I loved bro. Shaw he's funny and has enthusiasm for what he teaches! he has awesome stories from life experience that relate to what we talk about and he has awesome gory pictures sometimes too! he's rad!

He is a good teacher. If you really put time into the class you'll do fine. Quizzes and going to open lab helped a ton. The lab tests can keep your grade up even if you struggle with the lecture exams. He is fair with the tests, no curve but gives points back if a certain percentage misses questions.

He is really good at explaining things so that they make sense. If you are good at memorizing the process of how things work, then you will really like this class!

Word of advice... for the learning model points, create a group where you answer all his disscussion board notes in small groups and do it right before the test. make a study guide and you will have the answers for the test.

I loved this class, he made it so fun and interesting. he was nice on the grades, maybe to nice sometimes. Love his grading system thou. He wanted me to really succed in my study of the BIO then worship the subject that he taught. Thats rare with science teachers! It is still a tough class. Just show up and study hard and you will be fine!

This guy has had YEARS of experience as a physical therapist. He knows ALL! He is VERY visual in teaching, exceptional with his explanations and spends any 1-on-1 time you will ever need. Its a heavy load, but thats the nature of the class. He emphasizes understanding/owning physiological concepts, rather than just memorizing steps=REAL LEARNING!

Take him this class from him. His exams are hard but all you have to do is study hard and learn to answer his questions. You can drop by his office and he will sit with you and do 1 on 1s with you. Do the things he sugests. They really help. If your not serious from the begining of his class drop it right away. It requires a lot of study time.

He has the general interest of his students at heart, I never expected his teachings and Bio class to strengthen my testimony SO much! simply a great teacher.

One my favorite teachers. He teaches a really tough subject and does it really well. his office is always open and you can always get help from him. He was awesome!

The best thing about his class is the study guides. they are EXACTLY whats on the tests and he dosent put a bunch of crap that you dont need to know on them. Lectures are fun and enlightening, uses personal stories to explain complicated subjects which helped me so much. Even if you don't have to, take a class from this guy!

He thinks that everybody in the class has already take BIO 264. I wouldn't take American Epidemic from anybody else. Everyone in the world should take this class.

I also loved how he would ask us questions in class that related to the medical field and really got us thinking as if we were really in the situation. Loved him, would take him again in a heartbeat!

Brother Shaw is awesome. He's probably one of the best Biology teachers I've seen. Lecture is worth your time with neat insights. He knows so much about physiology and the body and loves it too. He'll work with you on getting a good grade. Writes up all his tests and actually composes the national physical therapy exam. GREAT teacher.

I was extremely nervous about taking this class having heard that it was difficult from many of my friends. Having now taken it I wouldn't dream of taking it from anyone but Jason Shaw. He is an excellent teacher and a very intelligent man. I was surprised that he was so very willing to do so much to help any student get a good grade.

Shaw made a hard class reasonably easy. I would recommend taking this class from him, he gives everybody 5 free points on exams and you can drop one. Go to lectures, and go to class before he opens the test because he reviews the Q's beforehand.

Shaw is one of my favorite teachers. great job of getting student input and will try to be fair on his grading. The subject is what you put into it. If you dedicate the time to learn, memorize, and "own" the concepts the tests will be easy, and you can determine which questions are trying to be tricky. If you don't study, the tests will be HARD.

Brother Shaw is the best! Don't take A & P from anyone but him! He is very easy to understand. Take notes well. Review the notes daily. Think of concepts you don't understand and ask about them in class. He cares a lot about his students. He will help you if you go to his office with questions.

Brother Shaw was a very kind teacher. However his teaching style wasn't my favorite,he gives you tons of information at a very fast pace, no homework- studying is the homework. Make use of the study guide he gives you- warning, this is a study GUIDE not a worksheet to be easily filled out. Devote your soul to this and you'll be fine.

I can't say enough good things about Brother Shaw. I struggled so much with this subject but Brother Shaw did everything he could to make sure that I passed. His tests are HARD but he is the most kind and fair teacher I have ever had. I would never take this class from anyone else.

1) I-Clicker quizzes every class. BUT they are NOT hard as long as you read the emails he sends out on what you should prepare for. Because we have I-Clicker quizzes every class 1) attendance is mandatory and 2) our grades are not solely off of the exams. 2) Do not ignore the readings! Do the readings before class so you can follow along and learn

The testsexams are not hard as long as you study and prepare. You have to "own the material" meaning you cannot memorize and expect to pass. It seems hard but it really isn't. You are EXPECTED and REQUIRED to spend a lot of time preparing and studying for this class. If you can't do that then continuing to BIO 265 is not an option.

Brother Shaw is my favorite teacher! I took him as a freshman for both BIO 264 and 265. It is a hard class but if you need it take it from him! He is so nice and caring for his students if he sees that you try. He is very willing to help and he loves to get invested in his students education and find ways to help them succeed. GO TO THE TUTOR!!!!

Brother Shaw is the single most amazing science teacher I've had. He's so knowledgable and absolutely loves his students. The class is tough, the material is hard, and the test are grueling but Brother Shaw prepares you and makes the class so enjoyable. FAVORITE class of the semester. Mr. Shaw is very helpful in and out of the lecture hall and will always make time for a student. During the lecture, he sometimes moves a little quickly so you have to speak up if he is moving too fast or if you don't understand. He will take the time to stop and re-explain something for you. Make sure to take notes & study application of the info.

Brother Shaw is the easily the greatest teacher I've ever had in my life. He has very visual ways of explaining really hard concepts so they become clear. His exams are hard but he gives you every possible tool to be successful. If you take the time to know the study guides and go to class you will do well on the exams.

Jason Shaw is a great professor. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches. Expect him to often derail from the material an explain applications to life outside the curriculum. As for a SCIENCE foundation credit this class is probably one of the hardest you can take, but very enlightening about diabetes and nutrition.

BIO 264 was a tough class for me, so I was scared going into 265, but Bro. Shaw was so great that the class became not so intimidating! He teaches very clearly, and in memorable ways. he really prepares you for tests. You still have to work hard on your own outside of class, but you can get an A! There is hope!

Great lectures and had clear expectations. If you do the readings (1-3 pages) and take good notes you will be fine. Extremely fair on his tests and he covered the important material so well that I didn't really have to study. Only complaint I had is we had a bunch of students who would ask dumb questions about assignments and take up 15+ minutes.

Shaw is a great teacher! However, he moves really fast, and expects you do do the textbook readings. The way his class works is that you go home, do the readings (basically teach yourself as much as you can) then in class he just answers questions. So if you're someone who doesnt like to read, and do work on your own, this class will be hard.

BIO 461 is a tough class. There is a ton of material to learn and thats just the nature of it. Bro Shaw is a great teacher. He gives awesome spiritual thoughts at the beginning of every class and encourages students to come to his office for help. He cares about student and is very helpful. Very clear teacher. Would recommend taking him.

Lectures are so much fun and you learn so much. This is a tough course that resembles a physiology class in medical school. There is nothing that will prepare you more graduate school. The classes he teaches are no joke, but he is really good about the way he explains things, and set up peer tutoring to help students.

Brother Shaw is amazing. I have taken FDSCI 204 from him as well and loved it. I cannot say enough good things about Brother Shaw. He truly cares about his students and will do anything in his power to help you learn and do well. He is not going to sugar coat things and does not put up with students not trying their best.

This class is hard. The volume and course load can either make or break your grade. Luckily Shaw provides weekly study guides to help guide you through the material. His lectures are based on questions turned in the prior day and he grades you off of 6 case studies, two weekly quizzes, and 6 exams. He is super smart and helps to explain material.

Great teacher! Knows his stuff and really works with you to help you inderatbd the material. Make to ANSWER THE EXAM ESSAY QUESTIONS before the exam. The better you can answer them, the better you'll do on the exams. If you put in the time and effort you can pass with an A without a problem!

Bio 265 is just a tough class! Bro. Shaw really prepares you for the exams though! Plus he offers tons of extra credit and there is almost always a curve on the exam! He can be boring at times, but he really knows his stuff and will drop hints about what is on the tests.

Brother Shaw is amazing! He definitely goes in depth when explaining concepts, but it helps to give more understanding to the material. He moves fast, but whenever he is in his office you are welcome to stop by and get more help. He gives you all the tools you need to succeed in the class, and will even pair you up with a study partner if you ask.

Brother Shaw is the best!!! Can't beat that Hunt-Shaw combo with Bio 461. You can tell he is intelligent and really knows his stuff, so sometimes he goes on tangents when he gets excited. But he brings it back around and explains difficult concepts very well. This class is all about developing a growth mindset, so get ready to study and own it!

This class is a beast, hands down. There is so much material to cover, but in my opinion, Shaw is the only way to go. He is VERY clear about what you need to know, and ALWAYS answered my emails within minutes - and I sent a lot! He is really funny and quirky, and always ends up curving tests! He'll give back points for unfair test question too!

Bio199 is a 1 credit class, so it was not difficult at all. Bro. Shaw has lots of life experiences that he shares to teach us about the Biology workforce. The class ended up being one of my favorites.

Brother Shaw is unbelievably smart. He as a phrase for his class "Christmas every day" he does his best to help you succeed in his course. He can field and answer almost any question you throw at him and give you a detailed answer in relation to the class. Bro. Shaw was a very caring prof. He gave so much extra credit, gave extra points on exams and little quizzes, and wanted students to apply what they're learning. Because of one extra credit assignment, I learned about my very serious iron deficiency. He's passionate about health and about students. I love the American Epidemic course from him!!

I remember the very first day of Bio 264L, I was overwhelmed with all the new terms that I've never seen before it was my first time learning about epithelial tissue. He was so nice that he corrected all the terms that I wrote wrong in my note. Warm hearted person. This class offers you a lots and lots of extra credit. It will be easy to get an A.

If you want to go into a health profession, you need to talk to brother Shaw. Bio 199 is just an intro class to different careers but it is so worth it just to get to know him. He will be a huge help as you go through school and prepare to apply for graduate school. If he doesn't know something he has lots of connections to people who do.

Best professor I've ever had!! Hardest course I've ever taken, but my favorite. GO TO LECTURE. He specifically focuses on concepts students miss on tests. He responds quickly to emails and his door is always open for help. He's a literal genius and very compassionate. You'll have to work the hardest you ever have, but w/ Shaw, you'll succeed.

He is honestly an underutilized professor. He is extremely knowledgeable in the course material and conveys it in a manner that will cover everything on the exam. He also is numbers driven and will analyze (via stats) if there are issues in the class then rectify them! He believes in his students. The essays are the key to success in the class.

Bro Shaw is the best. His class is so easy and if you actually try it will be so helpful too. He lets you do your own thing to get credit if you need to or just want something that is more directly beneficial to you. I loved his class, he's super smart, kind, hilarious and helpful. If you need anything he's your person. TAKE HIS CLASS.

199 is meant to be easy, and Bro. Shaw keeps it that way. There are a few assignments about careers. Each class is focused on a certain field, and if you aren't interested in that path, you can skip the class and propose a way for you to earn points another way, somehow related to your career. This class actually changed my entire career plan.

Brother Shaw is absolutely wonderful! I am so glad I took Bio 199 from him and when I get closer to med school I will definitely take this class again! Attendance does matter but there are no quizzes, or tests, or anything! Just 1-2 weekly assignments due before class every week!

I enjoyed learning from Brother Shaw because he has direct experience with Pathophysiology from past professions. He also is more focused on helping students learn the material than teaching direct answers to tests, which I appreciate. He cares about the success of students entering into future medical professions.

Super easy class, pretty much just goes over different medical careers to help you decide what you want to do. 2 assignments due every week but you can talk with him and choose to do other things for points instead if you want. Really nice guy who gives valuable advice and insights. No exams. I actually look forward to going to class every week

Brother Shaw is very clear on what you need to do to receive a good grade in the class. His lectures are interesting and it is very important to attend class.

the textbook is free. This lecture class has a lot of clinical photos/ videos. in the lecture, he will go over where to focus in the book. he also has video links in the book that help with some of the harder concepts. exams are every 2 weeks. midterm (week 7) and final are accumulative. pre-class quiz on the reading. 3 worst quizzes dropped.

Brother Shaw was amazing. Lecture is vital if you want to do well in this class. This class is very tough but Brother Shaw and Hunt make sure you have everything you need to do well.

Shaw's lectures can be hit-or-miss, but using Unstuck AI and the free textbook helps solidify the concepts. Exams are tough but doable if you stay on top of the material.

Awesome teacher, I liked that he did talk about concepts in depth. He also quizzed us every class period, and had funny stories. the anki cards are a life saver. I am not a textbook person but the videos are great. I wish the information was easily accessible on a PowerPoint of what it is we need to know, just because the book is overwhelming

Stop reading and just take the class from Bro Shaw.. Hilarious guy who deeply cares for the success of his students. 1-2 weekly assignments. If you miss a class or an assignment, he will give you the opportunity to make it up and then some, by doing something that will help you achieve your goals (i.e attend an info session, talk to a dentist etc.)

Bro Shaw is very helpful and caring. He seems a bit cold at first but he is very enjoyable to talk to! Bio 461 is hard but ask a lot of questions!

Brother Shaw is an amazing professor. He truly cares about his students and their success. The class is super tough and requires hours and hours of work to get a good grade. Take it with Brother Shaw, if you are struggling he does everything he can to help. There are tests every two weeks in the testing center. His lectures were super helpful.

Great professor who truly cares and is willing to help you! Individual professors can't change this course because of the way it's set up, but Brother Shaw helps wherever he can. BIO 381 is a hard course, but he doesn't give extra work, and the in-class quizzes aren't graded, but extra credit!

This was a hard class, but the teachers know their stuff. Labs are very tedious. Hunt and Shaw will prepare you well for medical school through this class. This class definitely rewards you for your efforts.
