I love Bro. Flora. He's an awesome guy. It's just that sometimes in class I have no clue what's going on nor what he wants, and I know I'm not the only one, as my roomie has the same problem. When we do know what's happenin, class is fun and intersting.
The man is just great. He really really loves what he's doing, and he loves teaching and learning and all of it, and he has a positive attitude. I enjoyed his class a lot.
Brother Flora is very kind, is personable and cares deeply for his students. I know that he cares about me. He is not as experienced as other Humanities teachers, but is yet very knowledgeable. His class is a little monotonous sometimes, but still fun
Rambles about irrelevent things. Unclear about assignments. Reading responses due every class hour. Not organized, minimal lecture notes, uses the internet instead of hard copy slides. Uses minimal resources in lecture. Avoids controversial topics- doesnt clear them up. Nicest man, awful teacher.

I really liked him. He seams a little coarse at first but he really loves his students and hopes for everbody's well being. Very knowledgable, a little difficult but I learned a lot!!
Such a good teacher! He is very passionate about the subject, which makes for interesting discussions and fun class periods. ONe of the few classes I could actually stand going to.

Bro. Flora is an AWESOME teacher! He is very approachable and has a deep love for anything dealing with humanities...and he relates to all the students...I would recommend taking him for this class cause youll actually learn something and youll enjoy going to class!!!
Very accomidating. Classes are always pretty interesting, though, study HARD for his tests. I HIGHLY recommend a study group for this class because the one time I didn't have one, I failed that test flat out. The art quizzes are Pretty INSANE, so watch out for those. NOT for those who want a light load.
Bro. Flora is a really nice guy and a great teacher. I wouldn't say that he was the best teacher in the Humanities department, but I did learn a ton in his class. Yes, his tests where hard but not impossibly so. I wasn't a member of a study group and I got an A in the class. I just payed attention and took good notes.
Brother flora is one of the best teachers on campus. He has a great passion for humanities, (so much that he twitches when he gets excited) which makes his students want to participate and listen. He makes learning simple yet profound. He loves his students and wants everyone to succeed. I never knew how cool Humanities was until I had Bro. Flora.
Brother Flora was amazing! I adored his classed and never missed once bc it was so interesting. His love of the humanities was aparent and made his lessons that much better. He knew his material and made class fun. His class was challenging but I LOVED it!
Brother Flora = Captain My Captain
Lectures were very good. Felt that sometimes tests were unfair, though- random, or too specific of questions. Overall a good professor.
Bro. Flora is an incredibly vague teacher. He teaches the material and that is it, he expects you to remember every little detail he has ever said. Nice guy but way too hard of a teacher for a humanities class. Come on man!
Makes everyone in class excited about life. He thrives on participation. He brings so much passion to each class that he'll even start twitching. He loves his students, and wants everyone to succeed in his class.
He expects a lot out of you but he always will help you understand what is not clear to you if you ask. His tests are easy if you read the book and go to class. He is excited about the subjects he teaches and it rubs off on you and you get excited about the subject too.
I thoroughly enjoyed this class. Bro. Flora loves the arts, and he really shows that through his teaching. He is very helpful and is willing to work with you if you need it. This class is no walk in the park. Bro. Flora expects you to earn the grade. If you go to class and read the material, you'll do great.
I took the class uneducated and ignorant of the world of arts, but he opened an amazing world i never thought i would learn to enjoy and love. with hard but fun work, i gained cultural refinement and most especially, artistic perspective.
This professor is amazing! I highly recommend him, he really cares about the students, the material, and he is more than reasonable when dealing with students. It's an awesome class, take it before it's to late!!
Professor Flora is an excellent teacher. He lays everything out for you to succeed. However, if students think this class will be an easy "A," well think again. Like every college course , you need to put in the time to see results. So, if you do not study you will not get a good grade; however, if you do you will do well. I highly recommend him.
Bro. Flora is an amazing professor! He has a great sense of humor, and he really has a passion for the arts. Class time is enjoyable, but you do have to work for your grade. I highly recommend taking a class from him!
101 is meant to be a broad overview of the humanities, but bro flora feels like you need to know the most specific little things about them and tests on concepts that are ridiculous. He forces the humanities on you and tries to make you love them too, too opinionated and can be offensive. Very vague. Take it online and you'll enjoy it.
I had no intrest whatsoever in the arts before taking his class but, surprisingly, he actually turned me around to an extent. The class is at the perfect difficulty level; if you study and do the work you'll get an A, and if you dont you'll fail lol. He's passionate about the arts and it kinda rubs off on you so, overall, I'd take him again :)
He is amazing! You can tell he really loves what he does. He does a really good job with putting religion in class, and the book that we have to read in class is also amazing.
He has high (but not impossible) expectations of the class. He is always himself--genuine, caring, conservative, somewhat opinionated, and I respect him very much. He does really care about his students and always called me by name. He may rub some students wrong with his vocal opinion on religion, but I respected him greatly for it.
Great teacher! He is really passionate about the subject, we watch fun movies and he reviews what's going to be on the test in classs. It does take some studying but an A is definatly achievable. Great guy nice really caring.
Bro. Flora is a really good teacher. His class does require work and effort but if your willing to put forth the effort you will learn tons. He is really kind and caring and really wants you to succeed, but he won't just give you a grade you have to earn it. I would take another humanities class from him in a heartbeat!
Great teacher! You learn so much in his class. If you study and do all of your homework--easy A. Tests are not that difficult if you put the time into studying for them. Overall, really fun class and very interesting.
Brother Flora may be a funny guy (in an odd sort of way) but his tests in his class don't always reflect what you learn in class. there are always random facts that he mentioned randomly in class that are on the tests. i would try another teacher.
He is the best ever. I didn't care for humanities before I took from him and now I love the subject. He is very fair and a blast!
He is very interesting in class but his testing is very unrealistic. His tests contained concepts he barely mentioned in class and he gives you zero feedback on what to expect from an exam. When our class got an average 60% on a test he told us we didn't study enough!I personally studied hours before I took it and so did others.
He is a very nice man, but honestly I had a very difficult time in his class. Tests were EXTREMELY hard. (Fill in the blank)I went in and asked for help but he wasn't very helpful he said looks like you are doing fine and that was it! I got a B in the class. if you know nothing about humanities before hand another teacher may be better for you.
He's a good professor, just hard content sometimes.
I really enjoyed Bro. Flora's class and took him repeatedly. You can tell that he enjoys what he is teaching. His tests were a little hard and sometimes there were things on it that were not discussed in class but were on the study guide. I really enjoyed his class
Tests are pretty hard, at least for me. Lots of reading, not many quizzes or homework assignments, just reading. Really enjoys what he teaches.
He loves what he teaches--makes it more enjoyable. Doesn't give study guides for the tests, so everything he says has a big chance of being seen on the test. It seems like it'd be just an easy class, but it turned out to be more time-consuming than I thought. Just study hard and it's a pretty good class.
This class was ok. For a required humanities class it taught a lot but there was TONS of busy work. About everyday there was something we had to do. I wouldn't recommend this class if you have other really hard classes.
He is a pretty cool teacher. He is funny, and I was never bord. His class was pretty easy. Study for the tests and do the assignments. I would so take his class again, he is a great teacher.
This professor was horrible! I do not recommend taking this class if you don't have to. The tests are super hard, and you spend so much time on busy work! He told us in the beginning of the block that this class he thought was more important that all of our other classes, even if it wasn't in our major. Don't take this class.
VERY VERY interesting class! Brother Flora is an amazing teacher who really knows his stuff. It's inspiring to see someone who loves the arts so much trying to make others realize how beautiful they are, too. This class really did change my life... you learn a lot, and I highly recommend it. An "A" is very doable. Just do your work!
For a basic 101 class, he skipped over important things, while delved into topics too detailed. He always veered off topic and talked about useless facts. The class consisted of ridiculous amounts of busywork. He was more dedicated about sticking to the schedule than making sure the class understood.
This class is mostly group work and busywork--it is a 200 level class, but it's ridiculous. Questions on the tests were not even discussed in class, he expected too much from the students. We spent lots of time watching video clips and discussing LDS humanities, not AMERICAN humanities.
THE TEACHER LOVES WHAT HE TEACH. IS TO BORING SOMETIMES TO MUCH DETAILS DURING. LOT OF READING IF YOU ARE NOT A NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IS HARDDDDDDD. TO MUCH READING AND WRITING. QUIZZES ONLINE EVERYDAY AND THE MOST HATED BLOGS. AND YOU HAVE TO SPEND MONEY IN EVENTS
Bro Flora is a GREAT Teacher!!! He really knows his stuff and his passion for the arts is very contagious if you are not brain dead. I'm an older student and served 4 yrs in the Army after my mission. The majority of the students are fresh out of High School and I think that is why many of the comments are poor. His tests were too easy though.
This is my favorite class!!!!!!
I LOVE Bro. Flo! He is so passionate about what he teaches. He really cares about his students and their interests. He really helped in my decisions of what humanity classes to take and what I should do with my love of art. I LOVE HIM!
Class was way to hard for a 101 intro course. Lots of stuff does not pertain to 99 percent of the majors out there. He is good at teaching Humanities but his class seemed like it was angled towards HUM majors only. Lots of pointless stuff most of the students don't need to learn.
Brother Flora is very into what he is teaching. He is a fair grader, but it takes a lot of effort to keep on track with assignments, even for those of us who got A's, because he hardly ever reminds you in class. I think a lot of people struggled with remembering to do all of the homework, quizzes, blogs, etc.
A lot of the materials did not pertain to 90% of students majors and there was a lot of out of class reading. I had a hard time remembering to turn in homework because he never really reminded you to do it but I guess that's what comes with being in college :)Overall a nice guy and an okay teacher.
Way too much homework. He requires 2+ hours outside of class for each hour in class. Great teacher, class is interesting, but if you don't want to spend all of your time on one class, don't take this one. Come time to read the Odyssey you read 80 pages or more between each class.
Brother Flora was AWESOME! You could tell that he loved what he was teaching and knew the material well. Yes, the material covered doesn't pertain to a lot of other majors but it was very interesting and I absolutly loved his class. Great teacher
Brother Flora was awesome! You could tell he was very passionate about what he taught, it made class more interesting. I really enjoyed his class.
Brother Flora provides a lot of work from midterm-finals, but I have never learned more than I learned in that class. If you work hard and go to him for help, you will get an A in this class. And you will be rewarded by the things you learn.
Brother Flora is really passionate about the humanities. He loves the beauty in the arts. Only drawback is that he has you read so much that it's almost impossible to take it in, and become something as a result of it. His tests/quizzes aren't too hard. If you want an easy A where you just read and regurgitate then this is the class for you.
I was scared to take this class but I found bro flora vary help full and in the class he does expect a lot from you but as long as you do the home work you will pass the class.
I learned a ton in this class, but it was REALLY tough. There were a lot of papers, tests, and essays that were required. Brother Flora is an extremely hard grader, but made the subject fun.
He is a hard teacher. He expects a lot from his students and he expects you to learn on your own. In class he talks about the subject, but changes the subject all the time about Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, things that are NOT part of the class. His tests are hard and the answers are NOT covered in class.
Bro. Flora is the man! I learned a ton in this class and gained a great appreciation for the things that were covered. If you put forth effort, you can get an A, and he'll help you. His exams are pretty hard, but just pay attention to what he says in on there, and if he doesn't say in class, he'll tell you if you ask. TAKE HIS CLASS!!!
Light hearted and Inspiring!
He is such a great guy! I really enjoyed him as a teacher!! Super sweet and really concerned with the students!!
Brother Flora is a great teacher, however I have never taken a foundations class that had tests as difficult as his, and a foundations teacher that graded as hard as he did. If I could go back I would probably have taken it from someone else. I learned a lot from his class, but its not worth it with how hard he grades and the tests.
He is the best humanities teacher ever. If you are willing to put forth the effort to you learn you will definitely learn. He is passionate about what he teaches and I really like his teaching style. You will come out of there will a better appreciation for how our society is today. I definitely recommend taking a humanities class from him.
Brother Flora is very knowledgable about Humanities. However, he requires a lot of work and his tests are pretty hard. It was by far my hardest foundations class.
Brother Flora was a great professor! He is very passionate about what he teaches. This class takes some work, but he is very helpful and kind. Totally recommend taking humanities from him!
He's a cool guy but he wasn't my favorite teacher. He is passionate about the topic, but he may have gotten a little too carried away. Some of the things that he taught were contrary to what I've learned over years of experience in music. Be prepared to read and study a lot. To pass his tests, read all articles!! Other than that, I enjoyed it!
He is really passionate about what he teaches and wants you to be as well. If you pay attention it is not hard.
I switched my major to Humanities because of this professor!
I'm going to be short and sweet if your taking FDCA because you need to don't take it from him this class is way too hard for for a foundations class. there is a crap load of work and the tests are so hard! So i warned you the rest of the people are right super amazing guy you learn a lot but if humanities is not your major don't even bother.
Brother Flora is a great teacher. He's very passionate about what he teaches and it shows in his lectures. He's also very helpful. I have a disability and he was more than willing to work with me despite my difficulties. His class isn't super easy but it's definitely worth taking, he's a great teacher and he's very understanding.
He says this class "Is your most important class of the semester" and sets so much work outside of class its unreal. He expects you to read a 400 page book in a week and create a study journal for it. If you like humanities and want a knowledgeable teacher, he's good - if you're taking the class as a mandatory foundations class - do not take him.
If you're a humanities major take this class, otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. Anyone in their right mind would realize the work load for this class is unreal. He is very passionate about this class, but the homework is overboard and he is a tough grader. Random pop quizzes as well on material you didn't know you need to read.
Brother Flora knows what he is talking about. He does assign a lot of homework, especially at the end of the semester. His tests are hard. He gives you a study guide and the study guide barely scratches the surface of what is on the test. He doesn't grade too harshly, but if put the effort in, it's an easy class.
Do not take him I had way more homework in this class than all of my classes combined (yes even all my classes required for my major) he expects you to spend all your time doing hw and reading for his class. All he says for the tests are to review from the whole semester which is not helpful since you read so much that he doesn't talk about in clas
Pick ANY other teacher for this class. He gives out way too much homework for a foundation class and rarely talks about it in class, gets off topic in lectures often and all the tests are based on the countless articles you have to read which he doesn't go over in class. Not very helpful if you need something, pretty rude actually. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Amazing teacher learned so much!
I love Brother Flora
This class was hard and at first I hated it but he is so passionate and makes you learn! I am so glad I had him and he really pushed me to learn the material, I love humanities and he's a great professor. Be prepared for the tests they are hard. If you do bad on a few assignments with extra credit you can still get an A, I highly recommend him.
Brother Flora is just a really good guy. He really has a passion for humanities and it shows when he teaches. However, his class is a lot of work. If you put in effort, you'll get a good grade. You don't have a text book but you read 2 or 3 books in a semester.
I absolutely LOVED Brother Flora. Yes, I won't lie, this class will challenge you. But I liked it because it didn't feel like an extension of high school where I was babied. His view on grading is like the atonement (you can always retry... but no death bed "repentance". You have to retake the test before the next one). He loves humanities!
If you want a visual of what Brother Flora looks like, then google "Jim Rash." They are twinsies. Anyway.. Brother Flora has so much passion for humanities and gets really into class discussions. I enjoyed going to his class and really do believe I learned a lot. If you take this class, make sure you do the work. If you don't, you'll fail.
Humanities from Brother Flora was by far my favorite class ever! He is so passionate about the subject and that makes it much more enjoyable. He usually assigns readings before class so be ready for that. But, any work he assigns is worth it because the class helps you become a better person! Would take again and again!
Brother Flora is a really inspirational teacher who really loves what he's teaching. However, he gives way more homework than you'd expect from a required, 100 level class.
Brother Flora is just a really great guy. His energy for the subject is contagious. He is a huge part of why I decided to pursue a PhD in Art History. I was going through a really tough time while taking his course. He was more than willing to work with me. Really great professor.
Brother Flora enjoys teaching, but does not convey his knowledge well. 10-15 minutes of every class are spent telling the class they are not trying and is a repeat of Sunday (he is a bishop). After he finishes his rant he rushes through the rest of class to compensate for poor time management. Has a schedule but does not follow. Tests difficult
His class was amazing. Inspired me through his love of the Arts to do better in my studies and life in general. I still use what I learned in the class through random conversations I encounter through the day. And I am not a Humanities or Art Major! He is a friend to anybody and everybody.
Brother Flora is an excellent professor. He really loves what he teaches and is able to make you love it too. Although we had a lot of assignments, they were the same in all foundations classes. You need to go deeper in his assignments to be able to get a 100%, but he helps you a lot if you have questions!
Brother Flora takes a subject I hate, and turns it into something amazing. He is an excellent, dedicated professor. I would recommend him to anyone!
Brother Flora is pretty great. He definitely tried to make lectures include interesting things that keep you from getting bored. His teaching style is very clear and straightforward. He gives a lot of outside projects and readings, but as long as you stay on top of them, you'll do great!
Brother Flora makes humanities really interesting which is great. But beware-- he does give a lot of homework assignments. But, he's not a harsh grader so as long as you complete the assignments you're golden! The tests are a little hard. I didn't study very hard for them at all and I felt very unprepared, but you know it better than you think!
If you want a professor who is super proactive in helping you to understand and succeed, don't take him. Brother Flora is very lecture heavy, will even take the whole time lecturing. Doesn't answer many questions, and takes days if at all to respond to emails. I would never take another class for him.
Brother Flora has a love and excitement for the subject matter that makes it easier to want to go to class. He engages the class and will throw sarcastic comments back at you. He does have you read quite abit but its not an overly insane amount
He really likes the course he teaches. I love his enthusiasm. I just had a very difficult time getting into what he teaches. If you like to read les miserables and Macbeth you will enjoy his teaching. If you like to memorize everything about art and music he is the teacher for you.
Brother Flora was passionate about what he taught, I'll give you that. Nevertheless he got off topic so many times during lectures, that he would try to cram it all in at the end of class, making note taking impossible! Then he would expect you to know that stuff for the test!
Brother Flora is amazing! He's so kind, funny, & understanding. I love how passionate he is about humanities. Flora genuinely cares about his students. Make sure to show up for class or you will miss important material essential for tests & assignments. There is a fair amount of reading for his class, but that's to be expected. I highly recommend!
Brother Flora is very passionate about the humanities which makes it fun to be in his class, but prepare yourself for a decent amount of work outside of class. We read Les Miserables, did an out-of-class group project, had to memorize many pieces of art, music, and architecture, their composers, time period, etc. It's tricky, but worth it.
Very passionate about humanities. I trust that he knows the class well, but does not help you. He literally ignores when you ask an obvious question. Gets distracted easily, doesnt know how to fit a lesson into one class. Does not discuss a lot in class, then expects you to know everything for the tests or quizzes. Wouldnt ever recommend him.
Brother Flora is very passionate about the world of Humanities. He is very well versed in the subject and enjoys teaching it. However, this class was very difficult. He and his TA's grade everything harshly. This class took up most of my time. There is a LOT of homework and reading almost every night.
If you want to enjoy Humanities, don't take it from him. He thinks we all have the same mentality as him. I actually loved learning about this class, but I did not enjoy it because of him.
Bro. Flora teaches a really good class but is tough on the tests. He will make you work for that A. You will read two books so be prepared to take time reading. He has you go to three event relating to the arts and write about them. You are put into groups of four and will have to work together on somethings.
Overall he is a good option for fulfilling your GE in humanities even though he is definitely harder than some other teachers on campus. If you take his class it will be hard at time but you will learn the subject a lot better.
I really enjoyed Brother Flora's class. He's definitely passionate about what he teaches and is VERY specific as to what he expects you to do in the class. Although he does not always respond to emails, he's happy to speak with you after class about any discrepancies or questions you have and he's willing to help you exceed. I learned a tons
Very difficult class. We usually had a large assignment and 4-5 smaller assignments due every week. We read several books, and he rushed us through them. The tests were extremely hard, lots of art and music pieces to completely memorize. Most people who got A's were spending the full 8 hours a week on his class that he recommended.
Brother Flora is very passionate about his job, and about everything that has to do with his job. However, when he grades he is not very clear, and some of the assignments' instructions are not clear either. He is an amazing person, but the content in his class is overwhelming. I have more grey hair because of this class.
Brother Flora really wants his students to pass and if you go to him for help, he'll give it to you. To get an A is pretty easy since the weekly assignments are quite simple. He lets your drop certain scores and allows notes for exams, he designs the course for you to pass as well as learn. Great teacher!
Brother Flora is a very nice guy, but if you're looking for homework that's more than required then you're in the right class. His workload is very heavy and if you really want a good grade, forget focusing on your other classes. He doesn't really go into materials that you need to prepare you for quizzes or exams. He doesn't make art enjoyable.
Awesome teacher. All of the (FD)Hum110 classes go over the same material so he doesn't give out any more homework than other teachers of the same class. He is passionate about what he teaches. Gives study guides for exams. TA does a study session for the exams and tutors. Works with students. Do the readings and you'll be fine.
Prof. Flora has been teaching for years so he really knows his stuff. Class content is very good. I didn't like how he seemed to assume everyone was a party animal out of high school. He talked about cheating a lot, almost as if he expected you to cheat. That is definitely a barrier, and I didn't want to talk to him when I struggled because of it.
Art History 1: This was a good class, and you definitely learn a lot, but be prepared for a HEAVY workload. You're expected to read a chapter every week and work on a study guide, while also working on big papers, and a project (if you are an art major). I spent the majority of my time doing homework for this class.
I absolutely loved Brother Flora! He is a great teacher and he is really passionate about Art History. Throughout the class, we had 2 hands-on projects , 4 tests (including the final), and 3 "portfolios" which involved a LOT of research. Don't let the work scare you, tho! He is an easy grader and really cares about his students doing well.
Brother Flora is a great professor. His class definitely takes a lot of time (most of my time was spent working on stuff for this class each week) but the homework that he assigns prepares you very well for the exams. Follow the study guides, especially the questions at the end, and you will pass every exam. He is very clear about what he requires.
Brother Flora is the most passionate professor Ive ever had. He loves the subject he teaches and he cares so much about the well being of his students. Incredible class! Take it and prepare to love art history!!!
Brother Flora is a really passionate and amazing dude. He really cares about his students and will work with you to help you succeed. The class has a lot of homework but everything we did was super informational and I learned the most from this class this semester. There is a semester-long project of a web portfolio that is worth half the grade.
Bro. Flora is very spiritual and caring about his students. However, the course is extremely hard. Prepare for a TON of homework/busy work. A lot of projects (group project included) and tedious work. The tests are very unfair, you are expected to memorize every detail of the unit/study guide. Don't take this if you just need a hum/arts credit.
If you are a person who is more creative than logical, and is interested in some aspect of the humanities, I think you will really like this course taught by Brother Flora! He gives out a lot of homework, and there are a few books you have to read. Be sure to actually read the books. The tests are super easy if you study an average amount of time.
Nice guy, but mister busy work. The type of professor that is trying to convince you that humanities isn't an easy subject. He gives tons of busy work, somewhat pointless lengthily papers. If you don't really care about humanities, this is not your guy. He targets students that just take the class as an easy elective by drowning them with homework!
Do everything in your power to avoid taking a class from Brother Flora. He's lacks confidence in his teaching and makes it obvious he regrets getting his degree in Humanities. Yikes.
Brother Flora is very kind and passionate about art history, which was really evident. He cares for his students and was forgiving to me several times for turning in a few things late (he understands if you obviously care and work hard). There is a lot of reading and lectures, but as long as you do your part the class is do-able!
Brother Flora is a very passionate man when it comes to teaching humanities, but be warned, he assigns a LOT of busy work. Off-topic tangents are common during class (Attendance is required) and most material is either rushed at the end of class or learned outside of class. Overall not worth the time/stress considering it to be a 100 lvl class.
he is a good teacher but not great. he is kind of quiet and goes on tangents. he assigns a lot of busy work but it's easy enough. he often talks about certain books or movies like he assumes everyone already knows about them. the things he mentions are relevant to the class but you have to already know about them cuz their not assigned.
Bro Flora truly cares about his students and loves what he teaches
I love Brother Flora, I think it was the class that was difficult. He gives long lectures with lots of info, and it gets really difficult to remember material for exams, though I've never been good at remembering dates or history. Weekly readings required, but his class is about as good as it's gonna get. Put in the effort and you'll do well!
You can tell Br. Flora is very passionate about what he is teaching. His class is, however, very reading heavy. The tests are difficult and you have a couple projects throughout the semester which depend on what your major is. If you are an art major you have to recreate a piece of artwork over 5-7 hrs which sounds like a lot but is pretty doable.
He talks a lot in class but about anything other than what you need to learn. I almost felt like I was in a religion class instead of an Art History class.
By himself he is great! Very kind and understanding. However his projects and tests can be a LOT. The tests are very difficult even if you study hard. Be prepared to read a LOT in his class and I mean a lot. There will be a handful of mandatory group projects. If you like a challenge with a great professor take this class otherwise I don't suggest
Bro Flora is so awesome. I loved his class. He is kind, generous, and works with you, rather than against. His classes are lecture-based, so make sure you take notes. He lets you have a note-card on the final and midterm, and provides a study guide. He does essays for final/midterms, and gives you the essay questions to study. He's amazing! 10/10
Great teacher! Very knowledgeable about his subject, and you could tell he was lecturing based off of his own knowledge instead of just the slides. He kept class as lively as he could(because at some point art history just makes you tired), but I never actually fell asleep! Very test heavy, but there was one group project, and it was very doable.
He's a great teacher! It's really hard to study for the tests. The tests take 2-4 hours to complete. It's just about as much work as you'd expect from a 3 credit class, and he will curve the grade sometimes.
He has 3 tests throughout the semester and 3 projects. Follow the instructions with the project, and you'll get an A. For the test, if you pay attention in class and fill the notecard, you'll at least get a high B. The hardest part of this class is the amount of reading he asks you to do, but you aren't graded heavily on the reading.
