/jokes throughout the lectures. the one downside is you have to come to all classes bc there's end of class quizzes & he does not post notes. the tests are easy if you go to class and get all the notes, it's all very straight-forward content and is actually useful
1000% recommend!! Prof. Epstein is by far my favorite professor. His lectures are interesting and his exams aren't too bad, as long as you study a bit. I thought I would hate LEGL, but am now doing the legal studies certificate because of him. Don't bother reading the textbook. Attendance is mandatory - he doesn't post slides.
Attendance is mandatory and slides are never posted. That being said, Professor Epstein made lectures engaging and included current events. Homework was for completion and there's extra credit. If anything is going on in your life that affects attendance don't take him. That being said, many low-effort grade boosts are given as long as you show up.
Easily my favorite teacher I've had at UGA. His lectures are clear and funny, and he provides lots of examples that makes the material easier to remember. There's a textbook, but if you go to class you don't need to read it to be successful. Tests are straightforward: if you study your lecture notes, you'll do well. Would 100% recommend. He rocks!
Great guy, love his classes and they are extremely interesting. The best way to succeed in this class is by relating the information to real-world examples. Definitely would take it again. Gives extra credit opportunities.
Attendance is required, and I would highly recommend you go. Lectures are content heavy, BUT the test is quite simple if you attend, engage, and pay attention! Prof. Epstein is not a boring professor who rambles. You can tell he tries to teach in a fun way. I would take another class from him!
Epstein is a very solid professor. He's passionate about the content he teaches, his lectures are interesting and the material itself isn't that difficult. Attendance isn't mandatory but definitely important since he doesn't post the notes online. But if you just go to class, pay attention and take good notes you will be able to do really well.
Epstein is my favorite professor I've had! He makes lots of jokes and does his best to relate concepts in class to real-world examples. To get extra credit, you have to write a paragraph or two arguing why you deserve it based on class participation quizzes and if you spoke in class. Doesn't have normal office hours so you have to meet one-on-one.
Good teacher. The low rating is because I wish he had some kind of personalized practice for tests. The formatting of the tests is unique to the tests and no other assignments are similar. The homeworks are from the textbook and are different type of questions. Basically have to study your notes for multiple days.
Epstein is great... cracks jokes! Tries to make class interesting. Homework (1 a week: MAX 1.5 hours). Tests aren't hard if you study. Take notes word for word from the slides (go to class, he doesn't post notes). Go through the textbook and write definitions from that unit. Make flashcards. Drops one test, but not final (which is cumulative).
Pay attention to what he says in class because it makes understanding concepts much easier. You have to go to class for notes, but sometimes I wish they were much more detailed. All his tests are application-based, so you have to understand it and not just memorize it. The textbook reading will slightly help.
The content wasn't hard. The test had a lot of T/F questions that I struggled with. Exams are worth 90% and he doesn't post slides on ELC, you have to go to class for the notes. Quizlet is going to be your best friend for this class. Just study and pay attention in class because his scenarios help you memorize and understand the content.
Very boring lectures that make it difficult to go to class. Refuses to posted the slides for absolutely no GOOD reason. Take a different professor tbh. It wasn't awful but I wouldn't personally choose this professor again. A very mean man but the test were only 50 MC so that was nice.
This class was honestly a lot easier than I thought - just show up to class! Epstein doesn't post the slides and gives a lot of really helpful examples in person. He's honestly very easy to reach and willing to help a student out. Grades are based on 4 exams, 10 assignments, and some extra credit so its really hard to do badly.
He does not post notes, so you are busy copying everything down and can't really listen to what he has to say, and does not round, even if you are .01 away from the next letter. He also makes you take end of class quizzes that you only get credit for if you write a whole paragraph on why you deserve it. Overall just not good.
Super good professor with engaging lectures, he knows what he's talking about and makes it interesting. The class is test heavy but they are very fair tests, if you study hard you will do good.
Great professor, very organized. 4 total tests you take. Lowest of the first 3 is dropped and final is cumulative and required. Highest 2/3 tests and final worth 90%. Other 10% is completion HW. Tests are T/F and MCQ, you will probably miss some of the T/F as he makes 3-4 of them a test essential coin flips. Besides that no problems.
Epstein is a great professor all around: he explains the concepts and uses a lot of hypotheticals, he cares about his students and wants the best for everyone, and he makes his lectures enjoyable. If you're someone who isn't great at memorizing a lot, Epstein's tests are much easier because they require you to apply what he teaches in class.
He's awesome! Three tests and a group project. He is so caring, funny, and really helpful. He wants you to do well! His tests are 100% fair and everything on it is covered in class. Class consists of lectures, textbook, PowerPoints, and application-based hypothetical questions. Never bored during his class.
Great professor that taught everything in detail. Only caveat was that he does not post notes, but otherwise one of the best professors at my time at UGA!
Do not recommend Epstein. 3 tests and 1 cumulative final and they are worth 90% of your grade, the other 10% is homework that is once a week. Tests are difficult and 50 MC questions in 50 minutes. Will not round grade at all. Also doesn't post notes so you have to go to class.
Yes, he's a great guy and made funny jokes and means well, but his class was hard asf. Tests required studying at least a week in advance, whereas another LEGL2700 class had online tests that were a joke. If you're wanting to put in work then sure take him, but if you're looking for an easy grade, this is NOT your class.
Super nice guy but he just makes the class super difficult. All the other teacher's tests are online or easier and these tests are no joke. You have to go to every class or you will not get the notes. He has very few assignments and the tests are literally 90% of your grade. Take another teacher if you can, but if you get him be prepared to study.
Way more difficult than it needed to be. Other teacher's tests are online or easier. You have to go to every class or you will not get the notes. Very few assignments and the tests are huge part of grade.
Great guy, and super funny and knowledgeable of the law. Very aggressive about not taking pictures of or spreading his slides around. You will learn a lot, but if you don't study the tests will kill you. Challenging course, but can be incredibly rewarding.
He is a nice guy so I hate to say this, but dang this class was boring. Its not really his fault, but the material is painfully uninteresting. Dr. Epstein is also a very intense individual, and the notes are not easily accesible outside of class. Take this class just to get it over with.
honestly would not recommend. he dosen't post notes, so you're basically screwed if you don't come to class. 3 tests that often had confusing questions. These tests are also worth 90% of your grade.
Professor Epstein was a great intro legal professor. Overall grade in the class is determined by a few tests, but that is department wide. He drops your lowest exam score (not including final), and the homework load is light. He is funny and tries to connect with his students, and makes the content interesting. Highly recommend!
You have to show up to class to get the notes and he takes participation quizzes at the end of each class. If you have the notes and study hard you will do fine in the class. He tries to engage with students and is pretty funny, overall a good professor.
Awesome professor just show up to class for the class participation quizzes, and read the textbook
I think Prof. Epstein does a great job, very informed and engaging lectures. There is a pretty good amount of information, but nothing is exceedingly difficult. Coming to class is helpful as lectures mirror the wording of tests. Attendance is also taken in the form of 6 randomly timed assignments.
Excellent professor!! He gave very clear expectations, and though there is an assignment due before every class, it's only for completion and it gives valuable foundation for lecture. His lectures are extremely useful and his examples cemented the concepts well for me. The only downside is that attendance is absolutely mandatory, but it's worth it.
Professor Epstein was one of the best profs I've ever had! His lectures were super engaging and his humor was always much appreciated. None of the tests were too difficult and if you attend class (he doesn't post notes online), you'll be fine.
Tests are based on lectures which he does not post the slides too. Tests are all really situational questions so you really have to know the concepts in n out. attendance taken every class. you do also have to buy a textbook which gives u an assignment you have to complete before every class.
Best professor for legl. Engaging in lectures and the tests are straight from the lectures. Opportunities for extra credit towards end of year. Easy homework
Epstein is awesome. He's the funniest professor I've had. He does an excellent job breaking down difficult legal concepts. There are 3 exams (1 dropped) and a mandatory final making up 75% of your grade, but as long as you study, the tests aren't too hard. He doesn't post notes, but attending class is definitely worth it!
Challenging but rewarding class with a strict professor. Take it seriously, as tests are difficult and attendance is mandatory. unstuck ai proved helpful for review.
Loved this class and teacher. He teaches material for the tests but does not post the slides. In order to do well you must go to class and take good notes. He offers extra credit at the end of the semester that requires evidence of participation so make sure to read the syllabus.
Great professor. Uses great examples and knows the information really well. Will succeed if you go to class and pay attention to the examples he gives because the tests are not bad at all if you lock in on the material in class.
GREAT guy. Definitely take him. He cares a lot of his students
Take Tripp
take hackleman or Tripp
Good professor, show up to class because he gives examples that will be on the test. Attendance matters a lot as the readings won't explain what he wants you to learn, but his lectures are entertaining and meaningful.
Dr. Epstein is an amazing professor. The exact same examples are on the exams so you have to pay attention in class but the exams are easy as long as you do so. It is so helpful how in detail he goes about specific topics and he is very passionate about what he teaches. TAKE HIM 100% I would take every class I could with him.
this semester he made smartbook assignments optional (dont have to buy $90 platform/book). he gives lots of extra credit, participation points being one of them. the tests are not bad if you use the study guides + lock in. if you decide to skip and dont have a friend to get notes from, goodluck cause he doesnt post them. light work/chill class tho
Liked his class; however found some lectures confusing. Has a lot of practices questions but answers discussed in class don't always match slide notes. Recaps have information not covered so it's new content with almost no information. Makes joking comments that come across as rude sometimes. Makes me feel dumb when reviewing tests.
He's a good professor, definitely one of the harder choices for legal , take someone else imo, u have to study ur butt off to know all the information for the test , on average I studied 7 hours per test , definitely can get an A but u will have to work , lectures are funny
Really have nothing bad to say besides he acts like a moody teenager sometimes. Need to go to class for attendance to apply for extra credit at the end of the semester, but if you don't need/want that then you just need to be there for the in-class activities(6 of them). Doesn't post slides, so you need a buddy there. Most notes are on Quizlet tho.
Nice professor who tries to help students. Content wasn't too difficult. Entire grade is three exams and a final, and you can drop your lowest score. Exams are multiple choice and can be tricky.
