Prof. Samuels is a great teacher but don't expect any free easy grades. Tests are ruthless and most of the time have to be curved because people do so bad. Expect to study long hours if you even want a B.

Prof. Samuels is an incredible teacher. He does not give out high grades easily, nor should he. He expects his students to attend class, do the homework and study for his exams. This is not kindergarten..A+++ as a teacher

His explanation is very clear and easy to understand. Exams are not easy, but he gives a practice exam before each exam including final. It helps you get a good grade. Doing homework is important to get a good grade (it also helps you understand the subject).

The final is like an extra credit assignment in his class. He gives you your tentative grade before the final so you can choose if you take it (as of spring 06). He is totally a fair grader. He explains well. Take notes, do assignments, make sure you understand, then you'll be fine. And he is kinda cute! :)

He was a great and cute professor!!! People stated that his classes are hard but i found it very easy. If you just do the homeworks (homework every class) and pay good attention during the class you will b fine!!

Great Professor. He cares about what you learn and really tries to make it fun. He wants you to know both what your doing and why your doing it. You will learn a lot in his class, however his classes is not for those who dont want to do any work or think. His class is a challenge, but because you learn so much from him, it is worth it.

He is a great teacher at first I didn't get his methods. But now I see the reasoning in how he teaches & plan on taking statistics with him. He gives you alot of tools to help study & takes the time to explain if you have issues.

He explains everything in laymans terms so it's very easy to follow the material. He has a good sense of humor and really cares if you have a question.

For someone who really isn't into math, this class went well. Professor Samuels really cared about what he was teaching. If you ask, he'll answer any questions you have. He made my mandatory math class very bearable.

Are you a hard-working student who ask questions, participates in class, and does homework? Then take him. You'll like him. He's very helpful and knows what he's doing. People who complain about him are typically C-average students. Don't listen to them. *WARNING* MAT150 is NOT transferrable to most 4-year colleges.

Statistics is not an easy course and his course is not impossible but you will need to study and attend class. Lots of mandatory HW and quizzes. I say he is a good professor but not great one..

those who say that samuels is a bad professor must not really like school. i took him for statistics, which i had never taken and received an excellent grade, he makes the material understandable and easy. he does use the textbook ALOT for HW and he does Quiz like crazy, but it is all worth it and really the material couldn't get any easier.

The best math teacher i ever had!! he explains everything really clearly, and then if you dont understand something he will answer your questions until you do. he will stay after class to help you! he puts his lecture notes online, i downloaded them to study from, they are organized and really helpful, and i wasnt scrambling to write in class.

took an online course. as long as you diligently do your hw, and redo hw as practice, you will do well on quizes and tests. the text is very self-explanatory. prof's notes are excellent. just follow his course map and you will do fine. My A was well-deserved.

Very easy and helpful. Willing to give second chance on missed quiz and homework. I loved his presentations and lectures which made understanding the material much easier. I would recommend him fully at least for the online class I am currently taking.

Really cool professor. His class was very easy. Some people say he comes late to class, which he does but he still gets the lesson done. Teaches very clear, and when ever you have a question he'll make sure to answer it with full explanation.

Great professor. Have actually taken him for Calc 2 and liked him so much that ended up taking him for another semester. The assignments are not overly hard but some of the exams are pretty complicated. On the other hand, he curves his grades so no worries if you get 80/100 because it's very possibly an A.

One of the greatest professors! Well-spoken, innovative, and yes, demanding! Lots of homework assignments and hard exams will make you know Mathematics better and be prepared for a 4-year school! Great professor and explains brilliantly. if u have a hard time in class he does give time outside of hours too. only thing u shud bewre of is that he is a tough grder. if u take the class lightly u will not receive a good grade. getting an A is tough but not impossible.

This guy was so Boss! Seriously, a real good guy. Show respect and get respect. Make the effort. He is serious about students being success. Do the work and have fun! I would recommend him again!

I barely cracked the text as he posts audio lectures & hand-written lecture notes for each chapter. He's engaging, kind, offers extra credit, & brings life to mathematics - a rare gem!

I took Professor Samuels for Summer Immersion in Math 56. His teaching styles are very easy and unique. He really cares about his students and wants them to pass. He's the best math professor and I ended up passing his class with a 93.

The way he taught trig was amazing. If you don't understand math take him he will make sure you get it front and back. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ASK HE IS NOT RUDE.

His grading criteria is clear; he answers emails quickly; his lectures and notes are very clear. Do your self a favor, get one of those scientific calculators for this class. I used the book as reference, his notes/lectures are solid.

I actually learned so much from the charming and funny Prof. Samuels . I still use his lessons even though it was almost 20 years ago. No one else has been able to teach me as well. I ended up failing because of my own issues at that time, but I'd gladly take the whole course over now that I've overcome those difficulties. n.

at first it was very hard for me because this was my first time taking math online however he made it super easy and keep in mind you basically teaching yourself this math but he is always available when you need him and the website he uses is very easy as long as you are reading it and practicing the problems multiples time!

Professor Samuels is awesome, I failed this class before wish I had him the first time. He explains everything well, then answers every question you have. You can download his notes, watch his lecture videos. I emailed him with questions and he answered, felt like he's always there.

I got an A in this course by making advanced spreadsheets that made tests easy. Even without this tactic, you can turn a B into an A by completing an optional extra credit project and 5 optional extra credit essays. This course does not count as a major specific statistics course so I have to take a business statistics course after I transfer.

Dr Samuels is just the best. The material is really hard, but he explains it so well, and makes it so clear. When i listen to other people give explanations in other videos they sound like confusing nonsense. He is very helpful, will stay and answer every single question you have.

Prof Samuels is a really good professor. He takes time to do extra sessions for the class if you dont understand and really tries to help people get to grips with the material. I would highly recommend you take this class. It is not always easy but I dont think any Calc 3 classes are.

It was my second time taking the class, if I had Professor Samuels the first time i would have passed. He provides so much help and his explanations are so clear. I emailed him and he got back to me right away. I didnt think an online math class could be okay, but it really was.

Grading was based off of discussion boards, hw, quizzes and exams. I love math and yet, this class was very challenging at times so dont be afraid to ask for help. NO late assignments! If its late, hell only give 50% of credit. Understanding & respected professor! Just have to really work for a good grade.

Professor Samuels is AMAZING! Throughout my academic career math has always been my worst and least favorite subject. So when I first had statistics I was very nervous especially because the class is online. But professor Samuels is so clear with his way of teaching and the class is so stress free. Easily my favorite class in my freshman year.

Prof Samuels is really good. He is very patient, he will explain each topic forwards and backwards until you understand it. He took some really hard math and made it much easier to understand. I am glad I took this course with him.

This professor is very engaged and helpful. There are many resources at your disposal to help guide you through too. Summer statistics class is challenging because the material moves very quickly. I'd be careful to take this class in the summer if you are like me and like your math to move more slowly.

Professor Samuels was so helpful the whole class. Math is really not my thing, i was worried i would not pass. But he has recorded lectures for every topic, no other online class i took has something this good. And he answered every question I had, and i asked a lot. I passed, i can graduate!

Professor Samuels is the best/most comprehensive math teacher I've had at BMCC, and perhaps ever. I appreciate that he uses language that makes it easy to process for all styles of learners. He seems engaged in creating a curriculum that makes sense to students and he adapts it when necessary. He's gracious and not condescending.

I took this online class over the summer. I was worried because I never took an online math class before. Prof Samuels was great. When i had questions, he answered by email, and a couple times we met on Zoom. He was like "any more questions?" making sure i got it, not trying to get rid of me. Full respect.

Professor Samuels is a great professor to take, esp in online classes if you are taking many credits, and/or e-permit. The work is doable, and easy to access through the Math Pearson website ($89). I finished the entire online course in two weeks. One midterm, one final, 8 DB's, 7 quizzes, and 26 (e-z) hws. The tests q's are the same as the hws.

I just cannot say enough good things about him. He is the best. Please make every math professor like him. I just love him. He is amazing and caring. He always inspires me.

This is an amazing math professor. Like, why cant every math professor be like him. He explains everything so clearly, and he is so helpful.

There are no meetings for the online class but he has links to videos that he made himself solving each math equation that you will be learning, he gives you 1 week to complete assignments, and there are 2 exams. Very essay class , if you just complete the work.

He is an amazing professor. I got freaked when I saw the grading criteria as the there were only 2 exams. One was 30% and final 35%. I got really worried as I have taken it in winter. He is available via emailBut you have to pay attention and work hard. But it's not that. Exams are similar to quizzes and homework. At the end, things went well.

Professor is so nice. I would suggest to choose him.
