One of my absolute favorite criminal justice teachers.

great teacher. loved the actual stories that could relate very well to the topic at hand. would have preferred a couple more exercises but i understand it would have been hard with such a large class and the topics we had.

hole class was great. good stories and problem solving WDFS.There was nothing to be changed.

I found my instructor very helpful and I would take another class with him again.

Even as I was registering for my next CJA course, as I scrolled down the choices, I looked for his name before I looked for any particular courses..and I found one that's he's instructing- Yay!

Great Professor, has a ton of knowledge on every class he teaches. He is very well spoken and is always open to helping you out. Can be difficult at times but that is a good thing and if you apply yourself you can learn a lot from this man.

Mr. Jones was not only very knowledgeable but he was was very enthusiastic about the information he was teaching. The course was interesting and easy to navigate. His lectures were very thorough and he was very articulate and well spoken. Very enjoyable course. I will take more of his classes hopefully face to face next time.

This was my first online course with Jason. It was a little tougher than the face-to-face. But that's okay, I learned a lot. Jason always makes his classes informative and exciting. Jason is an amazing teacher and knows in detail any class that he teaches. He has a lot of reading in all of his classes and a lot of quiz's, most classes do not have mid terms, but the finals are a lot of questions, so study extensively.

Has a lot of assignments but some are helpful. I like the group work that is done because it really helps me understand the material better rather than just reading a book. Good feedback and really helpful if needed. I like the stories he tells us.

My first CJA course since a very very long break from school. I couldn't have asked for a better instructor for my first class. Jason is very detailed in his instruction and invites students to participate. Definitely be prepared to read and watch for specific wording changes in quiz questions (he says no trick Q's). Thank you Jason, it was great

Great use of the Socratic method to teach a topic that is completely foreign to the average citizen. Fun, engaging and applicable to the real world.

Jason Jones is a really good teacher. I remember the first class I had with him I was freaked out because everyone said he was a HARD teacher. Not true he is really good at teaching, and help you if you need it if you ask. He is also very honest if you ask him questions he can answer.

Jason is a great guy and teacher. I have had him for three classes now and I am planning on taking another night class with him next term. No better teacher out there.

I appreciate how he teaches the course and the materials he uses, I think he provides different ways of learning which is helpful since not all students learn in the same ways.

My favorite instructor!

Just finished my second class with Jason and I can't say enough nice things about him. His passion for teaching about Criminal Justice is contagious and makes me want to learn more. He also has an amazing memory and ability to recall events accurately and clearly.

This has been my third consecutive term with Jason. Without a doubt he has been one of the best instructors I have ever had. I can tell that he has a passion to teach and to inspire others to pursue a career in criminal justice. above all, I appreciated that he holds you accountable to learn. He's not just there to speak and hand out easy grades.

After taking this course with Jason he is easily one of my favorite instructors I've had. He keeps class interesting and tells some interesting and sometimes funny stories since he himself is a police officer.

As a CJ student, this is the best teacher you will have. This guy is such an inspiration. 15 year veteran working with Portland PD, teaches at 3 schools, trains police internationally, and has a family. Dude works super hard! Despite his busy schedule he still maintains an amazing attitude toward his students. He want's you to succeed and it shows!

Jason is definitely one of my favorite instructors, I have only taken his classes the last 2 terms but i hope to be able to take more of his courses.

Jason could be used as a mentor because he cares about his job, students, and the future of policing. If you are interested in understanding the perspectives of policing, from an honest police officer, then Jason will guide you to further your knowledge of policing. He also keeps the class focused and paying attention through humor.

I strongly recommend him if you want to learn and become something. He's a very smart person with a lot of experience and connections. I'm glad I had him as teacher.

Jason give a great view of law enforcement from the inside. He is neither jaded nor is he a left wing Pollyanna. He provides a balanced view and is open to discussion on most subjects. Participation in class is a key to getting good information.

I've had classes with Jason my first term of college, and now my second to last term. He has a good way of incorporating videos and pop culture references to the material to help you learn. I also liked how he was repetitive in his teaching so that I actually retained the information. Watch out for deadlines, and show up to his class.

Jones is an amazing professor. He is very thorough and answers all questions he is asked. Very helpful in and out of class. When we didn't have class , he would attach the lecture with his voice explaining the lecture as if we were in class. Very helpful and would definitely have him as my professor.

There were multiple assignments that left me confused and when I reached out to other students for help, more often than not they as well didn't understand what was expected either. This teacher provided lots of information and the lectures were efficient, the only thing that I struggled with is understanding what was expected of the assignments.

He tells lots of interesting stories, and is very open to and cares about students. Also makes it pretty fair and easy to pass the class if you pay attention.

This is my first semester outside of the military. It was very easy to transition into class. Jason is my favorite teacher this semester and he provides a well organized easy to understand class. Genuinely a good guy and respected officer.

This professor had it from the beginning of the term, and wasn't super unorganized like other instructors/professors that I've had. Definitely a class that requires you to attend it in person, in order to receive both full points and to get a better understanding of the subject at hand. Very willing to work with students.

Weekly homework. Online quizzes are easy, but involve lots of reading. He tells you a trick to use to find key words though (ctrl F). Everything was online, in-class lectures were more there to get 4 credits and explain anything you might have struggled with when reading articles/taking quizzes. Attendance is graded so don't miss out on easy points

Most amazing lectures. I would take all of his classes if I could. He grades attendance so dont miss out on 5 points every time. Online forums are extremely interesting and relevant. There is no late passes for assignments, so please do everything on time. He is blunt about everything, and he clearly says there are no late passes. Very easy!

Lots of quizzes based on lectures and reading but very short and fairly easy even if you don't do the readings. Very knowledgeable and honest.

He grades attendance but it honestly wont matter because youll want to go to class. His material is blunt, easy to follow and super engaging. Very little homework, which benefits us and him. Quizzes are easy and made to pass if you did the required reading. There will be extra credit in the term but that doesnt mean you have an excuse to slack.

Jason Jones was very specific about his expectations for the class and for assignments. He also provides a lot of extra resources for us to get more information. My only complaint is that sometimes his forum questions felt a bit beyond my knowledge despite doing the homework and reading the materials.

Great class. The amount of reading was a little bit difficult to cope with, but overall the books were very informative and realistic, especially Just Mercy. I would have appreciate a little bit more feedback in the forums. I am not sure everybody got the point of how our justice system is impacted by many things, but in a big part by race.

I really enjoyed his teaching style and the class layout. He is very honest about his real life experiences and I was really able to grasp a lot of information. Overall i would take future course with Mr. Jones!

I enjoyed the class. I liked the structure of the class, he communicated every week with us, so we would know what work we would need to do and when it was due.

When it comes to deadlines, this professor is really good about giving updates to future assignments and making sure that I knew deadlines were coming up. He would give around 3 emails per week so that I knew my deadlines were the same and when they were. He gave assignment instructions that were straight forward, never vague. A 5-Star professor.

At first, I was intimidated by the number of weekly quizzes, but as the course carried on I realized they were actually simple. The lectures are really helpful when it comes to understanding the course material. Overall it was a great online course.

Jones' classes are not hard. Do the chapter readings, watch the lectures and quizzes are a breeze. You have a quiz after each chapter and lecture, then one forum. You are not buried in assignments and could do his class in one day if you wanted to. He gives extra credit, extends deadlines to Sundays without penalty, and shares current personal info

Jones was a great teacher. This class is not all to difficult and the professor makes the class easy and entertaining. As long as you read the chapters, watch the lectures, take the quizzes and do the forums you will get a great grade. The lectures are shorter and have videos for entertainment as well as learning. AMAZING PROFESSOR!

Awesome professor. Second class I've taken with this professor and his teaching methods allow for a great understanding of the material you are learning. He has lectures that are narrated, which, for me made the class so much easier because I have had teachers that post power points and you're left to figure out the material on your own.

Great class. Jason is a solid instructor and explains each assignment thoroughly. There is a decent amount of homework assigned but it's not an overwhelming amount. At the start of the term, we only had to respond to two people in the forum and then answer questions asked to us. Then out of the blue, we got docked points if someone didn't answer our question and then we had to submit another forum post to make up for it. A bit odd but I would still take this class again. He's a great instructor.

This class is very interesting and Mr. Jones gives you the opportunity to voice your opinion and also receive feedback from your peers. There is reading in this class, but as long as you read and keep up with the weekly lectures you will do great. Also, contributing to the weekly forums is a MUST!

This class was not that difficult, weekly assignments and a short test. Throughout the course i've learned a lot about patrol procedures and what it's like to be a police officer. I definitely recommend this class for those who are interested in becoming a police officer.

Considering the world we live in currently, Jason Jones does a great job of not only teaching about the profession hes in but is also careful not to press his opinion on his students. Community policing was a great course and the work is minimal. Jason does great at providing the information needed in his lectures for the quizzes. Article quizzes are more difficult as they require memory, not my strongest skill.

This is the second class I take with Jason Jones. His a very great teacher, he will check in with you if it seems like you need help. Im always excited when I get a class with him cause I know what is expected from and that Im actually going to learn from him.

I really enjoyed CJA-252 Restorative Justice taught by Prof. Jason Jones. The reading material was substantial and moving. The lectures were informative and relevant. The discussion forums were engaging and involved. I would definitely recommend this course and professor to other students interested in learning more about restorative justice.

This is like my fifth time taking one of Officer Jone's classes and it has always been great. Not only is he a respected Portland police officer but he is an amazing teacher who really cares about you succeeding. All of his classes have been an easy A and he teaches the material in a very easy-to-follow way. You won't regret taking his class!

Solid professor and all around great guy. Responds quickly to emails. Genuinely cares about what he is teaching and has great personal experience with the subject matter. I recommend taking his classes.

I enjoyed taking Juvenile Delinquency with Mr. Jones. It was asynchronous, so I did not get to know him at all. There was little connection between Mr. Jones and I. However, the content and class format were good, and I would recommend the class.

The lectures are easy to understand and follow, the quizzes are not timed except for the final.

Jason Jones made learning easy. I really liked the way the class was set up in the online format and our required assignments were very easy to understand and locate. The lectures were never too long and were fairly easy to understand, and the professor was always very quick to respond to any questions I had.

For this class you have to read and read and reread. I only picked this class because it was something I was interested in. I did enjoy this and would recommend it for anyone who wants to find out more about the system.

I took an online course with this professor, but something I enjoyed that he did was have a teacher presentation where as a student you chose a chapter we weren't reading for class and acted as the teacher and taught your fellow peers about what was in the chapter. It also wasn't very assignment heavy.

I appreciate how straight forward Prof. J is, all expectations are clear and always kind when I ask follow up questions. Discussion forums are very important, I missed two and did everything else with a good grade and still have a low C.I havent taken the final yet though. I would recommend taking classes by Jason, just make sure to not miss work!

He was hands down the best professor I have ever had. His lectures were not in the slightest bit boring, if anything out of all my weekly tasks I looked forward to Tuesday's lectures the most!

Professor Jones is one of the best professors I have ever had. He's so personable and he makes his lectures interesting. He has done some amazing work in the community. I have tons of respect for him and I highly suggest taking a class with him.

His job allows him to provide a real life perspective of the material in this course, which added a lot more information to what was already there. His teaching style is clear and concise, and his ability to convey the material clearly was great.

Mr. Jones lectures are very entertaining and helpful. He is very enthusiastic when he talks and it makes the class less boring. I also enjoyed hearing about his life experiences in the criminal justice field, if you have any questions regarding the field he will answer them honestly.

I absolutely loved taking CJA 110-01 with Professor Jones. He has very clear assignment guidelines, responds promptly to emails, and is a brilliant lecturer who takes the time to answer and address any and all questions from the class.

I am a first-year college student. I'm going to college for my bachelor's in criminal justice, Jason Jones has been my favorite teacher so far. I've signed up for a class from him every term. He also works for the Portland Police Department, I feel that made him more credible in my opinion. He also is very helpful and fast in anwsering emails.

has a requirement of words for discussion posts, typically 300 or more words are needed. A weekly discussion post has 3 parts and the first part is due on Thursdays @11:59pm. However, in Moodle it says its due Saturdays for the whole assignment, so be mindful of your days and remember that.

Took crisis intervention it was a very fun and informative class! There are weekly discussion posts. He did a great job acting out scenarios and getting everyone involved. Attendance was graded but overall I would 100% recommend taking crisis intervention with him.

Professor Jones is by far one of my favorite CJA professors at CCC. He is an excellent lecturer, sets clear assignment guidelines, and is always willing to help a student with any questions or concerns they may have. I absolutely recommend taking one of Professor Jones' courses!

Very stern about the syllabus but easy to work with and wants you to succeed.

I have really enjoyed the class. There was clear communication throughout. I had surgery before the final week of the term, and it was nice to not have the pressure of all the assignments and final at once, as I could work on them as I recovered. Which I am still doing.

Prof. Jones is truly an inspiring professional! He works currently in law enforcement and is very knowledgeable in Crisis Intervention. I would take another course taught by Prof. Jones! Don't be like me! Finish journals on time and do not use the "no penalty" turn it in on Sunday offer! So generous, but not good for busy lives or procrastination!

He always had very clear intrsuctions in moodle that outlines everything you needed to do in a timely manner. He also gave verbal instructions and had tons of visuals in his online lessons. Clearly spent plenty of time making sure the course was as easy to follow as possible in order for the student to learn.

I think he's a great guy really caring and was able to work around some problems I had with my assignments.

Jason Jones is very passionate about ethical policework. He is steadfast in his research & always advocates for raising standards. He genuinely cares about the wellbeing of everyone & is truly one of the good police officers; I'm thankful that he is teaching people that will be entering this field to ensure a better future.

Jason Jones shows true knowledge with the material he is teaching in class. He knows what he is talking about and is always prepared. Because of his police job he has a lot of first and experience that is very interesting to hear and learn from.

I have many things to say about him, but if anyone has the chance to have him then I would highly recommend taking his criminal justice and corrections classes to learn more about law enforcement in his view of things and how things happen. He uses many things from the book. However, many things are from his own knowledge and personal experience.

Jason was very clear with his assignments. The grading was very consistent, he was also very understanding. Assignments were due at the same time every week, nothing to catch us off guard.

Professor Jones PhD, is a phenomenal teacher who is very passionate about the courses he teaches and it shows. I have no idea how he has the time in a day to do what he does wearing many of hats but I look up to him and it is awesome seeing someone do what they love to do!

Make sure you read the material thoroughly in order to be successful for the weekly quizzes, I wasn't able to get very good scores until the last half of the course for quizzes because I didn't take reading the material seriously. Jason is a great teacher who really cares for his class and students. The one really big assignment you have is explained to you in week one and you have 6 weeks to get the first part done. The rest is smooth sailing and he is a fair grader. 10/10 would recommend!

This professor does a great job at explaining directions and what is expected to receive a good grade. There is a lot of work with the lectures. The lecture slides are crucial to read in order to complete the quizzes.

This professor is straight to the point and ready to help when needed. All of the class assignments were easy to follow with clear instructions. The only ‘difficult' portion of this course was the Teaching Assignment, but you are given plenty of time to prepare! As long as you stay on top of forums, you'll pass this class with no issues.

He is a nice and friendly guy. There is not a video example of what the teaching project should've looked like though. The instructions were a little broad. Other than that, he responds quickly to emails and tries to help solve any issues that arise.

Dr. Jason Jones has been one of the best professors I've had at CCC. I've had several courses with him both online and in person and both have been great experiences. I have developed admiration for his work. There is a lot of reading involved but it's material that is super interesting to learn and his lectures are great as well!

What you put into this course, is what you will get out of it. The lectures and videos are engaging, inspiring, and straightforward and easy to follow. Dr. Jason Jones is an excellent professor that does a great job using his real world experience to bring validity and value to his teachings. He knows the topic he is instructing in very well. The course is designed to make you challenge your traditional viewpoints and expand your knowledge, understanding and way of thinking.

Jones has been a great instructor. This is my second, going on third course with him and I have enjoyed each one so far. Every course, he provides so many resources and information that can clear any question you have.

Provides good material for each week. Forum questions relate well to the topic from that week. The weekly assignments stay mostly the same throughout the term, which, depending on your preference, can be good or bad. Jason Jones is a very understanding and caring instructor.

I've taken a few classes with Dr. Jones, and he's great. His classes are incredibly easy to navigate, and while there is a good amount of reading necessary, he is always there to help synthesize points with effective lectures. If you're reading this, thanks, Dr. Jones!
