Quizzes almost every week. A good portion of your grade is based on writing essays and analyzing. Total 7 essays, ranging from 3 to 7 pages. If you try, it's not so bad. But certainly not an easy A. No extra credit.

Realy intresting, fun, class. Verry helpfull, cheerfull,and intresting instructor. Will take again if possible.

awesome teacher! i took him for english 1A,then again for 1C..i wish i can take him for 1b, if you do your work and show that you want to learn, he will work with you.. if not, then don't take him.. he is very nice and kind.. even though he has his rules set for some papers, sometimes he would feel merciful and let it pass.. but don't be too sure..

Had him for Eng1A and wished I had taken him for 1C. He tries really hard to help students and to keep them interested .. interesting writing topics and videos :) Uses class time to work with students individually on writing assignments. Highly recommended!

he is an awesome professor. he's very eager to teach students what he knows. he's young, so he understands things come up. his class isn't easy , but it's not super hard either. he helps a lot with your essays. if you put the effort in so will he.

HARD! I worked my butt off and ended up with a B. Im not happy about that, but over all it was a good class. He is very help and more then willing to clarify assignments.

Great Professor! Defiantly not easy, but he does an awesome job of explaining everytthing in depth! I would highly recommend taking him for all levels of English! : )

Amazing professor! I've never had a professor who put so much effort into helping his students. He is very laid back but he is not easy. You have to work for that A. We read two books and wrote two big essays on them plus a research paper. The rest of the class covers grammar/punctuation and other smaller writing and reading assignments.

He is very challenging, and you will write A LOT. Daily quizzes are easy and straight from the notes/novels (make sure you read!). If you struggle, he is ALWAYS willing to help in person and/or e-mail (with quick responses!). Great sense of humor, very understanding, and is NEVER condescending when you ask questions. Overall, awesome instructor.

Learn a ton! Hard work. Lots of essays. Lots of reading. Great Professor.

Best English professor ever! Makes every class interesting and fun! Never had a professor who was as willing to help his students as this guy! He really challenges students and makes them work hard for their grade. Youll learn a ton in this class! Whatever you do, take him!!!

He is the most helpful teacher I have ever had! This class is not easy, but you will learn so much! Make sure you always bring the book to class though. He will send people home if they do not take it seriously. Super nice guy and very passionate. If you truly want to learn, take his class! Best teacher!

Professor Kordich is extremely helpful and will work with you all the way through. He's a cool guy but don't take advantage of it by slacking off. Essays are interesting topics, but he will make you rewrite the essay like 7 times until he feels that you have the BEST work. Don't miss class and keep focus.Finish strong you will learn a lot,Goodluck!

I loved how he came up with really interesting topics for papers. He's helpful but he can be kinda vague so by all means take advantage of office hours and after class. He makes you rewrite and add to papers several times and it can be very frustrating, but at the end you'll improve your writing and have perfected papers.

Kordich is a true teacher and obviously loves teaching. His class lectures are always interesting and involving. He is always willing to give time for feedback on essays. You will be writing a lot so slackers need not apply. If you are willing to work then the Notorious Kordich will definitely help you hone your writing. Best English teacher here.

He professional, intellectual, and creates a great environment in class. He organizes class time well and is clear cut in his instructions. He presses his students to think and gives plenty of opportunities to visit office hours and answers questionsemails promptly. You will be adequately prepared for whatever writing you must do in the future.

Really good professor!! This isn't a class to slack off in for sure, he makes you work for your grade! He's really passionate about people improving and is willing to help any way he can through email or his office hours (which I highly suggest to take advantage of). I watched myself improve through him, but again TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIS OFFICE HOURS

Awesome professor. I've never had a teacher that was so helpful! He's always willing to help no matter what and gives good advice for essays. Essays were not that easy but with him walking you through each one definitely helped. He also helps you with the research paper so much its honestly not something to stress about TOO much with all his help!

Mr K is an inspiration. He is a tough grader but that is only because he wants to make sure that you do not only skate by his class. His goal is to prepare you for what is next so he wants everything you learn to stick. He is always around for office hours, seriously GO SEE HIM and you will get so much great feedback. Take him if you want to learn.

I don't think this prof is hard, but that's what you'll think when you take his class. The reason? He grades you not based on your effort. He grades based on his standards, watch out for that. Although helpful, he likes fancy papers you need a dictionary to read. He's used to his honor student papers. Take him for structure & grammar. That is all.

He is a great professor. Always very helpful and clear in what he teaches. He has no issues helping anybody out or clarifying things. He assigns a lot of reading, but keep in mind it is an ENG. LIT class. I plan on taking my next Eng. class with him.

A VERY GOOD PROFESSOR! Mr. K taught my first class at Mt. Sac and exceeded my expectations. In just two weeks, my writing improved exponentially! His lectures were engaging, relevant, and enticing. What I do have to say is that what you put into the class is what you get out of it. However, Mr.K is more than willing to help during office hours.

Amazing teacher and is willing to help you out with all your papers! He assigns a lot of reading for homework though so if you want an easy A don't take him. Prof. K is one of the best professors out there! He's always giving great feedback and offers you all the help he can to make your time in this class even more worthwhile than it already is. He replies emails almost instantaneously. However, be sure to expect homework! He makes you work for the A !

Professor Kordich is a cool guy, however he is REALLY hard. He expects to much from students, it seemed like i was taking a 1C class. He taught me how to write better which is a good thing but i had a hard time doing his papers. DO NOT take if you are just looking for a good grade, only take if you actually want to learn,lol.

Mr.k is a really cool teacher that can be flexible. He is also really cool to talk too, and Game (video games). Attendance is highly recommended.

Really helpful and not a mean guy, but gives SO MUCH WORK! Although I've learned a lot from his class, it's just the fact that he gives a ton of work to do. So if you really want to learn, take his class. It's not an easy A, he makes you work for it. See him A LOT in his office hours (mandatory) and email him to earn a good grade.

Jason Kordich is a very good professor. He is really helpful and provides great feedback; however, he is a really hard grader. Every professor has their con and for Mr. K, his con is a tough grader. Would I take it again? No I would not, but I really did enjoy his knowledge. He will absolutely make you work for your grade.

Professor K is an amazing teacher who shows his dedication to teaching students and making sure they understand the areas that need improvement in their writing. He is VERY accessible to students, if you put in the time to correct your mistakes on essays he will be there to help you along the way (even via email). Recommend for movie lovers!

Professor K is amazing! those that say he's a poor teacher are probably lazy and didn't put in any effort. Yes, his class is hard, but he truly cares about his students education and sees the potential in everyone. One of the only professors that teaches you how to write a paper deemed appropriate by a csu/uc. Email him/visit during office hours!

Difficult class. Passing is possible if you give the class 100% effort. Kordich is friendly, go to office hours/send emails. Really tough grader, not an easy A. Your writing will improve if you take this class, pace yourself when writing papers.

Most helpful thing I can say: Kordich allows you to keep emailing him rough drafts & he emails you back great feedback (punctuation mistakes, thesis needs work etc.) He will go back & forth with you until you have the perfect paper. Thus, EASY A!! If you make the effort, you will pass. Tip: attendance is important, he basically outlines the essays!

Jason is an excellent professor. He most definitely made me a better writer. However, he was a tough grader on the papers. I tried by going to the writing center and going to his office hours twice a week. I still received a B (My fault, i did poorly on an in class essay). Other than that A's are possible. I received 2 A's out of 6 papers

I would take him again. Absolutely amazing professor. If you do your part he will do his part to help you pass. The only way to fail is if you are absolutely lazy and not willing to put forth an effort.

He's a pretty cool Professor, explains everything clearly. if you don't understand the assignment you can go to his office hr, that 1-1 time helps a lot. it's a easy class if you show up to class, turn in your work and pay attention.

For the spring semester we read 4 books, 2 of them were comic books and 2 were plays. Even though there are some reading of papers at home and writing assignments almost every week, they are VERY doable and he is always open for office hours and his emails are always open. There he will grade all of your drafts, (he has no limit) up to the due date

Loved him, made the class very interesting. He doesn't appreciate it if you come to class without reading the assigned chapters. Heavy on class discussion. Lots of reading, but very interesting. You must follow the structure of the assignments.

English 1A - MR. K is your best choice. We read comic books and a play, all books very cheap so you won't spend. He is very easy to understand and will work with you inside and out of class. He structures the class so that you can pass with a good grade and write great papers. Beyond ready for English 1C.

Out of any teacher I've ever had, Mr. K is the one who showed the most passion and care for his subject. He commits so much time and effort to each student's success. He is understanding and very approachable. He wants you to actually gain something from his class other than just simply passing. Be ready to work, learn, and contribute.

This was his first semester teaching this course, very inspiring and eye-opening. Yes, there is a lot of reading but it's a literature class so this was expected. He cares a lot about his area of focus which shows through his teaching. Mr. K is an awesome guy I would 100% recommend.

He will repeat a thousand times that come to his office hours. Slightly accepting others suggestions, especially those determine your future life somehow, wont be a bad idea. He always willing to help, if you decide to pay your effort and your willingness to make you succeed. I recommend him to those who take their careers seriously and honestly.

He is a great, funny, and respectful teacher. He makes learning very easy, he is open to any conversation that relates to the lesson and uses funny examples, and/or past experiences to further help students understand more. He is super kind and is very patient. The only downfall is he expects a lot but helps you correct your errors. :)

Great Professor! :) Like all classes, you wont fail if you put in the effort to attend class, pay attention, participate in discussions, ask questions for clarification when needed, use critical thinking skills, & finish all your papers & annotate all assigned readings on time. Critical thinking skills could be developed in class.

If you 're taking ENGL 1C or 1CH, choose Kordich! He's laid-back as long as you do your work, funny, caring, & if you need help on your essays he'll definitely devote time to help you improve. If you're planning to transfer soon, he helps with your PIQs too. He's also very accommodating if you have work/event/etc if you tell him ahead of time.

Professor Kordich genuinely cares about his students and brings energy into his class. I was never bored in his course and he engages his students during discussions. You will have to work for your grade, what you put in is what you will get out, as long as you have an open mind you will be fine. I would take him again if not for my circumstances.

I really dont understand how anyone could give Mr. K a bad review. He is not only a sweet and caring teacher, but he tries to make the class appleaing to everyone. He keeps his door and inbox open for any questions or help you may need on an assignment. PLEASE dont let this score discourage you ! Dont be a bums who like only wants an easy As.

If you are looking for an English teacher who cares about you & your goals as well as your growth in both knowledge & writing, then this is the professor to take! Prof. Kordich challenges you to expand your perspective on various topics as well as stretch your skills in writing. Class participation is vital & there is a lot of in-class group work.

Professor Kordich talks about very interesting subjects in class and does his best to make the class inclusive and enticing to everyone in it. Personally speaking, many of the literary pieces that were analyzed were inspirational and interesting, and allowed me to broaden my horizons and think critically with proficiency.

The best professor I have had, he genuinely cares about what he is teaching and has passion in every discussion. I took him for both courses and it was the best choice I made. He even gives you a head start on college application essays. You be graded on how much time and effort you put into the class.

Mr. K is a good choice if you're willing to put in the work. Class does require a lot of time for papers & reading, but he does his best to guide you. To get a good grade, you HAVE to work with him and put his input to use. Do not fall behind bc it'll be hard to catch up with everything. Take him if you want to be a better writer. Gives some ec.

Honestly, anyone who says that this class was extremely difficult didnt feel like putting in the slightest amount of work. Mr. K is always willing to help you every step of the way so that your essay is sublime when you turn it in. He works to ensure that the material youll be writing about is fun and engaging. Honestly he was a really good teacher. Engaged with his students, gave a lot of opportunities to review your work and give tips to improve them. Was very understanding and caring. Explained the assignments and gave a lot of examples as to how it should be done. However, he does give out a lot of reading and writing homework that require effort.

Taken for Spring 2020 when everything switched to online. This professor expects a lot from you as a student. He expects back what he gives to his classes. One of the best teachers I've ever had. He pushes for a deep analysis of the text and won't stop pushing until you get there. Interesting & difficult. You will undeniably leave a better writer.

Class taken during a 6week period and it moves fast. I like movies but sometimes I really had to force myself to watch some of the movies we had to see. Professor is caring though and wants everyone to succeed he reaches out to you and offers you help on your papers take advantage of the opportunities he gives you.

Kordich has a clear preference to a certain style of essay, which is slightly frustrating. However, he has a system set for you to succeed. His essay grading is still criteria driven. If you go to his office hours, he's already helped you tailor your essays to A material. I couldn't go (work), so he made time on Sundays for me. He's an awesome guy.

Professor Kordich is a really great teacher, the assignments are really easy. You do have to read, but it's not like reading a whole book, he gives you chapters or acts to read. He sometimes could come off as rude, but he's only trying to help you succeed in his class. If you take English 1A you can expect about 4-5 essays, but it's easy.

In my first semester of college and set a example of an EXCELLENT educator. At first, I was confused on how to improve my essays but his feedback makes sense and if you ask him to elaborate, he is good at that as well. He offers after class zoom hours which are optional but exponentially improve your essay. Great at communication and caring.

He filled in for original professor but was great. This guy will constantly message you about your essays and give you feedback. If that seems annoying to you then I suggest you don't take his class. However, this guy really wants you to succeed so if you want to improve he's the guy for you. I got a B because slacked off a lot. Don't be me.

Professor Kordich filled in for a professor who had to step out during the semester. He is a very helpful professor who always looks for his students' best interests. He explains all very well and is available often for office hours. Overall, a great English professor.

Professor is very understanding. He gives at least 2 changes for each essary to for rough draft and final. He worked with you via office hours on your essay if assistance is needed. He's clear about what he wants in the essays and if you follow his requests there you should be able to achieve a B at least.

Professor Kordich is a great guy. I feel bad because my class wasn't the most respectful of his time but he is very accommodating regarding due dates. His essays aren't complicated and he gives straight-forward directions on how he wants them to be written. As long as you pay attention in class you'll get an A.

Amazing professor, thoroughly enjoyed his class and English is my least favorite subject. He gives you tons of options on what to right about on your essays and gives detailed feedback on rough drafts online and in person, he gives you all the info you need to get an A Do the reading and make logical sense in your essays and you'll do well.

He is always trying to make sure you pass the class, if you miss and assignment he will let you make it up or if you need to fix your essay after he grades it, he will let you resubmit it again. He always made sure all the information from the class was posted to canvas so you wouldn't miss anything if you missed class.

Professor Kordich was a great professor in my opinion! He does grade harshly but he makes you a better writer in the process. We wrote personal insight questions for our first essay and I will definitely use them to apply to UCs for transfer. Such a cool guy to talk to about anything. Made lots of personal conversations with him throughout the term

PARTICIPATE IN DISCUSSIONS. I didn't know what to expect. I took him for the summer (LIT 3). He did assign a lot of reading every day that you had to be ready to talk about the next day otherwise you'd be lost when everyone else is giving their feedback in class. He gave a few assignments but it's all fairly easy and not too extreme.

I took him over the summer and honestly it was great. There was a lot to read that was assigned so keep that in note because you will definitely go over it. Participation does matter in that class, so pay attention and chime in once in a while. He's a tough grader but you can always ask for help and resubmit. He definitely does improve your writing

great professor ! his lectures are funny and he gives amazing feedback, his essay outline made me become a better writer. His grading is pretty clear and he is easy to talk to. he also cares about the students !! I highly recommend taking him for english 1a !!

Although I failed this class due to my lack of initiative, it was a good class. Kordich is a clear grader in my eyes but sometimes I did find difficulty with the criteria, however, whenever I asked he always gave a clear explanation for what was needed. Funny and approachable professor overall. Pay attention, do ur work, & ask questions!

He has a super clear grading criteria so as long as you put in effort, you'll get an A on your papers! Very light workload and attendance not mandatory.
