Jason is great and makes class entertaining. However, he has a strong dislike towards republicans. He rambled on in class naming republican public figures and wished that they would be the next to fall from their public status. Theres no need to have that hatred in a class room. There was no relevance to what we were learning and who he mentioned.
RLLY heavy workload for a lower level elective. 3-4 readings w/quizzes + exam every week on old articles that are LONG, boring, & hard to understand. On top of that theres two 5-page papers that are due one week apart. dont recommend taking this course during the summer, not a tough grader but the amount of work you have to do each week is insane
Great lectures and engaging homework.
Quizzes and discussion posts were all participation points. Exams were straightforward. As long as you read the material and pay attention during lecture its an easy class.
Professor Keyser is very conscious of students workload, while still assigning beneficial readings and assignments. He maintains a centered and mostly unopinionated stance during his lectures and promotes independent thinking and analysis of philosophy topics. Jason is also an overall likeable guy and seems to be as good as professors get.
Scheduled routine weekly it was clear to see a plan. Great at responding in a timely manner to emails and actually answered questions. Overall good experience.
Great professor. He is really easy to work with and definitely understanding. As long as you keep up with your work and watch the lectures youll do well. Would definitely take his class again.
He's a very understanding professor. Easy to work ahead, not lots of work, but definitely very heavy on reading. The test are basically your grade, so do well on those and you Wille be good.
Professor Keyser made this class very easy and enjoyable, he gave us access to everything we needed to do well in this class and more. He is very lenient with everything and very understanding!!
I think he is a solid choice for a professor. He is there when you need him and he is pretty casual and helpful. His lectures are also very good.
This class was overall pretty easy. all assignments are participation besides the exams. but if you do the reading you will do just fine. overall great class and professor
The assignments are not too bad since he uploads powerpoints that are really helpful. However, he is a pretty tuff grader on the tests and your answers have to be very specific. The one thing I really dislike about the class is that all the homeworks, quizzes, and tests are written.
I would say the class is pretty easy overall considering the fact that he makes powerpoints n uploads them onto Canvas. Assignments and quizzes are pretty easy too and theres only one of each every week or two. You have to have extremely detailed on the tests tho or else you'll get points off. The tests have a HUGE impact on your grade so lol :,)
Class is quite interesting, lots of cool concepts and ideas are taught.
Professor Keyser is very passionate and energetic with his lectures. I like this course, however, a majority of your grade is determined by the written exams.
Keyser is a cool guy, I really like his lectures and the conversational tone they have. Quizzes and discussion are no prob at all. The tests are long answer style and they are not very easy, but pay attention and read you should be fine. A bit hard to guess how you will do but he's reasonable, if you give a good answer, you'll get a good grade.
Prof. Keyser is very kind, understanding, and wildly enthusiastic. I recommend taking him if you get the chance. If you ever have ANY issues(even off-hours), whether content or feedback, he is always willing to make time for you. He is a 7/10 for tough grading but if you put in a decent amnt of effort you will get a good grade.
Professor Keyser is a great professor and is helpful when you are in need. There is a lot of reading in this class of sometimes difficult to understand material, but the lectures are in depth and he makes the readings easier to understand. If you pay attention and do all your assignments and put the effort in there is no reason you wont get an A.
Professor Keyser's class is mostly lectures, no group work or projects. I really enjoyed his lectures, he explains interesting and complex concepts in a very comprehensive way. Reading heavy but his lectures are so thorough which really helps the reading go by quickly. Put the effort in, understand the material and an A is easy.
His class is challenging to me. This could be because I couldn't care less about philosophy. He does teach the material well, however I find it boring. He is a harsh grader and won't settle for anything less than an extravagant elaboration. He is very understanding and available during office hours if you need assistance.
Class isnt difficult you just have to look over power points he goes over.
keyser is a great professor, super down to Earth guy who enjoys what he does and is well versed in the topics discussed. His lectures are detailed and he takes his time with explaining everything you need to know for his tests. His tests are not hard but do test what he covers in his lectures. He will prepare you though and makes the class more fun
When I first took his class, I thought it was going to be boring, since I didn't have much interest in philosophy. But, after going through his lectures, he made learning philosophy interesting. He has a whole lot of passion for philosophy, and there isn't a dull moment throughout his lectures. Overall, a very fun teacher. I would recommend him.
He is good but just make sure you pay attention in the lectures.
He's a cool teacher, pretty entertaining so it isn't hard to follow in lectures. He grades pretty hard and there is A LOT of reading, which isn't bad but it is normally old English.
Professor Keyser explained the materials very well and kept the class engaging while reviewing subjects.
Easy A: he makes it so easy to understand philosophy and he has great powerpoints that are accessible outside lecture in case you miss it, great professor overall and very funny as well.
I have taken 2 of professor Keysers courses now (bioethics and intro to philosophy) and they were both very interesting. Professor Keyser is flexible with attendance and posts his powerpoints and the lecture recordings online. He makes the course content interesting and asks stimulating discussion questions.
Though the material is tedious Professor Keyser does a great job at explaining the material. If you go to class you should pass the class no problem.
Prof Keyser was very helpful with this course. He was pretty easy going overall. Obviously in philosophy you really have to think deeply about what is being conveyed in the passages. Prof Keyser ensured to simplify things to the best of his ability so that we would understand the material. I would recommend this prof for this class.
You can tell Professor Keyser cares what he's teaching about. Explains all topics in great detail and ensures everyone understands. Answers all questions in a timely manner and gives great feedback.
Every week you have a reading module followed by a quiz but they are not incredibly difficult.
Although the class is online, It's very important to attend the lectures to help prepare you for the exams. Professor Keyser is a very understanding teacher who gives very helpful feedback and offers extra credit. Make sure to keep up with your work and do the reading to ensure your best comprehension of a topic and a good grade.
Great professor, does not assign a lot of work other than pretty much weekly small quizzes/discussions. Tests are relatively short and very easy if you attended the lectures/read through the powerpoints, etc.
enjoys teaching philosophy so you can tell he not only loves what he is doing but also has a great grasp of philosophy. There is reading every week but if you dont do the reading you can still get an A because of his lectures. Attendance is required but if you cannot make it just message him and he will not mark you. Highly recommend
Great professor! Class won't be too difficult if you pay attention to the lectures.
He was an amazing professor, he always likes to bring a little humor to the lectures which is really nice considering I took it online. He knows how to teach and is always there to help you if needed. While his class is a lot of reading the class is pretty easy and really enjoyable!
If you have trouble understanding a lecture, Professor Keyser has no problem going over it again. Even though the lessons are very detailed, he makes them enjoyable.
Professor Keyser gives very detailed lectures but makes them enjoyable.
Even tough I did not do my on time due to a family emergency, professor Keyser, was kind and caring enough to open them up for me, so I can work on them once again. He is very caring, and the last thing he wants is for a student to fail. He also such a big inspiration, his lectures/assignments always made me think out of the box.
Professor Keyser tells you exactly what he expects from you and prepares you perfectly for the assignments given, which include 2 weekly discussions and a quiz, with 4 exams in total. He's a very fair grader and makes his lectures enjoyable.
Since philosophy isn't an easy subject he grades mostly on effort and if you have a general understanding of the topic. Very understanding and organized. Entertaining lectures!
Since philosophy isn't an easy subject he grades on effort and if you have a general understanding of the topic. Entertaining lectures and cares about his students well-being.
Professor Keyser was a good professor and it is very clear that he is passionate about what he teaches. I found this course quite difficult because I don't have much interest in this subject and he expects very specific answers for the exams. He is funny and really helps you enjoy and understand the lectures.
I took this class to fulfill my humanities requirement. Most topics were very interesting and overall it is an easy class as long as you read and understand the material. He is very passionate and if you really like philosophy, you can gain a lot from it if you are willing to participate. Highly recommend his class!
Professor Keyser is a good professor who cares about the concepts and understands the topics well. He has good lectures but they need to be listened to in order to do well in the class.
Professor Keyser is an incredible professor that enhanced my love for philosophy. He is very funny and is always energetic which keeps you in tune with the lectures that do go quite in-depth at times. As long as you attend lectures and do the readings when necessary the class will be a breeze as he can make Philosophy fun even for haters.
Professor Keyser very clearly loves philosophy, and it really shows in his lectures! He takes his time going through his powerpoints and is very clear with what he's expecting from students on his exams, which is a breath of fresh air. If you attend the lectures and do the readings, you'll do well.
Great class and great professor! Course contents were easy but not toooo easy if you catch my drift. Attendance policy is slightly bothersome, but I get it considering it was an entirely online course. I enjoyed the class and it's clear that the prof is passionate about what he teaches. Would take a class from him again.
Prof Keyser is hilarious and always willing to help. He always prepares/reviews carefully for students before we take quizzes/exams. He made everything short, concise, and easy to understand. His PowerPoint is super helpful and includes all the information you need to know. If you want both knowledge and good grades, take him.
Great professor overall. Cant say anything bad about the guy he did a great job of handling this online class!
Professor Keyser is a good, passionate professor. He was funny and kind, making the course flexible for students. Attendance was required, but if you couldn't make it, you could ask for a link to the lecture and he would count that for attendance. His lectures were informative and tests were not too long, just 3-4 written questions.
The class was mostly easy, I was just lazy and chose to do little work which is why my grade was low. Don't be lazy kids. Jason himself is super cool and super nice. Be open and honest with him and he will help you out.
Professor Keyser is a really good presenter, and he made this course very enjoyable. The course load is definitely manageable and the grading is really fair. I would highly recommend taking him for this course.
Amazing professor! He is super nice and funny and doesn't care all that much about attendance. You can tell he actually likes what he's teaching and he tries to get you interested in it as well. He also is not a tough grader and his exams are easy.
I really enjoyed his class, he has insightful lectures but all the assignments are based on the readings he assigns for the week. Assignments and exams are very easy if you do the readings. He also accepts late assignments as long as it is submitted prior to the upcoming test.
Professor Keyser is an amazing professor. His class is lecture heavy with lots of information. Exams are pretty easy as long as you know the information by going over the PowerPoint slides that are provided by him. He does give discussion questions and quizzes for each chapter but are very simple if you know the information.
If you pay attention in class then it is really easy to do well in quizzes and on exams. Attention during attendance is basically enough to pass the class. The reading does help for exam time though.
Professor Keyser was one of my best professors yet. Cool dude and he made class interesting.
Professor Keyser is an amazing teacher! He is very lenient when it comes to being unable to join the class and doesn't overwhelm you with work. When it comes to teaching, he sticks with staying on time and shows that he enjoys the topics that are being discussed. Join the class if you want an easy A and a fun time :).
Professor Keysers Phi2010 class is an excellent introduction to philosophy and he makes even the boring things interesting, I strongly recommend taking his class. Be ready to read a lot otherwise you will struggle on exams and discussions really help.
I took this class fully online over the summer and it was very easy to pass. Your grade is made up of discussion posts, reading quizzes, and exams. As long as you put effort into your answer, you'll get full credit even if the answer is wrong. The exams are open responses and he explains how to answer them correctly. Use the notes and you'll pass.
Professor Keyser was very professional and caring towards his students. Philosophy is a pretty difficult concept to understand, but Professor Keyser's class meetings helped greatly. The class meetings alone were enough to make a it by on class exams.
Great class! Very interesting. Professor Keyser is one of those teachers that actually cares and enjoys his job. As long as you pay attention to the lectures and readings that he provides, the class is manageable.
He was fine with students not showing up for class and gave recordings of the lectures. The smaller assignments were graded for completion & effort not accuracy. The tests were short essays, but weren't difficult. No final, just tests (summer course) . He struggled with Microsoft teams, frustrating. Still an interesting course but not too vigorous.
Professor Jason Keyser was a real one. His lectures and powerpoints were very informative and I learned a lot in his classes
Professor Keyser did a great job making some deep philosophical concepts very easy to understand. He's clearly passionate about what he's teaching and he makes every lesson enjoyable to learn. The online lectures were great despite some technical difficulties, he posts every powerpoint on canvas, and he's very flexible with attendance.
Really easy online course, also really understanding with outside circumstances which is great for summer courses. The only thing I would change is the length of the lectures, they were extremely long and it was difficult to pay attention for such long periods of time.
Took the summer online course of phi 2010, it's a lot of content and a lot of reading, but the course is interesting in general and the homework and tests are philosophical topic essays.
11/10, amazing course structure and grading policy. Really focused on students learning and understanding more than finding exact answers and hard grading. Very laid back and respectful, extremely knowledgeable of material in a fun way. Probably the best professor I have had at USF over the past 2 years here
Overall the class was pretty nice and I honestly enjoyed the material that Professor Keyser presented! It's relatively easy to get and maintain a decent grade as long as you attend the lectures as the review is very thorough (not to a mind numbing point though), also gave thorough feedback if he were to take a few points off in an exam/test!
Great Professor, super understanding, everything is straightforward. Would definitely take a class with him again.
He's a great professor. You can tell he knows what he's talking about and most importantly he enjoys what he talks about. Super understanding and hilarious. It's not hard to pass the class at all, just listen during lecture and take the time to think past just the surface level. Would 100% take him again and recommend him as well. One of the best!!
He does an excellent job of presenting and explaining course material. He also understands the pressure and time constraints of summer courses and tries not to make the course overbearing, which I really appreciate.
love this guy very kind.
Professor Keyser gave a very manageable workload over 6 weeks and spaced out due dates very well for minimal stress. His lectures and powerpoints are very useful. Would definitely take his class again.
Keyser makes this subject a breeze, as long as you watch the lectures (recorded btw) and skim the PowerPoints, you'll do great.
He surprisingly made teaching a little fun, very clear rubric, fast grader, pretty funny, and gives extra credit option.
Professor Keyser is a very easy-going teacher who doesn't over-pile work. Although his lectures are long, he makes them enjoyable and very easy to understand. Overall a great professor who's class I would definitely recommend taking.
Professor Keyser was probably the greatest teacher I've had. As a new student just starting college he made all the lectures fun and enjoyable. If you're just starting college as a freshmen I would recommend taking any of his classes.
The first time I took this class I failed because my teacher did not help at all. Jason Keyser is by far one of the best teachers I know. He made this class a lot more understandable and even kind of fun. He made connections with events and people we might know in relation to past philosophers and events. Would 100% recommend to anyone.
His lectures are very helpful for the assignments in the class.
I took him during summer B thinking this course would be extremely hard, his engaging lectures and interesting material made it way easier than I thought it would be. Overall a great professor who really cares about his students.
Amazing teacher one of my favorites.
This summer I took his 2 and a half hour class online. Usually, (knowing how I am) I get bored easily. With Prof. Keyser's lectures, I have such a great time and I feel like I learn a lot. His two hour lectures go by pretty quickly. He grades fairly and answers emails.
Tons of work to do during the summer since the time is shorter but all of it is extremely do-able. Exams are very fair and the professor is awesome!
Took Professor Keyser's class for Summer B. He was an amazing teacher who gave great lectures with all the information you need for the tests in them.
Great professor, really helps to break down information that students may not understand. You can request time if you're really struggling and he will help you out.
I took this course during summer b so it was fast-paced regardless. However, Professor Keyser made everything clear and provided detailed descriptions for everything. The PowerPoints are loaded with information and are essentially everything you need to get by in the class. Attendance is mandatory, but he's lenient if you explain yourself.
Extremely informative and I gained a greater knowledge base in this area. I also expanded my critical thinking through the use of the modules.
The class has a LOT of reading, but the lectures go over the main points of every reading super well. I would take it again as I had a great time as it is a very laid-back class when it comes to the overall workload and the very flexible gradings. Would definitely take more classes with him if my major permitted.
Professor Keyser was super fun and his class was enjoyable to be in. Even though this was online, he was funny and did all he could to keep the class engaged. I think he did a great job keeping everyone up to date on assignments, and was very lenient if you happen to be late on something (within reason). I would definitely take Keyser again!
Really good professor, he labels the online lectures as mandatory, but if you don't want to attend you can just watch his powerpoint and they are clear and concise and help you understand everything.
Honestly one of the best professors I've had during my entire time at college. Readings were simple and straightforward and we never had to rely on a textbook. All the materials were provided and as long as we showed a certain amount of effort, we received credit for our work.
Great dude. Good lectures. Engaging teacher.
He was really nice and you can tell very passionate about what he is teaching.I was never a fan of philosophy and ethics up until this but after this class I find it much more interesting. There are free points for discussions and quizzes every couple weeks. Then the test are open answer but he gives you a lot of time to complete them
Amazing teacher to have for Introduction to Ethics he makes it very clear what needs to be done in order to be successful in the class. In addition to that he genuinely enjoys teaching students and is excited to share his knowledge. The material can be boring sometimes however the professor tries his best to make things interesting for his students
Professor Keyser is an excellent instructor and I would recommend other students to take him. This course was discussion based and the readings were interesting. some were hard to read but his lectures helped if you were lost on the readings.
He was a great professor, the course was super interesting, and he is super understanding and is willing to work with you and be flexible. Definitely recommend!
Jason Keyser is a fun professor and the way he teaches makes me feel like he really cares about the subject and the success of his students. I would definitely recommend taking his class if he teaches PHI 1600 again. It was easy, interesting, and he is not out to get you or make you miserable with his courseload.
Professor Keyser is one of the best professors I have had during my four years at USF. He pays attention to detail and he is always willing to help you in anyway he can. He does give out weekly assignments so its important to stay on top of your stuff but he is a really good and easy grader. I 100% recommend.
Professor Keyser is very effective at teaching! His lectures are easy to follow and are engaging. There is a lot of reading and writing involved in this course though. The lectures were online but Keyser made it easier to navigate through his course as he dedicated the first week to students as an opportunity to familiarize themselves with canvas.
He was very clear about what he wanted from us and what we were learning. Grades were easily obtainable as it was clear what we needed to answer and write to obtain the points. Everything on the exams is exactly what we learn. Attendance is mandatory but the class is entirely online so its accessible and very fun.
As long as you attend class and review the PowerPoints before exams. The course is very easy
Great professor, he's super caring and funny. You have to make sure to attend to the online lectures and look over the powerpoints before taking the exam and you'll be fine.
Funny guy. Makes learning the content interesting, and the questions asked on assignments are thought provoking and engaging.
Super understanding and chill teacher who still knows how to actually teach his course.
Easy class with weekly discussion posts and quizzes based on readings. The reading material is provided so no need to buy a book. Professor is nice and explains the reading material well during lectures.
Great professor! Lectures every monday and wednesday, they didn't last too long and he made great use of the time, explained everything thoroughly. The main assignments were small quizzes and discussions, relatively easy ones but you have to do the readings and lectures to answer most. Would gladly take another class with this professor!
I think that the way this professor taught was very interesting and respected because of his passion for the overall course, the lectures, and the care with which he illustrates the teachings. Professor Keyser teaches in a way that's very inviting because it's not as if he is lecturing but feels as if he is having a regular conversation.
His lectures were amazing and you can tell he knew this information like the back of his hand. He is very passionate about the topics he talks about and does a wonderful job teaching it.
Definitely take his classes! Super funny, nice professor. Grades are easy and he makes class fun. Also, responds very fast.
This was honestly a great professor and very understanding of personal events, which made me enjoy being in the class and he had great lectures, great delivery, very intriguing.
He enjoyed lecturing and did so very well. Class was very managable. Discussion posts and quizzes mainly.
Assignments are easy. Exams are harder but not too hard. He is very knowledgeable and passionate. Online class with attendance grade 2 hour lectures 3 times a week watch live or when you can.
Great professor, tries to make class interesting and is informative in the lecutures.
Lots of reading, but if you pay attention to the lectures you will be fine in the class. Although the material may be boring at times, he finds ways to engage the class.
Taking him for summer class. I have never given a rating on here but felt like I needed to. He is so passionate and hilarious, and gives great feedback and you can tell he loves what he does. Makes me really excited for class. He's awesome I highly recommend.
The workload includes about two quizzes and discussions per week. There are four exams but they are all open note. There are online lectures that last about two hours every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It is a very manageable class.
Keyser's intro to philosophy class was great! Lectures were long but he records them so you can refresh on the info. He's very clear about what stuff you need to know for each topic and tests were open notes anyways. Besides tests, grade depends on a short quiz and discussion post per module which dont have to be "correct" so mostly participation.
Easiest class! You have to take it)
Great professor! If you study, you will be able to get good grades.
Great teacher, attendance is required for 3 days a week but he provides the powerpoint and records the lectures and posts them pretty quickly. Tests do make up a good chunk of your grade but allows open notes on the exams and does tell you what might be on the test beforehand. Overall a pretty easy class for the summer and not much assignments.
I would retake this teacher without hesitation. His ability to explain complex concepts clearly and engagingly made every class session enjoyable and enlightening. As long as you pay attention in class you'll be fine.
Professor Keyser did an amazing job teaching a difficult and fast-paced course. The concepts may be hard to understand, but Keyser's lectures always made them more clear. As long as you pay attention in the lectures, you will do good.
Interesting lectures. You can tell he is passionate! No textbook, he provides all readings. Not lots of assignments and the assignments are pretty easy to do. If you need an online course, I recommend him! Very easy going.
While lectures for the summer online course are very long, the professor does a great job at keeping up with the content and making the criteria for the exams very clear. Exams are 80% of the total grade but if you read and come prepared it is actually a plus. All work is done on canvas homework and quizzes amount for the rest of the grade.
I LOVE THIS GUY. I always look forward to logging in for his lectures because he's not just entertaining but downright hilarious! He's the only professor who makes me excited about attending classes. His course material is a breeze to understand, and he's so approachable and friendly. You should definitely consider taking his Philosophy class!
Professor Keyser did an amazing job with the course organization. His assignments were always easy and straightforward, and they had many engaging points. The lectures were pretty long but helpful when revisiting them, and his explanations were thorough and all-encompassing. I would definitely recommend it as a summer course.
I took the class in a six week condensed summer window, so it seemed lectures were long and that there was lots of reading, but the assignments and tests are pretty easy. The readings can be long, but they are explained in great detail and in an entertaining fashion thanks to Keyser's style, who keeps it interesting and fun. Recommend.
I took Keyser for a Philosophy summer course completely online. His lectures are long but he is very knowledgable on the topics he teaches and is great at keeping you engaged while learning. Course wasn't hard if you put the work in to watch his lectures and review power points. Discussions and quizzes due weekly and four exams in course.
Great professor, he made classes worthwhile even though they were online and sometimes long. He is very passionate about the subject which makes the class more enjoyable definitely would take him again and recommend him to anyone who is looking for a philosophy class or online class.
Course is based around the students understanding of the subjects.
Understanding professor who understood and taught the material well. Made the course easy and accessible as well.
He is able to explain difficult and abstract concepts easily. The main work of the course is not difficult and not graded for accuracy. The exams are straightforward and simply ask you to prove that you payed attention to the lectures. He does assign a lot of reading to do, but he does not check that you have actually read it.
Honestly, a really chill professor, who definitely knows how to convey material well, not confusing or boring by any means, the course is a lot of reading but he does a good job breaking down concepts in the power points.
I loved professor Keyser!! He is such an amazing lecturer, and you can tell he genuinely enjoys what he teaches. I was not very interested in philosophy before this course and now I find it very intriguing and appealing. I learned a lot through the lectures and his homework, quizzes and exams do not feel like busy work, but are very interesting.
Overall he was a very laid back character! very personable and easy to chat with, he was also understanding about student commitments!
He is a very heads up professor, has a sense of humor and responds quickly and personally to emails.
Attending lectures is very important for this class because that is what the exams are based on (which are weighed very heavily). Other than that Professor Keyser is very understanding when you reach out to him for any issues.
Professor Keyser has been a great instructor to learn from. Although the curriculum can sometimes be not so interesting, he keeps lectures pretty engaging. Lectures are fairly brief and you will be provided many opportunities to succeed in this course. Keyser is always easy to reach and very understanding when it comes to deadlines.
Professor Keyser has been a great instructor to learn from. Although the curriculum can be not so interesting at times, he does his best to keep lectures engaging. Meetings are fairly brief and you will be provided many tools to succeed in this course. Keyser is very easy to reach and understanding of deadlines. I highly recommend taking his class.
He was very fair and was very timely in grading assignments and providing feedback. He was also very easy to reach out to in case of any questions. Overall, the course was very easy as long as you attend lecture which was only 2 times a week for about 30 minutes.
Keyser was an amazing lecturer, he included memorable examples and was clear that everyones opinions were respected even if they did not align with his. Be aware that there are several peer review assignments which can get annoying if the peer doesn't send you their material but he is very willing to work with you if you explain this!
Super chill and funny guy. He is very understanding and will extend deadlines. Also practically give you the answers for midterms and finals.
Keyser is an amazing professor who truly cares about his students. He is a very chill guy who lectures for about 30 minutes twice a week and will oftentimes extend deadlines or reopen assignments if students forget to turn them in. He is also easy to reach out to with any questions. I highly recommend his class.
Professor Keyser truly makes an effort to make his class low stress, while still facilitating learning. Their dedication to guiding and supporting students online makes every class feel like a relaxed yet enlightening. He is very clear on all his criteria for assignments and is easy to contact outside of class.
I loved this professor! He was always open and honest about what he expected from us. The weekly assignment only took me around 30 min to complete every week, and he is very kind. Although none of us had our cameras on, I was always interested in his lectures and the funny videos he showed us.
Professor Keyser is a great teacher to take if you're unsure about how difficult a philosophy class is, his lectures were easy to follow and his grading was fair with a lot of his assignments having a "due date" but realistically he takes late work just as long as he hasn't graded the rest of the classes work for the same assignment. I'd recommend!
This class was very easy going and seemed very overwhelming at first. Now looking back at this class, I am realizing I was stressed for no reason. I really like Professor Keyser, as he is very understanding in his lectures and due dates. I am very happy I took this class with him, and recommend it to others!
The class was not difficult and he was always very clear with instructions and open to reopen and extend assignment due dates. I would definitely take him again.
He's a funny professor and gives clear instruction for assignments. Also prepares you well for midterms and exams.
Jason Keyser is a great professor. All of the assignments are very straight forward. There is usually a quiz and a discussion post due every week. I recommend taking this class.
Great and funny professor! He gives clear instructions for assignments and was always available if you had any questions. Overall, I'd recommend!
Professor Keyser is a good professor and very passionate about what he is teaching. The main thing is to join the lectures and read the given material and you can pass the class easily. He gives you enough time to complete assignments so just stay on top of it and it would be easy to pass.
I was nervous to take bioethics because of questionable reviews of professors, but Keyser facilitated this class well. Workload was doable throughout the semester and the lectures were easy listen even though they're online. He is super understandable of when things go wrong both individually and as a class, and asks for feedback often. Easy A.
The work is straightforward, with a quiz and discussion post each week, which are simple. He wants you to listen to his lectures, but he usually talks less than the time he had allotted for the class. He is a good professor, and I would recommend taking his class.
Professor Keyser is a great professor! He was very caring and funny, making him easy to get along with. Discussion post and quiz weekly, but not difficult. He is deeply passionate about biomedical ethics and cares about his students. I highly recommend him.
Professor Keyser's course was very smooth sailing. The course is basically just online lectures, weekly homework quizzes, weekly discussion posts, a midterm, a final, and a big final paper. However, the final paper was not super stressful because he breaks it up into multiple parts. I highly recommend taking him!
Prof Keyser was so understanding of extraneous circumstances. He makes his quizzes easy and stress free. Very clear on what he expects from an assignment and what will be on the exams. I loved signing into his lectures, even though they were not mandatory. Would 100% recommend!
Amazing professor! This course was very interesting and he made sure you will pass this course. The material is very simple not too difficult. He has an amazing sense of humor, he is very understanding, and very concerned and caring. I would recommend him and this course taught by him to anyone.
Keyser was an awesome professor, highly recommend taking his class! Very easy to communicate with, makes lectures interesting, clear instructions and grading criteria, the list goes on. Makes class fun and interactive, attend class and pay attention adn you will do great.
Besides weekly discussion posts and short quizzes, there was not a lot of work and was fairly easy.
Professor Keyser is an easy-going professor who is helpful when it comes to major assignments like the final paper or exams. He gives clear instructions and makes this course a whole lot easier. Definitely recommend taking him!
Professor Keyser was good, overall he is pretty simple and straight to the point. His exams are difficult but if you pay attention in class and review the study guide you should be fine.
Honestly was engaging and good with students. Whenever you email him he actually answers which is great. Obviously not a super easy class as these topics can be complex but he wants his students to learn and do well. Overall would take another class from him.
Prof Keyser was such an understandable and cool professor. He gives you clear instructions and plenty of time to finish assignments. He's also easy to reach and responds quick. Would definitely recommend him!!
Very funny and passionate about what he teaches. He made a class with lots of new information easy to learn. This class has difficult material, but he didn't make it difficult. Only downside to this class is tons of reading, but the comes with the price of having a great professor.
2 exams final and midterm. With a final thesis paper 5-10 pages long, but do not let that scare you. He breaks the paper up into multiple assignments throughout the semester so by the due date it is 97% completed. Overall funny and will listen to his students. Very cool dude, and will never bring you down.
Makes you think about the course material
Engaging professor. Assignments are pretty straightforward as long as you do the readings. Sometimes you might not even need to do too much reading honestly. Expectations for papers and assignments are clearly outlined. Fairly easy class
He was a really great professor! Very easy going, knowledgeable about the course content, and was understanding of any personal situations. He also responded quickly to emails.
Professor Keyser is very fair and will help you when you reach out. He does require you to do online group assignments, he will submit a link for class participation, and he is as real of a person as you can get. I really liked that about him. The work is not hard, but if you expect to get an A because you are lazy then prepare to get a low grade
Professor Keyser is a real, engaging instructor who makes the difficult content manageable. The work is fair, and unstuck study helped with study prep.
he is a great professor just gets off topic alot and is kind unorganized. grading is not very clear on essay exams but does fair grading when it comes to asking questions about why you got the grade you did and he is very good about explaining things and giving more feedback on exams and the readings
kind of all over the place but not in a bad way (unless you're a slow typer). not an extremely difficult class, but don't just blow it off or the work will catch up with you come exam time. not quite sure what the final is going to be though.
