Awesome guy, very funny! Tons of cheesey math jokes. Easy on homework and test are pretty simple just do the homework and you'll know your stuff. Not spontanious and keeps to his silibus. Can be late to class, almost frequently :)

Great guy! Very nice math teacher. Fun to talk to outside of math class. His final exam was the easiest final I've ever taken. It was identical to the tests with only a change in the numbers. For an easy learning experience, Heinze is the way to go.

Very helpful Instructor and cute

Took Calc I from him...It was really fun. Coming to class is important as his lectures really clear up the material. Do the suggested homework, he puts almost the exact same problems on the tests. coming late is okay, funny guy.

If you've always hated math and always dreaded asking those class related questions you thought might make you look really, um, naive, then Jason and the classes he teaches might cure you of that for good. It worked for me. He's a fun guy and a talented teacher. If you let him know you didn't understand something, he'll help you out.

best math professor around! if you dont understand something in class catch him in his office hour. he will work with you until you understand and he wont get frustrated with you or make you feel stupid. Funny and very fair in grading. Great guy!!

Jason is a really good teacher. He doesn't make you feel stupid when you ask questions and he is always willing to help. I would recommend him to anyone that has to take a math class at OC.

This teacher is very nice. He is definitely excited about math and also excited when student's do well. He does tell those cheesy math jokes, but they make you laugh and shed the stress for the moment.

I took 124 and 125 with Jason. Young and very down to earth. Not a hard class if you just keep up with the problems from the book. Straightforward tests. Very helpful in class and outside. A couple projects, but do able and he will help you with them.

If I'd paid more attention to the very solid lessons and less to the very solid muscle whenever Jason reached up to erase the board, I prolly woulda done better^_^

Excellent teacher. Coming from someone who hates math, I can tell you that he is clear, helpful, and makes math easier. Everything is explained multiple times, always answers questions, and if you do the homework and listen in class, you will not only feel prepared for your exams, you will do well on them. Great prof!

Best math teacher I've ever had. Crystal clear explanations, doesn't move on till the last student get its. Extremely tolerant of people, friendly, understanding. One of the best professors I've ever had, will be taking him for 142 and driving to Poulsbo to do it.

Anyone who doesn't think Mr. Heinze is an incediable math teacher, never attended his lecture. He is willing to stop & help you understand a problem in the middle of lecture, he wants you to succeed. You need to attend class though, since that where you get all the information. Would highly recomend him, especially if math is difficult for you.

First Math course EVER taken and I am HORRIBLE at math. I was very nervous going into, then I got Mr.Heinze. He is an AMAZING math teacher. I'm even working my schedule next quarter around his next math class just so I can have him again. He actaully wants you to do well and succeed. Also, always has a smile on his face. Simply incredible.

I had Heinze for PreCalcus, and he is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He's a nice guy, he seems to always be in a good mood, he's always willing to help, and most of all he does a great job of teaching math in a way that actually helps you learn it. He really is a great math teacher- if you have him, be glad.

Hands down best teacher I have ever had, Im not just talking best college teacher I mean best teacher from Kindergarten until now. He is so nice, so patient and somehow made me understand math (which I have never been able to do) I would NOT take any other teacher for math ever!

Absolutely great teacher. Unfortunately, he left halfway through the class as his wife was having his first child and he needed to help her. But when he was there, he was not only super helpful, but super clear. Each class felt very important- not like he was wasting our time. Very good teacher, highly recommend.

BEST MATH TEACHER EVER!!! Jason makes math fun and interesting his teaching style is the "I do, You do, We do together" and if you attend class and take notes then you will learn alot and pass, he also is always willing to help and explain things in a different way if needed, you dont use the book just web assign for HW, i wouldn't waste your money

Mr. Heinze is an amazing math teacher. If you have a hard time with Math, he is definitely the professor to take. He gives you examples, and online homeworks assignments. He makes it fun!

if your coming into this class becaause of pr req. you will have no trouble at all. i came into this class just slideing by in math and i know if i would have had him in high school i would have passed every math class with an a.he is awesome and helps so much. does practice problems in the class so you will acually learn something. GREAT TEACHER!

Jason is an amazing teacher...he wants students to actually learn the concepts and not just go through the motions....he goes above and beyond to help any student....made class as interesting as math can be (I hate math) and will go over any material until the whole class understands the general concepts

One of the best teachers at OC! He gives partial credit and will give extra credit if needed for the class. He explains things in English, not textbook talk! He answers questions until you understand the material. I could not have picked a better teacher for calculus 2. Loved this teacher!

Great teacher. Clear and concise. The material is just hard in a 6 week summer quarter.Mentioned some kinda song about a formula but didn't say what it was or sing it though. :o( lol. Highly recommended.

Professor Heinze was a fantastic professor! He doesn't use a textbook but has you buy a subscription to an online website which is extremely cheap. He's more than willing to answer questions in class and is quick to respond to emails. He was my first college professor and I hope to take more classes from him in the future.I highly recommend him!

Extremely helpful, we used the system Aleks to do all our work, he explained the system very carefully. He segmented the day in 4 parts, Work for 30 minutes, lecture for 30 minutes , work for 30 minutes and lecture until class was over. Overall very helpful and interesting !! Got a 4.0 in his class.

He is an excellent teacher and has tutors in the classroom to help you. He uses the Aleks program, which is an online, self-based, self-based program. I finished the class 1 month and a few days early. You are not required to go to class either. I recommend him and the Aleks program.

Mr. Heinze is thoroughly invested in his students. he explains math in a way I think anyone could understand. Also he reassures you when you are uncertain at how well you are doing. Great guy Great teacher. I recommend him for anyone!

I took Henize for three quarters, and he was an excellent instructor! Explains things very well, does plenty of examples on the board, draws diagrams, gives alternate ways of solving problems. Sometimes takes extra time to explain a topic if someone needs help. I highly recommend his class.

Jason is absolutely awesome! By far the best teacher Olympic College has to offer. He is fair and willing to help you succeed. He is also a beautiful person with good morals and ethics. A great example to all.

Mr. Heinze was amazing, one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He explained things well which made it easy to learn the concepts, and he made little jokes in class and was a really easy grader. He's a really comfortable professor to be around, if you ask a question, he will go out of his way to try to help you. Just a perfect guy in general.

Great teacher, very thorough lectures, and always willing to help and answer questions. Notebooks were required to take notes in, and were checked for credit.

Best math teacher O.C. has. You will not be disappointed if taking his class. Just be sure to put in the time like in any class and you'll learn something and will gain his respect as well.

Take Heinze if you get the chance! Extremely understanding teacher and his lectures really help you understand the problems. I would take every math class with him if I was able too! This class was taught through the Aleks program and I absolutely loved it!

Math 99 with ALEKS is fast paced, however clear and easy to follow. You will need to put in the hours in order to pass, but Jason will be there to push.

I went back to college after a 10 year hiatus and was terrified of math. Mr. Heinze ensured all of my questions were answered and all of my needs were met. I would definitely a class from him in the future. You won't regret having his as an instructor.

I took his class summer quarter and it was really easy. Hes a fun teacher and liked by his students. He gives out a lot of homework but its easy to keep up. Would defiantly take again and recommend to any one looking to learn.

Heinze is one the most engaging professors I have had at Olympic. He makes sure to get the point across in his lectures and he does it so well we rarely have questions to ask. He also seems pretty passionate about teaching students higher mathematics, so if you're looking to pursue a major that involves math, take Heinze as much as possible.

He is hand down one of the greatest math professor in Olympic College. I never really like math, but he changed the way I feel about math because his teaching were so engaging.

Jason Heinze is by far the best teacher I have ever had! He is so clear at explaining math. I have NEVER been good at math and he made me feel so smart, simply because he KNOWS how to teach! Not to mention he is super friendly and never makes you feel dumb for asking questions.

Great teacher who will work with you. He wants his students to succeed, especially if you are doing the work. I had him for Math 90A, Math90B, and Math 98. I highly recommend this teacher. You want to be at every class, especially with Math98.

I have taken Professor Heinze for two classes now and loved both of them. He explains things in a way that allows you to comprehend exactly what you are doing. I also have suggested him to three other students and all of them have returned to tell me they gained a lot out of his classes. I wish more teachers were able to teach like he does.

Mr Heinze is really sweet. He genuinely wants you to do well in class and succeed. He uses the math program ALEKS which I found really helpful as well, but his explanations and lectures are the best. He always answers questions and is probably the best math teacher I've ever had. If I could have my next math class taught by him I would! But alas it's not to be. Seriously though, he's 110% great.

Mr. Heinze is a sweet and caring teacher who encourages students to try their hardest. His lectures are easy to listen to, but also easy to tune out of. The online program associated with his 099 class, ALEKS, was very intuitive and easy to understand right off the bat. The course material was difficult at times but he made it easy to understand.

I took this class in Aleks, which was an online course with lots of work, but it really helped you learn the material. He's also pretty handsome, really sweet and caring.

I had this teacher math 90a/90b and am taking him again next quarter for 99. He made me not hate math, which after being out of college for over five years is a tough job. He really cares and goes out of his way to help his students. I would recommend this teacher.

Professor Heinze is the best math teacher ever! I would take a class from him over any of the other 3 math teachers I've had since 90B. He's very helpful and understanding about absences as long as you communicate with him. Very funny and genuine!

I've had prof. Heinze for 90A and 90B and if I had the chance I would have him again in a heartbeat. He really cares about his students and wants them to pass. He does lecture a bit but he is always clear and makes it easy to understand. I would 100% recommend him to anyone.

Heinze is an amazing teacher. He is caring and understands that life happens. There is a test every week that you take on the website he uses called "aleks." There are approximately 40 something lessons to be done every Sunday which is not too hard if you stay on top of it. Definitely would take again and 100% recommend this teacher.

Mr Heinze is a really easy going teacher. Super funny and understanding to peoples needs. I took this class expecting it to be hard bc I have always struggled with math but honestly it wasn't that difficult. I used the program ALEKS which i really recommend bc you can take your time or finish early if you get what you're learning. TAKE HIS CLASS

I felt like Prof. Heinze was always willing to take an extra min to help you understand anything you were struggling with. He watched the class progress carefully and lectured specifically on things larger percentages were struggling with, but he (and his TA) took the time to help people individually. I only wish he was teaching my next math class

I took the Summer Math99 which was only six weeks long. Prof Heinze was excellent. Very do-able class. Stay on top of your work and study. He goes over a lot in class, so if you need help pay attention. Would take him again.

I failed math 099 twice. After taking the course with Heinze I literally got a 3.9. He is very intellegent ans clear in his teaching. I would take ANY of his classes. Super great instructor. Olympic college needs more like him!

I just hoped that he would do other math too, not just the perquisites.

He is the best teacher I think I have ever had. I finished 90A and 90b in one quarter and he was helpful whenever I needed, I could easily get ahold of him by email. He let me switch class times half way through the quarter to Accommodate my work schedule. Space I needed to take a test so Id rather class time he let me come to his next class.

One of the best professors I've ever had. This guy takes the time to work with you so you understand what you are doing. He provides excellent feedback and is just a really nice and understanding guy. I'd recommend taking his classes if you struggle with math because he does such a great job.

Really great teacher! You can tell he cares about the students and wants to make math a more-or-less fun experience. I have never been good at math, but he is really good at thoroughly answering questions and his lectures are amazing. I finished the class with a 4.0.

We used ALEKS and we were able to go at our own pace. If you went the normal pace, though, he gave lectures and answered questions. He explained everything very well and I would take one of his classes again.

Prof Heinze is super cool respected. He explains every chapter very well. I would definitely recommend everyone who is having difficulties in math to take class with him.

Online via Aleks. Has a good teaching method and gives lots of chances to figure out the lecture. Prefer you to show up to class but communication is key, let him know you won't be there and why then it's all good.

I really liked how this professor taught! We used ALEKS, and he gives about 1-3 short lectures a day on where the majority of the class is lacking as per ALEKS stats. He explains math problems in an easy way for me to have complete understanding on how to solve it. Always very helpful if you need one-on-one help.

I took Heinze for both Math 90a and 90b he is an awesome professor who cares about his students succeeding. His lectures are really good too! he's easy to understand and gives you tips on ways to remember certain things on problems. I've never been good at math but taking his class 2x has helped a lot. He is very enthusiastic about math & always comes to class excited to teach. We used the Aleks program so its pretty much work at your own pace. If there was ever anything I had trouble with, he was able to explain it in a way that made it easier to understand.

Professor Jason is such an amazing math teacher! He cares so much about math as well as all his students. We use the online program Aleks, so it's super easy to work at your own pace. And he doesn't care if you work during his lectures or if you listen to music. He's so nice and amazing and really makes sure EVERYONE knows the material! LOVE HIM!!

Professor Henzie, was amazing! I enjoyed his course, he was easy to get along with, and his lectures are amazing. He really breaks things down so that you actually understand the material and your able to do the work going forward. Great Professor.

Great professor, I've taken his classes twice now. He lectures on the problems he sees the majority of the class is struggling with. He even gives a mini lecture right before a quiz on the problems that may be difficult. He's really easy going and positive

I took this class online over the summer. It was definitely a lot of information, but Heinze is lenient if you need extra time to turn something in. He is really clear when he explains things, you can tell he cares that his students understand the material. He makes himself available for one on one sessions, and he responds to emails quickly.

I've always had trouble with math, but doing 99 on ALEKS was a breeze with all of the resources he gave us.

Jason Heinze is an awesome professor. Always accessible and understanding. I struggled on a test and reached out asking if I could still achieve getting an A and he said it was possible and that he extended the access for me so I could retry. No required class meetings but you have to email him each week for participation points. Class is on Aleks.

The only math teacher that has ever made sense to me. I like his tutorials that he creates and is very responsive to student needs.

(in person) I've had ALOT of Math and professor Heinze is BY FAR the best. I spent my life believing math just wasn't for me. Having a good (thorough) instructor made me realize I was wrong. There is a good balance of lecture and homework. Do be prepared for homework. You will have a SOLID algebra foundation if you take his class. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love Jason. He is the best math prof I have ever had. He uses ALEKS for his Math99 course, which makes it super easy to get ahead in the class. If you finish the course ahead of time he can place you in a prep class for the next Math course you plan on taking. 100% recommend. Responds super fast to emails and is incredibly helpful.

I really loved taking from Jason Heinze. He was so willing to help, always responded, and was lenient. Truly a wonderful person and professor. The workload was fairly normal, with 4 tests in total. He also provides panopto recordings for each topic you work on in ALEKS. he wants to help you understand! 10/10 would recommend.

Highly recommend taking this class ! As long as you communicate well with Professor Jason he will try to accommodate your needs! Which is what I needed having to take care of my 8 month baby while taking this class.

Math is a saving grace? Prof Heinze is accessible even as an online class and is supportive and sympathetic to working students. Keep communication open and he is willing to work with you. Using ALEKS program mainly with minimal requirements for written work to satisfy course requirements. Could make you convert to a mathlete!

I have taken Jason Heinze math courses over the last few quarters that I had with olympic College. Absolutely amazing guys and grader with minimal math work needed. As long as you do ur homework and weekly participation by sending an email you will pass this course. will work through anything with you as well like extensions.

If you show up and give him your attention you will succeed! When I didn't understand things he took the time to reach out to me and make himself available! The work is reasonable and the exams are exactly what is in the homework! You will do well if you participate!

I have taken professor Jason Heinze a few times within Olympic college. He is very kind and caring and very respectful professor. I would absolutely take him again, All of the classes that i attended with him I have passed. Do the homework and you will pass, tests are only a few every few weeks. Will offer help and extensions as needed.

Heinze's example videos are so well put together and easy to understand, I really hope he makes them accessible on YouTube because not all teachers explain things as well.

Very personable, very understanding when I had to miss class for medical issues. Excellent at communicating, and as someone who is awful at math, he really took the time to explain and break down solving equations to where most could understand. Cracks jokes, very nice professor. I've taken him for three classes. Would absolutely take again!

He has many years of teaching and is very good at explaining things concisely. He always responded to emails quickly, willing to give on the spur zoom one on one's. He does not penalize for late work, but the volume of work is alot, so don't get too far behind.

If you thought you hated math, this guy will turn that feeling around, don't know a subject? he'll have you know so much your brain will explode. Worried about grades? He allows for test retakes anytime / reviewing of old material anytime. 10/10 would take his class again.

Professor Heinze was very kind, he would always give extra time on homework and quizzes if asked and is quick to respond to online questions. The only thing I did not like about him was the way he taught, some his lectures were easy, but sometimes they made very little sense and I often found myself having to learn it later in the tutor center.

He's really nice and always has a positive attitude, he makes really good lectures that help you understand what you're learning. If you're going into education for younger ages, math&131 is a really good choice. He's an awesome teacher !!

This professor is great! I was confused at the end of lectures, but there is only so much that a professor can do to help you understand material. He was accessible and responded to emails quick, and was so relaxed on homework. Only 2 projects, and a homework assignment at the end of each lecture. If you do homework right after class, it is easy.

Enjoyed the class, explained very well, highly suggest. He does not post anything on canvas so make sure you know the test dates and etc.

He really wants his students to succeed, he is willing to work with your schedule or special needs. He has the most patience for all of his students and always had an answer to our questions.

Professor Jason is a fantastic math teacher who makes the subject engaging. Utilize tools like Unstuck study alongside the textbook for great results. Attend class, do the work, and you'll excel.

Currently taking class with Mr. Heinze, and (unrealistically) wish he could teach all of the math courses at OC. I haven't taken math classes in over 7 years and already ahead of the work he is teaching. He's not just passionate about math, but teaching overall and has great patience with all levels of students. I cannot recommend him enough. TY!

Professor Heinze is an amazing teacher! He is a kind man that wants the best for his students. He is always willing to help with homework or just answer questions. Homework for stats is on wamap and very chill with lots of time to complete. Tests are pretty easy and follow lecture material. I highly recommend!

Highly recommend, gives clear and in-depth explanations to the "how and why" behind every math problem and will help you with anything, and is lenient in case something happens outside of class. He shows in his lectures and his one-on-one that he is there to help you succeed. I would take this class again for fun. Great professor.

The professor matters, their lectures and the way they explain things, MATTER. He has the best way of explaining things & making sure everyone else understands. He's very chill and takes his time to ensure we're all on the same page. His patience in explaining the same thing multiple times is top tier. Quick to respond. Actually makes learning fun.

All work is completed online. During class, you can do online work, listen to lecture; or you can do both! Jason is exceptionally nice! He's very understanding if you need extra help. The day of exams, he lets you study beforehand, then take the exam when you're ready. When you're finished, you can go home! Super chill guy; his class is an easy A!

Jason is the best professor I've ever had. He cares about his students and makes sure everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed. Before I started his classes, math was my least favorite subject and I knew almost nothing. Now, I maintain a 4.0 in all of my mathematics classes and I believe having him as a professor made all of the difference.

Heinze is the best math professor/teacher I have ever had in my life. He is unironically funny, so sweet, has never made me feel dumb for asking questions, and genuinely wants his students to succeed. He truly wants his students to succeed and is always willing to help. I really struggled on the final, and it significantly brought my grade down. Mr. Heinze allowed me to retake it twice, and when I still didn't pass, he gave me an alternative assignment so I could earn the points needed to pass. I've never been more grateful for a professor.
