Legal research is a boring class and he does his best to make it interesting. Hardly ever in class since he is a full time lawyer. Made me realize that law is not for me.

Good teacher, hardly ever in class, quizzes are pretty hard, but overall he's good.

Very cool teacher. His quizzes are pretty hard but he gives extra credit and drops the lowest grade. He hardly comes to class and is very lenient on the homeowrk. If you attempt the homework you will receive an A

He is a total pain in the butt when it comes to attendance and late assignments. The previous people who rated him must have had a different person thn showed up in my class. He actually made us do homework and PRESENTATIONS!!!! WHat's up w/that? OH -- byt the way -- he made evert class. Thanks.

Professor Fiesta has completely changed for this year. He went to every class and graded a bit hard. I ended up with a 1/5 on every quiz but ended up with a B. Includes group presentation, group debate, attendance grade, 3 research assignments, an essay mid-term, 3 quizzes, and a CANCELLED FINAL!!!

When all is said and done--a good teacher. Was very helpful; came in to give me a test while he was sick. Be warned though he does place a big percentage on group assignemnets, be cautious who you pick to work with! I would recommend him.

He is a great professor. He gets everyone involved in class. Judges performance based off group work. Like someone else said, watch out for who you pick to be in your group. Problems will surface, trust me on that. Overall, i recommend him.Some people have problems and can't work with others.

Great professor! I would definitely recommend him to anyone taking this course. Lots of group work, so again be careful who you choose. I can see how some people would think the tests were difficult, but if you pay attention in class and glance over the book you'll do great! I got an A!

It is true that he now attends every class. He challenges his students, and is certainly not easy, but he is not overly difficult either. His grading system was a little unfair, but he used it to the student's advantage at the end.

He was very good and actually showed genuine concern for his students. There were no presentations. The person who rated him before me must not have been in my class. I will say he is no pushover when it comes to grades. Be prepared to do some work if you want a grade higher than a C.

Cool professor. Busy attorney but makes time to talk to you if you have a problem with your group or legal content. Tests arent super easy but if you study the chapters you'll be fine. He's really fair just dont mess around and you will be fine. We didnt have a final either.

A very good professor. He did he best to make what could be a very painful class, legal writing, into something interesting. He does make an effort to make sure the class is on the right track. His grading is not easy going like his lectures. But he will keep you the whole class period.

Very hard material with a tough grading system. He is nice and interesting to listen to.

He is a stright shooter and does not hide the ball. Take him at his word when he tells you he's a tough grader. He will, however, give you every chance to get a good grade, if you put forth the effort. He is also pretty easy to listen to -- not boring given the subject matter.

I have taken him twice! It was worth every minute. His has a sarcastic sense of humor and is very straight forward, You gotta respect a guy like that!

I had him for both research and writing. He is very fair and puts the students first. He is really concerned w/how the class feels and makes an effort to make the subject matter interesting and relevant. However, despite his approachable demeanor, he is a tough grader -- but fair.

OUCH! -- Very difficult to get an A. You will work for every point.

Grading system is very strange. You seem to loose points all semester long until you reach the end of the class. At the end, your grade will be based on the number of points you lost. It is very difficult to get an A in this class -- but it is possible.

Helpful if you ask and will work with you if he sees an effort. Very straight forward and easy to understand. Some may find his grading system problamatic, you start with 100 points (an A) and work your grade down with any points you loose on projects or tests. Overall a good teacher.

Pretty easy if your not a total idiot, grading system is not novel its just taking points instead of giving them (if you were confused by this your not college material)

Great Teacher and his lectures are very short, however, I just want to point out that you need to put in alot of effort to either get a B or C in his class. Getting an A is very very hard, not impossible , just very hard so if you want a class to boost your GPA , I don't recommend it.

I agree it is very hard to maintain an A because he is taking the points you have gotten wrong away from you, but he is very helpful and is very clear about how he wants things done. I managed a B, but I am very proud of the B!

Holy cow that was a hard class. I got an A in the class but it was not easy. You will have to turn in work on time and maybe study for a quiz once in a while. Grades = tough, but fair. He tells you what he expects from you from the get go, so if you're looking for an easy A, take someone else. If you get lower than a B in the class, you're an idot.

Grading scale is confusing at first, but it DOESN'T HURT YOU. Never kept us more than an hr and a half in a supposed 3 hour class. Research projects are EASY and the final paper is a group assigment. Quizzes aren't too bad... he's a very picky grader, but he's not looking to hurt anyone. Funny guy, too. Works as a lawyer currently in OC. :)

Fair. Talks about class subject in a very pracical way, so he keeps it interesting. Tests can be weird.

Hes a tough grader. You have to attend class or you are screwed. He counts points towards attendance and his tests/quizzes are on his notes. Read the textbook to backup your notes. He can be very pessimistic at times but he kind of gives you insight on law school professors. If you are not trying to go to law school just avoid him.

I took the summer research class, we got out really early and as long as you turned in your homework and study the notes from class for the quizzes you should do just fine. He didn't give us a final...and I thought the class was to the point.

Entertaining! Takes his job seriously. Go to each class, read the book and LISTEN to the lectures. He does pull questions from his lectures. Good professor, he does make you work your butt off!

At the beging of class, he talks about law school and how it's different (and sometimes not so plesant) compared to college, which I liked. It was the hardest B I ever worked for. Negative? I was in the same section & did't get that vibe. It's called reality--deal with it. Not everyone is gonna sugarcoat everything. Esp. not this guy. Fair though

Prof. Fiesta definitely gives you a dose of reality in terms of law school and studying law. Tough grading system, that requires you to be on top of your game. Basically you have to go to every class, take good notes, and read the textbook and you might get an A. So an easy A class, no. A class where you will actually learn, yes.

Fiesta was a very good teacher. Just take notes to what he says in class. He never holds you that long. Read the book and do the homework. Yes there is some busy work in the class. Overall a good guy, great social skills and I would take him again.

if you're looking for an easy A -- look elsewhere. This professor is not for you.

Not an easy A...kind of an ass with grades, but altogether a good teacher. Will give you a dose of reality...whether you want it or not.

great prof. he will make you think outside of the box...hard to understand writing on board but listen and write down what he say, it will be on the quizes...midterm and final are easy.....great class but have to work and read..

Interesting guy, very very harsh on grading. The material really wasn't difficult, but he beats you up on the tests.

Professor Fiesta is pretty nice. He is a prosecutor in Orange County so he knows his stuff very well. I wish there would have been more assignments instead of so many quizzes but it's not a bad class at all. If you study and pay attention, you'll be fine. The lectures tend to be a bit outside of the box and it's all for the best.

Fiesta was by far my favorite professor at UCF. He is a prosecutor in Orlando so he knows his stuff very well. I learned a lot from his class but, it was NOT an easy A. He grades based on points and not percentages! You need to stay on top of your grade and study the LECTURES and the text! No formal final was given. You WILL learn a lot from him.

great professor! he goes over the outline to the quizes and exams in class so you want to attend but mostly study what he goes over in class because thats what will be tested on!!he is only difficult if you dont study what he went over

I took him at night and the great thing is that he was rarely boring. Hi energy, hi enthusiasm, but a little tough on the grading scale. Study for the quizzes, come to class, and you will do fine. I bombed one quiz and I dont think he gave anyone all points for midterm. He likes or says he is out to get your points but he's good. I would take again

Class was very scary along the way and didn't have high hopes of getting A. He makes tests seem a lot more difficult than they actually are so causes you to worry. Midterm was a case review. Not a hard class if you go to class and study. No final given. Very good professor, would take him again if didn't change my major.

First weeks of class left me scared out of my wits to show up. Really thought I was going to fail but in reality hes not a bad teacher!Just show up to class and WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING THAT COMES OUT OF HIS MOUTH. No joke, that's the only way you'll get an A.

Not easy A. Lot of work. Interesting guy and very knowledgable. Definitely treats the class like law school and I'm a CJ major so that part wasn't for me...

I wouldn't necessarily say this is an easy class, but you can get an A if you put in effort. The assignments that he assigns are old school. You'll be using ALRs, Legal dictionaries, etc. But the assignments are group projects and he is a lenient grader on those. The quizes, not so much. You need to study and go to class.

Really enjoyed. Have taken him several times for different legal course. Loves to challenge his students, especially in smaller class settings.

I really enjoyed the professors class. He is a funny teacher at times. His assignments is not too bad, but mostly getting you ready to use the law books, but in a group. This is a plus, since that is the main feature of researching for cases. At times there won't be no one there to hold your hands, so at least get some experience in doing it.

Legal research isn't the most interesting subject but Dr. Fiesta manages to keep you entertained for most of the lecture. There were times when I spaced out but just focus on the lectures and take notes. You need to remember details like what color certain books are, but it's not bad. You're fine if you show up, pay attention, and put in effort.

Amazing professor, don't let him scare you with his grading scale, by the end of the semester the quizzes get easier. No final :)

Loved the class and the way he taught. He always made the classes interesting and easy to follow. I learned a great deal from this professor. I have taken two of his classes and would take more.

You will learn a TON in this class. He's an actual prosecutor and knows his stuff, and if you pay attention you will get a lot out of the class. He's a tough grader on short answer questions, but there are enough easy points in other places that you shouldn't have to worry too much. He has a genuine interest in imparting his craft to his students.

Dr. Fiesta is one of the most animated and down to earth professors at UCF! He's amazingly intelligent and is more than happy to share his knowledge of the law with students. He is super professional and just an all around great person. I enjoyed taking several of his classes. I have graduated now, but would take him again if given the opportunity!

Professor Fiesta is an AMAZING teacher. He grades a bit tough and his quizzes may cause you to think EXTRA hard, but you will learn a lot in this class. Something hat stands out is how interesting he makes lectures. Will not bore you one bit. Very knowledgeable, will help you in any way he can, he is not here to want to see you fail.

Professor Fiesta is a refreshing professor who brings energy to all his lectures and cares about his students success. 5 quizzes that get easier as the semester goes on and 3 research assignments that are easy points and can be done in groups. The final he also lets you take as a class. Take him! truly one of the best UCF has to offer.

This class is pretty easy and Fiesta tries to make the subject interesting. Legal Research is not easy to make interesting. He does care and gives some easy research assignments that can be done in groups. He also let us take our finals in groups. His grading is done on a points system which is somewhat confusing, but you'll get the hang of it.

Fiesta is literally one of the best professors on the entire campus. Only problem I had was that he barely ever gave instruction on how to conduct the research in the seconday legal resources, which is hell. Hundreds of books in depth instruction on how to use them since no online resources are available.

I would take professor Fiesta in a heart beat. Despite heavy reading in the class, tough quizzes I felt that I learnt a lot from this class. You have to work for your grade trust me its not an easy A if you do not put in the effort to study.

The best professor I've ever taken! Grades assignments almost immediately, only had a few papers as HW. Teaches well and even has in-class exercises they are fun! Responds to emails almost immediately. Tests are easy if you study/read the book which is not hard. Take detailed notes in his class and you should do well!

Wonderful! His online class was great! It is so organized and his reading assignments are really interesting (stat. law rev.). His assignments are not too hard if you read the material, the same goes for quizzes. Responds to emails almost immediately and grades fast! His feedback is helpful. There is a bit of reading but it isn't bad after a bit!

PLA4263 Evidence. If you dont have time to read everything in the chapter, you wont perform well. Make sure you dont take this class in a busy semester. Fiesta does not play around, strict grader, difficult tests.

Dr. Fiesta is a well organized individual. His quiz questions had a few errors that could have been better proofread. However, hes straight forward, you know what to expect and he is timely and does not grade very harshly in this class. He has a very stern personality in class but a very helpful and down to earth one on one. I will take again.

Dr. Fiesta is easily one of the best professors at UCF. He loves his job, is an excellent speaker, and tries to help every student pass. His tests are a bit much, but, if the overwhelming majority of the students do poorly, he assigns extra credit to help boost grades up. He is always helpful during office hours. Take him for every class you can.

Yes is a lot of work, you have homework every single week and about 5 test the whole semester, but if you read his feedback and the assigned reading you will pass. The test are somewhat complex, but overall he is a good professor. I'm taking another two classes with him Spring semester, I love that he is very organized and grade extremely fast.

Dr. Fiesta is well spoken and after having class with him I can say I do admire him, but his teaching methods in this class has deterred me from ever wanting to take any future classes with him. He stressed the whole class by giving wonderful feedback that did not help at all for the next assignment, He is is a really tough grader. So be prepared!

Fiesta is a funny guy. He made me cry in class cause he made us think we had to run to FAMU for a grade haha. You will need the text for the 3 assignments in class but he lets you work in groups and the final is in a group too. The hardest thing about this class are the quizzes. Pay real good attention in class cause a lot of the q's are from there

OMG take Dr. Fiesta!!! He's the best professor I've ever encountered! He's so accessible, grades assignments within hours, and gives the BEST feedback! I love his teaching style SO much! 10/10 recommend!!!

Dr. Fiesta is a fantastic professor. He grades assignments SO QUICK - like within a couple hours! He's always makes himself available to you. He puts so much effort into his video lectures, which really help break down the material. I took him for a 6 week course, which was intense, but made it through. Make sure you give thorough answers!

Dr. Fiesta was a great professor! I was a bit nervous to take him especially because it was during the summer semester but his lectures really helped out and he gave very helpful feedback on the assignments. He grades everything extremely fast which is always great. I definitely am taking him again!

Although an incredibly tough grader, Dr. Fiesta was an incredible professor that I am taking again for the next several semesters. He does make you WORK for it, but his feedback is great. He definitely demands excellence, but you'll learn so much with him that it's worth it. If you're willing to work, then take him. I couldn't recommend him higher.

Prof Fiesta is the most passionate teacher I have ever had. He truly inspired me to genuinely work harder and taught me so much in both the classroom and about life. He is an amazing teacher and I learned so much, he also helped build our confidence and public speaking skills by encouraging group work. Online he just as great and no textbooks!!!!!

These comments worry me. Prof Fiesta makes you work for your grade because he knows you can be excellent! I had him for Trial Advocacy and every class was groupwork and lots of public speaking practice! He taught me real skills and to challenge my normal way of thinking. His questions make you think & I never noticed spelling errors. He's amazing!!

I've taken him before and got an A, will take him in the future again! Every week had at least two things do: could do them in one day if you try. Gave amazing feedback on assignments and use that for the quizzes; only 4 quizzes and a final quiz. Some discussion, some review questions. No textbook as he provides the materials for you.

Dr Fiesta is really a great professor. Hes not easy though, and for the better. You will learn A LOT in this class. You cant pass without knowing the material. Take very detailed lecture notes- as in write down everything. Hes easy to listen to because hes very well spoken, and I rarely found myself zoning out. Its tough but worth it.

I have taken Professor Fiesta for two classes prior to this class. I took both law & the legal system & criminal law with him as well. His point system is quite different but leaves a lot of room for you to still get a good grade in the class if you lose pts. He definitely grades strictly but gives a lot of feedback & you learn a lot. He is great!

Prof. Fiesta is an AMAZING PROFFESOR! I have taken him for FOUR classes because he is that awesome! His knowledge of each area of law he teaches is abundant, he is quick to respond when you need help. Weekly assignments are "easy" and manageable. Some weeks are a a bit busy in reading, but so worth taking the time and taking Prof. Fiesta!!

Prof. Fiesta is an awesome teacher. He gives you examples that are easily understood. He provides you with hints to pay attention to to prepare you for quizzes. Do the weekly work and pay attention to what he tells you to study, you will pass with a good grade. He is easy going and cares about what he teaches. Wish he taught every PLA Class.

Prof. Fiesta is a great guy, and will always give feedback and constructive criticism. There's lots of reading in this class and as long as you take good notes and do case briefs, you'll do ok on the tests. This is my second class with Fiesta and he is always consistent with the course schedule and due dates etc.

Dr. Fiesta is clear about his expectations from the very first class which makes it very easy to track your progress. Every week we had anywhere from 6-14 questions from a chapter and then a discussion. On weeks we had tests we did not have anything else due aside from the test. He cares about his students succeeding and understanding the concept.

Dr. Fiesta is a great professor. He truly cares about his students and wants them to be informed. He was even able to help me out with a paper for another class. I would definitely take a class with him again.

It's a TueThr class but you only show up every other Thursday. All points are worth the same. Tests are open book and pretty easy and he suggests doing them in groups. You can read the case while doing one of the assignments and it shouldn't be too bad

He intimidated me when I first started taking him but he was an amazing prof. who is funny and gets along well with students. He is a good teacher who will explain things well but you have to take specific notes in class in order to do well on the tests because not everything is going to be in the book. Read the ch. before class!!

Prof. Fiesta was an amazing professor to have as a beginner law class prof. He gives amazing lectures and explains everything and if you do not understand something he will make sure he is available to talk and explain it to you. His tests are very lecture and textbook based. The cases in the book are interesting.

I would highly recommend taking Fiesta if he is offering in person classes. He is a very good professor face to face. Online you don't really get to have any of his lectures and the quizzes/tests are somewhat difficult. He is 5/5 in person and about 2/5 Online. Highly recommend his trial advocacy class if available!

Professor Fiesta is amazing. His in-person lectures are interesting and engaging, and his online classes do require a lot of reading, but if you sit down and read there is no reason you shouldn't pass with at least a B. The quizzes test on the reading material and sometimes require some analyzing. Definitely recommend taking him in person.

I've taken a few classes with Professor Fiesta and I have enjoyed all of them, he gives great lectures. Attendance is mandatory but the class was enjoyable so I didn't mind. There is one group project at the end that replaces a final exam, a mock trial which wasn't difficult at all.

Dr Fiesta is an amazing professor, i took him for PLA3014 his lectures are very interesting, gives always great feedback and willing to meet with you or call if you need explanation. He is very responsive but quizzes are kinda tricky. If you work hard and follow instructions you ll do great. I would definitely take him again.

He knows what he is talking about, his lectures are like 1hr long but useful. You have weekly quizzes and review questions. I would take this professor again but make sure to actually do the reading/lecture because he utilizes keywords he expects you to write. Little tough graders but nothing too bad.

I love Dr. Fiesta. You will learn so much in this class and really improve. He's so scary at first but you learn that he really cares, so helpful, and so easy to talk to. He wants to see you succeed. There is a lot of reading beware of that but his assignments are all in the reading same with quizzes. Non-cumulative final and amazing feedback and reachable outside of class. Every week there are review questions and a discussion. (Not hard - got 100 on all). Reading the chapter def helps for the tests (MC but you cant just google all the answers). The reading is actually interesting and makes it super easy to answer the review questions. I would definitely take him again. Super helpful if you need to reach out to him.

I have taken at least one class with Prof. Fiesta since switching into Legal Studies. I like his class structure. It is def not for everyone and takes some getting used to. Clear expectations. Great feedback. Weekly assignments. Either review questions with a discussion post or a quiz. Point system which I like, again not for everyone.

Professor Fiesta's PLA3014 class is challenging but worthwhile. His lectures are engaging, and he's happy to provide extra help. Utilizing resources like the textbook, Unstuck study, and office hours is key to succeeding. Overall, a rewarding experience.

He is fair grader on the assignments, as long as you fill the requirements you should get full credit but they aren't worth much. You have to get good quiz scores to pass. The quizzes are difficult. They are long, with 6 different answer choices (which is a nightmare for overthinkers). You need to study to pass, but you do learn. Would take again.

Pay attention to the lectures and make sure to take detailed notes. The tests usually have nine multiple choice answers and can be tricky sometimes. But as along as you study the chapters and lectures you will do just fine. Dr. Fiesta is a very engaging lecturer, class is always interesting and he is a good professor overall!

I have very few complaints about Professor Fiesta, he's famous for making his quiz questions tricky. However, I learned more in his class than quite a few of the other PLA classes, plus free textbook. Class is basically reading a chapter, short discussion, answering like 6 essay questions, then test every two weeks. Very nice & answers emails quick

A very genuine professor with a good teaching style. His quizzes are tricky but not hard as long as you take detailed notes and pay attention during lectures. Decently lenient with his grading and offers in-depth feedback to every assignment
