Pretty clear on all the material, knows his stuff on gov. and as long as your there for the class not hard ..... quizes are an e-z 15 questions on the test following . Funny from times to keep class rolling along i recomend him.
recomend him great teacher and test are average... i passed with a B sooo not bad.
I really enjoyed this teacher. He makes funny, super corny jokes, and keeps the class lectures interesting. You have to study to make good grades, but I'd say it's worth it.
I thought he was an awesome prof. NO nonsense and stickler for the rules. But he throws some humor in there. Some dont get it. But i did. Show up, take notes, pay attention. You will do fine. :)
Prof. Smith is a great guy, Government has never been my strong suit but I passed with a solid B. Take notes, read the book, just do your best and you should be fine. If government is your thing, you'll probably get an A. Study the quizzes, pretty much all of the questions are on the test!
Nice guy.Really corny jokes but kinda funny.I didnt even buy the book and got an A.He gives an extra credit that can give you 20 points on a test or quiz.Write it asap because if you get a response to the letter you get an extra 10(30 total). His writing assignments are SUPER easy.I would take this class a thousand times.
I thought he was a great professor. Don't ever tell him your political standing. He's not interested in hearing it. I hardly used the book, just pay attention and take notes. He cracks corny jokes, but makes them funny anyways. Don't believe him when he tries to convince everyone that he's a communist. Passed with a B. Would recommend to anyone.
Even though his jokes are corny they make the class bearable and way less boring than government could be. He gives enough work for you to keep your grade up but not an excesive amount. He even gave out a couple of extra credits. I didn't like federal government but his class wasn't bad at all!
Very simple and easy to understand class. Took a maymester. There was something due almost everyday but nothing took too long. As long as you make attempts and follow instructions, the discussion and assignments are free 100s. All of his quizzes and tests answers come straight from the book. I ended up with a 96 in his class.
Took this class during summer. Lots of dry material in a short time, but it was not too painful. Tests from the book, quizzes take-home, studying required but it's all in the book. Writing projects were short discussion essays where you choose from a list of topics. Overall not a hard class, but you still have to work for it.
My favorite teacher this semester. Really passionate about subject, interesting to listen to his views. He gives good reviews for tests. Gives a lot of work and chances to up your grade. Really suggest to take his class.
Smith is a great prof. He's enthusiastic and his tests are straight forward. Homework is super easy, basically just completion grades. However his lectures can be kind of boring, and they don't really help you on the test. You definitely need the textbook, but you can just go find the answer and fill in the exam reviews. Don't really need to read
Great professor. Keep up with the coursework and you will do fine. He is super helpful if you get lost
He is a pretty awesome teacher. you do have to read the book every now and then. The test come straight from the reviews and he even goes over every question after so you know for when he reuses them. Highly recommend
If you can take Smith, TAKE HIM. He is interesting to listen to and the homework is easy!! You can make just okay grades on test and still get an A in the class! I took him two semesters and loved it. I wish he taught something else.
I took the 8-week session of this class. It was a 2 hr. 55 min. class, so the lectures were long, but he gave us a 10 minute break and usually let us leave around 10-20 minutes early. The quizzes and tests were directly off the lecture notes and the tests were basically word for word things he said in the lecture and questions on the quiz.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. He is hilarious and his passion for political science makes class interesting. His tests aren't that bad, but put the effort in and do the online homework and you're guaranteed to make an A or B+. He's very helpful one-on-one, and also provides test reviews online! Great guy! (He counts absences and tardies)
He is funny and tries his best to not let his politics come out. Love to joke around and show videos of news. Great guy and relays info. well.
Professor Smith's online class was great. I liked the pace of the class and he gave you ample time to finish your assignments. You don't really have to read the book, but you must do your assignments. He was always very quick to respond to any questions I had via email.
Great professor. He makes class interesting with jokes and political humor. Tests are hard but if you fill out and study the study guide, you'll do fine.
The guy is hilarious and his class is super easy as long as you review for tests. We had 3 tests the whole year! He is super understanding if you can't come to class because you were sick or something. He's an awesome guy!!
Dr. Smith is hilarious! He loves to make political jokes and tell stories during his lectures. All of his homeworks and quizzes are online and he allows you to do them on your own time. His tests are not hard, just long. He is very straightforward and can be intimidating, but he is willing to help his students. Would definitely recommend!
There are 4 discussions! there are 11 quizzes and he drops some of the lowest. Tests are very easy! Take him if you want an easy A!
Prof Smith is really funny and really cares about what he's teaching. He's clear with what you need to know and the homework is fairly easy. If you actually try to study you will pass and he's an all over great teacher.
His lectures are so long, so difficult to take notes on & he gets off topic an incredible number of times. He doesn't know his students & is very strict. His tests are nothing like the review & worded oddly & are very difficult. If you do all the hw & quizzes online, that will bring your grade up substantially. I wouldn't recommend him.
Prof. Smith is extremely organized and clear in his grading criteria. I strongly advise you to take his 2306 class at the same time, they go hand in hand. He responds to emails really quickly and really cares! If you work smarter not harder and utilize all of your resources you'll make an A. Just care about the class and read- you'll glide through!
Best government teacher there is here. All homework, quizzes, and papers are on ecampus so it is easy to stay on top of your work plus it is pretty easy. It is definitely an easy A and he makes the lectures entertaining. Take his class!
I took this class online. A lot of work but if you do it all it is an easy A! Very interesting. Exams are open book but do the reviews and you will be ok.
Took the class as a minister and got a B without the book. Just do the assignments and you'll pass.
Took the online course over the summer. Lots of writing for assignments and discussion posts. Make sure to cite EVERYTHING you write, even if it seems like common sense. He will take off a lot of points for not citing sources. Pretty slow to grade written assignments. Test are easy if you do the review. Do the work and you'll get a good grade.
I took his class online and it was very easy. He is very organized and has everything laid out for you. The discussion post are boring and hard, but as long as you do them and reply to others you'll do fine. Don't miss ANY assignment. ALL POINTS ARE WORTH IT!!!! The power points were intriguing and the quizzes and exams were easy. Take Class for A
He is really funny and nice. I am not into Government but he makes it more interesting. It is really easy to get a good grade in his class.
TONS of extra credit for just showing up and signing in so i wouldn't miss. about 9 hw assignments, 6 quizzes, 3 papers, & 2 additional extra credit at end of semester but he puts all of these up the first week of class so you could get them all done early if you wanted to. posts all powerpoints & reviews so you can miss class and wont be behind.
Smith is the best prof I have ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and what they will take out of being in his class. He's also extremely funny. Regarding coursework, as long as you do your homework and quizzes you will get an A. Tests are pretty hard, but if you read all the little details are in there.
Do not waste your time emailing him, won't get back to you. Wont grade section assignments or discussions until basically the last day before grades are submitted. Easy class though.
He's funny, knowledgeable, and very informative. I learned many life lessons along with the content from him! Take him. P.S. his slides are really the only thing you need.
He's funny, knowledgeable, and very informative. I learned many life lessons along with the content from him! Take him, he's awesome. P.S. his slides are really the only thing you need.
This guy is awesome. He's hilarious, caring, but most importantly a great teacher. You don't need a book so don't buy one and waste what little money you have and spend it on Layne's or Fuego's. Show up and get bonus points, if his phone goes off call him out and he'll give points out on the test. Talk to him after class he's a great guy!! take him
By far one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. He will open up a section and you'll have literally a month to do it. We still have class for another 4 weeks but I am almost done with the entire course. Easy A. Everything on quizlet. Only thing is, he takes a while to grade. Also, I didn't even buy the book.
This was the easiest government class I have ever taken. Summer courses are very fast paced but this class did not overwhelm me at all. I did not even buy the textbook, everything is online, might need research for the discussions but that is the hardest thing you will do. Very specific on word counts and what he expects in order to get an A!
Jason Smith is a great professor and I would most definitely take him again for GOVT 2306. He is extremely funny and very understanding. He does give a lot of homework and quizzes. I didn't use my book except for the quizzes, but quizlet helped more on everything. MEET WORD REQUIREMENTS ON PAPERS ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS ON PAPERS SHOW UP TO CLASS
Professor Smith is my all time favorite teacher. HIs lectures are easy to follow and hilarious. He assigns a little bit of homework but if you do it, it's a grade boost. It's very easy to get in A in this course. I'm taking 2306 with him again because he's a great prof!! Def would recommend!!!
I took this professor for GOVT 2306 online and loved him!! Finished with an A in the class, all of the tests and quizzes are online! Highly recommend him.
Professor Smith was a really good teacher. He has 9 HW assignments, 3 big papers, 7 online quizzes, 2 tests, 1 final. He gives extra credit like candy and tells a lot of dad jokes that are surprisingly funny! He opens up all the assignments the first day of class so in reality you can get it all done day 1. He's big on word count, but grades easy.
Gives 2 Test 1 Final. pretty easy class, i personally didn't read the book and finished with a B in the class. He always talks about something funny before class or even during lectures. It was overall your usual pay attention and do what you need to do class and you'll pass!
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Gives extra credit all the time, especially on Fridays! So go to class no matter what! Drops several grades and workload is totally manageable! Do your work, go to class, study for tests and you will get an A. Gives reviews for tests that are very helpful. However, a lot of the test comes from questions from the text book.
READ THE TEXTBOOK!!! Homework assignment are easy so long as you get to the word count. Sadly a lot of the information that is on the test is not taught on class.
Overall a good professor that I would recommend. All of the homework, and quizzes are online so you can use the book to help you. He gives 3 essays that are 750 word count and he isn't a tough grader, just meet the word count and you will get an A. Gives extra credit. Study the book or you will not pass the test because the reviews didn't help me.
This teacher has a great sense of humor, but also takes his subject matter seriously. There are quite a few assignments, but a number of them are dropped so you should be okay.
Professor Smith is the best. This is my second semester with him. If you do the homework you will pass! Lots of extra credit! He's also really funny, and makes an effort to joke with the class mid lecture. One of the best profs I've ever had!
Took this as an online summer 1 class and really enjoyed it. You will get an A as long as you follow instructions, cite your sources and meet word count. Quizzes can be annoying but you can get full credit just by continuing to get more questions. You really have no excuse not to get an A in this class and definitely recommend as a summer class.
Great Professor that wants you succeed in his class. Exam questions can be found in review and in the book. You should have no problem making an A.
This class was really easy! I highly recommend this professor! There is a lot of work but your lowest 3 homework grades and lowest 3 chapter quizzes are dropped. There were extra credit assignments and if you do the reviews, the exams were easy.
This was a very easy Summer I class!!!! All exams were on Quizlet. The hardest part was the discussion forms where you had to meet a certain word count, cite at least another source and reply to classmates, it was just time consuming and felt unnecessary. He doesn't respond to emails very well, too. I had the book, but never needed to dive in.
Took as an online summer minimester & so glad I did just to get the credit out of the way! Exams were super easy, the only thing that was a little annoying were the quizzes, but overall very doable. MUCH easier than taking at TAMU, and a very easy A! Take him!!
I took this class for a 5 week course in the summer and it was great. So glad I knocked it out of the way. There are kind of a lot of assignments but it is well worth it. It is definitely very manageable to get your A
If i could have mr. smith in every class i would! Hes an amazing teacher and hes super funny. Gives extra credit out like it Halloween candy and is a pretty easy grader
He was great
He doesnt respond well to emails and the tests are stupid hard. The good news is theres only 2 tests and he offers a lot of easy extra credit opportunities.
Smith has a really great class, very lecture heavy, and its fun to hear him ramble on about the even of the week. Just be prepared for is long-winded rants and bombastic jokes. Not any difficult material just read over the notes a ton before the midterm/final and you should do well.
Great lecturer making U.S. gov easy to digest. Keep track of assignments and weekly quizzes, they don't always show up on ecampus, but I emailed him and still received full credit. Extra credit is stupid easy and very worth it.
Dr. Smith is an amazing teacher. There are lots of online quizzes that require reading. He also gave out a lot of random extra credit that went towards the final.
WONDERFUL. He is to the point and lectures on what is on the test (imagine that). gives lots of extra credit for showing up. Papers aren't too fun, but they're not horrible. hardly every studied because his lectures covered the material really well.
There are 3 tests, multiple quizzes, and then the final for this class. The quizzes and final are all on quizlet! For each of the unit tests, you have to answer 4 short answer questions and the answers have to be 400 words each. It seems like a lot, but he isn't a tough grader and its an easy A!!
There are 3 exams and a comprehensive final, lectures pretty much cover whats on the exam and gives extra credit sometimes just for showing up. Online quizzes and homeworks/essays aren't too bad.
Doesnt respond to emails but easy online class if you do the work.
Doesn't respond to emails. I was never sure what I needed to study for the exams, besides everything, which wasn't doable for minimester. Exams were not on quizlet like others mentioned, and questions he asked were very specific - dates, dollar amounts, years. All other assignments were easy discussion posts and hw. Gave very minimal extra credit.
Absolutely awful, I would NEVER take him again. I took him on line super slow grader, never reached out to us when we emailed him, taught your self the whole course.
I took Prof Smith's Summer I class at blinn. There are 3 tests and one final (all proctored through honorlock) 14 quizzes and 6 homework assignments. If you're looking for an easy A with no effort, don't take this class. He is absolutely terrible at responding to emails, but is polite and helpful once he actually answers them. Get ready to work.
Prof Smith is not the greatest professor, but his class is easy. I failed the first exam, but he curved it and everything was so easy and he gave 100s on everything that I ended up with an A. I skimmed the textbook and was fine. However. he barely lectures in class and mostly just talks about random stuff so you gotta find all the info yourself.
This is a ridiculous class. Not only is the professor MIA all the time, he refuses to respond to emails. You could die and he wouldn't care. He also takes forever to grade. This class isn't easy because there are no lectures, the student themself is responsible for learning the content on their own. Honestly, take any class but this.
I took GOVT 2305 and made an A easily. Professor Smith in Online 2306 was totally absent in this class. I might as well have been learning from a book at home by myself and not paid money. The only C I have made in College to date and I am a hard worker. No effort to make the class fun or interesting... never again.
Lots of homework, but he did not really care about the student. I made an A in the class but he couldnt care less about you
Dr. Smith is by far the worse professor I have ever had. I am an impeccable student who gets top marks in ever class. I will not in his class because he doesn't teach. He just rants about politics in class. The tests will contain questions not at all related to government, just political science. You wont learn anything about government.
Prof. Smith is not easy but I would take him again. I took him online in the summer. He drops your lowest scores so you do not have to do all of the assignments. The class is done in sections with most assignments due at the end of the section. Only the final is proctored so you can use your notes and book for the other exams.
Online course for summer. Opened everything in sections. Discussions and exams are the only assignments you cannot work ahead on. Contacted him several times and has gotten better about returning emails. Course was pretty easy, just have to do the work. Provides extra credit at the end of the course.
Prof Smith is hilarious! But his tests are impossible; I made low Bs and Cs. I took his 8 week course so there was a lot of homework, but it's easy to get 100s on everything. Do all the work required and even if you do bad on exams, you'll get an A. Takes forever to grade assignments. Lectures have nothing to do w exams - from random TB sentences.
good professor. he will try his best to give you an A. he cares too much about the subject and that students understand it. his exams are so hard and the review he gives is not entirely helpful. you will enjoy his class and somehow end up well. make sure to do all the assigned graded work and attend all the classes.
I truly have a lot of mixed feelings about Prof. Smith. At the end of the course, I still couldn't decide whether I liked him or not. Like other reviews mention, buckle up and get ready to work. He does drop a lot of assignments, but they help to learn test material. If you are a disciplined person that likes history, go for him. Otherwise, don't.
This class makes you work. I spent probably 3 hours a day dedicated to this class to get an A. Prof. Smith is a funny guy but often you spend tons of time in lectures talking about off topic subjects. Tests are pretty hard. This is defiantly a class you will need to put a lot of time outside of class into in order to get a good grade.
Professor Smith was very funny and a nice guy. He is a very easy grader if you follow instructions it will be a 100. However, there is a lot of busy work and the test are extremly hard. I would take him if you are okay with getting an easy B. If you want an A you will have to work really hard.
Lectures tend to get off topic, but if you complete the assignments on time you will get at least a B. He is a pretty easy grader, and he drops a lot of assignments. He makes jokes and keeps the class at a chill vibe, but the tests are pretty hard so be prepared for those.
He was a nice professor and accessible outside of class but he was never on topic in class. He would go on really long rants about his political opinion and would not teach what is on the upcoming tests. His tests are proctored and decently long. We had to write a few essays and discussion posts each week. Reviews were not helpful at all.
He is nice and funny but i wished he was more simple and detailed with notes, a lot of discussions and attendance assignments and tests are confusing because it is a 8wk course
I thought he was pretty good. The lectures are pretty funny and he is always in a pretty good mood. I will say that it was the last day in class and he had not put in grades since before the break. He drops almost every bad grade so unless you don't show up, and you don't turn anything in... you should be just fine.
There is a lot of little assignments that take easily 15 minutes. If you try in the class you will pass. If you pay attention and put forth the effort it can be a easy A with smith
Super nice and funny, drops a lot of assignments and gives good reviews before the test. He's super lenient and gives extra credit for attendance. Lectures are super good and intresting because he has great personality.
I was not a fan of this government class. I thought it was a waste of time to go to the lectures because I didn't feel like I was learning any of the material and prof smith often went off on political or opinionated tangents, which wasn't a great use of my time. The overall classwork is pretty easy, though the tests are impossible.
Positives: - Hilarious guy, I would love to have a... an iced tea with him - Exam review sheets are absolutely amazing, and you can get at least a B on the exam just by using it. - Encourages class discussion Negatives: - Lectures don't really cover material - Lots of work! Not really hard work though - Inquizitive is the worst website!
He's an outstanding professor who makes his lectures pretty funny. He gives out a lot of extra credit for just showing up to class because he feels bad for going off-topic a lot. There's a lot of busy work, but it's super easy. Highly recommend taking him.
Dr. Smith is an amazing teacher! Class is fun and he made me want to go and learn. There are a good amount of assignments but it is all manageable. Failed the final but finished with an A anyways, gives a lot of extra credit. Overall Dr. Smith is amazing and this class is super easy, just show up.
Took Prof Smiths class recently and I really enjoyed it. He gives a lot of assignments but an easy grader. Lock in for the tests and you'll be fine. I could've gotten an A but didn't study for the final. Some test material not fully covered in class so do some reading outside of class. Overall easy course and good lectures would take again!!
Professor Smith is a funny and engaging lecturer, but his class requires a lot of work. The exams are challenging, but use the exam review sheets and Unstuck AI - they really help. Overall, an interesting class if you're willing to put in the effort.
There is a lot of homework for this class, but overall not a bad course to take. Even though there are a lot of assignments, it helps you boost your grade in case you do badly on the exams. He is very understanding but will push you to learn the material. His lectures are very helpful for exams as well, so I would recommend going to class often
I didn't enjoy his class that much. He does give a lot of assignments but ends up dropping some of them. He goes off topic during lectures and does not always get through the notes. The final had topics we didn't learn in class so read the textbook.
I truly loved Professor Jason he makes government fun and easy to learn about. Attendance is not mandatory but highly suggest going to class. He will give extra credit/points for being in class on occasions. His exams are tough but if you read the textbook and attend lecture this class will be an easy A.
