Jason Lind has been the best teacher I've ever had. I was actually really excited to attend class and if I had the chance to enroll in another one of his classes, I would in a heartbeat.
One of the most fun and interesting classes I've ever taken. His tests are not easy, but class is fun and you learn a lot. Class consists more of discussion and activities, with far less lecture. Great prof, great class.
I think Jason has been the best teacher I have had in my entire college career!! He made the 2.5 hour class taught at 6pm fun and interesting :)
Pretty straight forward and engaging.
Jason is a great professor. 220 is the only class required to get into the major, and Jason makes it a difficult class to pass with the required B-. His tests are difficult but he provides you with the tools and guidance you need to pass them. Difficult class, but I'm glad that Jason is my professor.
Teaches hard because that is what the department requires for 220. Would be an awesome teacher to reccommend, but unfortunatly he teaches at Skagit most the time. His early morning summer class was great though. Not a boring morning teacher and always makes sure his students are involved in their learning.
Jason is a tough teacher, but very good! He teaches to all types of learning styles, and keeps thing interesting
This was the longest class I had ever taken but he made it one of the most enjoyable. He would use many different activities and discussions to keep the class moving. He really expects you to know your stuff but he still makes it very enjoyable. One of the best professors I have ever had!

I had this guy back when he was at Skagit, took 3 of his classes. He rocks!! Eveyone should take something from him.
This class was very long, but definatly not boaring. The topics were interesting and he started each class with a fun activity. Tests are very hard, but group project is fair. I really enjoyed him and will take one of his classes again!
Great Teacher! Long class time but keeps the whole period interesting! Highly recommended, not too hard.
I did not like the class. But I liked him. So consider that when you take this class. He is likable, but his class is not.
Jason is AMAZING!! I was very intimidated by the class length by Jason made the time fly by!! He gives you lots of breaks and always makes sure you get out of class early. It is evident that he has a passion for the class and really wants his students to succeed. The group project kinda sucks because there are like 13 people in each group but if yo
Jason is an awesome teacher! The subject material is a little daunting, but he makes it so much fun!!!
If there's any chance that something in your life could come up where you were not able to take the test on time or be in class for the notes and group discussion, don't take Jason's class. He's a bureaucrat who won't change his guidelines even if you have legitimate excuse and try to make up work. He doesn't want his students to succeed.
I enjoyed this class.
Interesting class, but VERY VERY HARD TESTS!!!! He enjoys tricking his studnets, you may know the information but that dose not mean that you will do good on the tests. Hard class.
A two and a half hour class?! NO BIG DEAL! Jason seriously makes the time fly! He is such a great teacher. He is always there to help with any questions, and makes the material stick to you and your brain. He was one of my favorite teachers at Western. All you have to do is read the book and take notes, and the tests are not bad. TAKE THIS CLASS!
Good Class, Hard tests. Don't be afraid to ask him questions during the test. It helps a lot!!!!
Great Professor, he's never boring and if you're interested in comm then you'll learn a lot and love his courses
This was the most entertaining class I have ever taken since High School. the time goes by quickly. he makes things really easy to understand with his examples. the tests are REALLY tricky but it's a fun class.
Worst Communication class I have taken at Western. The class had zero structure. This was a technology class and everything that I learned I did so from fellow students. Jason never lectured, and is the most condescending teacher I have ever had. He taught me nothing, this class was a waste of time and money.
Jason was a good teacher overall. Read the book and go to class, and you can get an A. You will find that he talks about himself a lot. You will hear about issues with his wife and his sister's romantic problems. Unfortunately, attendance is graded, so just focus on the COMM220 material and try not to invest in his life lessons.
I think Jason is great! Super laid back, and really really funny! He classes are like 2 hours long, but it goes by really fast! I actually enjoy going. He says his tests aren't tricky, but they sometimes are, but you'll be totally fine if you put in the time. I don't know who else teaches comm 220, but I definitely suggest taking Jason's class!
Jason is by far by favorite professor so far at Western. His classes are so entertaining and the time always flies by (it doesn't hurt that he always let us out early, either!). His lectures were very helpful and I feel like I learned a lot from this class. Jason's class made me want to major in comm because I enjoyed it so much.
Very funny, quotable professor. I went to class more-so for the entertainment than to actually learn, I think it's the one way he can make sure kids come to a 6PM class. He's generally a cool guy. His tests (midterm and final) can be tricky and you need to take notes because all the info is from his lectures.
Jason is prof i would definitely recommend taking! I will admit...hard tests, but great lectures fun to be at. Not mandatory, but mandatory to do well. Jason is a lot of help. I recommend getting help from him even if you think you get it. Take a class from him you wont regret it!
Jason is my favorite professor at Western. His lectures are more like a stand up comedy show for two hours. He is hilarious, but keeps the content relevant. However, his tests are really hard.
I liked his class but his tests were pretty hard. Also, my grandma down in Los Angeles died the week of the midterm and he wouldn't let me take it earlier/later. That just ruined the class for me. :/
Jason Lind is by far one of my favorite professors on campus. He's very entertaining in the classroom and keeps his students engaged. His lectures are clear and easy to follow and he incorporates a lot of in-class activities that relate to his teachings. He is always willing to clarify when needed. Really fun to listen to. He makes 2 hours fly by!
Typically not lecture-based in his smaller classes. Jason utilizes innovative activities, games, and interaction so that the time goes by quickly. He puts an emphasis on learning communication skills that you will be able to use later in life. Easy grading, chill professor, got to know my classmates, over all an all-right class.
Lind's Comm Theory class is a joke. This class is a longer, more detailed account of what you learned in Comm 101. Lind basically keeps you captive for 2 hours and 20 min. while he walks up and down the classroom talking about his personal life. You teach yourself from the the book and he tries really hard to trick you on his tests. Avoid him!
Easy class, Jason is useless and condescending.
I feel he's a great teacher, even though its long he sure knows how to keep you awake. He uses great real life expereinces to explain what he's talking about. He's actualy interested in what he teaches so that makes it interesting for students. His tests aren't straight forward which is why there difficult.
If you come to class, you are guaranteed to get a B. Jason is very helpful if you need him but pretty much lets you run your own show! A few of the assignments are just busy work but you get credit for showing up to class &completing them!
Imagine a taller, funnier version of Howie Mandel teaching comm 220. This guy is hilarious. He would say reference something that people would laugh for like 5 seconds, and I thought it was hilarious. Ask him questions after class if you have them! And READ the material. You'll do great. Study for the midterm and final and you'll be fine!
Interested in the success of his students.
This guy takes his hour and fifty minute class to tell jokes and tell you stories about himself, but doesn't teach anything. It seems easy at first, but has trick questions. Big waste of time, and is extremely lonely
Although the class I took with him was 6-7:50 Tuesdays and Thursdays I didnt mind going. He made class lectures fun and interesting. He is very passionate about communication and keeps the class laughing!
My experience was bad. The material is interesting, but the prof makes the course really poor. Tests are overly difficult and complex, you are graded on only two tests, and one group project, with the tests making up about 90% of your grade. Lectures are funny, but very difficult to understand what you need to know. Don't take this class!
I've left Western and the one professor I remember is Jason Lind! He is probably the best professor I've ever had in college. Hilarious, approachable and made me want to minor in Communications. Must-take professor.
Part professor, part comedian, Jason is the man. He makes class fun and interesting. If you want to be a Comm major: read the book! The material is easy, and he makes the test hard to weed out all of the slackers. I learned way more than I expected.
Overall the course material was rather easy and straight forward but the tests were tricky. As for the professor the lectures were oversaturated with too many personal examples and. Advice, read the book!!! And pay close attention to the in class and book definitions. GOOD LUCK!
Prof. Lind has a really great, really well structured class. BUT, the group project is a crux, and if you have a bad group you're screwed (I did, and was held accountable for their mistakes). The class is great, but Prof. Lind still needs to learn some things about fairness and being a good prof. His tests are "tricky"... yes, they are.
Hard class that is meant to weed out the non majors. If you dont pass the first exam, good luck with getting a B in the class if you are a Comm major.
Mr. Clean! All of his tests are based off of his lectures, so you should definitely come to class. The tests are multiple choice and True/False, but he likes to change words around to make sure you really know the material, so I suggest getting into a study group and going over everything he says in class. Lectures are entertaining. I recommend!
Jason's class was a challenge for me but he is willing to help you and answer any questions. Go to class. And it helps if you print off the power points
I honestly feel like I'm in a 101 class.. He makes me angry that I pay thousands to take classes like his. We got 3 prep days for a 10 minute presentation.. Planned the night before and got a 94%. His heart is in Skagit, you can Jason doesn't want to be here. Don't take this class if you actually want to learn something.
He said that some people think his questions are tricky, that's one word for it... He has unrealistic expectations for a 200 level class. You must go to lecture, he tests off that. At the same time he wastes 50% of class time with personal stories. He says class isn't mandatory, but if you want to pass you should go. Don't take this class.
Don't buy the book, he quotes Julia Wood, but doesn't really test on it. His answers to questions during the test are useless. His poorly worded questions are the only thing making the tests difficult. The average on the first test was a D. His lecture won't prepare you for the test, don't take this guy if you want an A. Seriously, poor tests.
Great teacher! The tests are hard so you really need to study. If you study and go to class you will do fine. The people that gave Jason low scores probably didn't study.
Probably one of the best teachers I've had at Western. Relates information to your life so you actually recall things upon test day. Tests are hard and you should memorize what he tells you to study - if you do no problem. Overly fair grader and cool person. No text book this last quarter -you make your own with articles you find. Take this class.
Overtly complex guidelines that aren't actually specified in the project. He'll grade you down for nitpicky things that aren't actually relevant and neglect to actually lecture on anything he'll test on. Last day of class was spent doing a meaningless activity rather than reviewing for the final. Grades too harshly.
Class was good. Pretty much if you go, TURN IN ASSIGNMENTS CORRECTLY, and do your work then you can get a good grade. I honestly really liked his class but at the end I got really overwhelmed with the advanced stuff that we were doing and couldn't figure out how to turn in some assignments. Ended up going from an A to a C because of those.
He's hilarious and if you have him for his evening class, he makes it worth it completely. He has an amazing TA right now who is super helpful but graduating spring 2015.
I definitely recommend taking this class. It teaches you how to use all different kinds of computer programs that you will need to know how to use. But, lots of tedious busy work. And Jason isn't my favorite. He's super nice, but he rambles A LOT and talks a lot about himself and it comes off as kind of conceited. His grade weighing is weird too.
SUCH a nice guy. He is someone who really cares about you. Yes, it can get confusing, but just ask! He loves to help people who ask for help! THANK YOU JASON! I did not want to take this class, but it was actually super helpful. He cares about all of his students and loves his job.
His tests are pretty tricky, even though he tries to dispute it. You have to study hard for this class, know the lecture back and forth. Don't buy the text book, didn't use it once. The lectures are AMAZING, he is really really funny. One on one kind of sarcastic and can shove you off. He doesn't put the notes online, attend class or fail the class
I love Jason! He is my favorite professor I've had at Western! He is hilarious and genuinely cares about his students. The class is super easy if you actually do the in class work. There are a lot of assignments but they are all done in class besides the two websites and the podcast. I wish he taught more classes, I would definitely take him again!
Jason Lind is an amazing professor! I took his night class and thought I'd be tired in class, but he keeps his students awake and laughing! You can tell how much he LOVES his discipline. Amazing lectures and I wish he taught more comm classes. Homework isn't bad at all and exams are fine if you go to class!
Jason is a top 3 professor ever, do not pay attention to the person below who says that he does not give good prep for upcoming tests or quiz's. He has said in comm 220 and comm 350 (which I am taking now) that he will stay after class for HOWEVER LONG IT TAKES. Students have stayed till 12AM after class that ends at 7:50PM. hard work is rewarded!!
I love Jason! He is probably one of my favorite professors that I've ever had. If you're looking at comm classes, don't be afraid that his are evenings. It's totally worth it. Jason is so funny, and he makes lectures interesting and entertaining. He jokes around about how people say his tests are "tricky", but I didn't have too much of a problem!
Probably the most laughter I have ever heard in a classroom. Jason is a top tier professor, I have zero interest in COMM -but looked forward to his lectures because of how funny and entertaining they were. The 4 exams were multiple choice, and then we had weekly discussions on canvas. Exam material is all from lecture, I didn't even buy the book.
Excellent teacher, he is a pro at teaching comm 220. The only down side was the tests were difficult, and that is were a large percentage of the grade came from. Its important to know all the terms and definitions. Other than that he is a great teacher, and a great class.
Such a funny guy! Had me laughing the first day of lecture. He's very very very passionate about Communications Studies. Tests are a little tricky, but fair. Attendance isn't mandatory, but for me attendance doesn't have to be mandatory because I love coming to his lectures anyway.
One of the best professors I have ever had. He is such a genuinely funny and caring guy, and his lectures are super entertaining. You won't be tested on anything outside of the lectures (he also posts the PowerPoints online). The tests really aren't that tricky, just make Quizlet sets for the terms and you'll do great. Great class to fill a GUR.
Jason is awesome! I didn't find him "tricky" at all; it was an easy A for me! He won't test you on anything that isn't stressed in the lectures, so **NO need to spend money on the textbook!!** Attendance isn't required for your grade, but I can definitely see how his exams would be harder if you didn't go to class. Would definitely take it again!
He makes a 2 hour and 20 minute class at 6 pm worth every minute, I was laughing constantly and didn't even dread looking at the clock. Yes people say the test are "tricky" but those people are lazy, studying for exams are all you even have to do for this class, so just study hard and know your stuff.
Jason is an amazing, caring professor who has many stories and life experiences to add to his lectures. Yes, the class is long. Yes, he likes to talk and takes up a lot of the 2 hour 20 minutes telling stories. The tests themselves are a little tricky in the sense of how he words problems. He lectures material that isn't in the book, so show up.
Really funny, sometimes off-color. Informative lectures! You have 4 exams and that is IT for gradebook so study!!
Tests are lectures heavy with quotes he will repeat multiple times. Use the book as a guide yet dont worry about the thing he didnt talk about he dose not cover everything in the book and doesnt test on it.
Jason is without a doubt the best professor I've had so far in my college experience. His lectures make the late class time worth it and I genuinely look forward to hearing him talk. He's a dad and it shows in how much he genuinely cares for his students. If you need an adult resource on campus, he offers himself readily. Great guy, great class.
Really awesome professor, favorite one I have had at Western. His lectures are entertaining and he is a funny guy. The tests are fairly difficult, if you take good notes and study a lot then you should be fine. Lots of memorization. You have to work for an A
Jason is amazing! His lectures make coming to class worth it, time flies by even though its late at night. I look forward to coming to class. The workload is super easy to manage if you are proactive. He's super approachable and down to earth. One of the best professors at WWU for sure!
Jason is essentially a bald Neil Patrick Harris. I made it through the class without buying the textbook and only attending lecture. Final grade is based on 5 tests, a weekly online discussion, and an individual review of a research paper. Tests are based on content discussed in lecture. Take good notes and review definitions to prep.
Jason is my favorite professor I've ever had. He makes class feel like a stand up comedy routine. It's clear that he really cares about his students and he is enthusiastic about the subject. He tells a lot of stories which helped me to make connections and remember the content. His tests are as tricky as some say, study as you go and don't cram.
He was great, and although I did bad in the class, it was due to my lack of studying. Study hard for tests and it will pay off.
Fun class, all lectures but tells a lot of stories.
I love Jason and this class! He makes a 2.5 hour night class completely worth it. He definitely cares about his students and makes class fun. Theres no textbook and not a lot of work outside of class!
Made class super fun! He had great lectures and made the class fun. Study hard and you will pass
Jason is a great teacher who tells a lot of good personal stories the connect to lecture. He is a really fun guy that cracks a lot of jokes in class, but is also serious about your learning. Class is always fun to go to. His test questions are purposefully tricky because the content is easy, if you study for his test you will do great!
Jason is SO awesome. Best prof ever. This class is so interesting and useful and a very great GUR. TAKE IT!
Jason is awesome. His lectures are both informative and funny, makes the subject interesting, and really cares about class participation. Test questions can be tricky so read them more then once but the subject matter itself is easy so they should be. I would def take another class with him.
I had Jason for 2 classes, one large lecture and one technology course. He was by far one of the most caring and helpful professors I've had. His tests are easy, with trick questions that he warns you about during the lecture. Just go to class - his lectures are fun! My favorite was his philosophy on dating in college. Please take his classes.
I had never taken an online class before so I was a little nervous to do it. but he made it so easy and his lectures were very good. I took it for GUR credit but I have to say its pretty useful class for almost everyone. It was also really easy and there were 2 papers that were overall not very hard. else just discussions and quizzes and no final.
Jason is by far the best professor I have had so far. He's super funny and the way he teaches the class actually makes you want to go to class and learn more. The only grades are 4 tests and weekly discussions. His tests are pretty straightforward, and the "final" is just the last 3 classes' worth of content. If you study, you'll do fine.
I took Jason my first quarter at WWU and let me tell you.. YES. he is such a funny caring guy who really gets into what he is teaching. His classes are very enjoyable and very informative. Like any class really attendance isn't required but very helpful for the tests. I think WWU did an amazing job hiring him he's an amazing teacher. 10/10!!
Jason really made a night class worth it! I really enjoyed his lecture style, although he could get off tract a little bit, it never seemed to matter because it was always funny. He definitely cares about his students, and will even redo the lectures if you miss one. Definitely recommend taking this class.
Jason's class is well organized and he teaches practical skills. He is a nice guy and is accommodating of his students. I left his class with solid tools and knowledge for career building.
I wasn't thrilled with the idea of a 2 hour lecture at night in the middle of winter, but Jason always made them a good time! Great lectures that keep you engaged, always available outside of class time if you need him, covers material well to prepare you for exams. Hope to have another class with him!
I took the asynchronous version. We watch 2 lectures a week and have a discussion about them over canvas. Exam every now and then. Lectures are fun and he put a lot of effort into them. He made them 8 years ago but they still work. Lectures are podcast + powerpoint and sometimes they dont match up. Tests a little unpredictable. Good guy.
He is just good professor.
Professor Lind is a nice guy and decently lenient with grading, but his online lectures are from 2012 and extremely long because he rambles on with mundane points that don't pertain to the class. His lectures also don't match up with his already vague and chaotic slideshows he posts alongside them, which makes following them hard.
Cool guy
*Taken o/l during covid* - Class has weekly discussions, a MC exam every few weeks, and 2 theory research reviews. The lectures do drone on, but put them at 1.5 speed, take notes with the slides in front of you, and the exams are easy A's. He is very nice and if you show improvement will improve your grade. Easiest 5 credits I've ever had.
Clear & engaging in lecture but unclear on tests. I got A's on each test but miss just a few trick' questions, ridiculously vague wording. I want my knowledge tested. Miss me with this BS, Jason. When I emailed him, he was dismissive. I won't e-mail again to avoid retributive grading. He's a decent prof for intro courses. Easy A range.
I really like Prof Lind, though sometimes his lectures can be filled with unnecessary bloat. His online classes are very discussion heavy and require a little research each week. My issue is in his tests; they are at times more about reading comprehension than they are about knowing the info. Write EXACTLY what he says in the lectures and slides!
I took Jason's COMM 325 and COMM 327 classes online and they were easily my most positive online school experiences. His lectures are a little rambly and test questions can be worded in a somewhat tricky way, but he is funny, engaging, responsive, and may even bump up your grade. I would recommend him to any comm major.
Overall, I wouldn't take this professor again simply because his trick questions on exams, and his super long and rambling lectures.
Pr. Lind gives very interesting and entertaining lectures that were relatable and even funny at times. He has a very kind personality and there wasnt a lot of reading to do. I do feel that some of the things he says are a bit inappropriate and he might need to be more aware of certain people and their mental health situations.
Lectures are super engaging, and an all-around great guy. He is passionate about communication and gives great examples for concepts and is always available after class if you have questions. He made me want to come to class every day. I would for sure take more classes from him.
Professor Lind had great lectures and his class was engaging. The only thing I disliked was the exams, which we a bit difficult to understand. There is not a lot of time to prepare and the questions were tricky. I think I would enjoy this class more if it were online since the lectures were hard to stay focused in.
Professor Lind was not clear on when an assignment was due. Because of this many students were very confused and turned in wrong assignments at the wrong time. If you asked about turning an assignment in late he would say "yes you can turn it in late". He just never mentioned he would not give you credit for it.
He's so charming and caring. the course goes really slow and is super easy! Love Jason to death!
Jason is a great professor if you show up and do the assignments you will pass. It is a really fun and informative class. I suggest taking it. Also participation matters the most so if you don't plan on showing up to the class in person then do not sign up for this class.
Jason is really great, if you take this class and he continues the Social Media project in the future DO NOT fall behind on the posts, or it's going to be difficult to catch up for that project. little being graded, if you do not do well on that the other two projects need to be near perfect and have class activities completed in order to pass.
Jason is a pretty likable guy, and can be a great professor. However, most of his lectures are full of unnecessary commentary that can get inappropriate at times. He brings up the concept of death a lot and will make sexual jokes that can make people pretty uncomfortable. His tests are pretty easy but you definitely need to watch out for trick q's.
Each lecture was informative and engaging as he included personal stories and jokes. Use flashcards for the vocab (he provides the vocab for each test on Canvas) and go to the lectures, he'll emphasize certain points in his lectures that might be a question on a test. Turn in the final paper and you're good, it's not a hard class if you show up.
Jason was a nice and likeable guy but I felt that some of his exams had some tricky worded questions and his lectures were very long.
Jason was funny at times, but his lectures were 2.5 hours long which made it difficult to pay attention. He tended to get lost telling stories and talked a lot. His tests were easy to study for because the material never strayed away from the lectures which was nice.
He's an amazing communicator. I learned a lot from his lectures and am planning to take more communication courses because the class helped me so much. He manages to keep long lectures entertaining. Definitely one of my favorite classes taken at Western.
Jason is such a great professor. He somehow made two and a half hour lectures engaging and hilarious. There are very few assignments and he is straightforward about what to expect on tests, so as long as you study you should be fine. I would totally take a class from him again in the future.
He sets you up for success if you simply listen
great class, genuinely never wanted to miss it not because of missing the content but missing the way he displays the content. He conveys the lectures in a way that will stick in your mind and will help with the tests. if you take this class be prepared to take notes and study, he genuinely cares about all of his students and wants you to succeed.
I loved Jason's class this quarter. He made a two-hour class seem super entertaining. He gives you everything to succeed and comes up with good stories. A few multiple-choice tests, but nothing hard. Coolest professor I have ever had at Western.
took this class online async over 6week summer session. lots of lectures to listen to, but the quizzes tied right in. as long as you take notes on the lecture and powerpoints the exams arent bad. he made the topics seem interesting and was very enthusiastic. great prof and would highly recommend!
Awesome upper division class. You will feel so motivated and inspired by professor Lind. No final exam, just a long project starting from your first week of class. Just do your work and make sure you follow his instructions and everything will be ok :) I would retake this class over again if I could cuz its so fun. (If you love designing stuff)
jason was a ray of sunshine in my 6:00-8:20pm class. i dreaded attending just because of the time but after showing up jason made me feel so much better about my whole day. he was funny and i enjoyed his lecture style.
Jason is my favorite teacher at Western so far! He keeps the class engaged, clearly cares about the students, is funny and entertaining. He provides multiple definitions to terms in case one doesn't click. He's kind and answers your questions effectively. He responds to emails quickly and there to talk after class or during office hours. Take him!
I've had many classes with Lind, never a disappointing one. He really cares about the success of his students, his assignments are clear, he's easy to reach, most of his courses (except for 220) are project based rather than having exams. He also rounds up grades which is awesome. I recommend any of his upper level comm classes for easy credits.
Attendance is not mandatory, but you should show up if you want to get a decent grade. Weekly quizzes are pretty easy and based directly on lecture content and there's one short paper and a final. He is a great professor and does his best to make lectures fun and interesting.
100% the best professor that ever existed at Western. Loves teaching and really care about his students. You will never fall asleep in his class because he rocks. What I love about Jason is that he does not talk about politics and doesn't use curse words to get student's "attention" like any other professor. He is a cool and respectable professor!
Mainly test based grading. Testing is based on vocab learned in the classes which can be difficult for people who can't remember definitions well (aka me). Besides that, he was nice and a fun prof! Told fun stories in class to help us remember the definitions.
Lectures were really fun. pay attention to lecture and take notes and you'll pass. attendance is technically not required, but you wont pass without the information from lecture
Pr. Lind talks... a lot. So just get ready to listen. He doesn't give much room for students to ask questions or even put in our input. It bothered me because I really enjoy classes that allow open discussion. There are 2 group projects that count for most of your grade.
Love him. He is very fun and engaging. He loves group projects which I don't mind. Attendance is mandatory. I wish he taught earlier in the day, I want to take him again but also want to avoid taking a 6:30-8:20pm class.
Not funny. He thinks he's hilarious, he tells stories for 90% of every lecture, actual content for 10%. He also told a very long story about his son's circumcision, so be ready for that. As a grader, he's fine. Mostly multiple choice on the exams.
The funniest professor I have so far. He's a talker but in the most fun engaging way possible. I do my best to avoid missing that class because I love his lectures so much.
Jason is a very engaging professor who makes you want to come to class. He is passionate about his students and always willing to work with them one on one to solve any issues they may be having. This class is taught late, but it is not always required that you attend.
Great lectures that make learning fun. Test prep with unstuck ai alongside the free textbook helps cement the key concepts. Definitely recommended for an engaging yet manageable class.
This class was too hard for a GUR. Most of your grade is based off of 2 exams, with lots of content to memorize. Attendance is optional but you have to go to get the lecture material because full slides aren't posted. This class if fine if you feel like putting in the work. But the 2 hour and 20 minute lectures were painful to sit through.
Long lectures, but Jason is a great speaker. He can get off topic a lot though, which makes sitting through the class harder. The content isn't available in full detail outside of the lectures. Weekly quizzes that are easy if you take good notes. Two big exams that heavily influence your grade, and one paper that he grades harshly on.
Super talkative and a pretty funny guy, long lectures that are mostly stories but overall decently entertaining. The class was pretty easy, and I'd recommend it!
Majority of your grade is based off an essay, the midterm and final exam. Attendance isn't required but you have to attend in order to get material from the lecture (PowerPoint slides aren't fully posted) for your notes and to complete weekly quizzes. This class is a bit long (over 2 hours) and a lot of work but overall, it's an ok class.
Bro is a really engaged professor, and cares a ton about his students succeeding. I will say, he can be tricky in the way he words his questions on quizzes/exams, so that can be really frustrating, but that's my own problem. He's more than willing to talk to you during office hours so you feel prepared for essays/exams, I really enjoy the class.
Jason is a great lecturer. I have ADHD and struggle to stay engaged, and I would say his lectures are very interesting, especially for a theory class. Midterm and Final are difficult and entirely based on slides. Slides are not posted so you must go to class if you want to pass. Simply because of the difficulty, I wouldn't take this as a GUR.
Jason Lind was the first professor where I felt I could actually talk to and he really has a desire to help everyone do well. I am taking another one of his classes again next quarter because he was so helpful. Loves when you ask questions and will look at your project early to give you feedback.
Professor Lind has high expectations for students to meet him outside of class just to see how they did which did not line up with many students' time availability and made it harder to succeed. Overall caring teacher who wants everyone to do well but has lots of terms and lecture to memorize for a GUR class.
I took this class as a GUR and he's really nice but does kind of ramble. There's just a midterm, final, & one paper (a few quizzes that aren't worth much), so it's hard to get your grade up if you fail the midterm. However, all of the info comes from slides only and they aren't posted on Canvas so you have to attend class. Wouldn't take as a GUR.
This is not a class to take unless its for your major. He goes on tangents and the point gets lost. The tests are hard because they require you to memorize the definitions of a bunch of stuff. that being said he is really nice and has good energy in the lectures. Also doing well on the quizzes will help you a lot.
We only had a midterm and a final was honestly pretty hard. If you did bad on your midterm then the highest you could get in his class was like B+. We had one paper that helped bumped your grade up by 2 letters, you can have him check your paper before turning it in to receive full credit. His quizzes are online but midterm and final are in person
Took this as a GUR. Would not take this class again. Most of everything you learn is in class, he also doesn't post all the slides. He's a funny guy though. But you shouldn't take this class if you are looking for a GUR credit.
Jason makes classes really engaging! However, he can be a talker lol, so sometimes that can be annoying if you have had a long day. His class is in no way too difficult but his tests can be tricky (he likes to do a lot of trick questions) and requires a lot of specific memorization so be prepared to get Quizlet.
Jason is awesome! Took 4 of his classes (220, 325, 327, 350). He is a yapper which can be fun but also difficult to sit through, especially in night classes. Quizzes can be tricky sometimes. He loves group projects but they're easy for the most part. If you take advantage of in class time, you'll literally never have work to do at home.
Lots of group work but it generates a friendly environment. Good feedback is given, he will work with you. He can go on rants reexplaining things multiple times, but it comes from him just wanting to be thorough. You can't really change group members unless there is a serious problem, which I am glad there was not. Overall good experience.
