He teaches microbio that's necessary for nursing majors. Extremely intelligent and interesting. It's tough, but definitely worth it. I learned a ton and it is information I will actually use for the rest of my life and career.

Dr. Furrer is and amazing professor! He is incredibly helpful and he keeps his lectures interesting! You can definitely tell that he knows what he is talking about and enjoys what he does which makes the class even better! Its a hard class but if you pay attention you should have no problem. BEST TEACHER EVER! So funny, keeps your attention, available to meet, uses histograms and stats to grade instead of a set scale which sounds scary but in reality will help in the long run. He even memorizes everyone's name in a large lecture class; now that's what I call dedication! Take his class! Lot's of material so study a little every night.

Best professor I've had at mizzou, a difficult class. He makes you earn your grade, requires adequate studying but by far my favorite class I've ever had. Print off power points and take notes on them, you can't keep up with the speed of the lectures if you try to write all the notes down unless you do it ahead of time.

This cat knows his stuff. I'm a freshman nursing major who thought this would be another boring prereq, and man, was this class a blast. All my other junk at MU now is so dull. By far the BEST teacher I have ever had. This class is amazing and you definitely learn a lot. Keep up with the notes and go over the material each week and you will get an A. He wants you to pass. He does grade distributions for each test questions so if the average is below a certain number he will get rid of it. Get to know him if you are going into nursing school he has a large influence on who gets in.

Best teacher I have ever had! Really challenged me, but also inspired me. Greatest class ever, you will learn so much and feel so accomplished at the end. So interesting and a hilarious guy. He will throw chairs across the stage to act out how the body is working to fight diseases! I would recommend to everyone, even non-science majors.

Attending lectures isn't that important, however it's better to do so. Homework is very important, and it helps reinforce some lecture material. Lots of opportunity to get extra credit, but don't bank on it saving your grade. Excellent lectures, use laptop for notes, and STUDY. You won't pass if you don't study.

I LOVE DR.FURRER! Students have access to the semester's pace/content in advance. This made it easy for me to stay on track. SO HELPFUL since this course is content HEAVY. Students watch lectures on their own time, class time are useful discussions. There is no such thing as a "stupid question" in his class. He actually cares for his students!

This professor is FABULOUS. Never have I met someone so entertaining and passionate about what they teach. My best advice is to stay on track with the notes/voicethread lectures. Dr. Furrer WANTS his students to be successful!! I have never had a professor who was as caring and respected in their field as he is! You can tell how much he cares on the topics he teaches as well as your performance in the course.

While this class was very hard and test were intensive, this class was worth it because of Furrer. He genuinely cares about students as an individual and that you are actually learning. He brings his dogs to class and also has a candy cart that he allows his students to pull from. If you have a learning disability make sure you have extended test.

Genuinely the greatest man ever. Also the freest class you could take. I got an 86/100 on the final but he gave 15 "free" points for it so I ended up with an 86/85. The lectures take a lot of time and I almost dropped the class after the first section because it was so boring but I'm very happy I stuck with it. Brings dogs to lab and gives candy!
