I agree "his long lectures have almost nothing to do with what is on the test" but the tests aren't all that hard ... and yes he likes it if you laugh at his jokes and some are funny ... but god help you if you if he is your advisor

terrible teacher, you will learn nothing. It sucks that he is the only teacher for this class. Don't bother doing any work, he grades nothing, hands nothing back and picks favorites. Tries to be the "cool" teacher but ends up wasting your time. avoid if possible

Jason Phillips is by far the worst professor I have ever met! I can't believe his attitude towards students...its just uncomfortable, questionable even! I would eat my arm before taking another Phillips class!

"Dr P" -- what a tool. Worst professor in the business program for me so far. He probably writes most of his good reviews on this site! He relates everything to himself and while toting a gallon jug of "tea" in one hand and a Big Gulp in the other, real professional.

Still recovering from his corny jokes and useless comments. he teaches you nothing you can't learn from reading the chapters. good thing the other professors in the major are suposedly way better than phillips or I would get out of marketing now. looking forward to diggins advertisng class in the fall. phillips should go back to Norway.

He does not teach. Like another person said, not even half way through the semester, he stopped teaching and started showing us a documentary about Star Wars for a project that he added mid semster. Almost every class he would tell us about his study tour group. He was always asking us if we wanted to sign up for a trip. I would not recommend him

He was a terrible teacher. Seemed like a nice guy but the class was completely self taught. There was no point in coming to class. The powerpoints had nothing to do with the material we were tested on and he gave up on them half way through the semester. If you have to take him, just read the chapters and make your own study guide.

If i could i would go over 350 characters. Unprofessional, lazy, and completely off topic. Tests are brutal because you learn nothing in class and ?s are worded horribly. Rarely shows for class either. stay away because you wont learn a thing and he will make no impact on your future. he def writes his own reviews on here as well. horrible

There is no point in paying for this class, He provides no service of education to students at all. He expects you to buy a $100 book and basically teach the material to yourself the test is made by the authors of the book and class time is used to go over powerpoint slides that have nothing to do with the test. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!

WCU MKT Dept. should be ashamed that this is their #1 professor for 325. How on earth they give Phillips four straight semesters to teach huge lectures consisting of 85 student is mind boggling. You think you get a steal by paying less for your education by attending a public state school, however this professor is proof that logic is false

Our final grades are way less than we earned and he knows it. P should get an “F” We all gotta unite and APPEAL. The 2013/2014 catalog has the Academic Policies and Procedures online. We have 20 class days not counting the summer to APPEAL but better WE ALL APPEAL NOW. Policy says the "written APPEAL should be sent to the instructor"

Jason was the worst professor ever. He joked around and barely taught me anything. He gave the worst exams when he did show up for class. I may as well just have read the text on my own like with an online course for what he was worth.

I received one of the few A-'s only because I taught myself from the text. I found an instructor profile of him Googling the American College of Norway website. Such BS! It says "he has received a number of student-sponsored awards naming him an outstanding teacher and faculty member." Here he goes again writing his only good evaluations HIMSELF!

He is terrible, you learn absolutely nothing. I recommend not taking him for any classes. The fact hes teaching a section of International Marketing is next Spring, is a terrible idea and I cannot believe West Chester is allowing it. His lectures are pointless, he's not a professor, he's a guy who stands in front of a class and talks nonsense

Dr. P. is simply not cut out to be a teacher. He provides pointless lectures that cover little to nothing to do with the test material. The tests are all multiple choice and ask extremely specific questions from the text. His lectures have nothing to do with the exams. In my third year here at WCU, he is hands down the worst professor I've had.

I had Dr. Phillips for International MKT and MKT in the media. Both classes he was incredibly unfair, favored the students that went abroad with him, did not give guidelines for any projects (worth 50% of ur grade) then graded them harshly and unfairly. Unable to talk to him because he cannot be reasonable. I would not take him if you dont have to

Phillips never gave any guidelines for anything in this class but expected you to go above and beyond. He claimed he didnt expect much, but you have to read 3 books all at the same time, and are expected to attend every class, with the constant threat of a pop quiz every day. Dont take him if you do not have to. He is impossible.

I am a senior, and he is by far the worst professor I have ever had. He expects us to go all out for projects he doesn't even explain. Also I cannot count how many times he has gone around the room to get an answer from everybody for the most irrelevant questions, it makes me feel like I am in elementary school. Rude professor who only teaches you about his tourist business. Dr P cancels class for weeks to go on his trips so you get a break. Only took him because I need the credits to graduate and he was the only professor open. You learn nothing about marketing and he treats you like your in middle school. Bring something to write on, no laptops allowed.

25 minute "discussion" about marketing in movies and did not give us any type of directions in order to actually do this project, just tells us to "be creative". The semester is finishing up and I do not remember a single day of learning/lecture. The first part of the semester was Phillips telling us how well traveled he was and that he really understands global cultures. The second half of the semester was us giving presentations to each other while Phillips slurped his large chikfila soda in the back

He is LITERALLY the worst professor ever! I learned nothing the entire semester. He loves talking about his self and the places he's been to. The entire semester other students give presentations about specific countries and thats your overall grade. His grading policy is super confusing and unclear! His class was an ENTIRE WASTE of time!!

This professor is hands down the worst I have had in all of my college career. He teaches you nothing. He gives out a group project or a heavy research project where some people will have two weeks to do and others will have months. He spends the whole semester on presentations from students therefore doing zero teaching himself.

Hardest professor I have taken by far, assigns WAY too much work and expects you to spend over 15 hours for his class, without realizing we have four other classes. Papers due every week sometimes multiple parts. Honestly don't reccommend, stay away.

This professor will assign tons of work for you to complete but won't explain it until after you submit it. He does not meet with students 1 on 1 and if too many students have questions about the course, he recommends you drop the class. Don't expect this professor to provide any assistance with assignments. Assignments are fairly easy.

From the first message he sent us on day one I had a feeling this guy would be difficult. The work itself isn't hard its just very time consuming. Doesn't give feedback until after the assignment is posted. Left feedback on my last assignment saying that other students provided more "lessons learned" and went more into detail. Like cool thanks..?

By far the worst professor I have ever had. Has no respect for his students and talks down to you. We are halfway through the course and he has changed the way we do homework three times. The work itself is purely busywork and takes way longer than it needs to. Tough grader too! Do not take him. Do all you can to avoid taking a class with him.

I would never take this Professor again. He did not teach us one single thing the entire semester, instead he assigned us 3 books to read and write about all three each week. This is in addition to finding 10 tourism websites and analyzing them for a digital marketing class?! Then turning the websites into PDFs.. such a waste of time and money.

Worst professor I've ever had. Literally doesn't do anything. He provides no lectures and you can't contact him. Makes you read 3 books each week and must write a paper with "lessons learned" from each comparing to marketing. It's busy work and I can honestly say I haven't learned anything of value. Literally had to come back to write a second review because he has now changed our weekly assignments for the 3rd time. We have to read 3 books every week and has now made it mandatory that we have to have a minimum of 5 lessons learned for each book. So I have to come up with 15 lessons learned each week. Complete waste of time and beyond furious.

By far the worst prof Ive had at wcu and its a shame bc its my last semester. Requires us to read a book on war in a marketing strategy and planning class. Never meets, same thing every week, has changed expectations 3 times now, has not taught an ounce of marketing material. Gives no feedback other than good or great. Do not take him!!!!!

One of the worst professors I've ever taken. He has changed the guidelines for the class multiples times which makes the class incredibly confusing and gives little to no feedback. He assigns the same busy work every week with very little instructions. Would highly suggest avoiding him if possible.

He is truly awful. I am taking this class over the summer and he has done absolutely nothing but make this class more difficult than it needs to be. He gives no information about what he wants for each assignment and changes what he wants constantly. getting in contact with him as also extremely difficult because he refuses to answer emails.

Did not teach for first five weeks of semester, and has had maybe 4 out of 15 weeks where he actually covered content. Most assignments/tests are done through Pearson.

busy work class. legit learned nothing and he canceled class every week but still had us to quizes every week. Makes you do movie papers that we have no information on. Luckily quizes were online and you had a week to complete. Not fast with emails, it feels like this class isn't a priority at all to him. Disappointing:/

This guy can shove it! Worst professor I've ever had. Ignored these ratings when I enrolled in this class and I regret it heavily. Had him over the summer and gave the entire class a failing grade for one assignment for not following directions, only there were none. He fails to provide directions and changes the assignment guidelines. Don't Take!

Dr. Jason Keith Phillips is simply teaching for a paycheck, he gives 0 care about the students. WCU please remove this man from your University. Barely anyone on RMP has anything good to say about this man.

I took this class online and it was easy work but he doesn't use D2L at all he uses MyLab. He also never answers his emails and won't let you redo and retake anything no matter what the situation is. I had trouble with MyLab in the beginning of the year and he was no help basically told me to figure it out myself. Anyways good luck!

The professor was not helpful at all when help was needed. Class overall is fine, lots and lots of reading.
