Made US History Fun, Papers were interesting, Exams were hard if you don't read but he gives Study Guide and lengthy review, Oral presentations are not fun but it is not mandatory that you speak cause it is a group assignment, he seems to actually care if the students do well in his class, take him if you can
Lectures are not the most interesting but he is extremely knowledgable, group work and exam review make it easy to get a decent grade
He's a really cool guy and keeps the class pretty interesting. If you pay attention, you will do well. He's not bad to look at either.
Have him for US History 1 now. This is my first semester at OCC and he is by far the best out of all my professors.
There are so many things Mr. Ghibesi... soooo many things.
Really nice guy. If you have any problems, he's more than happy to help you out. Just take the notes, study, and you'll do just fine.
One of the best I had, paper topic is actually enjoyable. He is one of the few teachers who doesn't seem to be against the students. Take him! I have him for US History 1 taking him for West Civ 2 in Jan.
Very nice guy, lectures are clear, gives study sheet a week before the test, exams are difficult if you don't study but easy if you do (no suprises), paper is difficult.. MLA format is not easy. He is the best I had so far
Very fair, clear, nice.
Very Helpful, Presents everything on powerpoint so you get all the notes. Test comes right from the class notes and he gives a study guide. His paper is difficult on the Bill of Rights and he grades papers hard. However, it was an overall good experience. I would take him again. Gives Extra Credit. Seems to be a liberal and sort of excentric
Professor Ghibesi was the best professor. He presents all the info via power point & if you miss any or miss class, he will e-mail them to you. He gives open note tests and is very leanent with grading. Only 2 papers the whole semester. Take him quick term if you can. He is great!
he is very easy, gives you what you need to know for all test with study guides. my class had only one paper and it was really easy, and theres no homework. oh and p.s hes banging
class is extremely boring..powerpoint notes and he reads them word for word..BUTTT!! he gives you study guide with everything on it before a test, lets you make up the tests and hes bangin. dont take the notes..go to sleep and look everything up on the study guide before the test. easy A
Had him for Western Civ. 1. Class is fair and well organized. Study Guide's given before each test, one lengthy paper, several smaller papers, a group presentation.. I got a B+, he is easy going as far as attendance. Lectures are interesting and clear. He is hot, almost too hot to be a teacher.
Have him for Western Civ. 2. Interesting Lectures, uses power point so you get everything important, knowledgable... Take him if you can
History of Civil Society is an interesting class. Ghibesi is fair, tests are all essay questions, he gives extra credit. Lectures are interesting, he gets the class involved in alot.
One of the most interesting History classes.. Tests can be difficult, Final was open notebook...
Have him now for State and Local Government Online. Class and assignments are clear. If you complete the work you seem to do well. Straight Forward class.
His class was a requirement for me and I was never a fan of Politics. I was suprised that I enjoyed this class and like Prof. Ghibesi. I am actually taking him again for his Civil Society class. I recommend him highly.
I hate history! me n my bf took this guy and he made history class real easy! power point :( but study guide for tests! use book for test then in class. might have a few assignments but cake work. 1 major paper but this guy is willin to help an answer questions jus a overall easy A and a nice professor!
I forgot to add he has extra credit oppurtunities as well!!!!!deffinetly would seek him for another history class!
Overall, good teacher. Tests were fair. Gives study guide before final and midterm.
American Federal Govern. was a great class. I learned alot from Prof. Ghibesi. I am taking him again this semester for State and Local Government.
I have Prof.Ghibesi for History of Civil Society, a class I thought I would dread going to every day. He is the best prof. that I have had in a long time. He is very helpful, he doesn't give an enormous amount of work: one 5min presentation, a simple research paper and an easy mid-term.
Professor Ghibesi is a great professor! Just a couple of small papers, a midterm paper, a final paper, and a reaction paper on a novel! Very fair grader and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this professor!
Great professor. If you're taking U.S. II, I would highly reccomend him. It's not easy, but he's clear and concise and will help you if you ask. One paper to write on any topic affecting U.S. history from 1869 on. An extra credit opportunity, and just a generally caring professor.
This guy was great! I got an A in this class online. No silly multiple choice quizzes online, just a weekly assignment, a midterm, a final, and a research paper. He was encouraging and graded fairly unlike some professors! Take this class!
Took his class online in the first 5 week summer course. Not bad, just do the work and you basically get a 100 on the assignment ( but with reasonable answers) didn't get my final grade back yet, but it can't be lower than a c. i thought he was great!
I really enjoyed History of Civil Society. At first I thought this class was going to be real boring, but Prof. Ghebesi made the class fun. I really enjoyed the group assignments and debate. Take this class if you need history!!
I have Prof. Ghibesi for History of Civil Society in America. I had him in the past for Western Civilization 1 and American Gov. He is a great teacher. Tests are hard if you don't study. He gives you a study guide for the midterm and final. Take him!
The class is a lot of reading, and the text is just documents, there is no discussion, no clarification or interpretation of what your reading. Have to rely on google a lot to understand and comprehend to text.
This Professor is very knowledgable and class is interesting. I was not interested in State and Local Government but enjoyed the class.
History of Civil Society was an excellent class. Read, take notes, do the online assignments and you will do just fine.
very helpful and knew absolutely everything about state and local gov.learned alot.
I DONT KNOW HOW HE IS IN CLASS BUT ONLINE HE IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS. THE POWER POINTS HE HAS ARE FROM THE BOOK AND DO NOT HELP HE WONT LET YOU MAKE UP TESTS IF U MISS ONE AND EACH WEEK YOU READ A CHAPTER, ANSWER 3 OR 4 QUEST IN THREADED DISCUSSION & TAKE AN ASSESSMENT. HE IS THE MOST USELESS ONLINE TEACHER I HAVE HAD SO FAR. DROPPED THIS CLASS.
the first person who posted is wrong hes a horrible online teacher and makes you take multiple choice quizzes every week!! he doesnt help at all you never get feedback from him and he doesnt allow makeups for anything and offers no extra credit. highly reccommend choosing someone else.
I have him now for World Civilization. I am doing very well in this course so far. Complete a 25 question, open book quiz for each chapter, do discussions and a final paper. Class is straight foward.
He's terrible. You come to class and he just lectures for an hour. He gives you a packet with some information about the current piece of study and then tells you it's due in a week or so. There is no discussion in class. His test "reviews" are useless. He is not specific about what he wants you to know. I can't wait till this class is over.
Prof. Ghibesi is very helpful. Really helped us to understand the politics of New Jersey. Highly Recommend!
Intro to Public Administration was a very interesting class. Class was laid back and Prof. Ghibesi was easy to talk to. Extra Credit opportunities to improve your grade. This prof is excellent in class and is also my advisor! I am planning on taking more classes with him in the future. I think every student should take him for Public Admin.!
I am really enjoying State and Local Government. We have fun class discussions on current events. Professor is a political expert and brings his experience to the classroom. I LOVE this class!! Tests are difficult so you must read the book as well as the handouts! Gives extra credit!!
Started off REALLY hard but as we went on it got much easier. Love him!
I took him for History of Civil Society online and got an A in the class. Weekly assignments and he wants your answers backed up with references from the readings, outside sources, etc. This is expected since it is a COLLEGE course, so don't expect an easy A. If you do the work the way he wants it, you will do fine.
Prof Ghibesi actually loves what he does. Loves what he's talking about. The class was a little difficult but as long as you read the text and take notes should be fine. When you have questions he has no problem explaining something further for you to understand. Offers xtra credit. He really is a nice guy, cracks a cple jokes every so often.
This professor is amazing. He makes the topic fun. You have to take his class, you will not regret it!
Perhaps it was just because it was online, but I did not think he was the best teacher. If you have a question regarding a test and one of its questions. He ignores the e-mail. Like I said. . . He is probably far better in person. Do not take his class online.
I absolutely love coming to this class. Prof. Ghibesi is the best. I had him last semester for Public Administration as well. I learned so much from him and he is EASY on the eyes!
This was my favorite course last semester, Prof Ghibesi is my favorite teacher at OCC. Class was always fun and we had a lot of interesting discussions. Prof. Ghibesi is always available to help if you need it. I will take him again in the future.
I had a hard time in the beginning because it was the first time that i had taken an online class.I had professor Ghibesi for two summer session courses. He was vey helpful in his criicisms of essays, which helped for future essays.Online summer courses are a lot of work, but it was a great experience.
I had Professor Ghibesi several years ago at OCC. I have since moved on and graduated from Rutgers. Prof. Ghibesi is a teacher and person who I respect a great deal. It has been an honor to have him and still to this day I remember what I learned in his class. This professor will not only prepare you to transfer but will prepare you for life.
Prof. Ghibesi is an excellent teacher. I am currently in his International Relations class. I love coming to this class and learned a lot so far. I have an A in the class right now. Prof. Ghibesi teaches in a way in which you learn. Highly recommended!
Ghibesi is great! He knows his stuff and forces to us to learn for ourselves. If you want to learn a lot he can help.
I thought this was a straight forward class. Prof. Ghibesi returned assignments quickly. You will do well if you do the work.
tests are exactly from the book, it is what you make of it is you take the online course. requires a novel to be read and a 2000 word reaction paper to said novel.
International Relations was my favorite class this semester. Prof. Ghibesi always brought current events into the class. Most classes involved discussion about what was going on in the world. I learned a lot this semester. Prof. Ghibesi is extremely knowledgable and hawt! I would definately take him in the future!!
There are soooo many things I love about this class. I had absolutely no interest in politics before entering this class. The professor is passionate about the material and teaches in a way that makes sure you learn. Always available to help students after class and during office hours. Tests are difficult if you do not take good notes.
Public Administration was an enjoyable class. The material can be dry but Prof. Ghibesi made it interesting. Highly Recommended.
Class consists of a lot of writing. Prof. Ghibesi is tough in his criticism, but his feedback is helpful. I improved a lot as the semester went on. I took this class over the summer and it was an overall good experience.
Class is straight forward. Discussion forums, exams and several assignments. The "All the King's Men" assignment can be difficult but he grades fairly. If you are willing to put in the effort you will do fine in this course.
I did not know what to expect from a Public Administration class. I took the class because it is a Criminal Justice requirement. I enjoyed the class a lot. Prof. Ghibesi teaches in a way that ensures that you learn. The tests are hard, however, his review is very helpful. Ghibesi is very helpful during office hours and helped me improve.
This class has weekly discussion boards that require a bit of writing. As long as you put the effort in and comment then you will receive a fair grade. He's great at communicating but sometimes his responses are delayed. I would take one of his classes again.
I am taking Prof. Ghibesi for Comparative Politics. This class is very interesting. Prof. Ghibesi is passionate about the material and knows how to get the class involved. Most classes involve a discussion. The exam comes from lecture notes so be sure to take good notes!
I liked this course and this professor a lot. I took this class as an honors class. The professor was very helpful while I completed my honors research. Midterm and Final are straight forward and based on class notes. I was never interested in politics before this class but now I am.
International Relations is a challenging class, but if you put the time in you will get a lot out of it. Prof. Ghebesi seems to love what he does and is always available for help. I can pretty much recite what Liberalism and Realism are in my sleep!!! Thanks for a great class!
Really nice teacher. You just actually have to show up and be respectful. He's not fond of phones because it's his job to teach you. Honestly really never do anything besides take notes of his lecturespower points which really isn't much. You just get a few assignments that count for a lot but aren't due for weeks.
I am taking Global Issues now and absolutely LOOOOOOVE this class! I look forward to this class more than the others I am taking. Prof. Ghibesi talks about a lot of current events with us. This is one of the only classes where people actually talk! I am going to miss this class when it is over. I will take him again for something soon!
The History of Civil Society was an enjoyable class. Lots of writing assignments and essay question exams. Prof. Ghibesi is tough with his feedback, however, if you listen to his comments you will improve. Responds to emails and grades quickly compared to my other online classes. If you do the work you will do well!
ONLY CLASS I ENJOYED GOING TOO!!!! I loved loved loved this class. Every class was interactive. I looked forward to this class every week. We talked about a lot of current events. Midterm, Final, Presentation, Reaction Papers and Research Paper. Take good notes, the exams come from the lectures.
loved, loved, loved this class :)and looked forward to every class )
Comparative Politics was a great class. Prof. Ghibesi assigned a research project on country's political system, a midterm, a final, a group presentation and several reaction papers. The workload was manageable. If you are interested in international politics this is a course you would like.
I had professor Ghibesi for Comparative Politics and Government. This class was very informative. Each week we studied a different countries government. Prof. Ghibesi talked about a lot of current events. I enjoyed this class and will take him again if I have the chance. Take good notes, because most of the exam comes his lectures.
I am in this class now and plan on taking Comparative Government with him next semester. Most classes consist of lectures and discussion. It is expected that we follow current events and participate. The Midterm came from his lectures, so pay attention and take good notes. I learned a lot so far.
I took him online for Global issues and it was bad. Every quiz was timed 10 minutes. There were 10 questions. I felt like that was not fair. I am not big into Politics but I took it to learn something which I did. His assignments were great and I learned a lot about different countries. The quizzes though I feel should not be timed.
He is the best!! Had him for American Government, Public Administration and he was also my Internship Mentor. Must take!!
International Relations was a good class. I learned a lot about what is going on in the world. I also went on the trip to the United Nations which was fun. Take this class.
Professor Ghibesi is an amazing professor. His style of teaching is intuitive and makes you think philosophically. His lectures are fun while being informative, never boring. You will definitely learn a lot from him, but you have to put in the work. Pay attention, do the assignments, participate. TAKE HIM TAKE HIM!
I like his lectures he really explains the information well. They are long but not boring or painful. 5/6 page paper at the end. Only a midterm and a final. Could write whatever we wanted on the study guide for the midterm, not sure on the final, didnt take it yet. Even using the study guide the test questions are kinda hard but not impossible.
He was pretty average, not good or bad. A lot of the lectures were boring though he was very knowledgeable. Don't need the book until the last paper. Only 2 papers and 2 tests so it's not really that much work.
Had him for American Politics. Most classes consisted of a lecture. I learned a lot about government. I have him now so I don't kno my grade but think that I did well. Grade is made up of two exams which are difficult, a paper and several assignments. Reading assignments were long but the class was interesting. He is very knowledgeable.
Great class!! So smart and interesting! Do your work and take notes.
Professor Ghibesi is a good choice for an introductory politics class. He makes things easy to understand and as long as you study the tests aren't hard. In POLI101 there are only two tests, so make them count. The textbook helps
I love going to the class. This particular class is small and we have pretty good discussions. The exams are essay questions, however, Prof. Ghibesi reviews beforehand. I would take him again if I could!
I took him for Public Administration online. Each week you have a quiz, paper and discussion. He graded very quickly and always provided feedback. Listen to his comments because it will help you improve on the next assignments. He takes a lot of points off for work that does not meet the minimum word count. I would take him again.
The best professor I've had so far at OCC!! Hes happy to help if you talk to him, very knowledgeable, and fair. He listens to different opinions, doesn't belittle anyone, and he teaches in a very non-bias way.
His Principles of Public Administration course online was ridiculously hard and he's an unfair grader on top of it. Every week is discussions, quizzes, and assignments and every other week seems like there is an exam. The quizzes are INSANELY hard and he doesn't give you any type of guideline of what to study for. The book is a necessity.
His Global Issues class is fair and interesting. Midterm/Final, a research paper on human trafficking and some shorter assignments that are usually due in two weeks. I am enjoying this class even though it is at 8 AM. I would take him again. Nice class to take for a diversity requirement.
I have him for an online class right now. I have an A in the class and we don't have much time left. Grading seems to be pretty clear and all of the assignments are available at the beginning of the semester. Make sure that you respond to two classmates posts, include sources and hand in everything on time and you will be fine.
Took him for global issues, every class was an hour and fifteen minutes of drawn out, boring lecture. Class was easy and is easy to pass if you take good notes, which is extremely hard with his almost illegible hand writing. He also does not answer emails, of any kind. could have been worse, but definitely don't recommend.
Professor Ghibesi is excellent at teaching Political Science. I have him now, and I am very glad that I signed up for this course. Professor Ghibesi's lectures make up a large majority of this class, but they are very interesting. This class is fairly easy and the assignments aren't that bad. Overall, taking a class with Prof. G is a good idea.
I didnt know if I would like this class at first but I began to really enjoy it as the semester continued. Fair grader. Class had lots of discussion and he respected students opinions. I would take him again.
His class was okay as long as you take good notes to pass the two exams he gives. he does not respond to emails and he talks way too much. his notes arent as helpful for the test even if you take good ones. there isnt many assignments so your grades come from the paper that is due and the two exams. i wont be taking him again!
My favorite prof. I wouldnt take Political Science with anyone else. I miss his class. Non biased and respects everyones opinion. Take him! Grading is clear and fair.
Professor Ghibesi is fair, concise, and well spoken. He is not dismissive of ideas expressed in class (as some teachers can be), and the learning environment is welcoming to say the least. Laid back, learning a lot with ease in this class. I never felt pressured to overwork myself. Definitely Recommend this Professor. A++++++
Professor Ghibisi is alright as a professor. He's very well-spoken and knowledgeable. He's willing to help a student out with completing assignments, but he talks too much, and he's lecture heavy
Mr Ghibesi is a cool dude. Easy class, not much work. Gets a little boring at times but nothing to complain about.
I absolutely love Prof. Ghibesi. International Relations is my favorite class this semester. Our class is very discussion based. I am honestly going to miss going to this class. Grading is fair. Some group work. Overall a great experience.
Two essays, one was 8 pages. BORING lectures.. i skipped half the classes. A mid-term, a final, 8 discussion posts, and the essays. That was it. Very easy, didn't pay attention at all. He's very nice but not chill if that makes sense. Let us leave early sometimes. If u have to take global issues then go with him.
Excellent class and professor. Research paper focusing on a country is your choice, several small assignments, a midterm and final exam. The exams were online. I strongly recommend this class and professor.
Lecture-heavy class with a focus on class discussions. Midterm and final are both online, and two papers to write. The second paper is on a book given at the beginning of class. Not much work outside of those so make them count. As long as you read the textbook and the book given regularly you will be fine.
I loved this class. Prof. Ghibesi was my favorite teacher. He wants to see his students succeed and will be willing to help if you ask. Very approachable and knowledgeable. Class was highflex so some students were in class and some students were home/ on line. If you listen in class you will do fine. I strongly urge you to take his class.
Extremely lecture heavy, boring lectures that take up the entire class period, minimal questions asked to the class. Discussion assignments, papers and one 8 page research paper. Assignments are marked late with 20 points taken off even if it is submitted one minute late. If you have to take global issues this class is easy to pass.
I enjoyed International Relations with him. The work was manageable. He was a fair grader. I would take him again.
VERY LECTURE HEAVY He is a very sweet, kind man. His grading format is terrible though. If he doesn't like your response he will dock points. His midterm and finals were very vague in terms of studying for it. One Midterm One Final and One Research paper. You don't need to attend but I suggest you do. He made me hunger for knowledge. Bless his soul
Professor Ghibesi is very respectful of other peoples opinions and wants each student to succeed. He is a great guy and will work with you to achieve your goal. Class was informative and homework was light. I will be taking him again .
I thought this class would be harder then it was, my class was hybrid so attendance wasn't mandatory. There weren't tons of assignments only a few questions assigned from the textbook, and a few discussions. The exam at the end of the semester is open book, and there's one research paper. If you do show up to class, he's super lecture heavy.
I took this class Online and highly recommend Professor Ghibesi. This course was very informative and he is a fair grader. I would definitely take another one of his courses again.
Love him! My favorite class at OCC. Take him if you can.
Professor Ghibesi made difficult information very easy to digest. The class was relatively easy, and there was plenty of group work. He allows for "off-topic" political conversation within your groups which is sometimes much needed. He also cares about his students, as I reached out to him after graduation for a letter of rec and he happily did!
He is very lecture heavy and will let you out early. He does respond to emails quickly and is accessible outside of class. He's a nice guy but your grade is based on a midterm and final exam that's 50% of your grade, discussion posts that's 20%, and a paper on modern slavery from the book assigned. Reading the textbook is a must.
Prof Ghibesi is a great prof, he is available for any questions and will help explain any struggles. There is 1 research/analysis paper about a book assigned to read. Be aware of the due date for his discussions, your intial post is due a couple days before the assignmnet is due and your 2 peer responses are due on the actually due date.
Lectures can be dry, but Prof. Ghibesi is fair and wants students to succeed. Stay engaged, use the textbook, and take advantage of study tools like Unstuck ai to do well. Overall, a manageable course for global issues requirements.
He does talk a lot about the lectures, but I recommend writing everything down because it will be on exams.
I just finished POLI 101 with him. This was an online class. Work was straight forward and he graded quickly. I thought it was a fair class and would take him again. Workload was manageable and I felt that I had enough time to complete the work without too much stress.
Great professor and super active on campus. There are two tests that are worth a whopping 50% of your grade, but they are not that difficult and at home with open notes. There is also a research paper that is worth 30% of your grade; just put in the effort with it and you'll do good. There are few assignments and discussions worth 20%, all analyses
I absolutely loved this class and learned so much about US government. Prof. Ghibesi cares about his students and will help them succeed. He is very knowledgeable. Class consisted of a research paper, discussion boards, group assignments and 2 exams.
He is a good professor and his class was easy. There are 2 tests worth 50% of your grade and a final research essay that is worth 30%. However the tests are easy, online, and open book. The whole class period is just lectures and you have to read the textbooks to be prepared for class. He also had a few things that you could do for extra credit.
Professor Ghibesi is by far one of the best professors. He is not hard at all, and there are two test that you take at home. There are some group assignment, but most are not graded. Also, there are a lot of lectures and you must pay attention to them and he makes them interesting. He offers extra credit as well.
This professor was very knowledgeable and supportive. His lectures were clear, engaging, and well organized, and he provided study guides that helped students prepare effectively for exams. The workload was manageable, and he offered extra credit opportunities. Overall, the course was well structured and a positive learning experience.
