One of my favorite teachers. Very funny, tells jokes and shows videos before he starts every lecture. Keeps you laughing all thru the class. His tests are killer but he grades on an awesome curve! I strongly recommend him!

I retook this class after failing it with Firestone and looking back, I'm glad I failed it the first time. I learned more in the first day with him teaching then I have ever learned in any science class in my whole life's education. He's awesome and makes sitting in class for three hours way worth it!!!!

Bro Hunt did a very good job of teaching me physiology. i learned alot in that class and love physiology. I'm in graduate school now and after taking his class it makes physiology seem managable and almost easy. His tests are challenging and fairly demanding but it was worth it. Don't miss out on his drawings or diff b/t girls & guys lecture.

Great Teacher, You really have to pay attention. He will get going in class and it is hard to keep up sometimes. Like a speeding bullet. Knows the material very well. He will give a lot of chances to raise your grade and help you get the highest grade.

He was a good teacher. His tests were extremely hard and tricky, but his curve made it so it was pretty hard to get lower than a c even if you didn't study. I did have to study a lot from the book because he was very entertaining and strayed from the topic a lot.

Foundations suck just to begin, it is a subjective class because your fellow students grade your work, the class is very interesting and i love going to class, there are 2 papers do at saturday night late but its not too bad, i did horrible at the beginning of the semester but i'm slowly getting better. i've had to work for my A- which is unusal

Foundations capstone is the WORST class I have ever taken, but bro Hunt made it one of the best experiences. The man does an amazing job of getting your thoughts out of you. I have taken Bio 264 and captsone from him. This man is the best teacher on campus hands down. He really cares about his students and reaches out to you, and in turn you feel bad for not doing your best effort- making for an easy A. In fact I have never been so challenged by a class here at BYU-I, than I was in his class. But, I have also never gotten so much out of a class before either. This class is AMAZING! Brother Hunt was one of the creators of the class. He does a great job of leading the class. It's mainly discussion based. He doesn't offer his opinion (which drives us crazy, but it's good that he doesn't). There is a few assignments. Nothing too hard. I learned a lot. (you need an i-clicker, that's it).

This guy is amazing, he knows very well how the human body works. You have to know how things work to do well on his tests, they are difficult, but you will learn more from him than most professors. I'd recommend his class if you want to learn.

I am horrible at science and have always struggled with it. If you are in that same boat, watch out. Exams are 90% percent of the grade and a majority of the exam has non of the above or all of the above which makes it a million time harder for students who already don't get it. Thought this would be easy and fun class but I will likely get an F.

I struggled in his BIO 264 class but since i sought him outside of classes he made me go to his office often and teach him what i learned. He cares about those care their education.

Amazing teacher! He has a 15 minutes 'inspirational talk' before class and I loved it! It was my first semester when I took Bio 264 and his words help me until now. He cares about you and attendance is not required. I stopped going to his classes because it was too far and I met with a tutor Alexis Savage instead and I got an A. I studied a lot.

This teacher, Day 1, changed the way I think. If you let him he will change the way you study, the way you think, and the way you look at school. It took almost all semester of doing it his way till i learned what it meant to be a dumb student but get good grades.

Do not be afraid to get a tutor or make a study group. With these tactics 461 is very doable, especially with Brother Shunt.

This class is way outside of my major, so super different from all of my other classes, but I have seriously loved it. The topic is interesting and Brother Hunt does a great job at presenting it. He issues challenges that are important to the content and to the student.

Brother Hunt is the best teacher I've ever had in college. He gives a spiritual thought before each class that is always moving and my favorite part of the whole lecture. He adds lots of humor into his teaching and tells stories to help relate what we are learning with our lives.

I've been at BYUI for 2.5 years and the Hunt dawg is by far my favorite professor. Above all else he cares about his students, others and learning. The course is hard. There is no busy work. Brother Hunt is the best instructor BYU-I has. He makes you want to know how the physiology works. If you keep up with the reading and his drawings and lectures you will enjoy the class even more. Tests are hard but with him as the teacher does not sound as terrifying. Also, he gives the best spiritual thoughts and shares wise words with us.

I'm only 4 weeks in and this class is probably my favorite class this semester. Not only is Brother Hunt an awesome teacher, but he is also a great life coach. Take this class from him if you want your mind blown. Not only does he teach you about the body, nutrition, etc. but also challenges your mind with moral dilemmas and teaches Gospel truths.

Brother Hunt is fantastic! This is a hard class but he knows his stuff & is super willing to help. He always has humor in his lectures, so the content isn't so dry. If you want to pass, do the readings BEFORE & after class, go to class, and go to the tutor OFTEN. Always retake the quizzes to 100% & ask questions! Talk with him during office hours.

One of the beat professors I have ever taken! It was a very tough class but I loved the material and studied hard and finished with an A. Most importantly, DO THE EXAM ESSAY QUESTIONS BEFORE EVERY EXAM!! It tells you exactly what you need to know! The better you can answer the questions, the more prepared you'll be for the exams.

He's good, but you really have to read. If you do not read the textbook, you will not pass with a high grade. Although the lectures are important, they are merely there to help students understand what is in the textbook or to ask questions. From what I experienced, tests are based off the book due to there being online classes and lecture classes.

this is probably my favorite professor that I have ever had. His lectures are very engaging and super interesting. I took no notes in his class, but still did super well on the tests, because he taught in a way that made me remember the information. He opens class with engaging thoughts and mind exercises, and I was excited for class every day.

He always starts class off with a thought that is more based on life than what the course focuses on to give us some guidance as well as get our gears turning. It is so clear that he cares about our success and well-being. He's also hilarious! I laugh all the time in his class. He also loves getting hard or slightly weird questions!

I loved Brother Hunt's class! He genuinely cared about each student and was very accesible outside of class. He always was able to tie the gospel into his lectures which was so cool. The class itself is really hard but he did a good job of making it easy to understand.

This is an exercise class, which I didn't know when I took it. But it is a great class, it isn't hard to pass if you do the work. The workouts are up to you, to help you get into shape. It is a great class for self-health and to build a routine.

Jason is a really great professor, his lectures are lively and entertaining. He really tries to get to know his students and I really appreciated that. His American Epidemic class is something I think all students should take.

I loved Brother Hunt's class. I learned so much without feeling like I was learning. There was very few assignments and he grades his exams on a curve which helps your grade a lot. His TA was also awesome in helping us prepare for exams.

Probably gives the best lectures of anyone in the biology department. He makes everything make sense. Go get to know him! Loves having students in his office going over stuff. Very willing to be a true mentor, not just a teacher. Take him for as many classes as you can!

Brother Hunt is incredible! He has a great story and if you take anything from him, I'm sure he'll share it with you. He expects you to do your best and will push you! He likes being in front of a crowd, is good at what he does and knows it; but I still enjoyed his lectures and he explains things concisely. Take from him! It will change your life!

Brother Hunt is awesome! He talks about A&P like he's telling you what he ate for breakfast. It is so clear and easy to understand. If you skip class, you might be able to get by just reading the book, but it's probably more work. He goes over the book material and points you in the right direction of what to focus on. He's a dork, too, it's great.

I've taken 3 classes from brother Hunt and if i could get my whole college education just from him, I would! he explains everything in a clear and understandable way, if you ask him to slow down during lectures he will gladly do so! Hunt and Shaw were awesome. You come to class and do quizzes all day which help you solidify the material if you prepare well. If you dont prepare well, you are not going to do well... Its definitely a 400 level bio class. Loved it!!

Amazing professor. The course is challenging, but its a junior/senior level class. Do not take this class if you want to just skate by. Theres a lot of material, but if you put the work in and get the help you need, you will do well in this class.

Professor Hunt is SO funny and a great teacher. I loved his class. He really knows his stuff. He wrote most of the tests and textbook. He knows exactly what to prepare you for. He provides a 25 extra credit opportunity that will save you. His curves on tests are the best I've seen as well. Lowkey want to be like him when I grow up lol. Hunt Dawg!!

Brother Hunt is by far the BEST professor I have ever taken a class from. He starts every class with a devotional/little thought that are really meaningful. He is HILLARIOUS and he really cares about each of his students and knows everyone by name. Attend the class and it will be an easy class. Pay attention and do the easy prep quizzes.

I seriously loved Brother Hunt! I had to take BIO 264 twice because I didn't do very good the first time. I honestly believe that the professor can make or break this class. He really knows what he's talking about, he just uses white boards to draw everything out, and his thoughts are always so good! I would highly recommend him to anyone

TAKE HIM!! He is SO funny (but if you get offended easily you won't appreciate his humor). Starts class off by giving you a life lesson/inspiration which helped a lot, and then for teaching he is clear and entertaining. This class has 6 exams total with info from a free online textbook that he helped write. Plus, this class is way interesting.

Can't express how great this class was. Shaw and Hunt changed the way I learn and set me up with a really great foundation of knowledge for my career. Didn't realize it at the time but these guys (esp. Hunt) are world class teachers.

I personally chose to slack off too much but his class is pretty easy if you show up and read the materials. I would totally take more classes from him if I could.

This class prepped me for the physiology course I took my first year of med school so well that there were nearly no new concepts introduced and I earned an A. The absolute best professor I ever had as a student. Take this class, you'll be glad you did, especially if you go on to dental/medical or another professional school that requires it.

Loved having him as a professor and learned so much about health and all the things taught in the course! BIO isn't my major, but I'd take him again for any class. He always cared that students understood the material and was just a joy to be around. Also, loved his humor and made each class very entertaining. Take him if you can!

He is arguably the most pro-student professor on campus. If you have a question about anything related to class or not he will do what he can to answer it. He genuinely wants you to succeed in or out of class. The only complaint I have is that everyone wants to meet with him so it can be hard to corner him.

Bro. Hunt gives incredible lectures and is extraordinarily intelligent. His material is easy to understand, and he provides plenty of opportunity to excel in his classes. That being said, he's definitely a good ole' boy. If you're not in the "in" crowd, be prepared to pretty much be ignored by him throughout the semester.

Hunt is awesome! He is very knowledgable of course material and gives understandable lectures. If you don't quite catch everything he explains (the class moves fast at times), he is easily accessible daily for any help needed. Class definitely requires effort to receive and A, but is possible if you utilize all resources available.

Brother Hunt is one of the best and most solid Bio professors you will get at BYUI. He is very knowledgeable and is serious but also very humorous. He is very easy to talk to, but also gives good criticism (when needed). He has a lot of inspiring personal experiences and teaches a lot of life lessons that will stick with me forever.

He wrote the textbook, he writes the exams, and he knows how to break it down for your understanding. His office is always open to talk about anything from academics to life. He loves teaching and he loves his students. He is very successful and intelligent, yet he chose to be a professor. A humble man with a lot of wisdom to share.

This professor is one of the best on campus. Bio 461 is one of the hardest classes on campus, and you will spend 30 hours a week studying, but you do learn a lot and get so much out of the class. It is amazing preparation for medical school. Super caring professor and makes class super enjoyable and fun. Attendance not mandatory but you need to go.

I would 100% take any class from him again! This is a tough class no matter who you take it from, but Bro Hunt made it really enjoyable. He knows what he is talking about and is very smart! Highly recommend!

Just finishing my first semester of medical school and this class prepared me nearly perfectly for medical school. I could skip my physiology lectures for the most part. Only thing I would change about the class is incorporating more exercise physiology into the curriculum. That is a big part of at least DO training.

I just finished BIO461 (Physiology), which is co-taught by Hunt and Shaw. Would highly recommend them. Hunt seemed a little intimidating at first, but he is actually super awesome and nice. His lectures were great. Just don't short yourself on quality studying and you'll do fine. He is a trustworthy person you can rely on and be open with.

This is a very hard class, but you can do it with Hunt. He doesn't use any notes, he just goes at the whiteboard, which I had to get used to. But he absolutely knows what he's doing, and after the first test I trusted him completely with what he taught. Do the extra credit, go to tutoring, do the reading, and review tests with him. Took his American Epidemic class and he changed my life. Great lectures and brings the spirit to his class. Lots of extra credit and even though the tests were hard for me I was able to get an A. I still use a lot of the things I learned from his class.

The best professor in the Bio department by far. Fantastic teacher and an even better human being. You can go to him with any question or problem and he is more than willing to listen. Class is tough but Hunt and Shaw make it interesting and worthwhile. Can I rate them as a 6/5?

Brother Hunt is the GREATEST PROFESSOR I have ever had! Even though lectures aren't mandatory, definitely make sure to go because he's so great at explaining things simply and he's very patient. He doesn't use any slides and draws everything on the board which is extremely helpful. He is extremely accessible outside of the classroom too!

Professor Hunt's BIO461 class is challenging but rewarding. His lectures are informative, and he's willing to help if you engage. Attendance is a must, and using Unstuck study alongside the textbook can be a game-changer for study prep. Overall, a great class if you're willing to put in the work.

Hunt was super fun but sometimes he spent so much time on spiritual thoughts that we didn't have a ton of lecture time. I also think that he didn't go as in depth to the material as I would have liked. Lots of tutoring available though.

The assignments were just a jumping off point for lectures. He got in depth into interesting topics pertaining to almost every aspect of the medical world. Hes a really nice guy, takes the time to learn each students name. Do your work and you will pass, that is a guarantee.

He was so excited about the material and he didn't have any hard deadlines for assignments while I took the course. BIO 264 is a hard, fast paced class, but he made it doable

Hunt is my favorite professor. He is a true friend and helps me out with many things besides BIO265. Out of class, he'll listen to anyone, if it's important and personal, he'll leave his office (often full of people) to talk to you privately. He draws on the whiteboards to teach, great spiritual thoughts, teaches simply and principle focused.

Usually I don't remember any of my professors names but I remembered this guy CLEARLY, I actually learned so much from this class that I am still able to apply in life as I'm preparing for PT school. He knows what he is talking about and very understanding and easy to work with. Couldn't recommend more.

Brother Hunt's teaching style took a little for me to get used to since its common for professors to teach from powerpoints. Brother Hunt draws everything out which actually helped me to understand the material way better. The material wasn't even the reason I mainly came to class each day, it was his inspirational messages/life stories he shares.

Brother Hunt is great! It's totally possible to get an A in this class. He genuinely cares about his students. His teaching style was an adjustment for me at first, as someone who likes structure and knowing what I will be learning that day, but the textbook made up for any missed information and made it possible to get a really good grade.

tbh I've only taken BIO199 from him so far, so I can't speak for the harder classes. HOWEVER, he's actually amazing. He taught us in a very engaging way, and taught us so many things that would benefit us outside of class and in life because he wanted us to be as prepared for the world as possible. he's also lowkey really funny and just so caring.
