He was one of the best professors ever! You can tell that he really loves chemistry and most of all he wants you to not only pass his class but get a good grade and understand.
Great teacher... loved his class!!
very enthusiastic about chemistry, fun to take his class
excellent teacher makes things easy
He made the material very clear with lots of examples. He cares about the class, chemistry, and teaching. This is one of the best teachers i've ever had. I highly recomend taking his classes.
very helpful.welcomes questions and commments
Good but kinda boring at times.
One of the best classes i've had at ball state. he made a lecture class feel much smaller and was very good at explaining the material.
He took over my class when the first professor died during the semester.. He helped alot! He stuck with the old syllabus too. lots of fun hands on projects for small classes!
actually made chemistry fun
he was a very good teacher. I learned a lot and had fun doing it!!!!
One of the best teachers I've had so far at Ball State, explains material VERY well.
What a tool! The guy is in love with chemistry. Sad. Tells jokes that could not be more lame.
this man made me change my major. i always knew i like chemistry but when i got into his class he inspired me to become a chemistry major. i owe everyhting to him. he is the best teacher i have ever had, he is also very easy to talk to in or out of class
easiest class you'll ever take!!! i agree with the lame comments and he totally gets excited about chemistry...quite amusing!! basically it was like chem in high school...very easy and easy to get points!
Easy easy easy class! He makes chem an OK class. I agree, it was like high school chemistry. He's a great guy and gives you plenty of chances to do well in his class.
This guy made Chemistry easier than my High School AP Chem teacher and I learned more from Ribblet, too. Fun class, easy class, and easy to understand.

Loved his class...he made it easy to understand and I hate chemistry! Great teacher
Mr. Ribblett was a great professor. He explained everything clearly. The workbook was very useful.
For how hard the class is he teaches it very well.
He is the best Science teacher I have ever had. His class was my first A in a science class and his class is not easy if that tells you anything.
Best Teacher ever had, not all tests gives points for other things. Explains things clearly and is so helpful if you need it help with tons of study sessions and even one on one helpif needed
Dr. Ribblett was very helpful and knowledgable on this subject - and it didn't hurt that he looked like Michael J. Fox!!! Sooo cute!
He made a very hard class do-able!
His tests are pretty hard!
His tests were very test-y. They covered everything in the section. The class overall was basically handed to us. The material was very interesting, if you care about Chemistry even just a little.
Excellent!!
SO helpful, sweet guy. He wants to make you learn anything and everything that He teaches! Go to class tho and don't forget your notes!
One of the best people I have ever met. Great at his job. Other profs could learn a thing or two from him. GREAT at explaining things and there when you need his help.
His tests made me want to drive a nail into my skull. But he's such a genuine guy you know he doesn't mean harm.
Very good at what he does and he makes it fun.
HES AWESOME
One of the best professors! He made class fun and was very helpful!
He was awesome, one of the best professors I have ever had. Almost made me want to change my major he made chemistry that much fun. I would recommend to anyone!
I thought he did a good job with lectures and making sure there were alternate ways to learn things. He had study sessions and would answer any questions you had in class.
AWESOME PROF EVER I HAD. He is very helpful and always in his office. He is VERY decent when he talks w4 students.I was struggling in the beginning but he helped me till I made it.He makes class much fun.He is such a hard worker.I wish all the professores like Dr.Ribblet.
Excellent instructor. He has a great personality and is willing to explain material in several ways. His study sessions are very helpful for those that dislike chemistry; and they have pizza for free (always a bonus for poor college kids).
Awesome teacher. He doesn't mind answering questions and will take time out to explain. He is very friendly and enthusiastic about the subject. Even with 300 kids, he makes an attemot to learn names. His goal is to get you to you enjoy chemistry.
Always bring the notes to class. Work multiple equations. Study HARD. This professor deserves you to work as hard as he does. He is very organized in his approach and always willing to answer any questions. Hard tests, but the best Chemistry professor I've ever had.
Honestly, the most interesting, knowledgeable teacher I have ever had and possibly will ever have. So insightful and makes chemistry so interesting. Very pun-driven, but it lightens the mood on a usual basis. His tests are hard, yes, but if you listen to him, and bring notes to class that he gives you, it is an easy A. Spectacular professor.
Professor Ribblett has been one of the best professors I've had at Ball State. He is friendly, tries to make jokes that are sometimes too cheesy, will work through any problems students need help with and explains things very clearly.
One of the best professors on campus, in my humble opinion. He is genuine and always willing to help. He's super approachable and although his tests are hard, the grade reflects the effort.
Literally the best professor ever! This course was difficult, but I'm actually going to miss it mostly because of him. He makes chemistry interesting and almost even fun. He's so cheesy but it cracks me up! You have to put in a lot of time for his classes, but i almost guarantee he puts in more time than his students. He's amazing!
Dr. Ribblett was the most helplful professor I have had. As long as you ask, he will help. Chem 101 for nursing was not as hard as everyone makes it out to be, you just have to keep up with all of the information. I would highly recommend Dr. Ribblett!
This class required a lot of studying, but Professor Ribblett was more than willing to help. He even hosted extra review sessions every weekend and a couple of days before every test. The class itself can be dull because you just fill in notes outlines, but not too bad overall.
He was the most helpful teacher I have ever had. The class really wasn't as hard as everyone makes it sound. As long as you fill out the notes and do the pre-exam and go to the study session before each test you'll do fine. I also suggest not to buy the textbook because I didn't use it once.
Jason Ribblett is by far my favorite professor! He clearly shows that he cares to help his students and even offers amazing study sessions outside of class! I will try my best to get him for any Chemistry class I can! I recommend him 110%.
I hadn't taken any chemistry previous and he was willing to help clarify sections during office hours or through email, to which he is very responsive. Overall great guy and easy to talk because he wants you to do well. Skipping lectures though is a terrible idea because that's where the quiz/test material comes from.
Great professor. Really cares about his students and their success in the class. Tests and quizzes are hard, but pay attention in class and you'll make it through.
He knows his chem but he also knows how to teach. His class is a ton of work though and you go through a lot of it very quickly. He's the best science professor that I've had. I've always struggled with chemistry, and his class is challenging, but with hard work it can be done. If you have to take this course I'd choose him as my professor.
In my opinion, Dr. Ribblett is the best chemistry professor at Ball State. He is an amazing professor and my grades reflect that. On top of that, his lectures are fantastic, which allowed me to grow as a student. One of the best things about Dr. Ribblett is even though he has a huge class, he cares about all his students, and is kind.
Dr. Ribblett was by far my favorite profess my freshman year. He makes chemistry easy to understand and he is very lenient on giving points on the exams. As long as you try, you'll do well! He is very understanding and he provides great resources for you to pass. He's entertaining and I recommend him over the other professors.
Dr. Ribblett was my favorite professor this semester! He held weekly study sessions where he provided extra problems for us and was available for one on one interactions. He was very passionate about chemistry, which was very helpful because he made his lectures interesting. The tests weren't too bad if you studied his extra packets. Loved him!!
best teach here tbh
Dr. Ribblett gives great feedback, but you will only enjoy this class if you absolutely love chemistry. It is very dry and lecture heavy. He is willing to work with you outside of class and holds weekly study sessions, but his exams/quizzes are not like the practice ones. Also, my tutor told me his exams and quizzes are harder than the others.
Jason Ribblett is the most caring professor I have had throughout my college education. He genuinely cares about his students and understands that college is tough. Very easy to talk to and is such a dad (peep his white New Balance dad shoes and jorts) he is better than any other Chem prof at BSU. I highly suggest taking him over anyone else!
This is a difficult class, but he is the best professor. His tests are no piece of cake, however. He says on day one, that he knows there is someone in the class that will get an A without studying, and he doesn't want to let that person get an easy A, so he WILL put at least ungraspable question on each test.
God bless this man. He genuinely cares about each one of his students. He explains things very clearly and makes tough material seem simple. He holds review sessions before tests and will answer every question that you have. I absolutely suck at chemistry but he made it bearable. I would 10000% recommend taking his class!
Chemistry is not an easy course, and Ribblett goes the extra mile to make sure that you have access to him outside of class for office hours, weekly study sessions, and exam study sessions. He is very helpful when you have questions and the nicest professor out there. Even if you are not good at science, you can for sure pass this course.
Ribblet is an AMAZING guy. However, his lectures were very dry and often I got confused, he sometimes went too fast. He does hold weekly study sessions and is always eager to help. His tests are hard if you are even the slightest bit confused but he does as much possible to help everyone out.
Mr. Ribblet is the best professor i have had at ball state!! I was so worried coming into college having to take chemistry but with Mr. Ribblet he made it enjoyable. I have done better than ever in his class and chemistry is a hard subject for me. He grades fairly nicely and easy on his test and quizzes as long as you try. I recommend him 100%!!
Dr. Ribblett is a huge nerd, which he will admit to, and that makes class really fun. Chemistry will always be difficult because it's chemistry, but Ribblett does his best to help everyone. Weekly study sessions on his own time, feedback on exams/quizzes, accessible outside of class. 10/10 would recommend.
He holds a study session two nights before every exam and explains EVERYTHING so well! He is super understanding and understands that this is a hard course but wants nothing more than his students to pass!
Goes off on tangents for minutes at a time, puts the class very behind in notes. Hes so smart, he cant simplify the lecture enough. Expects students to have way more knowledge coming into class than weve been taught beforehand.
As long as you put in effort you will be fine in my opinion. He is not the best prof, but also not the worst. He is good at explaining when you ask him questions and tests and quizzes are almost like the study guides. He is pretty cool, but lectures can get boring. I did well in the beginning, but it only gets waay harder. do the ec&hw, i didn't <3
He held study sessions outside of class that were not only helpful, but also so much fun. He made the class enjoyable and it's obvious how much he care about the students and the material. He does like math though, but even if you don't he is worth it
Dr Ribblett is funny, knowledgeable, and cares about student success. CHEM 101 is a tough course, with a TON of info, and he's upfront about it. He is available for extra help, holds study sessions for all his students to attend, plus has great jokes too! Attendance is non-mandatory, but you will lose points. Show up, and be ready to work!
Ribblet is an amazing teacher! He is so caring and understandable, he leaves little notes on each test and extra credit clicker points in almost every lecture so definitely go! If you don't go to class you will miss out on A LOT of material but it's only because the class itself is so difficult.
Dr. Ribblett is easily one of my favorite professors that I've had at Ball State! Chem 101 can be a difficult course but Dr. Ribblett does his best to explain the material in a way that makes sense to his students. He is always available for help and will post study aids before every test that help you to see what concepts you are struggling with.
This was a fairly difficult class, but Dr. Ribblett was very enthusiastic and really cared how well you understood the material. He worked well with the class and individual students, and always tried to make class easier to understand and fun to get involved in. If you take him for this class it will definitely benefit you to contribute in class.
He is a great teacher who will help you when ever you need it and when he has his study sessions, he brings snacks for you. Even though some of the stuff we learned was confusing he would try his best to explain it in a better way and its good to go to class every time because the tests are NOT multiple choice.
Dr. Ribblett is a real gem on Ball State's campus! He is probably the hardest professor I have had but also the most helpful which makes his class great. He is hilarious too and very accesible. Didn't use the book for his class. Slow grader, but you can't even get mad at him for it. Make sure to attend class and he is very nice grader, show work.
Ribblett is such a good guy. He is so passionate about Chemistry and he will really teach you if you ask him, and then he will go on little tangents about chemistry. The class itself is difficult, and my friends and I went to every Monday session he held at night and that is where he really shines. Regret not finishing class with him bc of COVID.
Since he is so involved with his subject it makes you want to be involved aswell but he will also get off track in lectures and begin to say unnecessary facts
Phenomenal guy to say the least!!! I wish all my professors were like him. Hes very thorough and will do anything in his power to help you understand the material as long as you reach out to him. Hes a little goofy but hes a genuine human being who will do anything for you!!!
Dr. Ribblett was an amazing chem teacher and I genuinely loved going to his class. You could tell that he really cared about us passing and made sure every class was interesting. I never used the textbook, just mostly watched the lectures and went to his science nights and passed with an A!
Absolutely amazing professor. Attendance points, but always willing to work with you. Truly cares about his students.
Dr. Ribblett is seriously one of the best professor you will ever have at Ball State. If you have taken CHEM 111 and did not like your grade go with Ribblett for 112 and I promise your grade will change at least 5% from 111. Utilize office hours and any workshops he sets up it is how you set yourself up for success.
Dr. Ribblett really tries his best to help you understand the material. He goes over each concept in detail and does examples alongside. He provides practice packets covering every concept learned each week and will post answers to them. He allows 1 sided cheat sheets for exams which is literally the best. He also annotates your work well.
One of the best teachers for chemistry I've had. Makes the material fun and entertaining. WILL help you if you are struggling in material and grades. Attending the class in-person and online wasn't an issue as he makes the homework, quizzes, etc clear and simple. Top pick for this area of study and an easy A/B.
Dr. Ribblet is by far my favorite professor I've had! He is extremely caring and really wants the best from you. He takes time out of his busy schedule to help if you need it. He understands that the course is very hard but he is more than willing to help. He answers emails very fast and communicates well! 10/10 recommend!
Great Professor gives out extra credit as well!
He is a good professor but his tests were hard and nothing like the study sessions for the lab. For the lab before the exam instead of a wet lab we did review and it was nothing like the exam. His exams are extremely hard and his test average is a 70%. His homework is easy. The weekly quizzes are also really hard.
He teaches the class by having you do notes at home and doing homework in class.
Jason is the best teacher I've ever had. He makes it hard to fail his class. As long as you go to class and watch the topic videos you won't fail. He has the class set up to watch the notes as homework and do worksheets in class. I didn't think I would like this but it was super helpful. He makes dad jokes too and keeps class entertaining. 10/10
I LOVED him for Chem 112. I 100% recommend him to other kids. Pros: great teacher meaning you really understand the topic), VERY accessible, very reasonable w/ deadlines, TONS of partial credit, very fair, cares about students. Cons: HARDEST of the chem112 teacher, tons of homework, worksheet every class which sucks, but helps tons on the exams.
All of his lectures are posted online. Best professor, 10/10. He always brings cookies and snacks to his study sessions. He really is a great professor.
I LOVED this professor! If you do the homework, in class assignments, and watch the lecture videos then you will pass the class! The class is a flipped classroom and lecture videos are long, but you can speed them up. There is extra credit built in and on the tests. There are 6 tests plus a final. Overall, I would definitely recommend!
Ribblett is such a great guy and a spectacular professor. If you are looking for a professor who cares and helps outside of class time, thats him. He hosted study sessions every wednesday evening and even brought cookies, fruits and snacks. Me and my group mates went almost every. The labs were fun and he checks in on us. Attend pls BEWARE: Dad Jokes
he makes it simple to pass his class even though the subject matter is very difficult he does his best to support students he does weekly sessions and you can tell that he puts a lot of effort into what he does. the best prof i've had at ball state so far
He's an amazing professer, could not recommend him enough. He's an very attentive to his studants and will work with you in any case.I had a medical emergacy and he was very quick to offer his help and worked with me to get me caught up
Great at teaching. Helps you learn through repetition. Very caring.
I LOVED DR. RIBBLETT! I for sure was nervous for this class but he is very in touch with his students and has so many opportunities to get help outside of class. He gives you opportunities for extra credit often and to gain points back. He is so understanding as well. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students.
If you can get him for chemistry, get him! He is the best; the class is hard in itself, but he makes it easier all around to not fail.
Super friendly and supportive. You definitely want him as your chem professor. The class is pretty difficult in my opinion, but he gives you so many resources and he truly wants you to succeed. All lectures are online (classtime is all assignments, no lecture). You get to correct your mistakes on tests and he has a million TAs.
Dr Ribblett was awesome, he made the class challenging, however if you try in the class by studying, coming to lab, and try your best to understand you are almost guaranteed to pass even if you have trouble understanding. He genuinely cares about his students, he is very passionate about chemistry and makes it easy to understand. Take his class!
I loved Dr. Ribblett. He made the class worth going to. If you follow the way to succeed that he tells you in the begging of the semester you will pass the class. He genuinely cares about his students, he is very passionate about chemistry and makes it easy to understand.
Professor Ribblett is the most caring and passionate professor I've had here at Ball State. He lectures so well, he's so understanding, and genuinely cares about you as a student. He doesn't just see school as a huge test. If you have to take CHEM101 choose him!! (There is a lot of work but it comes in handy if you aren't good at exam taking)
Dr. Ribblet will likely be one of the most caring teachers that you have at Ball State. He truly is there for you and wants what is best for you. He has children our age, so he understands how we feel and everything we have going on. He gives homework every night but you can get ahead and get all of it done for the units. He is great!
One of my favs. He does test corrections which are really helpful if you get a bad score. He also does weekly study sessions where he gives free cookies and extra credit! Wouldnt say his class was easy but if you put at least 50% effort you'll pass.
Dr.Ribblett is the most caring professor you will have. The exams are tough but he does test corrections to help with that. He holds weekly study sessions and has made fudge, soup, etc. for them and brings cookies to everyone. He brought donuts into class too. He makes sure to get to know the students even though the classes are big.
Ribblett is a caring professor who makes the class engaging. The flipped classroom format with lecture videos and in-class worksheets is effective. unstuck AI is a great study tool alongside the textbook.
There is a lot of work and the material is not easy by any means, but he truly wants you to succeed. There is a lot of extra credit. Test corrections will save you on a bad test. Attendance is mandatory but he is very understanding if you have a valid reason to miss class.
Ribblett is an AMAZING teacher!! There is a lot of out of class work but overall the work is pretty easy. He does a flipped classroom so you have to watch the lectures on your own time. He is very experienced and understands that people may have other things going on. Take him if you get the opportunity!!
He is super chill and he cares a lot. He tries his very best to make sure everyone is set up for success. However, if you don't show up to class it will be hard to keep a high grade because of all the participation points, but it makes it super easy to pass if you show up and stay on track.
Chem101 might be overwhelming, but Ribblett makes sure you have every step to succeed. He cares very deeply about his students. Take notes outside of class and ask questions in class, he will help you :) He offers points back on every exam, and accommodates to YOU. Not to mention he brings treats every now and then! Best professor I've ever had.
Dr. Ribblett is THE professor you want for chem. He cares so much about the success of his students and provides many resources to do well. Don't expect to do good in the class if you do not put in your part though. Show up to class, do the notes, participate, and go to study sessions!!! He does flipped classroom style which really was beneficial.
