awesome teacher!
Great professor. Tells you all you need to know. Keeps class pretty interesting and entertaining. Would highly recommend for someone to take this class. Essay tests that if you study, you will do great.
Awesome teacher knows his stuff. He is laid back and funny. I would recommend him to anyone. Class is not hard if you do the work and pay attention. Israel is his specialty and he lived there for several years.
his Civ. II class is not hard at all!! all you have to do is study and its pretty much the timeline. i mean the only way you couldnt get an A is if ure memory is completley useless. awesome professor!!
I love Dr. Tatlock, even though all his exams were essay. He is very interesting and he always has an answer for your question. He knows what he is talking about and best of all he gives a lot of extra credit like going to off campus functions and lectures related to his class.
His Civ. II class is not hard as long as you study the timeline! its easy to get an A, lots of memory work. but if u have a good memory ure good to go! awesome professor!!
Im in love with him pretty much...he is super sweet and too SEXY!! :)
Dr. Tatlock is an awesome professor!! his class is easy as long as you study the timeline for his tests...and he has one paper which isint hard if you start early..i liked him so much im taking another one of his classes next semester!
Awesome Teacher. Willing to help and a fair grader. Easy to make an A if you put in the effort.
Cool Cat...had world religions with him and it was a blast. Test was multiple choice and a little on the tricky side. His definitions were not always explained in the lectures as they appeared on the test, so pay close attention. I learned a lot though.
He really knows what he's talking about and always talks about both sides even if it's a controversial topic. He's very helpful and encourages students to get involved and educated about current events. By the end of the semester you'll be an expert on human rights abuses. Great class.
He is what a prof. should be. Very engaging with material. Gives a lot of primary source material for you to analyze on your own. Very Fair Grader. Do not think about plagiarizing.
Dr. Tatlock is awesome! His ethics class taught me so much. i learned about human rights issues that i never knew existed. The class is fairly easy. we had essay exams. He is very laid back and sweet.(easy on the eyes too!)i would highly recommend taking his class. you will definetly have a new perspective on human rights issues.
Easy and interesting class. Just study the timeline and you'll do alright. We have one project dealing with human rights but it's just a 500 words essay and and then a 5 minute presentation to the class. Def recommend taking him.
Dr. T is one of the coolest instructors on campus. ther is no way you should come out of his class with nothing less than a B. He is for his students. He tells you what is going to be on the test so you will know what to study. I have taken him twice and would recommend him for any class.
Great professor!! He is very funny and has a lot of fun teaching. Anyone who takes a Dr. Tatlock class will not be disappointed. Wish I could have taken more classes with him.
Awesome teacher. Very fun and knows his stuff. I took him for a summer class. We only had 2 tests and one project/presentation at the end. Highly recommend him to everyone! I am going to try to find another class of his to take.
Instead of going on and on about dates, Dr. Tatlock focused on awareness of current issues, as effected by our history. The class was very engaging. Not too much homework, just some reading and learning the time line for the tests. Awesome teacher! Very nice and helpful too.
Does a great job of teaching the class and I believe I learned a lot from him. His test were not bad either. He did require the class to do a community service project, roughly 15hrs. If you hate the idea of volunteering outside of class, this is not the class for you.One of the best teachers I have taken at Armstrong.
I had Dr. T for Ancient Israel which is the only reason he didn't get Crystal. Really easy to get a B but you have to work for your A, but the class I am taking is suppose to be hard because it is historical methods. I would take another class with him.
He is very fun, and helpful at most times. I had difficulty with his tests because I am not good at memorization and dates. He has two tests and a presentation at the end of the semester. If you are barely making a good grade he will give options to pass, but you have to work for it.
Don't take this class if you are actually proud of the work you do. I feel like everything I did was absolutely worthless because he just shuffles people through. Literally: "Oh, everyone got an A!" If you're happy with that, and many people are, go for it. However, if you like your grade to reflect what you've done, run elsewhere.
He's hot! He's cool. He's sweet. He's smart. He's a good teacher. He's helpful. There's no reason NOT to take him!! I will say...he only gives two tests and a paper. The tests are very hard. I made an "A," though. It's very doable! You just have to work hard. :)
Dr. Tatlock is a fun and interesting professor. He gave two exams with 40 questions each, both of which were matching with a word bank. Make sure you actually study and learn the timeline. Good memory = good grade. There was a 10 page paper at the end, but doing community service cut down the pages to 5. Excellent professor and easy class.
Hot. So very hot. I learned a lot, easy class. He know his stuff & is passionate. Did I mention how nice looking he is? Highly recommended.
Good teacher, but i'm actually sitting in class now, and i'm bored to tears. Then again i'm a nursing major so history isn't my virtue. He talks a lot, has a few slides, but the slides are just article/excerpts & you take notes on what you think is important, has a review day before tests. 2 tests and a final. Pretty descent, just not entertaining.
He is original, he is authentic... He makes you feel like you are in a discussion room everyday, in which the student can interact with the speaker. Everytime I got out of class, I was always with smile on my face. Keep it up Dr.Tatlock, you are the bomb.com! The exams are a little confusing though, but you are awesome!!!
Dr. Tatlock is a great teacher. His test are kinda confusing but if you listen in class on the review day you will do fine on his tests. I hate history classes in general but his history class actually made me like history. I'm even taking him again for history 1102.
Good teacher, you don't really even have to take notes. just pay attention.
Great teacher. Take notes, listen at the reviews, and you will do just fine on the exam.
Dr. Tatlock's class is exceptionally easy; in fact, it was so easy, I didn't feel like I was in a college course. Also, the course I took was utterly boring. He doesn't even teach as much as he makes you watch documentaries! DO NOT RECOMMEND
History 2000 was a very important course and one that has remained with me until this day. I remember the devastating effect of learning about Human Trafficking had on me. Initially, I was aware this type of maltreatment did take place in foreign countries, but I have been oblivious to its existence in North America.
While taking HIST 1112, I learned a great deal about how civilization as we understand the term, came into existence. It was fascinating to learn about the many skills created during that time period and observe how these skill have evolved into everyday usage; such as, pottery and tools. This course has changed my perspective in many ways.
I learned about the Middle East in HIST 3000. This course was not a requirement under my major, but I have always had an interest on this topic. I really enjoyed learning about Cleopatra. She was extremely powerful and smart; she could speak several languages. This course was better any documentary I have seen on television
Dr. Tatlock is a great teacher! I learned a lot from him. His test were relatively close with the material. However, he relies a lot on critical thinking. He expects his students to "think outside the box". He is always there if you have questions and he always encourages his students to be proactive in the community! Would take him again!!
Dr T is an amazing Professor that calls his students to action. Learning about the "roles" of women in varying religions helped me gain a better understanding and appreciation for the differences among us. As well, The active participation component helped me to see beyond what I thought a particular region/ religion was about. Great class Dr T!
During my time under his care, Dr T and I worked on a project entitled â??Lady in Red.â?? The AASU staff and students were asked to wear red for solidarity, in reverence for domestic violence victims. He was also instrumental in assisting me with my senior project International Girls Day.He is an excellent professor that exceeds what is expected of him
Very wonderful professor! I just completed his World Religions class for the Summer term and I was completely amazed. Everything he said was extremely interesting and he's a VERY laid back guy. Very nice and can be quirky at times. Media presentations every week are also interesting to listen to. Tests are fill in the blank, but you MUST study.
wonderful professor. gives plenty of time to formulate essay for exam. i will advise that a rough draft is written and an appt is made with him before the exam just to make sure that your comprehension of the subject matter is what he is looking for
He is a very good professor. The best history professor I have ever taken. He made the class interesting and his jokes made me wake up since it was an 8am class. His is very understanding and will work with you. You only use the book for the quiz. I would recommend you to take him.He is very nice and doesnt try to trick his students.PLEASE Take him
He is "The Man!" Tatlock is super funny, and easy. He makes learning about dead old people so Interesting it's not even funny! His test are matching and an essay. He gives you the definition to every word and he is just an all around great teacher! Take him for every history class you need to take because you may get an A.
He's the cutest, very smilely and nice. And he is pretty easy. Homework is not hard. He gives you exactly what you need to know for tests. However, because he was so easy and lenient, it was difficult for me to take the class seriously. I recommend him, just make sure you actually study and do your work.
Dr. Tatlock is probably the sweetest man you will ever meet. He definitely cares for his students and their experience in his classroom. He is very passionate about what he does. Barely any homework. There are 2 or 3 tests and a research paper. He gives study guides and goes over whatever you need. Super sweet and helpful! He's lenient, too.
Nice professor. The course in general was interesting if you're interested in feminism and religion. Class was a fly by course. He assesses you with media assignments which are easy. Hardly ever used my textbook. I could have skipped class here and there or left when needed.
This class was not easy. The material he talks about in class is mainly not relevant to the test. Test are definition fill in the blanks. The study guide he provides is a list of the words that you need to know that he doesn't cover in the same amount of detail as he ask for on the test. Requires photographic memory or everyday studying for an A.
Very boring lectures and goes off topic all the time! Tests are fill in the blanks and multiple choice so not hard at all.
He is a wonderful professor.
Dr. Tatlock is an awesome professor. His class environment is laid back which allows for a more interactive class. He is very helpful and so nice to his students. He wants to see you succeed and will help you do that in many ways. Strays away from the main topic during his lectures sometimes, but he acknowledges that. Overall, a great professor.
Dr. Tatlock is an awesome professor. I took his Civ I class and I loved it. He really wants his students to succeed and he seems interested in the subject material. I will definitely try to take another one of his courses. Highly recommend him!
Dr. Tatlock's first impression came across as a chill, laid back professor. This proved to be accurate. He understands that most everyone who is taking the class is doing so because they have to. This being said, Tatlock does NOT go into much depth. While he may lecture on a range of topics, only key information is needed for the tests.
His tests aren't that hard as long as you study. He gives maybe 5 reading quizzes meaning you have to read the book. He's pretty easy going super cool. He does a review before the tests so that's helpful.
People give Tatlock great reviews, but I just dont see it. He lectured the entire semester, but the two tests were not over and of his lectures. Instead, he spent the day before the test reviewing and expected the students to do a ton of outside research. He is an extremely harsh grader. I am an A student in history and I barely made a B.
Attendance is a must for his class. He's extremely nice, and I would recommend taking him whether you enjoy history or not. He writes notes and key terms on the board and also provides a website for further study information. Gives occasional simple 10-question quizzes on brief reading material from the textbook. His 3 tests are from his lectures.
Tatlock was one of the best professors I have every had. I had him for Honors Civ 1. We only had 1 test, a week before midterm week. If you think you should have earned a point or two for something- he will probably give it to you. He is an easy grader and is very passionate about Civilizations, ask him about his tattoos! would take again for sure!
Dr. Tatlock is a phenomenal professor. I have taken two classes with him at Armstrong and have enjoyed both very much. He's very laid back and his tests are straight from the glossary provided. Not hard to make a good grade in this course. And very interesting subject matter! I highly recommend Dr. Tatlock.
Took for summer 16, so not sure on attendance for a regular class- but no book! Clear for what he wants on tests which are easy if you study! Curves which is AWESOME! Genuinely cares.
Dr. tatlock is one of the best professors I've ever had. He genuinely cares and wants students to succeed. He's very cheerful and passionate about history which makes it more fun for the students. Lectures are interesting and he makes them entertaining with his jokes. If you get the chance to be in his class then TAKE it asap!
He's hilarious!!!! He makes learning fun! His lectures are great. Videos are shown during class about turning points in history which helps connect the dots. All material on test is gone over, however, the material for quizzes are not. If you show up, pay attention, take good notes, and study you'll get an A! I will be taking more of his classes!!!
Dr. Tatlock is a great professor! You have to show up in order to really understand the material and his test are not very hard. Majority of the assignments/tests/quizzes come from his lectures, which are easy to understand. He wants you to pass his class and is willing to help out in any way he can.
Class was fun, the classroom was very small which made it even better, media assignments were so easy as long as you understood what he wanted, he reviews tests either the day before or the day of the test. He encourages participation and gives feed back. Easily accessible after class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING ANY OF HIS CLASSES!
Professor Tatlock is amazing! I would definitely recommend. He always gives reviews and even toke his time to make us a final review sheet for class.
Dr. Tatlock was my favorite professor! He is really funny and he goes over exactly what you need to know for papers. I took his honors class that was connected to FYSL. It was an easy A if you do all the work. He is pretty specific on grading. There are 2 tests which are easy if you study. I loved his class and didn't have a hard time getting an A.
Dr. Tatlock is great! Super easy class because the tests are multiple choice and he gives out a review sheet with all the terms you need to know.. easy A
Dr. Tatlock is a very entertaining teacher, I enjoyed his lectures. The downside is there are only 4 grades, the exams and they aren't as easy as you'd think. Although I failed the first exam I went and spoke to him in his office and he agreed if I made an 80 or above he would avg it with my first exam. It helped my avg a lot! very willing to help
Professor Tatlock is honestly amazing! Hes gives you a definition list after each test for your next test and your test is exactly whats listed. You literally just have to go to class and take notes and what he writes on the board is the test! Theres only 3 test and the other 20% of your grade is participation so show up!
Tatlock was a great professor, and very sweet guy. You could tell he really cared about his students and was very understanding of most any situation. Only 2 tests so you better not fail those and only 3-4 assignments as well, but its easy if you study a bit and show up to class
Easy A. All multiple choice. Just take Dr. Tatlock for Civ one and two. you will not regret it.
All the notes from the test come directly online and equates to about 3-4 pages to study. What he says in class adds information found on the notes but is not necessary for the exam. But he does take attendance. Tatlock is funny and helpful and he makes it hard to fail his class. I 100% recommend.
Show up or you will not pass. Everything on the tests are only taught during his lectures. Lots of terms to learn with a lot of details. Hard to follow the lectures most of the time and will honestly put you to sleep.
Professor Tatlock teaches you exactly what he wants you to know for the exams. Study those definitions; it helps. It was fun learning some new stuff. This class broadly looks over ancient history up to like the 1400 or 1500 AD. Exam questions are almost verbatim the definitions you go over in-class.
Pandemic edition. There was literally a research paper and two exams. The research paper was, well, a research paper. 8 pages. He was a pretty easy grader, gave me a better grade than I deserved (procrastinator, here). Exams were easy, one written at midterms and one online one as final. Got As on all three. Lecture was super interesting. 5/5.
Make sure to study your terms for his class, we were really only graded over the terms and a few notes from the lectures. Expect about 60-70 terms per test. only 3 test throughout the semester. try to make quilts it helps a lot. Super easy if you can memorize the terms.
Hes a good person and the class is fine but his lectures are pretty boring in my experience. I tend to perform better under professors who seem more passionate about the material. Maybe hes more engaging in his other courses but I got burned out in World History I. BUT if youre already confident in the material the class shouldnt be too hard.
Honestly, one of the best teachers I've had in a while I always enjoyed coming to class, and talking to him after class was always a fun experience
Prof Tatlock is okay. He is very accessible outside of class. For the online mimi-mester, there were 2 quizzes a week OR 1 quiz and 1 discussion. He is tough on the discussions, and the quizzes are hit or miss. They come from the lecture material. There was one test, the final exam.
Great teacher, he will have side conversations with you. he can get distracted during his lectures, but they arent hard to keep up
Dr. Tatlock is a fine professor and he makes the class very easy to pass. He gives you a list of terms and their definitions, just study that and the tests should be easy A's. He has a great personality and the lectures can be interesting.
He was overall a good professor and very enthusastic. He is very lecture heavy and did not have many grades.
I really enjoyed having him this semester!! His lectures were always very interesting and kept me engaged. Wish I could have him again for another class!
Dr. Tatlock is GREAT! 6 quizzes a semester based off textbook reading and 3 exams based solely on terms given in class, super easy if you study the terms! He is super sweet and compensates for any personal things happening in your life that might prevent you from attending class. Would take again!
Dr. Tatlock was my favorite professor. His lectures were truly amazing. He is clearly passionate about his content. He has a simple exam schedule. Make sure to follow his directions and to study his study guides. He takes everyone's issues to heart and is truly extremely helpful.
This class is very easy it's just 2 discussion boards and some quizzes to complete. There is no reason you shouldn't get an A in this class.
I am not the biggest fan of history class, but he made lectures fun and enjoyable. The class is super easy if you study the his review guides and terms. The quizzes are online and open note. There is no need to buy a textbook it is free online text. He is a super chill professor and I would definitely recommend him as a world history teacher.
Dr. Tatlocks online HIST-1111 class was the easiest class Ive taken at GSU. There are 12 multiple choice quizzes, 2 discussions, and a non-proctored 50 question final, that's all! He also offered 3 extra credit discussions. Everything is posted and easy to "study". He always announces what's due and to ask for help. Anyone should pass with an A+.
Tatlock was a good professor. His course was super easy, only one quiz a week. Sometimes there were discussion post, but they were also easy. His lectures were interesting and everything on the quiz was something he taught in his lectures.
very easy, you could complete the whole class in a day
I took this class over the summer and it was the easiest class by far! His online lectures are engaging and were fun to complete.
If you need to take this class, this teacher was amazing. You could tell he really cared about his students and the material. There was one quiz every week on that module. There were two discussion assignments and easy extra credit assignments. 10/10 recommend. Take him!
